SpongeBob speedruns are extremely broken

Eazy casually coming back after 2 weeks with 45 minute Spongebob speedrun is pure bliss, props for 9 years of dedication

As someone who glitch-hunted/ran this game right at launch its wild to see how much is the same and how much its changed. I remember when "kobe-ing" the ball in mermalair was just a pipe dream lol

Crazy how the original Battle for Bikini Bottom speedrun relies heavily on the cruise bubble for cruise boosting while in Rehydrated, you only use it for the final boss.

I just love how in the Battle for Bikini Bottom speedrun, you need the Robo Patrick fight to unlock cruise boosting, which is essential to the run, then in Rehydrated, you skip it entirely. Perish Robo Patrick.

I liked the Taxi Glitch before the game got updated where you could just warp straight to the final boss from the beginning of the game. This run feels more technical and involved, though.

I'm a little surprised how much love went into this game, especially in an era of cash grab games

Would love to see a speedrun of the movie game, was my favorite spongebob game as a kid. The speedrun for this game back on patch 1.01 was stupidly broken, you used to be able to skip all the way to the plankton and sponebob boss, game would give you all the abilities automatically when you did the skip.

I loved this game as a kid and I loved it when Rehydrated came out. Now on to the new one!

The only experience i have speedrunning rehydrated is day 1 when you could press a/x and space bar at the same time and just instant warp to the final boss

I'm surprised you didn't mention the other speedrun for this game at all. Where you just immediately warp to the last boss and abuse the hell out of it

you should definitely go back and check that go-through-the-wall bubble-bowl glitch; could be used for some crazy out-of-bounds skips

Kelp forest being overly decimated with one glitch feels so right - least favourite level for me and I always tried to do all other places first and got all spatulas so that I could spend the least amount time in Kelp forest

Fun fact: when on the switch if you hold z or zr( I think one of those if not the other two buttons on the top) and then you can walk whole automatically sneaking.

Beating Larry’s time took me 2 weeks I stg that was insane! I hope I’m not the only one

the "duplicate" sock in sand mountain is actually due to the cutscene sock being separate from the gameplay sock, and the devs kinda just... didn't expect you to stand on the spot where it drops down. so you're collecting a sock that was meant to only be a cutscene object, not a collectable sock.
also the glitch with the Downtown wheels in other levels isn't directly making the game thing the objective is complete. it makes the game think just for a moment that you have 11 of the level-specific collectable for whatever level you warp to, and that's more than enough to make the quest giver give you the golden spatula. technically this can be done between any two levels with such collectables, but downtown is the most useful since it has 11, the most out of all the levels.

Lol could you imagine if any of this absolutely wacky logic was applicable in real life?

There actually is a way to press sneak with SpongeBob while using a controller by holding the left trigger and avoid having to slightly press the stick!

it pains me he didnt know it was a saxophone right at the end of that level.....

You guys ever wonder if devs watch speed runs of their games to find glitches? Like some of them don't ruin the game and are helpful only for speed runners like the weird jumps he keeps doing but then there are game breaking bugs they've found before that ruins the game.

This reminded me of the rocket power game (I think on GameCube or PS2?). Not familiar with speedruns of that game but I'd love to see you run that
