This is by far my favorite way to play. Every accomplishment is so satisfying, and even just getting water is cause for celebration. Don't even get me started on finally getting your first emerald...
5:36 In terms of chance (and percent of iron drops) Robbie's 1 ingot from his zombie kills is a frequency of 1.052% chance for a zombie to drop iron, which is only slightly higher than the expected rate. Your rates, however, are much higher, with roughly 2.681% of your kills garnering an iron ingot. Hope this helps Edit: The amount of people saying "🤓" For what's basic maths is kind of funny 💀. Did yall skip 6th grade or smth?
you didnt give the probabilty of the results you just gave the percentage of zombies dropping iron that he killed you need to use a statistics table to get the probability hes asking for
5:36 I haven't seen anyone actually do the binomial calculations for this so here goes: P = Probability of success (iron drop) = 5/600 or ≈ 0.833% / 0.00833 in change factor n = Number of trials (how many zombies did he kill?) = 261 x = Number of success (how many iron did he get?) = 7 Plug P, n & x into the "binomial distribution formula" and we get a cumulative probability (P(X≥7)) of 0.676%. Answer: The odds of getting 7 iron (or better) within 261 zombie kills is approximately 0.676% or about 1 in 148. Not dream luck but lucky nonetheless.
So far one of the best and most entertaining 100 days series I've found. It was not repetitive, and actually was a challenge. So well edited and put together.
The uniqueness of the challenge, in addition to the technical mindset, makes this a highly enjoyable 100 days challenge style video- most of them have arbitrary and uninteresting twists, but this one has a logical yet unique twist that makes for a wonderful video.
So for the 8 iron you got on day day 16 in total , I did the math. (NOT A MATH WHIZ, so if somebody wants to check it, please go ahead :) ) You and Hobby had a total of 357 zombies killed. I multiplied 357 by 0.0083333... (5/600, from the source shown in the video) to get 0.83% of 357, and I got 2.98 . Subtracting 8 by 2.98, you got 5.02 more iron than you should have. And dividing 8/357 gives me the percent of iron you got, 0.0224%. Then by dividing 0.0224 with 0.0083, I got 2.70. TLDR you had a 2.70 times higher chance of getting iron, which is pretty lucky.
Easily the most engaging 100 days I have seen. To turn even the most barren flat nothingness into an actual engaging story is really amazing. Please do something like this again
This was such a cool video, I loved it! You inspired me to try my own world actually. I was just curious what mod you used to see the slime chunks? Keep up the good work.
I always wanted to do this since like 1.6.4 in minecraft but I never tried past day 5. This is awesome!!! Mad respect for putting up with dirt digging for so long XD Amazing video man keep up the good work!
@yarikanari probably because they have 1.lots of Wood instead of jaron who only got a single log(4wood)(i think). 2.they have two players and killing a zombie for food is really easy in superflat. 3. They have a bonus chest(Wood and other stuff). 4. They have a plan, jaron goes in without really any plan so he can learn along the way (and do you want to make a whole plan to play in a world of dirt?). 5. Idk just Idk.
@EmHa for any future people reading your comments, please get better grammar. I am getting a brain aneurysm from trying to process what you’re writing. Not trying to be rude.
I cannot comprehend how good this video was usually I don't comment on videos but man this was amazing I subbed and ofc liked, looking forward to 200 days!
I am currently doing my own challenge in hardcore; what I call Extreme Hardcore Skyblock. I start with a tree, the dirt island, and a bucket of lava. That is all. From there, the goal is to get to the nether. Challenges like this are so fun in terms of testing your Minecraft knowledge of game mechanics. I learned a lot from your challenge :)
Please continue to 200 days. Really loved to watch it. If another trader spawned in, and he sold birch or oak sapling, then you could get honey. Accordingly to the wiki, then "Oak and birch trees grown from saplings that are within 2 blocks of any flowering azalea have a 5% chance to grow with a bee nest containing 1 to 3 bees". Another idea could be to find a wandering trader, which sells sugercane. With which bookshelfs can be crafted, then a lectern. And then by a 50% chance from a Librarian Villager Journeyman Glass blocks can be obtained. Another idea could be to break through the bedrock by the usage of the moss blocks, and the build a void base. Ofc to make the grind easier, then first make a smithing table 4 wood and two iron ingots. Which at Expert level will have a 50% chance of giving you two either the option of an enchanted diamond axe or an enchanted diamond shovel.
This is like Ilmango's skyblock but with less technical stuff, very nice video. I made the connection right away but then he mentioned the exact farm Ilmango designed and used in his own series, so much dedication goes into doing these restriction runs (and they didn't even start with infinite wood)
You guys deserve millions of sub bro, great job and from now on you have a new supporter! Thank you for this lovely video and for the efforts of actually doing it
Dude this video was insane, I didn't know 90% of the mechanics you used to progress. I loved the narration and pacing, super engaging! This was awesome!
You made a great achievement by this 100 days I learned what is enough to play better in the next times with clever mindset ❤ I loved your video and hope the good luck for you man.
Since I've seen nobody do the math, here's me doing it :) To calculate the propabilities for the iron drops you can use the binomial distribution. Propability of a zombie dropping an iron bar: 0.0083=0.83% X: Number of zombies killed Hobby's iron-luck: 1 ingot 96 zombies X~B with n=96 and p=0.0083 Propability for one or more iron ingots from 96 zombies: P(X>=1)=1-P(X=0)=1-[(96 choose 0)*p^0*(1-p)^96]=1-[(1-0.0083)^96]=0.55=55% Your iron-luck: 7 ingot 261 zombies X~B with n=261 and p=0.0083 This one is a little more difficult so I am just going to use a calculator Propability for seven or more iron ingots from 261 zombies: P(X>=7)=1-P(X
I'd love to try the super flat challenge, but what keeps me from trying is that one of the main reasons I love Minecraft is exploring my world, and playing in a flat one kinda takes that away.
Hey Mogswamp? Dunno if you’ll see this, but how’d you build that mob farm at the beginning? Did you use a tutorial or what? I’m doing a superflat challenge on bedrock myself which is basically this and all of the farms I’ve seen elsewhere involve water, so having a similar one to yours here would be helpful xD Cheers!
I saw yeah jaron and Ibxtoycat do this, and I think that you’re probably the best guy to do this, having played superflat for 10 years. You 100% deverve the growth you’ve gotten recently. Can’t wait to see you hit 1M!
Hey Mogswawmp. I was just scrolling through youtube, and then I found this video. I watched it. It was cool. Then I checked out your channel, and let me say it is amazing. You are an excellent content creator and inspired me to start making videos.
Your videos about flatworld survival makes me happy. Everyone told me superflat was for creative only, but i knew they were wrong. I am glad you make vids like this

dude i hope you do 200 days i cannot wait to watch this i think this is actually the only video that i watched without skipping like seriously the storytelling and the editing is craaaaazy bro keep up the great work mog
I was going to do this! I didn’t even know this video was out there until I found your channel (which was today). You deserve more than a millions subs!
@Mogswamp can you tell me the size of the circle of the minimun render distance, ive been doing superflat structureless before yea jaron and you, after seeing you guys videos im amazed of how much you can do, i wanna do in you way but i dont know how too make the big circle for early game
actually the best minecraft video i ever watched the narration was soooo good and you kept me wondering what would happen after during all the 20 minutes without gettint bored once!! bravi.
Can I ask how you got your mob farm to work properly? In the tutorial mango uses stairs and un-path findable blocks to lead mobs down, but you built yours with just dirt. I’m just asking cuz I’m trying a similar challenge and my farm wouldn’t work
@Andrew I wouldn't do it, I like foxes(as long as they don't attack my chickens but if there's a lot of them I just place a few polar bears in the fences)
If there were different biomes you could get a fox to spawn and then get emeralds from them to buy a sapling from the trader which you could get apples from, but I’m pretty sure superflat is all plains so…
I just absolutely love how you broke down the 100 days into smaller 10 day periods with the mini cat moving around. For me, 100 days is just a big fancy number, but when you break it down like that, you start to realize "wow... this guy's actually doing a lot" Keep it up!!!! Genuinely never thought I'd be so invested over a guy surviving on a barren green wasteland in a video game 😂
Using a one proportion z-test for your zombie kills you can get a one-sided p-value of .0032 and a two-sided p-value of .0063. Which is to say if you were to kill 261 zombies you would get 7 iron or more (being as lucky or more lucky) .32% of the time and get a result so far from the most common result (being this or more unlucky or lucky) .63% of the time.
fun fact: if the biome is set to Taiga, you need no starting resources because of foxes spawning with emeralds in their mouths letting you get a tree from the wandering trader
To think that something like the freaking wandering trader ... a mob usually only used for free leashes, would be the one to fully unlock everything through trading saplings. As long as a world has mobs, dirt and at least an apple and a workbench, it seems like you can do a lot with just enough patience.
Omg that was just so good it sounds so borung but the way you tell us what you did and the way you edited it you just cant skip or go forward in the video because you just want to know what they did every day keep going man a sub from here.
Day 100-200 is out!
kzclip.org/video/PW4IxiJ3BxA/бейне.html
@ArrowAnims sheep…. And he explains how he gets wood
@Mogswamphow did you get so many beds before wandering trader???
Welp explain this to me:
How did you made so much beds and even chest before wandering trader???
@hanyao ‘lazy’ isn’t the right word, ‘dedication’ is
What was the slime chunk mod?
This is the crazier way to do it but I'm glad you tried it the bedrock way! Love the look of the sheep farm :)
Always remember ibxtoycat did it first 😂
@Tokin where did they get dye from? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard
@ThirstyLizardbone meal and mixing dye
@Shane Dog Again, just watch the damn video
@EvanCCG you still have no evidence. youre just salty
Theres no way Hobby's family isn't being held captive
@Jamil Kamaly insanely weird, yea
Is it weird I want that
test
lol
I love this extremely technical approach to the challenge, like trying to make pigs into Zombie Piglin to ultimately get a villager.
@TIMMY who
and where??
I mean, what else can you do?
@TIMMY idk what you're talking about but im pretty sure parrot didnt create this idea
@TIMMY what 💀💀
he stole parrots video!!
This is by far my favorite way to play. Every accomplishment is so satisfying, and even just getting water is cause for celebration. Don't even get me started on finally getting your first emerald...
@Tycho Brauns there is link in the description
how do u build the mobgrinder?
Yes

@SunriseSky imagine making fun of someone for being smart 💀 hilarious
Bro I hate math but I don't consider you a nerd you're just awesome
I think they are in 6th grade ^^
5:36 I haven't seen anyone actually do the binomial calculations for this so here goes:
P = Probability of success (iron drop) = 5/600 or ≈ 0.833% / 0.00833 in change factor
n = Number of trials (how many zombies did he kill?) = 261
x = Number of success (how many iron did he get?) = 7

W math
This is my favourite type of KZclip comment
MATE 7 IRON FROM 261 ZOMBIES IS NOT THAT RARE PROVE ME WRONG
100 days on a no structure super flat sounds SO BORING but the way you edit and pace your videos make me crave more… I crave it😩
Well, Yeah Jaron did that challenge and it went pretty well.
Really it is harder to play and iron ingots are harder to get overall, so I say it makes everything more harder
I'm scared
Makes me want to do it lol
@archie plays well, this was before those.

Am confused
Ty
i really love seeing challenges like this, simple in concept but astounding results from the execution of it
It’s amazing how Il Mango is referenced in almost every great red stone build or clever farm build. The guy is a genius.
Easily the most engaging 100 days I have seen. To turn even the most barren flat nothingness into an actual engaging story is really amazing. Please do something like this again
i didn't find it that engaging i don't know why usually i would be fine but idk maybe because he was going and talking so fast
Yes please
Everything create from what already there. And what already there create from emptyness
Zhuge liang, chu warlord
skyes has some pretty good ones too. and iceeman and others.
Hi
My favourite part about these challenges is learning the niche mechanics
u guys are so wholesome playing together - i hope this series goes on for a long time
Probably one of the most entertaining and impressive 100 days I've ever seen
You earned a sub for 2:33 with that “I’m working on dying” reference
frfr
oogiemane he killed it
I was genuinely so happy for you when you finally got the saplings!
This was such a cool video and I’ll definitely be back for more!!
Please do another 100 days of this! The progression, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT and everything was well executed! good job
Your wish has been granted…
Hey! I saw your comment in the second part!!!! This is the first time that this has ever happened to me!!!!
ye
yessir
@Davis Family you can buy it
It's interesting comparing this to IlMango's sky block challenge, or the vanilla one block Pinu is doing. Very fun to watch :)
its been so long since i've seen a 100 days challenge so good, better than luke's ngl
What a beautiful content. Very interesting challenge. This was the first time i've seen your content and i want to see more of this.
How... HOW does your final base look so good?!?! Also, GG for surviving that long
@EmHa you forgot
4. He's literally experienced with surving in a flat world for 10 years. That's crucial information idk why youd leave that out.
Hi jaron, I loved your bedrock super flat as well.
@yarikanari probably because they have
1.lots of Wood instead of jaron who only got a single log(4wood)(i think).
Big support for the channel and keep on making awesome content and guides and giveaways in the future as well. Worked for me
This video was very well made! Nice job.
This is type of stuff I love, people who have such a big knowledge of Minecraft they can transform a superflat world into a survivable world. Insane.
@Jerrard Dabest just watched it. Sorry ahah
@JS did you even watch the video?
They can't get villagers
well just 1 day after posting this in his QandA he said hes definetly gonna do 200 days now :)
Ow
This is like Ilmango's skyblock but with less technical stuff, very nice video. I made the connection right away but then he mentioned the exact farm Ilmango designed and used in his own series, so much dedication goes into doing these restriction runs (and they didn't even start with infinite wood)
This video is very entertaining and I love how it started from simple boring plains to a fully decorated house!
You guys deserve millions of sub bro, great job and from now on you have a new supporter! Thank you for this lovely video and for the efforts of actually doing it
This is impressive, you have quite the knowledge of minecraft features and other stuff, this is what you call being creative 😊
Getting the witch to throw the potion of weakness was genius and I'm definitely using this trick!
Dude this video was insane, I didn't know 90% of the mechanics you used to progress. I loved the narration and pacing, super engaging! This was awesome!
hi Adrian terrairia is goated
Is this the guy from terraria?
@Koen92 Oh, my bad. I guess I just thought he did it first cause I saw him do it first. Thank you for enlightening me!
@yeah Jaron wasn’t the first either
@BigOofersRock jaron was literally in the live chat
The fact that you did this all without structures and just dirt is insane!
You made a great achievement by this 100 days I learned what is enough to play better in the next times with clever mindset ❤ I loved your video and hope the good luck for you man.
Since I've seen nobody do the math, here's me doing it :)
To calculate the propabilities for the iron drops you can use the binomial distribution.
Propability of a zombie dropping an iron bar: 0.0083=0.83%
X: Number of zombies killed
Hobby's iron-luck: 1 ingot 96 zombies
X~B with n=96 and p=0.0083
Propability for one or more iron ingots from 96 zombies:
P(X>=1)=1-P(X=0)=1-[(96 choose 0)*p^0*(1-p)^96]=1-[(1-0.0083)^96]=0.55=55%
Your iron-luck: 7 ingot 261 zombies
X~B with n=261 and p=0.0083
This one is a little more difficult so I am just going to use a calculator
Propability for seven or more iron ingots from 261 zombies:
P(X>=7)=1-P(X
There is so much room for error, this is so beyond impressive. 👏👏
Most enjoyable and most interesting 100 days to watch!Do 200 days pleasee!
this is by far the most impressive 100 days video ive seen to date
@pl4yerone lover thats wat i was talking about
hardcore on 1 dirt block. if you break it, it doesnt respawn. the only way to win is to get a zombie to drop an iron shovel and farm snow
@Gravitree 9102 no
Date?
Can I have a date pls🤍
or just do it like Pinu, and start on 1 single block of dirt :)
This is a really well produced video! Consider me hooked!
I'd love to try the super flat challenge, but what keeps me from trying is that one of the main reasons I love Minecraft is exploring my world, and playing in a flat one kinda takes that away.
This is great. I would never have the ambition for this. I love watching it
Hey Mogswamp? Dunno if you’ll see this, but how’d you build that mob farm at the beginning? Did you use a tutorial or what?
I’m doing a superflat challenge on bedrock myself which is basically this and all of the farms I’ve seen elsewhere involve water, so having a similar one to yours here would be helpful xD
Cheers!
I saw yeah jaron and Ibxtoycat do this, and I think that you’re probably the best guy to do this, having played superflat for 10 years. You 100% deverve the growth you’ve gotten recently. Can’t wait to see you hit 1M!
Ibxtoycat had saplings at the start tho
Because in bedrock you can get saplings from the starting chest
Hey Mogswawmp. I was just scrolling through youtube, and then I found this video. I watched it. It was cool. Then I checked out your channel, and let me say it is amazing. You are an excellent content creator and inspired me to start making videos.
@Mogswamp how did you make the mob farm in super flat as ilmango's design uses stairs and slabs
@Mogswamp No problem! Thanks for making awesome content
omg thank you!
The way he edits this is so awesome! 🔥
I am in love with this series I'm already back to rewatch the three eps you have out.
id love to see what you could do with a few added wandering trader trades. even just a lava bucket trade would make 200 days worth it i think
Your videos about flatworld survival makes me happy. Everyone told me superflat was for creative only, but i knew they were wrong. I am glad you make vids like this

For some reason I find day 100 and above videos entertaining, especially this series
I'm glad that I found this series, thank you your series is so 👍
This is super entertaining and it's such a unique challenge
wow pretty awesome work the base looks great!
I love how you have such entertaining videos on what I would never do😅
dude i hope you do 200 days i cannot wait to watch this i think this is actually the only video that i watched without skipping like seriously the storytelling and the editing is craaaaazy bro keep up the great work mog
@Davis Family Hobby unlocked the campfire trade with a villager
HOW DID THEY GET THE WOOD FOR A CAMPFIRE
epic video. I'm trying this challenge for myself so for the ilmango farm, do you just swap out the trapdoors for carpets?
Idk whos idea was that but this is "WOW" good job boys! Love you❤️
its crazy how good these mc youtubers get! :)
now this is what i look for in a minecraft challenge 100 days videos the strats, the knowhow, the actual funny bits. finally!
I was going to do this! I didn’t even know this video was out there until I found your channel (which was today). You deserve more than a millions subs!
This was an absolute BANGER!! I was about to do some work, and this sucked me in XD
@arthur_agatapa 2 chunks prob square is better?
ayo..
@arthur_agatapa you can find out yourself by just placing blocks and marking where yo stand when you can nolonger see it :/
@Mogswamp can you tell me the size of the circle of the minimun render distance, ive been doing superflat structureless before yea jaron and you, after seeing you guys videos im amazed of how much you can do, i wanna do in you way but i dont know how too make the big circle for early game
An underated comment with only 1 reply, let me fix that!
It feels like cavemen discovering water and fire its so cool I love this
actually the best minecraft video i ever watched
the narration was soooo good and you kept me wondering what would happen after during all the 20 minutes without gettint bored once!!
bravi.
This is the most interesting 100 days challenge I've seen in a while
Can I ask how you got your mob farm to work properly? In the tutorial mango uses stairs and un-path findable blocks to lead mobs down, but you built yours with just dirt. I’m just asking cuz I’m trying a similar challenge and my farm wouldn’t work
The cat counter board makes me so happy for some reason, it's just adorable.
I was *just* wondering if this would be possible. Looks insanely hard. Thanks, Mog!
@Sebastian Jost no
its not hard it just take luck and time
@Andrew I wouldn't do it, I like foxes(as long as they don't attack my chickens but if there's a lot of them I just place a few polar bears in the fences)
If there were different biomes you could get a fox to spawn and then get emeralds from them to buy a sapling from the trader which you could get apples from, but I’m pretty sure superflat is all plains so…
is there any was to get an Apple before having villagers or wood? (other than the starting chest)
I recently found your superflat video and now Im watching your other videos , keep up the good content Mogswamp!
Holy Jesus you guys are absolute LEGENDS i never tought you could do so much things on a dirt flat wolrd aka "Bedrock super flat world" lol
I never realized how rare getting iron or carrots from a zombie was.. I feel like I’ve done it so frequently
This is Minecraft game knowledge that I didn't even know existed. Well done.
I actually tried this challenge and the tips in this video are very helpful
I just absolutely love how you broke down the 100 days into smaller 10 day periods with the mini cat moving around.
For me, 100 days is just a big fancy number, but when you break it down like that, you start to realize "wow... this guy's actually doing a lot"
Keep it up!!!! Genuinely never thought I'd be so invested over a guy surviving on a barren green wasteland in a video game 😂
@Mikael Foster pinned comment
@Mogswamp 200 days? 🥺
@Mogswamp it was really nice! i think you did a good job on it
That means a lot to me. I wanted to find some unique way to visually represent the amount of days going by and I'm so happy it worked out
such a masterpiece bro i love this vid keep it up!! 😌
its amazing from just a world of dirt they were able to develop this base
Using a one proportion z-test for your zombie kills you can get a one-sided p-value of .0032 and a two-sided p-value of .0063. Which is to say if you were to kill 261 zombies you would get 7 iron or more (being as lucky or more lucky) .32% of the time and get a result so far from the most common result (being this or more unlucky or lucky) .63% of the time.
@Foreign Fat cmon hes just doing some fun math
Why are you explaining it and calculated by the most convoluted way possible? Please, don't be a teacher.
my head is fuzzy but nice
I remember watching you just a few months and if I am correct you only had around 20k subs? Damn have you grown quick!
Definitely one of my favorite videos, it inspired me to play super flat
This is really impressive. Surprisingly interesting. I did not know you could do so much starting with so little.
@Skycrafter64 didn't ask, either of yous so
@Luke Fitzgerald negative, one block is extremely hard and time consuming
@Luke Fitzgerald No, It's Vanilla One Block, No Plugins, No Mods, No Datapacks, It's legit just One singular Block
@Skycrafter64 one block gives random items that you wouldnt normally get in superflat no structures, so this is defo more impressive 😬
I recommend Pinu's Vanilla One Block SkyBlock, this is impressive but Pinu's Playthrough is even more crazy
This is so entertaining to watch! i screamed with happiness when i saw you made 200 days. keep this up!!!!
fun fact: if the biome is set to Taiga, you need no starting resources because of foxes spawning with emeralds in their mouths letting you get a tree from the wandering trader
It’s amazing what you can do with a little resourcefulness
It’s 1AM, I just finished grinding on super flat world time to chill by watching some Mogswamp videos
Love the series 🎉
Id love to see a 200 days. I really enjoyed this challenge. I normally click off a video like this in a few minutes.
As a casual player the impressiveness is off the charts
The probability to get at least 7 iron from 261 zombies is about 0.677% (using a 5/600 drop rate according to the wiki)
To think that something like the freaking wandering trader ... a mob usually only used for free leashes, would be the one to fully unlock everything through trading saplings. As long as a world has mobs, dirt and at least an apple and a workbench, it seems like you can do a lot with just enough patience.
Super flat is actually so fun I totally recommend it.
Omg that was just so good it sounds so borung but the way you tell us what you did and the way you edited it you just cant skip or go forward in the video because you just want to know what they did every day keep going man a sub from here.
I absolutely love it when creators mention other KZcliprs designs and give credit and even link the vids
One day I picture your channel one of the biggest Minecraft KZcliprs. Keep up the great content.
it would have been smarter to reset for saplings in the bonus chest, but this is very clever!
I love how super flat is the only mode where people pay attention to the weather.
