Dear Jeb and Suzanne: thank you for making it possible for me to experience every nuance of this incredible rail/scenery/gastronomic journey. Your production values and commentary are absolutely world-class. In my younger, more able-bodied days I was lucky enough to travel much of the world first class, including 17 transatlantic ocean voyages during the golden era. In my 74th year I am now severely disabled with MS and no longer have the opportunity/money to travel as I might wish. Your videos enable me to experience vicariously what would otherwise be impossible. I wish you a lifetime of great traveling and I look forward to being lucky enough to follow you on your many journeys. Godspeed, Peter
Thanks for this comment, I'm 20yrs behind you & it's a reminder not to procrastinate in doing certain things while I can. I can only wish for your best despite MS.
Yes it is. I've been 4 times. You can't take your eyes off it. My friend and I cry every time the plane takes off to go home. It's like PERU is our home.
I did the day train trip from Puno to Cusco a few years ago, it was an absolutely enchanting day. The service & food was incredible, and I have never seen better views anywhere in the world. The weird thing was the negative reviews online - people complaining that the train was slow, that the seats were armchairs bolted to the floor rather than "proper" train seats, even complaining about the entertainment put on by the crew - I guess there is no pleasing some people!
Corrections...No pleasing Americans! People...trains are always slow. When was the last time you road Amtrak! 🤣I ride the train because it is slow and gives me time the rest and relax!
Few countries have the beauty and diversity of Peru in the World, as a globetrotter I can say, the culture and history of Peru is fascinating in my opinion the most outstanding country in South America.
What an experience ! I've never guessed Perú has such an incredible train! I love all the facts you said about the history of each landscape and all we're not that aware of many past civilizations that lived before us. Amazing journey, you're both are amazing guides to enjoy the train travel , mostly this one! It's really great to know that Perú has this amazing experience to live, unfortunately here in Colombia, we don't have that kind of privilege. Thank you for this, Jeb. Now you have a new subscriber :v
I work in a kindergarten classroom and one year we had this little fella in our class who was from Peru....his name was Sammy and he was one of the happiest, most jovial kids I've ever met. Must have something to do with the high altitudes...whatever it is, he was a great ambassador for the Peruvian people ! ...miss that kid !
I loveeee Peru! It is such a diverse country, it is the fifth most biodiverse country in the world. I just saw videos of the Peruvian Andes. Machu Picchu is wonderful and then I see a video of the only boiling river in the world located in the huge Peruvian jungle, now this desert!! Peru is fascinating! An important fact is that Peru is the 4th country with the most tropical areas in the world, only behind Brazil, Indonesia and Congo. The country is 65% jungle.
Thanks for that info, L. Peru wasn't on my bucket list of places to go before watching this trip. Now it most certainly is! Your few lines just reinforces that.
As a Peruvian, I'm glad you were able to explore the country and see more than just Machu Picchu! (Don't get me wrong, still a must-see, but always good to explore the rest of the country too!) And of course your food was the best, since Peruvian cuisine is the best in the world ;)
@Kishore mali What are you talking about? The culture of the older civilizations live on with the indigenous people of the Andes and the tribes of the Amazon. The Inca Empire aka Tawantinsuyo doesn't exist anymore. The Spanish destroyed it, so you can blame their ancestors for the atrocities they committed. Peru is something completely different now. It is now a blend of different cultures, mainly andean indigenous, european, african, asian, etc.
@Mariana Gutiérrez Funny. Now this is called abuse, back then people had no information how the earth has its own systems, rhythm, seasons so people worshipped gods and thought that they needed to make sacrifices to keep these gods happy. We cannot judge our forefathers for their lack of understanding. It is what it is. What we can do is use the knowledge & information we have to improve our lives and the lives yet to come.
@Mariana Gutiérrez m talking against forceful conversions and eliminating of native customs and people...no matter what the land may be. Humanity first...religion last was my point. Nothing to do with modern day conditions of usa/ latam or asia
@Kishore mali don't know what country you're talking about, honestly. In Peru the beliefs, the religion, the gods that the Incas had never disappeared. The youngest are taught about history and art of our ancestors. but you know what's funny? That the Incas themselves killed their own people for their gods, no one talks about that abuse. Here in Peru, the Europeans mixed with the incas, they did not lose status. Surely you are talking about the United States, they were left with nothing of their indigenous people.😊
South America is a beautiful continent in a way that a person in south india can’t imagine. Train journey at such high altitude is unusual. The scenes are so serene and pristine. Quit a few lakes at such high altitude. The quality of photography has done justice to the place. You are fortunate for having made this journey. Many thanks for sharing your experience with us.
I have been on the Andean Explorer in 2012 and the journey to Puno was awesome! They served Chicha Morada and Pisco Sour. It was an amazing experience with the train chugging slowly through the mountains, reaching the highest point of 4050 mtrs (can't remember exactly the number) in La Raya, the mesmerising Peruvian Altiplano, seeing the tuk tuks in Juliaca and finally, the breathtaking view of Lake Titicaca before it grew dark. Long story made short....overall a 10/10! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.
Peru is the most beautiful country in the world! I'm from Spain and I also visited the country in 2018! the landscapes are wonderful, the culture, the food, its diversity, the kindest people I have met in my life. It absolutely must be on your wish list.
compared to Spain it is...Spain besides architecture, in my opinion its "glorious" cathedrals does nothing for me...not that I am impressed by them because they were built on the blood of those countries they burned and plundered eg.south american continent + ++++
I will never forget Lake Titicaca. Had the awesome experience checking out the Uros Islands with their spongy reefs and going to Tequile Island where I spent the night with a local family and learning a couple sentences in Quechua. A late night thunderstorm turned into an unmistakable beautiful dawn. Ten years since I've been there and the fact I can remember the details explains how great Puno and Lake Titicaca are.
Switzerland is small enough to not need an overnight train, but there is the Glacier Express train ride that is an 8 hour ride focused on tourism with 3 course meals and panoramic windows to enjoy the views of the alps.
I drove through Peru in March 2018, around these same areas along the train route. The terrain and scenery is unbelievable. I'd love to ride this train. Thanks for the video.
Holy cow, that's the nicest train I've never seen before. And the scenery is incredible. Thanks for sharing this with us. I was truly moved. I don't normally like luxury, but I have to admit that train is homey and compliments the scenery outside to a T. What an adventure.
Jeb as a Peruvian I totally recommend the Pacaya Samiria Reserve is basically another universe in the same country. The Amazon forest is just spectacular.
Jeb, I really appreciated hearing you say that the way we live in America is just one of the many ways people call this world home... what an amazing lesson. Helps us truly appreciate the diversity of this amazing place we all call home. Thank you for sharing.
I have been all over the world.Peru is the trip I think about all the time.It was truly magical. The beauty is never-ending. This brings me back to it!!So awesome 🥰
I've never seen your channel before but this was great. I visited Peru in 2009 (didn't use this train at all, though) and it always has a special place for me because the scenery is so utterly beautiful, the people lovely and the food is delicious. It's a country of wild environmental extremes from desert, to mountain, to tundra to jungle. Lima and Cusco are pretty much the only places outside of England where I've thought I could see myself living there.
Great video Jeb loved it. Glad both you and your wife handled the Altitude. Having climbed the highest peak in the Andes (Aconcagua Argentina ) at 6970 m, I can see you guys coped well with the altitude. Best tip drink Loads of water, watch your alcohol intake and do things slowly.
We've traveled extensively throughout our lives but only took a train trip across Ireland which was beautiful. Unfortunately my husband can't travel anymore, but if I'm alone one day I would love to grab a Grandkid or two at a time and explore some train destinations. I really enjoy your videos to see what it's like. So inviting.
I have been visiting Prru about 25 times, I have taking a lot of my American friends, they have fall in love with the cities, landscaping and all the historical places', specially Machu Pichu, Arequipa, Cajamarca znd so many other important places. Love it, my friends are crazy about Peru, many of them have visited Peru more than 3 times.
¡LOVE PERU! my trip through South America Peru took my heart, it's landscapes, its biodiversity, its people, its food, its wonders. It's a wonderful country.
I worked in the Travel Industry for a huge agency and we had incredible travel benefits which allowed us to travel all over the world. I never went to Peru and after watching your video I wish I had. What a beautiful place and that train just made it that much better. Great video.
You guy's are doing things I will never do! So it's nice to see all your journeys! You both, are such a fresh delight! It's nice to see an adorable couple enjoying time together! Not much of that these days! 🤗
It's very surprising that more people don't feature this train, it's a great way to see Peru . And as for standards south america dosnt do it like the USA they do it better;
I live in Ireland but if I lived in Ne Zealand I’m not sure I’d ever want to leave. I have travelled all over the world but Milford Sound is in my Top 5, likely Top 3, incredible travel memories.
What a beautiful train! And I'm with you- I think the outdoor deck would have been my favorite spot, too; especially going through the mountains. Love that they planned excursions everyday, and what amazing sights; volcanoes, prehistoric paintings, beautiful sunrises, a little shopping...So much fun. This was a great video- hope to see more! You guys are so much fun to travel with- thanks for sharing the adventure! Love from CT, USA
This is an underrated channel! I love that there's also history discussed, apart from the presenters being respectful and considerate.. New sub! ❤️❤️❤️💯
This was one of my favorite videos of yours. Thank you! Absolutely beautiful. I think the Peruvians are some of the most accommodating and kind people of our world.
Thank you both very much for that enjoyable Peruvian train ride and sightseeing adventure. The hearty and humble Peruvian people do indeed seem warm and welcoming. Cheers!
I never imagined a travel in the train in Peru could be this rich and mind blowing. I didn't expect this from PERU. Jeb Brooks, you are synonym to world class travel.
Peru was truly Beautiful ❤️ just Beautiful. It felt like we were there. Thank you and don't become boring. And the food looks so gourmet and delicious.
Jeb... Just picked up watching you and your wife's channel. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with all your perfectly detailed videos... You are so correct about the traveling...it's not about the destination but the JOURNEY! My travels around the world have always been about the journey! Thank you to you both for your incredible videos of your travels... hope to see you one day! Brian in Atlanta, GA
Jeb, you both are great. I love the train videos and think they might be my favorite overall. Many thanks to the both of you for brining us these videos. Since I am unable to travel much anymore I feel like I am on the journey with you.
Thanks for this amazing video.
Traseul o frumusete. As calatori ori cand cu acest TREN. Mulțumesc celui(celor) care au realizat filmulețul.
Fantastic train trip and video coverage. Glacier Express Zermatt to St. Moritz 8 hours was awesome, but not even close to this experience.. Bergen, Norway to Oslo 7 hours was no comparison to this train trip.
Awesome video! My wife is from Peru and we’ve traveled there many times over the years…amazing country in many ways. I’ll never forget my first day in Cusco…terrible altitude sickness headache 😱 We’ll definitely look into this journey. Looks like you both had an amazing time.
Wow, wow, wow! What an incredible adventure. Peru is so beautiful. This is now on my travel wish list. Thank you both for another great video. Happy New Year! 🚆⛰
Well, thanks to this wonderful video and these two charming folks recording those spectacular views, Me and my wife are booking a trip! Thank you, guys!
It is good to spend money at local markets like the one at the whistle-stop at 10:00. Most people in rural Peru may look quaint and be friendly but they are not even middle-class. If you can afford the flight to Peru and even this train, you can afford to spend money on the products of the local people, ultimately they make up most of Peru.
WOW! What a beautiful country! I enjoy watching your videos as I am no longer able to fly due to my health. These train videos are the best. I get to see more of the scenery of places I would love to visit and can't. Thank you for the wonderful train trip.
How beautiful is the Peruvian countryside. I didn't know that the sights were so marvelous.
I like how you show your travels without actually compromising the privacy of other passengers. I don't like whenever I pay for first class travels while I'm in someone's else's videos.
That's an incredible experience you guys had. I especially liked how light you took the small inconveniences the train had. Some foreigners are a pain to please.
What a fantastic journey! I regularly watch travel videos and hardly ever feel like I would like to make that trip myself. But this one... this one I wish I would be able to do. A beautiful video!
I never comment but I have to say, you are such a wonderful storyteller. I don't know why the algorithm put your channel on my radar but I am glad it did. Now I am binging and planning trips!
What a beautiful experience. Been twice to Peru, and would love to go back as soon as possible, food, friendly people and those mountains are breathtaking. The Amazon is still pending. Great video. 🦙 🇵🇪
This was my first time seeing your wife so involved and might I say I enjoyed her energy in the video. This video makes me want to hop on a flight to Peru and take this train, thats all I would do and I could come home happy. This journey looked beyond breathtaking.
My late husband and I went in 2005. The most remarkable country snd the people, especially out of the capital areas, were just wonderful. Perhaps not quite in the luxury you did but I still have the most marvellous memories of exquisite, stunning scenery. Thank you for reminding me of a wonderful time. I do remember altitude! 😃😃😃😃. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺
Wow this made me smile so huge! It is an absolute dream of mine to enjoy a deluxe train ride like this. I’ve always been the opposite of claustrophobic lol. Thank you to you and your lovely wife for recording this experience. I became a new subscriber within 3 minutes!
That train is exquisite class. For me it's the ideal combination of modernity and inviting warmth. The leather in the room chairs is buttery; the very highest quality. Even the cushions bespeak extra care and quality in their construction. The food looked superbly prepared with the finest ingredients by master chefs. Honestly, I don't believe anybody in the world could do it better. I made that trip (only backwards heading to Cusco) nearly 50 years ago but we were just backpacker kids. I now live in Peru's neighbor Colombia so maybe...one of these days.
Your attitude about little hiccups you encounter is so... refreshing. No mountains out of mole hills. It comes through that you enjoy your job and are fair with your evaluations.

Hey 👋 was it expensive
Peru has never been on my radar as a destination for a vacation, but after watching this video, it very much is now. What a beautiful country!
Just as a note: literally every country has reasons to go visit! Just gotta find them is all.
I always wanted to go there and Panama for some reason
Sadly the media portrays every country bad
My friend of mine a government worker says they do that on purpose
Show you the bad part of the town
So you don’t want to go
We always laugh 😂
Because he said if they were to show him we’re I’m originally from in Los Angeles
He would have NEVER came to LA
But they showed him Beverly Hills
Same
the video is awesome. I love traveling and I also want to experience it once. Very glad to get acquainted with you.
Im glad it has now. It’s been on my radar for years! I hope one day, for us both.
What a beautiful luxurious train! Wow
yep looks amazing and with the good weather quite the view. At 2000+ a day i would hope it would be that luxurious and worth it and it does look like a great trip.
I am absolutely speechless. I had no idea Peru was this off the charts gorgeous. Wow.
Yes it is. I've been 4 times. You can't take your eyes off it. My friend and I cry every time the plane takes off to go home. It's like PERU is our home.

It's like a cruise but on land! Brilliant idea. And what a gorgeous country!
I wouldn’t take a cruise because they’re horribly polluting but this train is a different story. Flying to get there and back is still an issue though

Peruvian people are usually happy people 🙂

how about food onboard for Indians.
My uncle is 91 and I'm not sure he'll get an opportunity to explore this in person, but your video brought him very close.

@Katherine McChesney Peru food is awful, their ceviche is not.even that good.
@Katherine McChesney we’re talking about Peru not your box here…
@Katherine McChesney is like desert but cold
I never been in Perú but I know is the kindness and good heart of Perú inhabitants. Andines are simple, human beings

The Orient Express is pretty mind blowing too.

Peru is really worth seeing.

Jeb. You are Stunningly Proficient in capturing the very best scenic destinations and travelling. 👍👍
I always wanted to visit Peru 💙 beautiful country 🕊🌈🙏🏼💙🎶
Very nice to see that high standard train service in Peru and surrounded by astonishing nature. Saludos a Perú.
It's very surprising that more people don't feature this train, it's a great way to see Peru . And as for standards south america dosnt do it like the USA they do it better;
It's nice to see the Belmont company maintaining their very high standards set in Europe with the Venice Simplon train which is jaw dropping gorgeous.
Wow that's amazing, you folks are lucky to experience this scenic journey. By the way Jeb, you have perfect voice for narration. Good job!
That coastal desert is unbelievable. An absolute desert next to that intensely blue ocean
Gorgeous - both the views and the hotel room on wheels! ❤
I went to Peru last year and didn't have chance to try the train. It's great to see how it looks like.
Something about Suzanne being in a video changes Jeb's whole vibe, he seems so calm and happy in videos with both of you!
I'm from New Zealand and it's a beautiful country but Peru takes my breath away. One day.
I live in Ireland but if I lived in Ne Zealand I’m not sure I’d ever want to leave. I have travelled all over the world but Milford Sound is in my Top 5, likely Top 3, incredible travel memories.
Yeah the altitude makes it hard to breathe.
Same here..and I'm in Peru... Amazing place. ..
New sub! ❤️❤️❤️💯
What a beautiful country. I could literally spend years at every curves of that creek!!
As a train travel enthusiast I am happy to learn of this one. Definitely going on the wish list. Looks AMAZING
The train, rooms, foods, drinks, and nature’s view are impressive ❤.
Cheers!
By luxury train trip , is difficult to know the Peruvians.
This is one of the most gorgeous trains ever!! I definitely need to travel on it some time!! It looks so cozy and romantic ❤️
Wow! What an incredible trip. Loved learning about Peru, it sounds like a really interesting, culturally rich country. Thanks for educating me!
Jeb, you both are great. I love the train videos and think they might be my favorite overall. Many thanks to the both of you for brining us these videos. Since I am unable to travel much anymore I feel like I am on the journey with you.
Thanks for this amazing video.
Just an amazing journey to the top of Peru.
Frumos trenul si la exterior si la interior. Compartimentarea generoasa si bine amenajata, nu duci lipsa de absolut nimic. Mancare foarte buna si variata.Servirea ireproșabilă. Traseul o frumusete. As calatori ori cand cu acest TREN. Mulțumesc celui(celor) care au realizat filmulețul.
Peru is fascinating! The country of wonders, Machu Picchu is from another world, Peru is my favorite country in Latin America.
Machu Picchu isn't the real name, but someone messed up the name 100 years ago. Huayna Picchu may be more accurate.
Wowowow Peruvians took luxury to a whole new level ❤
The company is not Peruvian, though...
We loved Peru. People were friendly and so kind. Amazed by the wondrous diverse geography of Peru.
It is good to spend money at local markets like the one at the whistle-stop at 10:00. Most people in rural Peru may look quaint and be friendly but they are not even middle-class. If you can afford the flight to Peru and even this train, you can afford to spend money on the products of the local people, ultimately they make up most of Peru.
who is "we" ? some random ppl ?
Wow, that is one incredible looking train trip!
P.S. I'd love to know what type of gear you're shooting with. Beautiful clean wide angle shots.
WOW! What a beautiful country! I enjoy watching your videos as I am no longer able to fly due to my health. These train videos are the best. I get to see more of the scenery of places I would love to visit and can't. Thank you for the wonderful train trip.
What a fantastic journey. Thank you so much for sharing this! Happy travels!
What a stunning trip. I’m glad you both enjoyed it - but what wasn’t to enjoy!
Did not think Peru is such a beautiful place wonderful scenery
Most beautiful country in South America! In my opinion Peru's has the most incredible landscapes, the most authentic food and culture.
@Diana H Yesss! Peru is the most beautiful country in South America! love from Argentina
agree! Peru is the most biodiverse country I have ever seen! its deserts, its coasts, its Andes and its enormous jungle a wonderful country!
Lol you really need to travel!
little things like the shower breaking are things you'll remember years from now and laugh about. What a memorable experience overall!
Your camera takes the BEST shots! So clear and the scenic views are breathtaking!!!
¡Qué lindo es el paisaje de Perú! No supe que las vistas de Perú eran tan maravillosas.
How beautiful is the Peruvian countryside. I didn't know that the sights were so marvelous.
I like how you show your travels without actually compromising the privacy of other passengers. I don't like whenever I pay for first class travels while I'm in someone's else's videos.
This is the best tour of Peru! I want to go and take in all it has to offer; South America, yes. Thank you Jed for sharing this part of the world.
That's an incredible experience you guys had. I especially liked how light you took the small inconveniences the train had. Some foreigners are a pain to please.
How much was it?
It was a luxury trip. Amtrak certainly offers nothing to compare.
What a fantastic journey! I regularly watch travel videos and hardly ever feel like I would like to make that trip myself. But this one... this one I wish I would be able to do. A beautiful video!
Spectacular scenery! Glad you two enjoyed your trip in your upgraded suite. Thanks for the great narration.
I never comment but I have to say, you are such a wonderful storyteller. I don't know why the algorithm put your channel on my radar but I am glad it did. Now I am binging and planning trips!
You two are just so wholesome, kind and beautiful. I absolutely loved you showing us around your stunning trip through Peru!
Aquí te espero cariño 😁
@jobyna mcgee what's that? It's snows every Christmas and weekend where I live so all good!
@Kiran Patel I thought those were a narcotic?
Definitely booking a flight to Peru. Good option for altitude sickness is chew on coca leaves!
I now live in Peru's neighbor Colombia so maybe...one of these days.
omg, the scenery is so beautiful. Hope I get to travel this route one day. Thanks for sharing!
Love and respect to beautiful Peru.... from India 🇮🇳
I ❤️ traveling by trains .🚊🚆🚂
The scenery.🥰
Your attitude about little hiccups you encounter is so... refreshing. No mountains out of mole hills. It comes through that you enjoy your job and are fair with your evaluations.
