I love the insight Trevor brings to America about what's going on in other parts of the world and helping people understand that their normal is not everyone's normal, since Americans are often ignorant of what's happening on the rest of the planet. You can hear them slip up in news reports sometimes, saying something like "this is the biggest issue in the world right now" when in reality no other country is currently battling that issue.
I 100% agree that Americans are often ignorant of issues outside of the US (I’m American). I, personally, would love to learn about other countries and cultures for many reasons. But having grown up in the US, we are barely taught anything that isn’t about the US or that doesn’t center the conversation around the US. Like WW1, we are not taught about the devastating affects it had on other countries, only our own. For WW2, it was also completely centered on the way it affected Americans. FFS, I was literally taught that the nuclear bombs the US dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were necessary and justified. But there was little conversation on how those areas were affected, short or long term. All of this being said, it is absolutely unacceptable that when presented with issues affecting other countries, most Americans basically don’t give a fuck. Our culture drills individualism into everyone, basically saying that we are responsible solely for ourselves and that anyone needing help is inferior. It doesn’t help that channels like Fox perpetuates those ideas, and actively works to ensure their viewers don’t trust any sources other than Fox, “Fox approved” sources, or things that confirm their ideas. We have been moving toward fascism for decades, working to isolate ourselves, and in the last few years that process has gone into hyperdrive. Anyway, I don’t disagree with what you said and I find it quite frustrating myself.
Escalator bit had me dying laughing! Had me lookin for my inhaler no joke😆but because he’s freakin hilarious with his imitations, he’s on point with mimicking different accents, he does a great job at just having fun about true things that different nationalities do as well as making it not only comfortable but you just naturally feel at ease the way he goes about doing those kinds of jokes, and making real everyday life and facts hilarious!😂 I also appreciate the amount of intelligent creativity that goes into his shows and applaud him on the fact that because of his artistic intellect that he doesn’t swear constantly like most comedians and the fact that he can speak 6 languages! That’s incredible especially when you become an adult, kids can soak up things so quickly so big props! He’s the only comedian I truly feel would be huge in any movie/show…damn he can act! This man is so hysterical before you know it 3 hours have gone by and you still want to hear more. Oh and can’t end this long commenting with out stating how attractive this mans intelligence is! 💯👏🏽🤣

What is this ongoing feud over comic’s education? Many comics have college degrees. A few have graduate degrees and then there are those like Ken Jeong M.D. who is clearly an educated man. I don’t know what Trevor’s education consists of but I do know he has brought clear enunciation, correct grammar and a polite way of speaking to the US TV AUDIENCES.

One of the best autobiographies I’ve ever read was Trevor’s “Born a crime”, but when I got it on Audible, with him reading it himself it was better still! What an amazing man; overcoming adversity and becoming an inspiration. Come to the UK, I would buy tickets for everyone, family and friends. Comedian? No, that’s just who he is, and how he sees the world. He is so real. Life is weird!

I just realized that at the part where he's talking about the sign language interpreter, he's actually signing along for a bit. This man is a linguistic genius.
Trevor is a true treasure to listen to. He uses his intelligence to not only make you laugh but also think and understand other people in other cultures. I love truly intelligent comedy. I loved George Carlin though he was more vulgar his intelligent comedy made you think…I love it! Trevor has the added advantage of being a nice piece of eye candy which is the cherry on top!

One of the best autobiographies I’ve ever read was Trevor’s “Born a crime”, but when I got it on Audible, with him reading it himself it was better still! What an amazing man; overcoming adversity and becoming an inspiration. Come to the UK, I would buy tickets for everyone, family and friends. Comedian? No, that’s just who he is, and how he sees the world. He is so real. Life is weird!

@Janice Foster Great, enjoy! I got both! I prefer reading in most cases too, but the local languages, inflections etc. in his own voice make this one the exception to the rule. (I think this is the only time I found that the audio is better than the written word).

Trevor uses his comedy to teach. Like George Carlin, he must be listened to. Funny, but not the kind of broad slap stick that can be good, too. I like all sorts of comedy if the comedian has some smarts.
