He said that by all five measures, the US is showing itself in this incident as a loser.

I recorded a round object floating over my house a few months ago in Missouri. I think it has been floating overhead for awhile. I was thinking it was a UFO, but was really embarrassed to mention it to people.
Since we don't know the payload on the balloon I don't think we should bring it down until it goes out to sea. We should have detected and taken it down when it first entered our airspace.
