Athletic qb is an overrated/over inflated quality over a sound reader of defense, accuracy and pocket poise. NFL is trying to showcase talent over grit like nba. Mahomes is great, but its looking more like rodgers 2.0 for him without the drama and selfishness while burrow is brady 2.0 but maybe less than 7 superbowls.. Even with Mahomes healthy, there were no indication that they will win against burrows cinci.

Skip, your show needs a new cohost. Shannon was a great football player , but his character took a deep hit after that horrendous display of insanity at a recent basketball game. The saying you can spend your whole life building your reputation and have it destroyed in 5 minutes has proven itselfl yet again.

Knew the Bengals were going to win this one after the Bills' final regular season game against the Pats. New England was competitive late in a game at Buffalo when the Bills had all the motivation and were coming off what was effectively a bye week. Buffalo just lost too many key players on defense.

@Rob That's a good point @Rob. I'm a huge Steeler's fan and I remember those playoffs games with the bus! And he was used as someone they gave the ball to when they got close to the goal line. Plus he fumbled against the Colts. Almost cost them the game if it wasn't for Ben making that great tackle at the end! But you're right you dont want to wreck your whole career playing in one game but because it's the AFC championship he'll play for sure. I'm glad the Bills didnt win. I'd rather see the better team play the Chiefs but those Bengals cornerbacks are glad Tyreek Hill won't be there this year!!

@Slabby Fatbackno. The Bengals Burrow first year was in a complete meltdown. You can't be a Bengals fan saying something so casual like that.

    • Nate O
      Nate O Ай бұрын

Burrow doesn't need Chase to win. In fact he was out for a month this year and they won all 4 games without him. Then he turns around and wins multiple games with Boyd and Higgins both out. Now he's winning without an o-line again. It's almost as if Burrow is the common denominator. Obviously Chase is amazing, but I don't think he gets utilized properly without Burrow feeding him the ball.

    • Kaelin Jefferies
      Kaelin Jefferies Ай бұрын

@Brandon Crockett the person that commented was just giving chase his props and then others like you had to bring up Burrow as if you’re not allowed to give chase his credit. Giving chase his credit doesn’t take any away from burrow. You might not have meant it that way but others in this thread were saying chase has no impact and that he’s just along for the ride.

    • Brandon Crockett
      Brandon Crockett Ай бұрын

@Kaelin Jefferies I was gonna let you have the last word as I stated, but, come on man…”to say that Chase has no impact is dumb”? Where did you read me saying anything like that? You completely misquoted me. In my last reply to you, I literally said that “Chase has obviously been HUGE for them”. And I made the case that Nick Wright isn’t giving Burrow enough credit if he’s insisting that there’s an undeniable gap between Burrow and Mahomes at this point (which he is). You’re welcome to disagree with me and list off Mahomes’s accolades to make your point, but I’m looking at how they’re playing RIGHT NOW, and I don’t see an undeniable gap between them.
I also pointed to people in this comment thread trying to make the Bengals’ success about Chase over Burrow. Maybe you’re not a part of that, but clearly not “everyone” is giving Burrow his flowers as you believe. But again, I don’t want to argue any further about this. You can legitimately have the last word now-feel free to misquote me as you’d like.

    • Kaelin Jefferies
      Kaelin Jefferies Ай бұрын

@Brandon Crockett I was just naming some people that gives him credit so like I said name someone that doesn’t give burrow his flowers. Of course burrow has the bigger impact bc he’s the qb but to say that Chase has no impact is dumb.

Been a Bengals fan since 1986. Some ups and downs during those years, definitely. But to get that #1 draft pick with Joe Burrow has been the single most important action and decision the franchise has, or will ever make. Last year, I thought the Bengals went a bit further than they were ready to go. This year, if they don't make the SB I'll be disappointed. Coin toss between them and the Chiefs, I'll be on the edge of my seat for the whole match. Whatever happens, as long as Burrow is treated well and paid properly, the Bengals are going to be strong for a good long time. Who Dey!

I can't deny that their are a handful new area qbs in terms of athletic gifts over joe. However he has the rare gift of being a general, like Tom who passed down the touch finally you have not just a QB but basically a QB couch that understand how to win. I'm a lifetime Bengals fan and I love Joe Burrow, but he's definitely not "Miles ahead" of Josh Allen. A quarterback can be the best on the planet but if his O-line isn't giving him time, and his receivers aren't open, there's not much they can do. I think the whole Bills team was almost shell shocked after that 14-0 lead and were never able to get into their groove

Week 17 Bengals winning 7-3, coin flip with Baltimore, pre-selling Bills/Chiefs tickets, Chase TD call, Allen fumble call overturned, I could go on…
My favorite part about the Bills game was that the Bills had all the big game changing call go their way and they still got stomped.

Bengals bills no contest is fine because both teams agreed to it, but to not have it neutral ground is disrespectful.

Chase TD was a TD. Bad ref call that.
Allen incomplete pass was an incomplete pass, but i could see it go either way.

I'm so glad that finally the Bengals are a force that other teams have to respect. In the past for many years, it was not always so. They had 2 super bowl appearances before Burrow arrived. Lost to the 49ers both times in a close game, especially the last time they were there. The Bengals offense line although missing 3 starters... due to injury did well yesterday because, They do have veterans on the line. A former Texas starter from last year is still there, Karras the center has been to the super bowl and won. Williams went out with an injury but was replaced with a veteran. So this line, even with injuries did well. They have good size. They trust in Burrow. The defense also is underrated. Great mix of free agents and rookie talent. Also the FRONT OFFICE.. Mike Brown is WANTING to win . His family took over, they have good scouts, which they never had before, Tobin is a very good man in the front office getting talent in there. They never had this before like they do now. They are just better better everywhere. The coaches.. coordinators , players, front office, the whole organization has chanced for the better.

Because they were the #4 team in the playoffs last year and upset a deeply flawed Titans team that has since seen an utter collapse. Then they were losing to the Chiefs 21-3 at the end of the first half, which was portrayed as a Chiefs collapse as a opposed to a Bengals victory. Then they lost in the Super Bowl to a Rams team that also suffered a complete collapse this year, and started this following season 0-2. It's not right, but people were ready to dismiss them because they had already decided that the real Super Bowl of last year was the KC/Buffalo divisional game thriller.

Was playing out of position. Max Scharping the guy playing RG right now was a 3 year starter for the Texans. The only unknown was left tackle Jackson Carman who played LT at Clemson and has only played guard in the nfl. He is a second year player. He played phenomenally. I think the Bengals have their left tackle of the future. If he can be consistent on his play from game to game he has the job.

I told my brother the Bengals would go futher than Buffalo around week 13/14 and his argument was "the Bengals are too perfect, there's too much hype on them, they're gonna lose in the first or second round. Buffalo has flaws and those teams usually go on further." And I was mind-boggled by the logic xD. I felt like I lost some cells in my head, it made no sense at all. Point being, the Bengals have looked like the better team for most of the season and nobody should be surprised by this outcome. Joey B went multiple weeks without his #1 guy and the team gelled in the mean time.
I think they are capable of beating KC. In my opinion, it feels like KC has regressed and Cincy has progressed since they met in the Post-season last year. But KC is at home and Pat Mahomes will be playing so you can never really count them out. The narrative next year for Pat will be interesting if he loses to Joe Burrow again. Certainly, people will begin making silly parallels between them and older rivalries.

I think we were just exhausted and the pressure was getting to us. With the mass shooting earlier in the year, then Micah Hyde going down, Von Miller going down, the massive blizzards, then Damar Hamlin. It felt like we’re defeated before the playoffs. Even winning 8 straight you could see we didn’t play our game. Playing mediocre but somehow getting the win. And then being completely out-coached for the 3rd year in a row in the playoffs. Changes need to be made coaching wise. We need a DC who can make adjustments and be consistent. We need a revamped Oline. I think James Cook has potential but for some reason we haven’t had a legit 3 down workhorse in a long time. We need that. And finally we need a OC who realizes that Josh can’t do it all. He needs a game plan that is to his strengths but we require him to be Superman to win games. Josh can 100% lead us to a championship but at this current time we have glaring issues. And for as talented as we are we need a lot changes to really be THAT team. But as always GO BILLS❤️💙
