@yesssurrr I need Chuck out here spitting truth. These guys are all too green and nice. Chuck will call out Kyrie’s bs. “Wants to go somewhere celebrated and not just tolerated” GTFOH! Brooklyn loved and embraced Kyrie. He just refused coming to work. In NYC, during a pandemic, he refused to get vaccinated, so yeah its tough to tell people like my 75 year old parents who survived cancer in Midwood Brooklyn to spend their retirement money to cheer for a selfish ungrateful person who is okay not getting vaccinated to a deadly virus.

I think Kyrie's happiest time in the NBA was his first several years with Cleveland where he could dominate the ball and jack up all the shots he wanted while they won 25 games a season and he was off for the summer by late April.

@sadiablo93 See what you're doing is speculating, what I'm doing is just saying what it is.
I do not deign to see inside the heart of man ~ someone probably.
Whatever the reasons, fact is he gave the money away and it helped people so I could care less about things that I can't know.
And going by what his teammates say, they seem to like him, so unless you were in the dressing room, all I can do is say i don't know? From the player's perspective it seems like the consensus is to treat it like a business first and foremost as they don't want to let the ownership take advantage of/disrespect them.
So if that was the case and I was his teammate, all I would think is wish you the best on getting what you think you deserve, hopefully you suit up with us again.
EDIT: just a tip, try to hold less animosity in your heart and you'll start to not assume the worst (or best) of people you've never met. Take things at face value my guy, filling in the blanks with loose assumptions is a good way to lose your footing.

    • sadiablo93
      sadiablo93 Ай бұрын

@CheemsDuku Did it ever come up to you that philanthropy is in many cases just a tool to signal virtue for ultra high net worth individuals? This obviously does not mean that Kyrie is not believing in the causes he donates for but getting positive PR from it definately helps sweeten the deal.
From my point of view how he treats his team mates is a much better indicator and as a team mate I would definately feel let down if this guy is not playing because he does not want to get vacced while we are trying to compete for a chip.
I really want Luka and the mavs to win, but empirically having Kyrie on the roster did not work in favor of most teams.

I also think it is a tricky thing, but wenn Shaq is talking about the 4th quarter was for Kobe, I was immediatley thinking, if Kidd can manage it, to switch the 4th quarter to Luka in one game and in the next game to Kyrie, the Defense will have big problems, as they start doubling both of them and all of a sudden you have 2 players free.

I feel like dallas is a good spot for Kyrie mentally, I don't know the man and I'm not gonna act like I know anything about him but I do know about dallas, Dallas is an incredibly chill and supportive environment where a lot of people have an opportunity to develop because the team has always been open to experimental rotations to let other players shine. I believe dallas has the ability to make this Luka Kyrie Wood trio work, the idea that Luka or Kyrie can't work off ball is absolutely ridiculous, both are generational talents and both are top 10 current offensive threats.

I totally get where you're comin from and I wish KD had made better decisions throughout his career cause I believe he can lead a team to a championship but we don't see that cause of everything that transpired. Now Kyrie as a teammate, I'm sure he isn't a said "bad" teammate but LOOK at everything that HAS happened in the last 6 years within his career. Everything that he said in the interview into the Mavs, his lack of self-awareness is breathtaking! He stepped away from games more than once cause he had to show up to birthday parties? That's not what a superstar like Lebron, Kobe, KD, Giannis, Luka would ever do. Tell me I'm wrong

  • Levels
    Levels  Ай бұрын +1

Shaq & JC have good points. Glad Kyrie got out of Brooklyn. Wasn't thinking he'd go2 Dallas. But I hope it works out. Honestly feel like Luka/KD would've been great, not because of talent. Simply because what Shaq/JC said, that's a crowded back court.
I think Kobe/Chris Paul would've worked out, but honestly not a huge fan of 2 star guards sharing the rock anyway. One of the reasons why having another guard like Derek Fisher or some kind of specialist playing alongside a superstar ball handler usually works.
A back court/front court player combo seems more compatible.
But like I said, I hope it works out. Hopefully they can play together. Seems like Kyrie is feeling a bit refreshed he's no longer in Brooklyn. Definitely don't mean to dampin the excitement of the trade.
If it does work out which I hope it does they'll be very difficult to stop.

This is the quietest year for trade I can remember. Even with the dedman trade today there's only been 4 trades this season. Only 2 trades this year involve players who are rotation players. The kyrie trade and the rui trade to LA. So really only 2 trades so far this whole season. Even if it's a busy deadline going this far with 2 notable trades is crazy.

I believe if Luka plays more without the ball the Mavs are a legit contender. They have young horses on their team in Josh Green, Jaden Hardy etc...and if they move the ball more often than not they can contend with any team. Luka and Kyrie will get many chances to dominate the ball but if they both pick their spots in the halfcourt they will be fresher in the fourth quarter and then they can dominate. Push the ball ahead to those young athletes and then when the time presents itself do what Luka and Kyrie do. The more guys with confidence the better the team.

I wish all the best to Luka and Mavs. I used to be one of Kyrie's biggest fans. I was behind him when he wanted out of Cleveland. I was skeptical but still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now that he's quit on his third consecutive team I don't believe he deserves to be signed to an NBA contract. Although he's a top 10 guard in the league skill doesn't matter when you have such a terrible attitude that you're willing to give up on real championship opportunities for personal gain. Man up and fulfill your contractual obligations, if you were working a real job you'd have gotten everything taken from you in lawsuits.

@Apple Pie NBA players job is to play good basketball, not win a championship… They pay him millions of dollars because of his talent and ability to bring in more fans(views, ticket and merchandise sales, social media boosts, etc). Owning an NBA team is an investment, and investors look to make profits, Kyrie is showtime he will always bring profits. Championships are a cherry on top for team owners. Almost 90% of people who have played in the NBA have never won a championship. By your logic most professional athletes don’t do their jobs. And all the teams that have never won a championship don’t do their job.

Kyrie has been in control of his own story and narrative his whole career and has no one to blame but himself for how people react to the stupid stuff he does and says. Why will it be any different in Dallas? If he wants people to stop judging him for the stupid things he says and does off the court, then keep your stuff private and don't say stupid things to the media. Pretty simple, but I doubt he will change his social patterns. I hope I'm wrong and things will work out well for Dallas and Kyrie, but until he proves me wrong, I won't respect him based on his past words and actions.

They had no plans to trade kyrie until he forced his way out. He demanded a trade bro. Lebron has been on the record before said that he still wanted to play with kyrie. Kyrie did not want to play with him simple as that. It's what broke that team up.

@King visuals Kyrie made that shot but Lebron is the reason for that ring in most peoples minds. The burn came after because Kyrie was salty about that fact. Felt he didn't get enough credit (also didn't like being called Lebron's son) and blew up the team instead of going for ring #2. So yeah he burned them and left the team in shambles. They are only now recovering from it actually. You can say it was worth it I guess but they easily could have at least gotten a second ring if things hadn't went south. Remember he could have played and instead choose season ending surgery to force his way out. That's a burn.

@Project: Graham Now Harden comes out and says he is NOT surprised that Durant and Kyrie wanted out. The organization is "dysfunctional ".
You hate on Kyrie so hard saying his teammates "probably" want to say something (against him). Looks like you are wrong.
Not only did other TEAMS want him. His new teammates EMBRACE him.
Btw, Jalen Brown stood up for him AGAINST the Nets.
You think I don't know what I'm talking about, but apparently I do.
The media attack on Kyrie is politically motivated.

      357Amun Ай бұрын

@Tyrell Miles I don't know "exactly" what he said on ig, live. People usually misinterpret to fit their own narrative.
      Again, I blame:
Kyrie, for any no call, no show.
The Nets, for their ridiculous reaction to the tweet for the video.
      NYC, for that stupid mandate.
I'm specific and practical, not general and emotional.
You complain that he should've asked for a trade earlier, but you complain that the trade value wasn't there. So would've complained anyway.
Now you complain that he kept his job even though they wouldn't play him for not taking the (experimental) jab.
You're trying to run a business, you say. Then negotiate a better contract.
(Btw, no one believes that Kyrie was looking for charity. He GIVES charity.)
You seem more hurt than the owner, that he paid Kyrie for work not performed.
Maybe he understands it's just a down payment on his Karma for his human rights "violations" in China.
Anyway, I hope you get over your pain soon.

@357Amun to respond to your point about having no evidence he expected special treatment, this came from that guy’s mouth directly in an ig live. My point is show up and do your job. As far as trading him at that time, they were not gonna get anywhere near what they got offered this past week at that time. Because he didn’t have the production plus the drama surrounding him at that time. I’m trying to run a business. This ain’t no charity. You’re gonna blame the Nets and others for him being so unreliable, it’s ridiculous. He didn’t want to take the jab, request the trade back then to someplace else that doesn’t have a mandate. Out here trying to have his cake and eat it too where he gets paid full salary for part time work in nyc while there’s a mandate in effect and other people in nyc lost their jobs because they didn’t want to get the jab. But he still had his

    • 357Amun
      357Amun Ай бұрын

@Tyrell Miles I have no evidence that he expected special treatment. He was within his right to refuse the jab. Not his fault. I will agree to disagree with you on that. I see that mandate as the city of NYs fault. Yes, Silly mandate.
I blame him for no call, no show. However, he only missed a few games for personal reasons, as far as I know.
I bring in politics, because the media bashing him is about politics, as I have explained.
Also, the Nets could have traded HIM a long time ago.
All in all, I agree to disagree with you.

    • Tyrell Miles
      Tyrell Miles Ай бұрын +1

@357Amun what in the actual hell does that have to do with him not showing up to work and his availability? You wanna talk politics and his humanitarian efforts, but he’s still got to do his job. The mandate affected everybody who worked in nyc including local athletes and sports teams. He didn’t want to take the vaccine, that’s fine. There were other guys who didn’t either. Jaylen Brown and Bradley Beal most notably. Difference is they play in cities where there is no mandate. Kyrie was better off asking to be traded last season instead of doing this whole part time, Will he or won’t he play crap. Him thinking the team will make an exception for him is ridiculous because that mandate is way out of the Nets or even the league’s control since it’s a larger authority (local government) issuing it.
You’re giving him excuses or a condoning him missing games or barely showing up to do his job. Mans missed games either due to personal reasons (family party, traumatized by the attack on Washington capital, protest) or injury. Only played in 74 games over the past 3.5 years and was always in some controversy that brought unwanted attention to the team as a whole.
I’m paying you to do a job and your attendance is horrible and you’re constantly in some drama. As good as you are at said job, why should I keep you around when you’ve given me nothing but headaches and the best we could do is a second round appearance? Make that make sense please. And you want me to give you a raise as well with me knowing all of this and I didn’t get anywhere close to my goal of winning a championship? Not even a conference finals appearance at least. There’s zero accountability here and that’s my problem

It’s simple, Kyrie wants to be treated like a no1 but not have any of the criticism or responsibility that comes with it. He wants everyone to call him a leader without him having any leadership abilities, and the way he ended things in Cleveland, Boston and New York will be the same with Dallas. He consistently gets handed what he says he wants but then realizes it’s more than what he bargained for, changes his mind and then bails.
It’s sad because he’s super talented and can be one of the best when he wants to be, it’s just becoming less often you see it.
