@AGoat1971 Ronaldinho handsome? I’m not into men, but I’m not sure to put it kindly, if he’s what you would consider “attractive.” Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder or something like that.
Football fans tend to have short memories, and sadly these days Becks tends to get overlooked largely because of the level of fame he achieved. People often say he was a "one trick pony", who was only good at crossing and free kicks (and even if that were true, *what* a 'trick' it was!), but his game wasn't just about that. Yes, his free kicks and crossing ability was second to none, but the guy had some serious skill elsewhere too!. He had great ball control and a fantastic first touch, his work rate was off the charts, he was adaptable (switching from a pacey winger to a more central position later in his career as his pace dropped off) and his vision was possibly the best the game has ever witnessed! His ability to drop a ball at someone's feet from 60 yards away was absolutely outrageous! He could cut defences open with ease. Me and my friends used to refer to his crossing as "Hollywood Balls", because they were the sort of ridiculous pass you'd only ever see in an unrealistic Hollywood movie! Yet he was doing them in real life, game after game after game!! He was also incredibly dependable too. Becks ALWAYS stepped up in the biggest of games when his team needed him the most. He is, without doubt, one of the best players England has ever produced. I doubt we'll ever see someone like him again.
@William Carter No, he never had a lot of pace and didn't go on mazy dribbles, but he didn't need to. He wasn't that type of player. Becks had the ability to play a 60 yard lofted pass from deep within his own half and drop the ball at a strikers feet in the final 3rd. When he could do that, why did he even need to dribble past anyone? One pass could bypass the oppositions entire defence AND midfield. Yeah he probably could have scored more for England, but again, that's not what really what he was about. It's better to look at his overall contribution. He got 42 assists for England, which is a fairer gauge for the type of player he was and the role he played from midfield, and coupled with his 17 goals means he was directly responsible for 59 goals in 115 games, which is slightly better than 1 goal contribution every 2 games. That's pretty impressive!
He was the best of his generation. Put the sponsorships aside, the guy set up a football academy paying for the staff trainers venue all out of his own pocket. He is a genuine, kind hearted man and one of the greatest of all time. Of all the famous footballers you’ll hear about, not one of them has done so much or given so much away for the benefit of others.
Great player - but not quite the saint your hype- post makes out. Those who have seen his snide emails over dying to be knighted / taken easy Qatar world cup money (with that regime) knows there is a much more dodgy side to him. #perspective
Becks was a terrific player and I loved him. He wasn't fast, he didn't have magical touch/ball skills and he wasn't box-to-box, but as an intelligent, direct and instinctive attacking midfielder he was absolutely deadly. Everyone knows how good his crossing was, and how a free-kick for him was virtually a penalty kick. But his goals from open play were absolutely sensational too. He has a highlight reel a mile long. United (and England) legend.
@Beej J OK. Point taken. I guess even I've been influenced by the relentless anti-hype of the last 20years that he was an average footballer and more of a celebrity - and I'm a massive fan. He was a great player, and he was an amazing leader too - mainly for England.
Don't forget his work rate. His flat out sprint speed wasn't amongst the elite, but he could cover a lot of ground very fast, which he did a lot and sustained it throughout the whole match. Whenever there was a loose ball, even if there were 2 or 3 players closer to it, he was usually still either the first there or at least close enough to force a mistake. Whenever an attack broke down he would chase back straight away. Always closing the opposition down and denying them time and space. Always trying to find space when the team had possession. There's a highlight reel of the 2001 England vs Greece match on youtube if anyone wants a refresher of the sort of thing i mean kzclip.org/video/IUBk0J9ijjU/бейне.html It's not something that you think of much when talking about the all time greats, but it definitely made a huge difference on top of his other skills.
I saw him live in ‘97 at Anfield. He was imperious against us. His delivery from out wide is the best I’ve ever seen. He was definitely at his best with Man U as they had a perfect balance in midfield.
I know a guy who was in the youth squad at United who never made it to the first team tell me that Beckham was always the first one on the pitch for training, and the very last one off. Good work ethic is what builds careers.
Beckham's ability to bend the ball and pick out players from long range was very special. Even Madrid players, World class players, were in awe. I remember R.Carlos saying something like he would leave the free kicks to Beckham just to watch him bend it in.
Beckham was a playmaker. His passing, dribbling and vision for this reason was some of the best football has ever seen. However, when he took a shot he also possessed the ability to score. One of the best of his generation. 👌🏼👍🏼
Beckham didn't decline since 2004. He simply changed positions from SMF to CMF or DMF and these are positions where it's easier to get cards. It must also be said that Real Madrid played with Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo and Raul and Beckham was one of the few who defended and often had to close on the position errors of others. 13:05 "a lot of red cards" (?). 6 red cards in 517 league appearances aren't many cards for a midfielder. Clearly, clearly the best right foot ever in kicking the ball. Whoever criticizes Beckham as a footballer, I don't think has a clue what football is.
All of these so called Football know it all’s calling Beckham overrated, makes me laugh a lot……If the likes of Zidane, Ronaldo and Luis Figo speak very highly of him, I will happily go with their opinions thank you!!
All the positions you mentioned are easily supported by the players around him. He was alright with the free kick or any set play from stoppage. His career was best summed up Eng. vs. Arg. where he was made look foolish (and he knew it)by how easily he lost the ball, feigned a foul (something he couldn’t do when playing with Roy Keane) and when he didn’t get the call kicked at his transgressor( who was good at feigning and got the foul) and sent off. Bi bi bent Becky like heck him. That’s all folks.
Apart from the world class freekicks and passes/crosses I think he was a very clever player and read the game so well. What he lacked in pace or dribbling skills for example he made up in great decision making. Added he was very consistent, a hard worker and had a strong presence which made him a good leader. From a Liverpool fan.
A free kick specialist and had every pass known to man in his locker. Zidane and other legends speak very highly of him and his ability....enough said.
Not only is he an awesome player who is so underrated but he is also the guy who single handedly changed the image and financial aspect of football forever.
His workrate was out of this world, he covered more ground than any other player. His partnership down the right with Neville was phenomenal. For me Beckham playing career was underated to his personal career
@jakatom Hell nah bro. Almost any player that gets videos made about him about how good he is has to be good. Mediocre players don't get talked about at all
@defandra nurredityo The only reason he played on the wing is because he happened to have two of the best central midfielders of all time ahead of him in the team, Scholes and Keane. Central midfield was always the position he was destined to play, that the fans saw him playing and that he himself wanted to play. He was just unlucky/lucky enough to play alongside Scholesy and Keano. So Fergie played him out wide instead.
100% agree. Beckham was remembered as a right midfielder with accurate pass and lethal freekick taker. But i believe people forgotten before he became famous as RMF, he was playing at CMF and excel at it. It was at real madrid that he began to switching back to CMF. His workrate was underappreciated, and peoples seem to underestimating his hardwork and professionalism on and off the pitch, just because he was somehow labeled as too posh and glamourous
When Beckham pass the ball to the striker, it's the ball who find the striker, even if the striker pit-guarded by 2 players. Miss those times. Great generation of United.
The thing people forget was that he worked liked a dog. Tireless... great defensively and had a great engine - infectious drive and energy! A great role model!
Good video, but Beckham didn't decline at least until 2007, in 2005-06 season Beckham made 17 assists and was also named Real Madrid's Player of the Season, the same season.
If you look at the stats it may appear as if he had declined, this is simply a misconception though. He often played centrally and deeper for Madrid so naturally didn’t get as many goals or assists. Sometimes you just have to watch football with your eyes 🤷♂️
As a Manchester United fan, im honoured that i got to witness greatness growing up! Beckham was one of the greatest players to have never won the ballon d'or.. That freekick against greece in 2001, even 20 years later still gives me goosebumps! But the 1999 Champions league final will always be my favourite!
I think Beckham is the only player in history who managed to change Fabio Capello’s mind. He thought Becks was a prima donna while he preferred players with high work rate, so he benched him. Beckham never complained and kept working, in the second half of the season he played crucial role in winning la liga for the first time in years.
@Yong Keong Ng Bekham has 66 free-kicks,,95%+ long pass accuracy. The highest. There is saying " Bekham's ball can find a person even in the desert" . Its for a reason. There is no one close to him when it comes to accuracy,,not Messi not Ronaldo not pele . Precision is next level.
@Keith sorry but cr7 is one of the great passers but not crosser usually his game was dribbling finishing positioning for finish heading and passing his crosses were always sidelined
@SKY-B2500 I'm an Arsenal fan but I witnessed his greatness & watching this, I realised he is better looking now than he was then, so not sure what u are on about.. lol
In absolute terms, he was an excellent player, one of the best strikers of a ball we've seen, whether passing, shooting or crossing. His crossing, in particular, was incredible. But in comparative terms .... he was a level or two below a couple of his own midfield partners in Keane and Scholes, so it's hard to get too excited.
He was the most famous footballer in the planet for a few years but he didn't buckle under pressure. He continued to perform at the highest level. Other athletes do not thrive under pressure and under global spotlight, that's how you know this man was an elite footballer in his prime.
I started watching Man United games in the 00s just cause I fangirled over becks' looks, I kept doing it for 4 years non-stop because of the glorious player he was. Nothing will compare to 2000-2002 becks, his passes were elegance and precision. It's so sad he's always seen as a celebrity and he's been so underrated as a player because of this. He's forever been humble of his immense talent and I feel he didn't deserve the hate he constantly received from big bully Ferguson, at times he should've been supported. Truly a legend
Becks is a legend, times change so quickly in football people forget how good he was. I'm not a fan of him but dam he was good. His free kicks and assists were crazy but his passion to win puts him up there with greats because great players win you games.
Years ago I remember someone pointing out Beckman's pace. He often covers the most distance of anyone on the field. And apparently in endurance running tests, he scored some of the highest. I think that came out when Park Ji-sung barely didn't beat Beckham's old record in, maybe the shuttle run test? This is of course not what makes or breaks a player. But if you combine this with his passing & kicking skill, you have something special. You don't need to win a lot of challenges with that skillset already there.
If I needed a player to take a corner or a free kick in injury time, I'd want it to be David Beckham. If I needed a player to lead by example and give his all, I'd want David Beckham. He is woefully underappreciated by so many football fans. World class.
@Rishav Sharma No. His freekicks were overrated. He could score goals no one else in the world could score from freekicks but 9/10 times he would hit the wall of miss the target. Let him take one from 35 yards out in the middle of the game, sure. But last minute big moment freekick? No way. Let the goalkeeper have a go before Roberto. 2nd best leftback ever though, behind Maldini.
@Ed Robbins For England he had a shocking conversion rate but he somehow managed to get a goal in every tournament. I am sure marketing is the reason England failed to qualify for Euro 2008 after dropping him for a long time.
He had one of the best free kicks ever.. instead of saying he declined, how about saying he naturally slipped away from the game. People grow, change.. he never declined. I was 13 when the madness was around beckham but my dad always said back then in 96, forget all that he's a fantastic footballer. My dad didn't even like him or football unless it was England. But gave credit where it was due.
Beckham 98/99 season was 10/10 he was always Decisive with every touch, his artistry and manipulation of a football was majestic and he always left his mark on the biggest stages when he left Utd his shoes took about half a decade to fill
beckham half way line goal was my first ever football matches that i ever watched, back then i was 4 or 5 years old, and that made me fell in love with beckham and manchester united, he was absolutely world class in my opinion, it's a shame he didn't retire at manchester united, but that charity game when beckham played for man united one last time was a joy though, he's still got it
With the passage of time, David Beckham's signature free-kicks might have faded a bit and gathered some dust in the shadows of other world events. But thanks to your well-researched and superbly put-together documentary, the memory of my hero's golden era lives on. Bravo!
Same here, never been so gutted to see a player leave the club. If I was putting together a Utd all time eleven he'd be one of the the first names on the team sheet. The bloke's an absolute legend.
Good job guys! I would have love you guys to follow him further, in his last season on Madrid he said he was leaving, so Capello put him apart, and he trained so hard and everyday that Capello brought him back, and was a key piece of wining Miraculously the league that year! He left Madrid as a champion
What I didnt realise until I actually saw him play live, was the shift he put in. I didn't realise he was such a grafter. He did not stop running up and down the pitch. Chasing every lost cause down and getting back to defend before sprinting back up to join the attack. I am not a Manchester United fan but I have a lot of respect for this man.
Nobody at that time could pass like him or cross the ball, never seen anyone bend the ball like that or score free kicks,he took a lot of stick of people, was he good enough to be a legend,he scored for every club he played for he won major honours at every club so yes I think he was a legend, brilliant to watch as well
I'm an Arsenal Fan, and I can say wholeheartedly, "BECKS WAS LIT". A true world-class player. Wouldn't miss a gunners match, and certainly would always try to watch a Man Utd match because of him. Great, classy, brave, hardworking and just added that bit more glitz to a match, play-wise and presence-wise.
CA WA definitely. Only penaldo out of these has probably worth talking about, but ultimately Messi is better than him. Messi has got as much probably more goal against top six PL teams than Penaldo even though penaldo himself played in PL 6 years and Messi has never played in PL. And penaldo lovers think Messi couldn't handle it in Prem.
He was actually really good. It's just that he is more popular outside of football than in football itself. But he was a wonderful passer and the GOAT on free kicks. I remember how little by little he started taking Eric Cantona's role in Man Utd.
Ah the poor defence rating doesn't do him justice. He was up and down the right side for United covering and winning the ball for his team. He worked extremely hard for his team. A great United player
98/99 was the first time I lost my voice 2 times in one year. What a year that was. Always said Scholes was underrated, he'd be quiet all match then his one touch goals were outstanding.
Wanted to play and represent his national team as the pinnacle vs most others who sees the Champions league as their priority. Its hard to see someone in the national team now that plays with as much passion and pride as he did. His celebrity masks how much of a great player he was on the pitch.
@De B check out the Brazilian Juninho who played with Lyon, this guy could bend it like Beckham, when somebody like Andrea Pirlo says he copied his technique that shows you the calibre of the guy
Great video ! 630 am where I live and I’m pumped for the day !! I love hearing Phil and Ray Hudson announcing the games way back then! Ray Hudson needs his own video alone.
His passing & crossing was brilliant no doubt, as were his free kicks. The only thing I would say though, the absolute greats of the game that were great passers and crossers of the ball too would be able to do it running at full pace (e.g. Watch some clips of Maradona), whereas I didn't see Becks do that all too often. Most times I saw him put in great passes or crosses he was only jogging or taking steps on the ball. One of the great players of his era for sure, but wouldn't class him with the all time greats (only my humble opinion).
I personally think he has been one of the greatest ambassadors of the sport some the best goals I have ever seen game from his foot, the half way goal for Man Utd was an absolute cracking goal and still even now I can watch it knowing where it's going to land and I still shout get in, which is a miracle because I was not and have never been a Manu Utd fan, his goals for England just awe inspiring the one free kick against Greece was sublime. I think he is one of the finest players a bit of a hot head but a lot of it was his youth, In the latter part of him at Man Utd I could have slapped Ferguson for his treatment towards him.
Best memory for me was England game at old Trafford when he scored the free kick so we qualified in the last mins of the game, goose bumps thinking about it, Boro fan speaking
Beckham is one of those rare athletes who, because he became such a massive cultural icon, managed to be overrated and underrated at the same time.
@b conni "were as" tells me everything about your comment.
The half way line goal was the best goal of all time imo
@AGoat1971 Ronaldinho handsome? I’m not into men, but I’m not sure to put it kindly, if he’s what you would consider “attractive.” Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder or something like that.
@Huell Babineaux having good style and being good looking doesn’t mean you’re gay
@b conni Same for Rivaldo and Ronaldhino. Very attractive hansome men who were world class as well.
Football fans tend to have short memories, and sadly these days Becks tends to get overlooked largely because of the level of fame he achieved. @Peter Badger Well said!
@William Carter have you heard of Iniesta .
Nailed it!
V. good post but he was NEVER a 'pacey' winger. Correct that : )

Zidane: “ his hair”. Damn i felt that shit
Zidane has a great sense of humour. Went over your bushy schoolboy heads
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 omg funny as hell comment.
Or lack off at times
😄
He was the best of his generation.
Put the sponsorships aside, the guy set up a football academy paying for the staff trainers venue all out of his own pocket.
He is a genuine, kind hearted man and one of the greatest of all time.
Of all the famous footballers you’ll hear about, not one of them has done so much or given so much away for the benefit of others.
Not to mention how when he played for psg he donated all his wages to charity
yeah, I went to his soccer school. He was supposed to show up on the last day and cancelled for no reason in particular. A real legend indeed.
Great player - but not quite the saint your hype- post makes out. Those who have seen his snide emails over dying to be knighted / taken easy Qatar world cup money (with that regime) knows there is a much more dodgy side to him. #perspective
What about kaka?

@robicenco1 - Respect, mate. Not too many OPs take random net criticism. IMO, Becks contradictions as a preson overshadow his playing rep.
@Beej J OK. Point taken. I guess even I've been influenced by the relentless anti-hype of the last 20years that he was an average footballer and more of a celebrity - and I'm a massive fan. He was a great player, and he was an amazing leader too - mainly for England.

It's not something that you think of much when talking about the all time greats, but it definitely made a huge difference on top of his other skills.
?? He had a GREAT touch and very good technical skills. Edit that shit, lol.
No one can do corner kicks like Beckham. Every time they were precise target's. Great player
Becks could find my dad with a pass and he's been missing over 20years
hahahaha
🤣
Great line
I saw him live in ‘97 at Anfield. He was imperious against us. His delivery from out wide is the best I’ve ever seen. He was definitely at his best with Man U as they had a perfect balance in midfield.
I remember watching Xavi Alonso against us at Old Trafford and he was truly majestic
@Nazri Buang What is your view of Beckham as a player?
Imagine being a Liverpool fan in the 90s waiting 30 years just to win a prem. Respect, my parent haven't even met by then
Lies again? Hello AMWF
Still one of the best wingers I've ever seen in my life...his precision with the ball was out of this world
Beckham was never a winger. Right midfielder.
@W G midfield winger,,man United playstyle
Easily one of the best 👍
WHAT ! 1.of the best wingers you've ever seen ?
Yes it's sad that he's become hated by daily mail readers and well, overrated by some people . He was and will always be a football legend
I know a guy who was in the youth squad at United who never made it to the first team tell me that Beckham was always the first one on the pitch for training, and the very last one off. Good work ethic is what builds careers.
I've heard that before. He would stay behind after training and practice his free kicks over and over.
Beckham's ability to bend the ball and pick out players from long range was very special. Even Madrid players, World class players, were in awe. I remember R.Carlos saying something like he would leave the free kicks to Beckham just to watch him bend it in.

i think cr7 has a better right foot
Agreed
I’m an Arsenal Fan.
Beckham was no doubt one in a generation talent. Hardworking. Humble. Talented.
@Potato nope it's not though lol 😆 😂 😅
@sanderson Still up there?
@Potato Where's your Henry comment telling me to shut up

David Beckham was the real deal and I’m so glad I got to watch him play. My favorite player when I was a kid.
Mediocre players don't get talked about at all
really? He was FIFA World player of the year runner up.. TWICE! The only person in Utds history to do better than that was CR7!
@defandra nurredityo The only reason he played on the wing is because he happened to have two of the best central midfielders of all time ahead of him in the team, Scholes and Keane. There is literally a movie called Bend it like Beckham. This guy is a legend for sure!
@F&F Lover United and England legend
@Br Uh yeq I hate when ppl say shit like what that guy said smh
we will still remember him as a movie star more than a football player
thankyou
@InYourFaceDisgrace world cup title 🤣🤣🤣
Beckham was a brilliant player he's one of the names that won't be forgotten
When Beckham pass the ball to the striker, it's the ball who find the striker, even if the striker pit-guarded by 2 players. Miss those times. Great generation of United.
His ball bending techniques where magical, finding the corner post at every crucial moment..... Amazing player, it was fun to watch Becks play,
The thing people forget was that he worked liked a dog. Tireless... great defensively and had a great engine - infectious drive and energy! A great role model!
Good video, but Beckham didn't decline at least until 2007, in 2005-06 season Beckham made 17 assists and was also named Real Madrid's Player of the Season, the same season.
Real Madrid player of the season 2006
He was ok,not a great footballer with the ball but a dead ball specialist.
Yeah, but he wasn't in his prime physically, so he did decline. Declining and becoming shit are two very different things.
He was a limited player and after 2004 he failed to be as effective as he was before.
If you look at the stats it may appear as if he had declined, this is simply a misconception though. He often played centrally and deeper for Madrid so naturally didn’t get as many goals or assists. Sometimes you just have to watch football with your eyes 🤷♂️
His goal assists alone make him a legend quality guy on and off the football pitch!
Thinking of beckham's career gives my goosebumps. He is a world class legend of this sport! Wish he never left united.
As a Manchester United fan, im honoured that i got to witness greatness growing up! Beckham was one of the greatest players to have never won the ballon d'or.. I watched Beckham in a charity match a couple of years ago and his delivery is still the very best in the world.
In the crossing department, he's 1000 out of 100.
Beans On toast maybe ,but the people, those work for me didn't.
For me he's 1million out of 100 bro... because he using my favourite number and that is number 7...
No departamento de cruzamento, ele é 1000 em 100
@neil williams lol David from Leytonstone is the greatest crosser in history
Those crosses 😍 passes😘 and not to forget those beautiful free-kick s none can come near him... A true legend ❤️
This man was simply great. what a player, Legendary!
Beckham was a great player one of our most important players during our most successful period
Best crosser of the ball in football history.
His crossing and long range passing were incredible. Absolute pinpoint accuracy
@George Brady wtf CR7 is so underrated I'm his crossing...easily one of the best ever.
@George Brady who talked about Pogba?
@thephonesnatcher What? Pogba is a better crosser than CR7
@Keith sorry but cr7 is one of the great passers but not crosser usually his game was dribbling finishing positioning for finish heading and passing his crosses were always sidelined
That human nature at the starting was so beautiful. Man I hate not witnessing this man play. What an absolute legend.
He was the most underrated footballer because of his charming outlook. After so many years, we still bend it like Beckham.
@SKY-B2500 His work rate, his intangibles, crossing etc.
@SKY-B2500 I'm an Arsenal fan but I witnessed his greatness & watching this, I realised he is better looking now than he was then, so not sure what u are on about.. lol
@SKY-B2500 he was very good. But his temper on the pitch let him and the fans down.
bend it like roberto carlos would be better
In absolute terms, he was an excellent player, one of the best strikers of a ball we've seen, whether passing, shooting or crossing. His crossing, in particular, was incredible. But in comparative terms .... he was a level or two below a couple of his own midfield partners in Keane and Scholes, so it's hard to get too excited.
Just the mere presence of Beckham on field was all that England needed. Phenomenal player he was.
@Akshay Khanna well now you do
@Pandu Arga Oh I didn’t notice the comment was about England not united.
@Akshay Khanna and Giggs is not from England
Kinda overstated. There were other greats in the team too in the likes of Giggs, Scholes etc.
Can't beat his striking and precision
I just Love David Beckham....the free kicks,the penalties,the assists,the dribbles....all outta the world...he is simply awesome ❤️❤️
He was the most famous footballer in the planet for a few years but he didn't buckle under pressure. He continued to perform at the highest level. Other athletes do not thrive under pressure and under global spotlight, that's how you know this man was an elite footballer in his prime.
Every player is unique in their own right. David Beckham is legendary for his acurate crosses. His foot has its own radar to find the player...
It's called he has better visions
@Johny Christ thanks😊👍✌
Crosses you mean, cross over is a dribble move
His work rate was installed at united . He was a work horse in midfield . Always tracking back and making tackles without fear
Not Roberto Carlos?
@Ed Robbins There is a lot of rubbish spouted on this player.
@Ed Robbins For England he had a shocking conversion rate but he somehow managed to get a goal in every tournament.
I am sure marketing is the reason England failed to qualify for Euro 2008 after dropping him for a long time.
HA HA HA HA HA WHATEVER DUDE 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Unreal talent & world class player! Thank you David beckham
Bravo!
He was an elite player everyone who watched him during his days at Man United knows it
@Zib Ndix He was not.
As well as his real days. We all knew he was a precision player. His long ball was a thing of beauty
Even better at Madrid.
Hunter you must be joking right
prakash dayani ahh ok, your sarcasm was lost on me, must be this lock down messing with my head 😂
Still my all time favourite. Does not matter what anyone says. I cried the day he left United and I was a full grown man.
Same here, never been so gutted to see a player leave the club. If I was putting together a Utd all time eleven he'd be one of the the first names on the team sheet. The bloke's an absolute legend.
I watched him for several years at United. The main thing I remember about him is his work rate and link play with neville.
If he had Ronaldo's pace he would have been immortal.
Good job guys! I would have love you guys to follow him further, in his last season on Madrid he said he was leaving, so Capello put him apart, and he trained so hard and everyday that Capello brought him back, and was a key piece of wining Miraculously the league that year! He left Madrid as a champion
His right foot was One of the best weapons of the 90s. Thankyou for 99 and Thankyou for that greece goal 🥅 Take a bow David Beckham
You should watch the England v Greece 2001 World Cup qualifier. That was practically Beckham versus Greece!
Nobody at that time could pass like him or cross the ball, never seen anyone bend the ball like that or score free kicks,he took a lot of stick of people, was he good enough to be a legend,he scored for every club he played for he won major honours at every club so yes I think he was a legend, brilliant to watch as well
One of the biggest stars I know who always stayed humble, grounded and himself.
He was so good that Ronaldo followed his steps both in Man U and Madrid
He's a bloody accurate passer and goalies pissed in their pants when he took direct freekicks against them.
David was a wonder and he was the best passer of the ball to ever live
I'm an Arsenal Fan, and I can say wholeheartedly, "BECKS WAS LIT". A true world-class player. Wouldn't miss a gunners match, and certainly would always try to watch a Man Utd match because of him. Great, classy, brave, hardworking and just added that bit more glitz to a match, play-wise and presence-wise.
@S. Sir Pires was individually more impressive as a winger but Beckham reached an higher level when he was at United.
Same & I completely agree.. 🔥💎🔥
Syahrin Siregar pires over Beckham? Haha
CA WA I'm 52 - old enough to be your dad if I started early, and I did, so you never know!
He's still the best crosser of the ball I've ever seen.
Till this day I still haven't seen anyone come close to this man ability to kick a football
Beckham is a Free kick Legend ♥️
I remember watching that CL final. 3 goals in as many minutes to win after trailing for so long. It was just great to watch.
He influenced nearly every game he played in, and carried the England team for years.
He was actually really good. It's just that he is more popular outside of football than in football itself. But he was a wonderful passer and the GOAT on free kicks. I remember how little by little he started taking Eric Cantona's role in Man Utd.
He has good skill in giving passes, choosing wife and scoring long range goals.
Ah the poor defence rating doesn't do him justice. He was up and down the right side for United covering and winning the ball for his team. He worked extremely hard for his team. A great United player
He was something special .
98/99 was the first time I lost my voice 2 times in one year. What a year that was. Always said Scholes was underrated, he'd be quiet all match then his one touch goals were outstanding.
Whaaaaaaaatt a documentary this detailed and well crafted by a KZclipr with 50k subs?????? you're even more underrated than beckham
Beckham was immense for United, but that England performance v Greece was phenomenal
Wanted to play and represent his national team as the pinnacle vs most others who sees the Champions league as their priority. Its hard to see someone in the national team now that plays with as much passion and pride as he did. His celebrity masks how much of a great player he was on the pitch.
One of the best passers of a ball and free kick takers of any era
@De B check out the Brazilian Juninho who played with Lyon, this guy could bend it like Beckham, when somebody like Andrea Pirlo says he copied his technique that shows you the calibre of the guy
I'd say he's the second best free kick takers, Roberto Carlos has got the best free kicks I've ever seen.
Glad to hear all these comments. Brilliant attitude ethic and ability. Best crosser I ever saw. Liverpool fan.
Please don't stop making great videos like these ❤️
Beckham maxed out his talent, never cut corners, and wasn’t afraid to look stupid in pursuit of the spectacular.
Yeah, he was the man. I got alot of respect for Beckham. He also put his heart and soul playing for England.
What a great player. He managed how to deal with popularity and professional player
Great video ! 630 am where I live and I’m pumped for the day !! I love hearing Phil and Ray Hudson announcing the games way back then! Ray Hudson needs his own video alone.
Great little documentary. He really was one of the greats
Beckham was definitely world class. 👍
He is the reason I am a Manchester United & England fan. Beckham forever ❤❤❤
Quality All round
I personally think he has been one of the greatest ambassadors of the sport some the best goals I have ever seen game from his foot, the half way goal for Man Utd was an absolute cracking goal and still even now I can watch it knowing where it's going to land and I still shout get in, which is a miracle because I was not and have never been a Manu Utd fan, his goals for England just awe inspiring the one free kick against Greece was sublime. I think he is one of the finest players a bit of a hot head but a lot of it was his youth, In the latter part of him at Man Utd I could have slapped Ferguson for his treatment towards him.
Thank you for this…it was wonderful!!! Appreciate all you do.
He was a solid TOP10 between 1998 and 2002.
The fact that this guy retired at PSG.. Legend
His assists from long rage were the best ever. Directly to head or to foot.
Best memory for me was England game at old Trafford when he scored the free kick so we qualified in the last mins of the game, goose bumps thinking about it, Boro fan speaking
He was THE Footballer of my generation
He may not be the best overall, but his style is unique, unprecedented and not to be duplicated.
Damn those pin point crosses and passes he made were military grade radar, so accurate and lethal.
