You make building a home from a shipping container looks so easy. It’s not only economical but also beautiful. I love this idea. All it took was a shipping container and common sense.
bill joe , didn’t you see there’s shower 🚿 inside the bathroom . Next project he can instal hot tub 🛀 outside w nice view . I can live in this house by myself
I really love this video to extent that I watch it everyday. I really wish there would more details about everything from the scratch. Thanks, I can't wait to see more of this from you
I have read that you need to use spray on insulation with container homes because it stops moisture getting between the insultation and the container which would cause rust- but this ceiling insulation option looks way easier and more cost effective. Does anyone know if this would cause moisture problems?
This is one of the most fulfilling videos I have ever seen. It's my most favourite videos in your channel until now. Such a lovely home! I really hope Pete enjoys living here and has a prosperous life! Where is this?
$45,000? That is at least a million dollar view, great work guys I love it! I am a big fan of alternative living whether it's Tiny Homes, RVs, campervans, and container homes. Gotta love the imagination!
Norbury53 Let me see, What if build a floating house like that. Do I have to pay for the land? Which I mean is buy a crane lift the house off the ground. Just pay the land that crane's four wheel occupied.
I enjoyed watching this video. Love the outcome. I've been doing my research on this and I hope to soon be able to buy a piece of land to build one for my family. Dream goals.
This is absolutely incredible. I've always wanted to build a shipping container house and this is really inspiring. The pop-out and angled windows are ideas I might have to 'borrow'. Great work on the outside too. I love the ivy but I prefer when shipping containers houses are left to look like shipping containers. That wouldn't be appropriate here though. I think Adam might be the smiliest man on Earth.
this man lived my dream!!! Congratulations, the container house turned out to be the most beautiful thing in the world, and being able to see this happy man made my night a thousand times better. :)
Great design! I love the deck and all the windows and the great view! I'd like to see what it looks like now, a year later with the tree and plants starting to mature a bit.
I got my husband in to it, but with 2 children and a mom I would need like 4 of those shipping containers, so if for a 1 bedroom cost him aprox 50 K it would near cost me 100 K or more almost the cost of a house!! I dont see how this would save us money unless your single or a couple with no kids, I hate the real state for the inflated house costs. You'd be paying that house for the rest of your last miserable days.
+J297WFD Do your homework and compare all your options by making a cost spreadsheet. I suggest you build a container shop first to learn (they make excellent shops, mine kept my equipment dry during the rains from Hurricane Joaquin), and because it will make building any home much easier. I have two High Cubes (don't even consider standard height containers or anything under the forty-foot size for serious living quarters. Have fun, and you will have more fun if you do THOROUGH homework first.
Like the exterior protrusion of the window ,which gives a break up of the box effect. The top casement is an awesome idea. My question is how does the exterior casement fit into the exterior concave surfaces of the Shipping Container? Are you reinforcing the windows and doors with metal framing around the edges? Did not see a shower or bathtub be installed. What about a Laundry Room?
This is perfect. I just bought a block and want to do this exact thing. Is there a list or any measurements or anything written down in regards to this project? I can wing it but would love to have a bit of backup into.
I have put alot of though into this. I would use welded angle iron frames to reinforce the door and window openings and set the windows in flush with the wall like in a normal house. I would use metal studs for framing, using the narrow studs to furr the exterior walls. Insulation would be sprayed on urethane foam which provides insulation and vapour barrier in one. This can also be applied to the roof and coated for added insulation and roofing in one, which would be my prefernce for joining multiple units. The exterior could also be clad in ridgid styrofoam insulation and then sided over with choice of exterior finish.Or because these are made from Corten Steel they could be sand blasted and left to rust for a natural almost rustic look with no worry of the shell rusting away. I would sand and stain the floors and use an epoxy based sealant. This way any possible contamination would be sealed , and the Teak plywood is naturally beautiful. The rest of the construction would be standard practices. One would have to keep in mind local buildings codes, most juristictions would require an engineer because of the non typical construction type. Also cutting open large sections or stacking and cantilevering them would require substantial reinforcement. These may not be a cheap building type for everyone, but for someone with metal working skills, construction knowledge and access to heavy equipement and tools it would be reasonable. 2 major advntages are that you are starting with a weather tight enclosure, and they are modular and easily moved meaning they could be constructed offsite which has substantial savings for cabins/ homes in remote areas.
This house is the Best for Newly Wed Couples or Bachelors. Modern and Sleek looking inside and a Million Dollar View of Nature Outside. Its awesome. 😍😍
Such a beautiful home out of shipping container. The best part is that they gave a full one of the v smart tutorial how to build it. Hats off for creating such a beautiful home n a beautiful garden in such a beautiful natural surrounding
This is the best Vid on container homes I have seen on KZclip. This is very well thought out from the ceiling to the wall construction. I love this concept for low cost college student housing. I am pumped. Do more of these vids. Please with more detail. Thanks.
Great job. Inspiring to actually watch how this is done. What kind of studs are used to join everything? What type of insulation? How is the heating, electical and water supply installed or substituted?
Trully amazing. I am so captivated and lead my thoughts into my farmhouse in the country side where I can build one. I wish I can get more advice about how to build this such amazing tiny house.
Wow that's awesome and if I had that much money I would love to have one just like that one in the video. Good job to you all and that's the life I'd choose to have if I didn't have to work.
If you think about durability and insulation, pvc window should be used. Double PvC windows and double glazing are also recommended. Install the mosquito net in the outer window. Low cost aluminium window Use.
I so want to do this so bad!!!! I think life should be this simple. Not having 30+ mortgages, paycheck to paycheck, living on top of each other. It's just crazy to me.
It’s my dream to build my own house with shipping containers. I would actually build a huge basement with concrete which will include theater, play room, and storage. Then above, I would actually use 2 containers for more space with lots of huge windows for living and kitchen. Then I would also include a container above but set up as a cross. It would include master bed, bathroom and office. Above that, I would have a terrasse. I’ve even started to learn sketchup and will learn unreal to render everything to perfection. I don’t now why but it brings me so much joy just thinking about it.
by dat time much more mass production cheaper solution will show up on a market check out boxable homes atm is not cheap but when mass production rolls out :)
What are the lowest temperatures like in the location of this home? Did you take a dew point in the wall into consideration? I think there might be a risk of condensation right on the internal surface of the metal sheet once the vapor will pass the insulation layer as I didn't see you using any vapor barrier.
I just wanted to say after watching the entire episode you guys have fantastic craftsmanship and ideas and you seem to just have great attitude while you're doing it and love the accents All Things Considered great job
Fantastic design! But how did you get the last piece of the ceiling unit into place when there was no more sliding room, did the end door of the container open high enough to allow the room? Other than that the only thing missing is an eating island between the window and kitchen. However it's really beautiful.
Overall Great Design. I would have put in real hardwood floors though and put two transparent poly panels in front of the Patio Doors to bring in more light.
Nice design. I have a 40' on my property and now I know what to do with it. Only thing I might change is add a 2nd 40' for width and maybe a 20' to increase and create a master suite. Are there any tips for laying the footings?
a 40 footer is bigger than most people think, it's 320 square feet when built out, insulated and dry walled. I'm planning on doing one but I live in Hawaii and i'm putting my kitchen and dinning area outside on the deck because we as a society in Hawaii spend 90%, or more honestly, of our time outside. I also came up with some space saving ideas, I'm not going to have a full size oven, 2 years ago I bought a 9 function countertop air fryer/oven and haven't used my full size oven more than a couple times since, General rule of pairing down/living tiny, if you don't use it more than once or twice in a 6 month period you don't need it. I have my air fryer/oven, Microwave, pressure cooker and crock pot, there's literally nothing I can't cook. While it's true I'm never going to cook a full sized Thanksgiving turkey, I won't ever cook one anyway, It's just me and my Gf and there are big enough to cook a Turkey Breast, the green bean casserole I'll cook in the crock pot, The deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and gravy I can make in the Microwave and they can all be stored away on a open shelf out of the way when they aren't being used.
@Tezra TV if you are really interested in having a tiny house you can send me your email address so that we can talk more better if you really don't mind?
@Naya please share your progress when you start doing this because I'm so interested in buying some shopping containers and turn them into homes for my family and I. I'm also interested in buying some land to put them on but I have no idea where to begin.
CustomGadget you can do it the containers are like 2000usd im buying some to put on these residential lots I have. Solar and propane are the way to go for power. I haven't figured the water im in a urban city so ill probably have to do city water.
My dad wants to live off grid and owns 400 acres in Scotland so he's had 7 40 foot containers (the high ones) ordered and moved there for a 5 person family home and so far it's looking badass (he's building it with some help)
I wish folks would spend a little more time on ventilation and humidity control in their videos, this is an issue in all homes but especially smaller homes and tight fit homes. Nice video, love the design, good floor plan, in small homes keeping it simple but super functional, keep sharing. Prayers to all on the home journey.👌
Its been my dream to build a shipping container home. With the huge suburban prices $45k gets you the toilet seat. Perfect view and perfect location. Thumbs up.

Cannot believe just how beautiful this looks and to think it started out as a shipping container. It's really gorgeous. Great work!:)
By far, this has got to be one of my favorite container home building projects. They made it look easy and fun putting it together.
This is the best I have seen so far. Thank you for making this look so simple! My husband and I are planning to retire on our land. We love this!
I never seen anything more beautiful than this entire project ❤️❤️❤️
What's not to love? More people should do this and grow their food. Bravo!
This is one of the nicest shipping container homes I've ever seen! So simple and clean. I love it!
bill joe , didn’t you see there’s shower 🚿 inside the bathroom . Next project he can instal hot tub 🛀 outside w nice view . I can live in this house by myself
Clean? Ya he showers in the lake
Stunning! Truly shocking to see the transformation from the dark interior of that container to the gorgeous home it became. Well done!
Okay, I'll be honest: not normally a fan of this sort of thing but this looks bloody brilliant. I could definitely live in that.
Love it …that what we wanted to build at the backyard of our daughter . Love the floor plan love the balcony love everything ❤️10 stars
Gosh, I LOVE this. I'd love to build something like this on the perfect piece of land.
This is absolutely beautiful. Great job guys
This is beautiful. There are so many options and budgets for shipping container homes. This is a great retirement idea!!
I really love this video to extent that I watch it everyday. I really wish there would more details about everything from the scratch. Thanks, I can't wait to see more of this from you

Norbury53 Let me see, What if build a floating house like that. Do I have to pay for the land? Which I mean is buy a crane lift the house off the ground. Just pay the land that crane's four wheel occupied.
You can do it for 12000
Yes, that is a steal. But he earned it, :)
Wow. I would love to have a set up like this one day.
Brilliant. Love the windows and the space saving method for the insulation
Trabalho de mestre, saludos desde Brasil 🇧🇷
I enjoyed watching this video. Love the outcome. I've been doing my research on this and I hope to soon be able to buy a piece of land to build one for my family. Dream goals.
One of the simplest and best shipping containers I've ever seen
This is absolutely incredible. I've always wanted to build a shipping container house and this is really inspiring. The pop-out and angled windows are ideas I might have to 'borrow'.
Great work on the outside too. I love the ivy but I prefer when shipping containers houses are left to look like shipping containers. That wouldn't be appropriate here though.
I think Adam might be the smiliest man on Earth.
+TheCodFather Did you ever get your house from Lowe's?
Matthew McCrory yea he definitely does smile
+Matthew McCrory (theawkwardstag) "borrow"!!! steal you mean!!!!
+Matthew McCrory (theawkwardstag) "borrow"!!! steal you mean!!!!
+TheCodFather that's what I was thinking
So beautiful, so inspiring. I can't wait till October when i begin my own container home. Keep up the amazing work. Great job.
Use closed cell spray foam insulation. What they did is a huge error.
And how? can you show your container?
Thank you for showing the neat process in making this container a home.
That's awesome! Now that's what I was thinking price wise for a shipping container home.
That location is freaking mint too!
Beautiful! Great job! 👍🏻🔨🏡
this man lived my dream!!! Congratulations, the container house turned out to be the most beautiful thing in the world, and being able to see this happy man made my night a thousand times better. :)

That is just a beautiful project guys. Enjoyed so much watching it.
i love that Aussie's say almost everything with a smile. lol.
..also, I think shipping container homes are brilliant. I've always wanted to build one.
Great looking place for a reasonable price and if you get sick of the location, sell the land and take it to a new block with a view.Great concept.
Love it! Makes me wanna start with mine as well :) But, with 2 containers
Wow! I would love to have one built for me. Beautiful landscape!
That nice to hear from you
Love it. This video just convinced my wife to let us build on on some land! I'm excited thanks for the video!

I've been studying building container homes and found a great resource at Magic Container Plans (google it if you're interested)

I'd love to see what it looks like today, 3 years later. I want to see what the climbing plants look like now.
@Smy Choeun Thank you for the link!
How many years can this house last?
@Michael Self home of the brave land of the no so free. It’s ridiculous the regulations they put on people that just want to build themselves a home.
I need the photos this house indoor and outdoor please 🤗😊👍 I am Sri Lanka. Sandaruwan
super great on this!! big ideas yet economical 💙👍
I would do 2 or 3 containers. Love this idea.
This is fantastic! 😍👍

This is an amazing build, and the price is awesome 👌 👏 🙌 💞💥
Awesome - simple, cheap and beautiful.
Simply superb the way this was built with a panoramic view of the entire lake and the hills. Wow! Best Wishes from Darjeeling, India 👍👏👏👏
I am so satisfied watching this ❤️ I love every detail about it❤️
Someday in the future (probably 10-20 years) I will build my own shipping container. I'd use about 4-5 containers though.
by dat time much more mass production cheaper solution will show up on a market check out boxable homes atm is not cheap but when mass production rolls out :)
Why wait start now and add on to your layout or plan over those years. Tomorrow is never promised. Live your dream today.
Mine would be 3, U Shaped. This one is so beautiful with a lake in the front. :)

Adam you did a great job 🖒🖒🖒
Please keep up we'll be waiting for more 💖
Here I am, living in a 120m²-brick-house and I'm starting to envy this guy with his container-home.. That thing is fantastic!
What did you do to keep the cutout from sagging? Did you add any structural support?
Wow that looks beautiful. Such a great job.
Not a fan of Better Homes & Gardens but this is a great build.
I wanna build one so bad! My family would love this!! Our pockets would love this. We would be able to save up so much money for our children. >.

the key is finding land and getting zoning approval. this guy has a very nice spot for his home
Awesome job on the shipping container!
I would love to do something like this but after doing some research it seems like here in the UK it would be almost impossible
My dad wants to live off grid and owns 400 acres in Scotland so he's had 7 40 foot containers (the high ones) ordered and moved there for a 5 person family home and so far it's looking badass (he's building it with some help)
Beautiful, best design I’ve seen yet!
Hello leah how are you doing!!
Wow. Never thought something like this was possible. I'm sold 100% .love it!😁
muito pratico a forma que foi usada para revestir o container, vou utilizar deste método. Thank's!
It’s amazing the space in the container when the hose is constructed. Wow.
This makes me want to build my own home 😁
I wish folks would spend a little more time on ventilation and humidity control in their videos, this is an issue in all homes but especially smaller homes and tight fit homes. Nice video, love the design, good floor plan, in small homes keeping it simple but super functional, keep sharing. Prayers to all on the home journey.👌
Hello Ana how are you doing!!
Do you consider the interior insulation better than the exterior one?
Almost anything looks stunning on million dollar land😂 But, yes, this turned out dreamy. Beautiful job!
classemag lucky we know your profession now. Was about to ask. 🙄😂
Im am investment broker and I've seen a lot of beatiful land with amazing landscape being lived on like trash.
This is most inspirational. I reckon that container homes are the way to go. Thanks ever so much for posting.
Ficou 10!
Its been my dream to build a shipping container home.
With the huge suburban prices $45k gets you the toilet seat.
Perfect view and perfect location.
Thumbs up.
do you need insulation at the windows even with the window frame welded into place? I mean around the edges, or does the window placement cover the gaps?
