Like legit this looks perfect to me, voice acting is excellent, animation is a chef’s kiss, plot looks interesting and the characters design ARE INCREDIBLE ESPECIALLY BOWSER THEY NAILED HIM!!!
Say what you want but I have very high hopes for this movie. They did not disappoint. And Chris Pratts Mario voice? Sure, it's not what I was expecting. But, I actually like it. While hearing Mario with a heavy Italian accent would be cool,.it would be jarring to hear him talk like that all the time. Chris' voice works in that regard. Sure, it sounds mostly like himself, but he did stylize it a bit, and it's perfectly fine.
Charles Martinet, the original VA for Mario is literally in this movie and he is able to tone down the accent. It wouldn't bother anyone if he spoke in a way less exaggerated Italian accent but just say his iconic lines like "let's go" or "here we go!" in the exact same way.
@GameZoid__ My thoughts exactly, I'm pretty darn sure that the movie will see Mario and Luigi getting yanked sideways through reality to a magical realm before having to play the part of heroes. I imagine it will take them a while to finally embrace that role, after all, the pair of them are plumbers, but once they finally do decide to just roll with it and be the heroes that the mushroom kingdom needs, the result will be pure awesome.
Yeah it would be annoying if there were doing the voice for a full movie but they can dill it down and still make it sound like mario, like the french version

If child me we here and saw all the Mario content we're getting he'd probably be screaming at the top of his lungs in excitement and honestly I wouldn't blame him at all! Chris Pratts, Jack Black's, and Kegan's voices are too good too, way better than I thought! I also LOVE Mario's look here!

I for one don't think that the floating island is actually bowsers castle, I think it's a "mobile siege fortress" designed to lay siege to entire kingdoms by itself. I'm pretty sure that bowsers actual castle is still sitting in his home territory. I think this movie is going to be awesome.

People complaining about Mario Pratt voice and accent. You do know there’s a reason why Charlie almost never had full sentence in the games only a few only few words because it will get annoying. It would not transition well in the big screens. Chris going for a Brooklyn accent is so much better than astereotypical Italian accent. People just don’t get it.
@Nin10doland The description for Goombas in the original SMB instruction booklet was "traitors to the Mushroom Kingdom". This will presumably be his first time invading, meaning the Goombas haven't turned traitor and joined up yet in that scene. As long as that scene takes place prior to his invasion of the Mushroom Kingdom, which seems likely.
And toad does not know who Mario is he just told him hes name Mario has never been there before in this it's all new for him just like it's new to us ok
I think Mario’s voice is not great I think who ever think Mario’s voice is great I think is crazy and maybe I just change my mind on it but for now it’s not great

Surprisingly really good! They did a great job with the animation, voice-acting, world-building, and the fitted tone being light hearted and dark!

It's just so underwhelming, Pratt didn't even attempt to sound like Mario at all. The comedy looks lukewarm and Mario's overall design is a little off
