After having some scary symptoms, I finally had my colonoscopy done today. The doctors and aides were super professional and light hearted. 2 polyps were found and one was sent away for test. At the end of the day I am optimistic.
Having been subjected to this several times now, I think this was a very good video, covering all aspects, and should help to reassure anyone due to have one. These things are never “exciting” or whatever the word is, but it is soon over with. Mine saved my life. I lost a lot of blood suddenly, and my dr sent me straight away for this procedure, and they found what turned out to be early stage cancerous Polyps. . I go every three years for check ups now. But the discomfort lasting perhaps 30mins is nothing when it saves your life. So please, anyone who watched this and felt they couldn’t go through with one...Please go! It’s not even as bad as going to the dentist ! And is a life saver Thankyou to the folks who made such an interesting and powerful video. We do need more like this about other health issues please! 😊👍
Just had this today. It's true that the prep is the worst part of the procedure. The prep made me want to throw up and gave me stomach pains. Not to mention the burning and irritation on my butthole. But it's a minor inconvenience for a potentially life-saving procedure. I got sedated and fell asleep throughout the procedure, and only woke up in the recovery room about an hour later. I felt no pain, only dizziness and some nausea a few hours after. Get a colonoscopy guys before it's too late!
Just had ine yesterday. The worst part is the prep. It is so important to do the prep correctly. As you take the prep luquid , you can see the bowel movements getting very watery, then clear, then a bright yellow. The procedure itself was A breeze.
Had this procedure carried out recently & I also had a camera down my throat to check for ulcer's. TBH, I was nervous & worried beforehand. But I cannot stress enough it's a doddle & I never felt a thing. Only a small bit of pressure in my tummy & that's because of the air that's pumped into your colon. Even if they find polyps they are quite tiny & may look big on screen to you, but remember there magnified & their no feeling if their removed by the Doctor. So guys there's no need to worry, just relax yourself & totally put yourself at ease while it being done. When it's all over you'll be served with refreshments & given time to settle before going home. Best of luck to you all guys!
I recently had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy procedure carried out. I decided to have one just to be on the safe side following several longstanding issues. I was put to sleep for the procedures so don't remember anything, other than the prep that is required two to three days prior to admission. Please do not hesitate getting this done if you have any concerns. Even if your results are clear. It's best to be on the safe side and the procedure is carried out with utmost professionalism.
I just had a colonoscopy this morning and I can tell you the worst part was taking the prep the day before. I did not have any sedation or gas and air. I had slight discomfort but nothing major. This was the second time i have had one which i now have every 2 years due to a family genetic risk factor. My advice is if you have to have it done don't worry it was all over in about 30 mins.
Anybody watching this scared to have this done, hear me on this: it’s not bad at all! The prep the day before is a pain because all you can have is clear liquids and the prep I had included a large bottle of lemon lime Gatorade filled with an entire bottle of Miralax powder. Depending on your diet, more than likely you’ll have some diarrhea the first 2-3 times, then just yellow liquid afterwards. But for the procedure itself, do not fear! I slipped on my gown, technician inserted an IV of saline, the anesthesiologist asked me a few questions, went into the procedure room, asked to turn to my side, the anesthesiologist inserted something in the IV drip, a minute later I joked “hey I feel a little sleepy”, then some 30 minutes later I woke up sleepy, but totally alert, no pain in my butt, and told all was well and released gouging on two slices of Costco pizza.
Thanks for the information, I have been put forward for this next year. I was told I will be sedated during the procedure, but a couple my friends had it done and said they were awake. The way it curls around inside looks scary but its best to know what is wrong.
Excellent narration followed by write-up in the background . First class delineation of the entire procedure of colonoscopy in an exhaustive manner and extremely lucid style. Well done !
In Norway where I live, they never sedate you during colonoscopies unless you're really struggling hard. I'm having mine in 3 days and i'm terrified. I spoke to my doctor about getting sedation but he refused. I also had an endoscopy about a year ago which was absolutely horrifying, had a straight up anxiety attack during the procedure because the discomfort I felt was unreal. All of you are so lucky to be sedated trust me..
@Raleigh Thomas no but the med makes you so relaxed that many do fall asleep. That's what the nurse told me. You won't remember a thing. The 2 day prep: no underwear or pants and stay super close to a toilet. If you don't want accidents that you can't imagine, don't leave the bedroom/bathroom area.
It was the second most painful experience of my life, after kidney stones. I was awake during the procedure. They had trouble locating the entrance to the small intestine, took 40 min. Luckily I was int he clear, no cancer or anything else, but I did end up with more prolapse after.
I just had gastroscopy & colonoscopy at once. I think the preparation is not that bad, and I was under sedation so I can’t remember anything throughout the process. It’s not that difficult. I did this procedure at Singapore. I have few symptoms like loose watery stool, urge to use the restroom, feeling like my bowel doesn’t empty fully.
My sister in law passed away almost a year ago, with colon cancer (stage 4). She never had a colonoscopy, she said she did it need it. The preparation is the worst, the procedure is a painless. Well worth it, if you want to live a long life.
I had my colonoscopy done but my doctor didn't gave me any sedative. It took him approx 45 min. I was having grade 3 thrombosed internal haemorrhoids and that is reason i felt so much rectal pain during the procedure otherwise it's not so painful, you just feel bloating and urge to go to toilet because of the air. But it is totally safe and is considered the gold standard.
“mild” cramping lol. You can actually ask to have this done without sedation! I would describe it as feeling like *intense* cramping. It’s nice to have no grogginess when done, though. I’m interested in how the colonoscope works. Like, how does it remember to stay curved in the right places as it continues through the colon?
Here's what I know - my doctor got on me about having one when I was 52. I had no issues beforehand, but he wanted me to get it done anyway, just to "be safe". They found absolutely nothing wrong during the exam. However, I've had nothing but issues with constipation and pain ever since. My doctor wanted me to have another one when I turned 60. I told him where he could shove it, and it wasn't going to be up my arse.
I'm having my fourth (I think) colonoscopy in September. I had 2 over ten years ago due to rectal bleeding from an unknown source. Then last year I had a positive Cologuard test, so another colonoscopy. They found 7 polyps and a lipoma. Luckly, none were cancerous, but I have to have a repeat to see if the polyps come back. The first one I got to watch. The second one I also had a endoscopy. So they gave me Versed. The last one they knocked me out because I have heart problems and COPD. I'm probably gonna be knocked out again for the up coming procedure. The worse part of the colonoscopy? The prep you have to do the day before.
Got this done just an hour ago. I'm only 34 but they found a polyp. I'm glad I went and had it removed. Although it was benign I am glad it is out now and won't have the chance to turn malignant if it had the potential.
Very informative video about this procedure. I'm having one done in a few days but I'm having a general sedation. This will be my second one in twelve years.
Just got finished mine yesterday at 10 Green St. Baltimore VA hospital. Piece of cake... I was longer in an MVA trying to renew my driving license... In and out in the VA hospital in less than 45min. No pain, stayed awake (with conscious sedation) the whole time and actually comment on doctor's procedures from info learned on this video, I told him exactly where he was in my colon....he said i must've done my homework... Do the prep to the letter and all will go well. Learn to enjoy the prep solution, the prep is your friend... HC Clark-ENC U.S. Navy Retired CPO (1973-1993) Baltimore, Md.
Honestly, the worse part of this procedure was the laxatives beforehand. The actual colonoscopy was fine, I had gas & air during it. The meds carrying it out were great.
I got my colonoscopy (after 7 years of procrastinating) yesterday. Was far easier than I had expected. Propofol, which is usually used for sedation, has an extremely short half-life, so there really is no reason to advise you to have a driver take you home, nor to not drive the rest of the day. My son drove me home, but I would have been able to drive myself. After I got home, I immediately drove to the grocery store AND bought a bottle of wine!
Here in Australia when I had 9ne, the sedition ment I didn't remember the procedure at all. The nurse simply woke and there was no discomfort at all and was able to go straight back into my regular diet. The cleaning out the night before is the worst part and not that bad. Just be near a toilet for that
I had this procedure done and it almost killed me. My doctor damaged my spleen while retracting the camera. I bleed internally for hours, after 8 units of blood they decided to take me in for a exploration operation , that’s when they found the damage they did. I was very weak from being low on blood and my heart working so hard for so long I had a heart attack on the table and my kidneys shut down. After they removed my spleen to stop the bleeding and 7 weeks in the hospital trying to get my strength back they sent me home, after 3 months of home care I am about 50 percent of what I used to be. Thank you Kaiser. This will be my last colonoscopy, I am not afraid of cancer anymore.
Because I have Crohn's, I have regular colonoscopies as instructed by my GI physician. Thankfully, they have all turned out to be negative. But(t) the first one was, shall we say, interesting. When the Doctor came to visit me in the recovery room,he said that everything was ok and asked how I felt. I told him " It feels just like being at work." Not finished with my routine, I told him "I'm glad you're a crack surgeon..." Thankfully,he laughed...L L A P
The twilight sedation is fine. It has way less recovery sickness than general anesthesia. I was sort of aware of some talking and tugging, but didn't really feel anything or care, kind of like when you catch yourself nodding off during a movie. It only takes like 20min.
I once had to go for a colonoscopy with an extremely serious German physician. After explaining the procedure, he asked me if I had any questions. I asked him if he would be buying me dinner before, or breakfast after. He did not laugh.
I had my first Colonoscopy on the 12th March was sedated for this and yea I had 15 mm Polyp had 8 altogether but no cancer all the polyp were removed with a hot snare so it good to see what happens I also had 3 Haemorrhoids grade 11 internal back to the Hospital in 3 years based on Pathology results Local Colonoscopy Doctor in 3 months my Doctor in 2 weeks so yea
I just had a colonoscopy done. No sedation per my request and light Fentanyl for pain, I was awake and watched the whole thing on the monitor. My doctor removed the air as he removed the scope so no long farts after! It wasn't bad. The prep before hand was murder though, ugh!
I saw a video where one doctor was doing the procedure on another. He also had NO pain meds and seemed totally comfortable. So this is a REAL thing huh?
Hi. Interesting video. I was doing a colonoscopy for a couple of years ago. I had been feeling a bit problem with my stomach so ive got to do this examination. The answer of The examination was good... No tumours or so. I think it is very good to do this, and The enveliping to go look inside with a camera (like when or when you examine your vocal chords), its Great that The doctor are able to see The result live. 👍 Christer
There are some people who do not respond very well to the sedation. I had colonoscopy with sedation and close to the end of the procedure, I felt a serious pain in the lower back. My spontaneous reaction without thinking was to grab back and pull the colonoscope out of my rectum. I was sedated, but I felt the pain. As the doctor told me after removing a polyp, he had to hold the wall of the intestine with a pair of tweezers, sometimes causing pain. ,
I shout and call people names when I'm sedated it doesn't seem to knock me out... I don't know why this happens... as I know I'm doing it but can't shut up he... he
Talk with your doctor if you are afraid of not responding well to sedation or anesthesia or do not tolerate them too well. Doctors have a duty to remain silent. The problem was that I had 7 years before an opiate dependency and my body therefore reacted differently.
I was having stomach discomforts and tried to avoid the colonoscopy b getting every other possible conceivable test done but in the end after they were all done, I had no choice but to get the colonoscopy about 4 months later. They removed a polyp. The prep drinking was nothing, 250ML of picoprep, theevening before and then 1 litre of something else in the morning of the procedure. and then another 250 mil of Picoprep 4 hours before procedure. All the drinks I had to take were not in the slightest bit awful tasting. The whole thing other than being a bit hungry was a nothing event. in the end, I probably got better just knowing that I dont have weird stuff happening in my head wondering what's going on. Get it done! It's not worth the head stress! ..
My colonoscopies have not been pain free nor have I been asleep! But, my husband passed away from Colon cancer at the age of 57. He had cancer for 5 years. Everyone should have one at the age of fifty! Grit your teeth and do it! The other option is way worse!
I had one today I also had at least 10 In my life I have chron's and we tried every treatment only worked for a few months I'm on a new one lately and I hope it is the one that will work I also had surgery to take half of my colon out and hopefully something work's I've had this since I was born but at the age 11 it suddenly started all this I'm 15 now please whoever sees this pray for me thank you! People really don't know how much pain I go through everyday it's unbearable please pray for me that would be really appreciated and to those that pray for me may you have a great life!
I just had a colonoscopy and would not do it again. The insurance company called me twice to say that since I was over 60 I should have a colonoscopy and that it was a covered benefit. I had the procedure and a very small polyp was discovered and removed. Then the insurance company refused to pay for the procedure, telling me that it wasn't covered because of the polyp, leaving me with a very large bill that I wasn't prepared to pay. I would have been a long time dead before that little polyp ever caused me any problems. Nearly everyone over 60 is going to have a polyp so I tell everyone I know, don't do it, it is a trick, kind of like asking a girl out on a date, then making her pay.
I waited till I was 61 and wish I had never had it done. The results were inconclusive and it's been 3 months now and I am still not the same since then.
I had a colonoscopy done a week ago..the preparation is terrible ..lots of laxatives and liquids for 24 hours.. The procedure was easier than I thought..I refused to be sedated. My colon was super clean and no polyps or else .thank God .
I have four had four of these so far and each one feels different depending on who the surgeon is. Some do the work fast to get it over and done with, others slow and gentle which I prefer. The last clown whipped out the scope like a Lion trainer in a circus act keeping the beasts in their place. I hit the roof with pain and complained about it afterwards. It all depends on who doing it and what kind of day they are having. It really felt as s though he had his head up my Ass and wanted to get it out real Quick.
Reminds me of a tooth extraction. The oral surgeon was like a mad scientist. I almost flew outta the chair, the pain was so bad. On top of all that, the room was large, basically empty, bluish/green color, and cold! Not unlike what you see in horror films.
Just had the procedure. Fell asleep and woke up (all within an hour, I even wondered if they did anything). Afterwards, I was given a ham sandwich and apple juice (sooo good) .. then my hubby picked me up. The solution you must drink is bearable but unbearable was not being allowed to eat for close to 24hrs... in my case
There's a 72" colon cleaning 'snake' avail ble. This is inserted into the rectum and slowly pushed the full way into the colon. Water pressure from shower head fitting rotates outer edges of the snake which expands the brush section and rotates. The soft brushes and water jets clean the whole of the colon as its slowly removed. I removed a bucket full of undigested food and clogged faeces during this process. It's far better than the pre regular colon irrigation as the snake cleans the whole length of the colon. Once the snake hits the 90degree bend going into the large colon it has to be rotated whilst pushing to get it around the bend. Once done a couple of times it's now no problem. It's around 30mm diameter so fills the colon completely, it's actually even a nice feeling with the full 72" inserted..
I done ✅ My colonoscopy without any Anesthesia 😒. But it’s not very painful much I thought 💭. Really we can manage it with deep breath. So don’t worry guys. Face it with happy 😃 mood. Very Important thing is preparation. Clean 🧼 & clear bowel.
Great Video. Started prep tonight (procedure in 2days) and when I say OMG, I just had the biggest, hardest crap in my life! I wanted to scream. I cried. I was sweating and I thought I was going to die getting that load out and I've had 3 kids naturally!!! My husband said I was full of sh** 😮Sorry for the graphics and TMI, I just wasn't ready for that. Hopefully the first bowel movement is the hardest, I can't keep doing that.
I have gotten 5 done so far and it's not scary at all. I'm 14 years old and I have sever chrohns disease. Well rn I'm back in the hospital (3 weeks) and they don't know if I have chrohns or colitis. But I had chrohns for a year and 8 months. It's been tough but this procedure is nothing I promise. The doctors are nice and everyone is there to calm you down and make you feel less scared. I get a slushee every time after I wake up . Ok I'm not going to lie, the preparation sucks. You can't eat for two days and you drink a whole bunch bowl in 3 hours. I also drink it with Gatorade (it's what they suggest) and now I hate Gatorade but the procedure it's self does not hurt and I never feel any cramps or pain after the procedure.
For my last one they used nitrogen instead of just air. It was absorbed so I did not get the fun of the "musical" after effects. I liked that way better than having to expel the extra air myself.
I had my colonoscopy two days and it was nothing. Waited until I was 57 and I was worried about nothing. But gentlemen the sooner the better. Don't be like me and procrastinate.
I had my first one a few months ago and I am 61. The results were inconclusive and I feel I have not been the same since so never again will I go thru that experience I will just take my chances.
@Thunderbird 1983 I had my first one last Tuesday. I am so glad they gave me anesthesia. Thank goodness I don't have cancer, just diverticulitis. Of course diverticulitis is bad but cancer is umpteen times WORSE.
I had this done but mine was in my womb not this way on here and mine resulted in having to have a biopsy of the womb that day but thank God my results were okay some minor changes only which resulted in me not needing any further treatment just another check in 12 months instead of the normal 3 years so I won't take these results for granted I've still quit smoking and no intention of starting again my mum died of cervical cancer so I consider myself lucky to have to have no further treatment and to of been discharged so I do feel extremely lucky as most people normally go on to have treatment or full hysterectomy as my sister did also when she had abnormal results she was in hospital within a few weeks after her biopsy having a full hysterectomy ,and I also have gone for a smear test every 3 years since my 20s I think last 3 years was first time I missed but all sorted thank God 🙂
What happened to me after colonoscopy: I wake up and tell the nurse my stomach hurts. She says "It's the air we pumped in there, go ahead and let it out." 15 minutes later, I'm on my knees and elbows on the bed farting like a trucker that eats nothing but chili. Then, not having heard the conversation between me and the nurse, my husband walked around the corner and starts laughing so hard he couldn't talk. Overall it was a pretty entertaining experience. And yay, no pollops. I'm still farting 6 months later.....just kidding 😂😂😂😂 the worst part was the bowel prep, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOUSE after you start the process....seriously.
I'm a retired RN and recently had both a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy, they put me out with milk of amnesia I call it. I read your comment and I was laughing so loud my next door neighbor probably heard me. Lets just say you made my night!!! 🤣🤣 Thanks
i prayed before all the procedures for comfort and peace. I prayd before the nurse inserted the IV line too. I still was slightly hyperventilating after it was inserted. This was the worst for me. The prep and tthe exam room weren't at all problems. I went in there and it felt like 2 seconds I was awake and they said they were done. I could have sworn it felt like a blink of my eye. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and it was over.
It would probably be a lot less terrifying if they didn't design the scope to look like a screaming robotic anus caterpillar that barfs tools at your polyps.
Im only 43, and have 2 under my belt. Looking for ward to another at 50 ! The best part for me was during the middle i could hear the doctors talking about things and stuff that had nothing to do with me. After i asked if our relationship was getting serious. I dont know if he got my sense of humor.
I just had one 2 weeks ago. I was terrified because I one long ago without anesthetic. Will uncomfortable it was that big of deal. With anesthesia it was nothing and I had 2 benign polyps removed. No discomfort at all.
I had my first Colonoscopy two years ago. Because my Gastroenterologist thought that something was wrong with my colon and intestines. And the prep stuff tastes horrible!
WAIT A SECOND!! You can have this procedure done without being knocked out?! I want to get one done, but I've put it off, cause I dont like the idea of being knocked out for anything. Plus I've only been in a hospital once as a kid, for removal of my tonsils and that was 54 years ago. Hospitals scare the crap out of me. I will have to look into this non-knocked out procedure. Thankx for the video!!
I would suggest you get over your fear of being "knocked out" and have the procedure done under anesthesia. It can be very painful. And if you are awake, even slightly sedated, they won't be able to do the entire colon because that would be much to painful. Then, when you tell them it is too painful and they should stop. They will stop. Then they will determine if they need to examine more of your colon and then they will need to "knock you out." So, man up and get it done with anesthesia.
How can anyone go through this? Back in my day doctor came to your house. He knew what was wrong. One shot and all pain gone. No hospital know horrible tests. A diet prescription was given and all was good. No need of a specialist. The good old days.
I tried to have this done but I was in so much of a panic she didn't even get very far I could feel everything even tho on gas and air need this done tho really interesting video
I had one 2 days ago. No sedation. no drugs, just gas and air (just oxygen I think) pinched a bit as they went around the bends and a couple of wooaaah moments, but nothing worth being knocked out for. the only feeling you have after, is that you've been violated by some demon with a very long, thin and very bendy penis, so there is an element of psychological trauma that must be lessened with sedatives, etc. but if you gotta drive and get back to work, they wont give you sedatives (for good reason). Plus if you're out for the count, you cant watch the horror film that is like entering the alien hive. More ribbed structures in there than you would expect and once you've seen it, you can't UN see it. though it is nice to be re-assured on the spot, there there is nothing untoward growing in there, as was the case with me. The entire gut was checked all the way up to the duodenum! Worse part is the drinking 2 litres of yucky movieprep liquid and not eating for 24 hours.
I just had my 1st Colonoscopy at 55. I i i was Petrified of the PROPOFOL. My whole procedure only took about 16 minutes. It will Knock you out in 3 seconds. It’s not the same Anesthesia as major surgery.
@Lee Wright That's so true! And *I listened to organ music* on KZclip while I was waiting to drift off to sleep before the procedure. Thank goodness they gave me anesthesia. Surgery of any kind scares me out of my wits.
Very good video. I found this video because of NFL’s football life it was the Vince Lombardi episode. In the episode they talked about him health Lombardi refused a colonoscopy his words were” I’m not going to let anyone stick something up my ass”
I have done one week ago Very relaxing procedure Little cramps but it was OK I have penducalated poylp Age 24 years And I have taken no sedatives because I m medical student so my interest to watch my colon and rectum
having had this done, I can tell you the worst thing about it was drinking a gallon of that horrible tasting liquid..ug..worst tasting stuff ever..it was a marathon I tell ya..a marathon..I had about 15 glasses and counted down as I went..when I got to the last five I was in the home stretch..then I finally got to the last one and drank that then went to bed..I was tired and dehydrated a little bit seeing as that stuff really cleans you out..then I couldn't eat anything for another 12-15 hours..but water..thank heavens for that..the procedure was not that bad.
I've had 4 colonoscopies and i haven't been able to get cleaned out enough for the doctors to see anything, so they did a colonography and that wasn't very successful either
After having some scary symptoms, I finally had my colonoscopy done today. The doctors and aides were super professional and light hearted. 2 polyps were found and one was sent away for test. At the end of the day I am optimistic.
Do polyps make you pass any blood in your stool
Joshua Lovehall literally same, except for me the 2 polyps got removed

In colonscopy Is that possible to absence of polyps?
Thank you so much
how long have you been getting yours done Mr. Eastwood?
Air? Not CO2?
I have done endoscopy but now this thing is suggested to do by doctors. I m scared.
I recently had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy procedure carried out. I decided to have one just to be on the safe side following several longstanding issues. I was put to sleep for the procedures so don't remember anything, other than the prep that is required two to three days prior to admission.

I'm pretty brave about such things. So I can have it done with ZERO meds?
Thank u for this info❤

Sedation routine in Australia
There are good videos to help relieve the fears of Colonoscopies, then there are great ones. Loved this one!
Ashley Slayer you are NOT ASLEEP, you just can’t REMEMBER ANYTHING FROM THE PROCEDURE.
No, you are asleep, when you wake up its done.
Does it hurt
It was the second most painful experience of my life, after kidney stones. I was awake during the procedure. They had trouble locating the entrance to the small intestine, took 40 min. Luckily I was int he clear, no cancer or anything else, but I did end up with more prolapse after.
Is there a specific age of when they can perform it?
I just had gastroscopy & colonoscopy at once. I think the preparation is not that bad, and I was under sedation so I can’t remember anything throughout the process. It’s not that difficult. I did this procedure at Singapore. I have few symptoms like loose watery stool, urge to use the restroom, feeling like my bowel doesn’t empty fully.
My sister in law passed away almost a year ago, with colon cancer (stage 4). She never had a colonoscopy, she said she did it need it. The preparation is the worst, the procedure is a painless. Well worth it, if you want to live a long life.
Did she have any symptoms? Or was the cancer a complete surprise? Sorry to hear!
English please
I just got this and an Endoscopy done today. They put me to sleep for both! Very easy and not scary.
I had it done and it's exactly as defined in the video. I watched it throughout as well. Excellent
The build up of tension before the reveal at 0:58 was masterfully done. Keep up the good work.

Here in Australia when I had 9ne, the sedition ment I didn't remember the procedure at all. The nurse simply woke and there was no discomfort at all and was able to go straight back into my regular diet. The cleaning out the night before is the worst part and not that bad. Just be near a toilet for that
i have a colonoscopy tomorrow and wanted to know what is going to happen to me tomorrow! thank you for calming my fears
Me too .
everything will be good
Tomorrow is long gone😂R u still alive?
Doctors are amazing
Not all :/
I had this procedure done and it almost killed me.
Probably what I will opt for. Last time I did surgery I had the dry heaves! It was the worst experience.
I wished I’d watched this before I had my colonoscopy procedure. GREAT VIDEO 👌🏾
I once had to go for a colonoscopy with an extremely serious German physician. After explaining the procedure, he asked me if I had any questions. I asked him if he would be buying me dinner before, or breakfast after. He did not laugh.
I had my first Colonoscopy on the 12th March was sedated for this and yea I had 15 mm Polyp had 8 altogether but no cancer all the polyp were removed with a hot snare so it good to see what happens
I also had 3 Haemorrhoids grade 11 internal back to the Hospital in 3 years based on Pathology results Local Colonoscopy Doctor in 3 months my Doctor in 2 weeks so yea
Excellent video : very well explained in simple language.
I am literally in the waiting room now to have this procedure done! 😮
Amazing info . Thanks Dr. Long live for you !

I don't know why this happens... as I know I'm doing it but can't shut up he... he
Talk with your doctor if you are afraid of not responding well to sedation
or anesthesia or do not tolerate them too well.
It's not worth the head stress! ..
Thanks Boz mine due tomorrow Flinders Private, doing the prep now.
I pray for you
May God cure you soon InshaAllah
How are you now?
You WILL pull through and recover. 👍🏼
Keep your faith in Christ Jesus. The healer of all and the guarantor of eternal salvation in PEACE!
I just had my first one, they put me to sleep so I did not feel anything. Everything went well.
Thank you so much I was really worried my mom is having this done today at 2pm my only worry is she didn't have it done by the age of 50 😢
I just had a colonoscopy and would not do it again.
My son suffering from this disease what I should do any one tell me good doctor or medicine
Mine is tomm
You had bleeding?
God bless your health :) and keep they healthy life with no alcohol or red meat
How much does it cost ?
So why did you have it then?
Just for a guess? Why?
I had the same feeling 😀
I had my done last week, feel a bit strange being shaft but a male doctor and five nurses are watching!
Rakesh Dasari wrong

Just had the procedure. Fell asleep and woke up (all within an hour, I even wondered if they did anything). Afterwards, I was given a ham sandwich and apple juice (sooo good) .. then my hubby picked me up. The solution you must drink is bearable but unbearable was not being allowed to eat for close to 24hrs... in my case
Calliades how many hour the procedure
Nice feeling?
And this is where my insomnia has led me tonight.
same for me
From here on out, it is "you and colonoscopy" for bedtime stories. Man. Internet is deep.
…and me too! SMH
I have done this 3 times, it's nothing to be fearful of. They found a lot of polyps in my case. The best part is to watch the procedure on the screen.
"Coming to a cinema near you!"
This video is simple but perfect and clear. 👍👍👍
😧😭
Yh I got crohns aswell I’ve got ulcers in my vowels so I can’t eat for 6 weeks
Go vegan!!
WOW COLONOSCOPY AT *FOURTEEN YEARS OLD* HUH they start at 50yo
is it really doesnt scary ?
For my last one they used nitrogen instead of just air. It was absorbed so I did not get the fun of the "musical" after effects. I liked that way better than having to expel the extra air myself.
I had my colonoscopy two days and it was nothing. Waited until I was 57 and I was worried about nothing. But gentlemen the sooner the better. Don't be like me and procrastinate.
@Terry R_Zappa Not the same how?
I had my first one a few months ago and I am 61. The results were inconclusive and I feel I have not been the same since so never again will I go thru that experience I will just take my chances.
@Thunderbird 1983 I had my first one last Tuesday. I am so glad they gave me anesthesia.
Thank goodness I don't have cancer, just diverticulitis. Of course diverticulitis is bad but cancer is umpteen times WORSE.
Doesn't hurt they put you to sleep.
My dad's almost 65 and he's never had one. There's no family history but I know he will be in for a world of hurt one of these days.
This is a very good guide for my Colonoscopy!
My grandmas going threw this 😓 she’s not nervous but I M bc I love her sm!
Hope it went well for G ma
Mine too:(
Awww
This is very routine for most of us. If you are close by, maybe you can visit her after and bring her something to eat that she likes 👍🏽
Will keep her in prayers 🙏
Thanks for sharing. Had to share it with my parents since dad will be doing his soon.
Thats how a video is made. 100% clear 👍
🤣🤣 Thanks
Diya
Funniest thing I've read in a long time ..thanks
i prayed before all the procedures for comfort and peace.
Here in India, we got clinics where patient is also given another monitor to see his/her inside while doctor sees it in another monitor.
Let me tell you something. I had a colonoscopy done on me and I didn’t feel a thing. They put me to sleep and next thing you know, it was over.
It would probably be a lot less terrifying if they didn't design the scope to look like a screaming robotic anus caterpillar that barfs tools at your polyps.
Lol
brad thomas lmao I screamed when the teeth monster came out
Funny but true! It dies look like a,Robot.
I think its cute !!!
It's legit what it looks like 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for the video well explained
Don't fear the scope. The bowel prep is way more traumatic.
Im only 43, and have 2 under my belt. Looking for ward to another at 50 ! The best part for me was during the middle i could hear the doctors talking about things and stuff that had nothing to do with me. After i asked if our relationship was getting serious. I dont know if he got my sense of humor.
So Grey's Anatomy is accurate! Lol
Thanks lot for your efforts and struggle to provide the valuable information.
Very good video, thank you for sharing.
Very helpful video 👍💜🌈
The procedure itself is a breeze. The prep is living hell.
I’m getting mine done in 3 hours this prep is hell I’m wondering how I’m going to make it to the Doctor it’s 40 min away 😳
Whisper and Mantra that would be easy. no. its 24 hours of laxatives, a clear liquid only diet, and suffering.
I feel you brother had my third colonoscopy last Saturday, two of the previous both prep and procedure were hell, this time the gave me sedative☺🙂
The prep?
How can anyone go through this? Back in my day doctor came to your house. He knew what was wrong. One shot and all pain gone. No hospital know horrible tests. A diet prescription was given and all was good. No need of a specialist. The good old days.
Just had one a few hours ago- feel amazing now. Didn't feel or remember a thing- Propofol is a hell of a drug!
what do you mean
Same here...can't remember a thing, even tho my mom told me that i had my eyes open when they brought me out of the room
I tried to have this done but I was in so much of a panic she didn't even get very far I could feel everything even tho on gas and air need this done tho really interesting video
Thank you so much for sharing this. Actually im afraid and i have 2 elongated pedunculated polyps inside my colon. Im afraid what is gonna happen.
I'm still scared. But less so after this video. Thank you.
I just had my 1st Colonoscopy at 55. I i i was Petrified of the PROPOFOL. My whole procedure only took about 16 minutes. It will Knock you out in 3 seconds. It’s not the same Anesthesia as major surgery.
@Lee Wright I have diverticulitis, not cancer, thank goodness!
@Lee Wright That's so true! And *I listened to organ music* on KZclip while I was waiting to drift off to sleep before the procedure. Thank goodness they gave me anesthesia. Surgery of any kind scares me out of my wits.
The prep is worse than the procedure itself. The anesthesias today usually allow you to wake up refreshed, not groggy at all like in the old days.
Very good video. I found this video because of NFL’s football life it was the Vince Lombardi episode. In the episode they talked about him health Lombardi refused a colonoscopy his words were” I’m not going to let anyone stick something up my ass”
😔😔🙏
I want to learn how to do this as a future medical student.
I have done one week ago
Very relaxing procedure
Little cramps but it was OK
I have penducalated poylp
Age 24 years
And I have taken no sedatives because I m medical student so my interest to watch my colon and rectum
I am so utterly utterly grateful that i found "You and colonoscopy"! Really, Thank You KZclip! Sincererly, thank you.
having had this done, I can tell you the worst thing about it was drinking a gallon of that horrible tasting liquid..ug..worst tasting stuff ever..it was a marathon I tell ya..a marathon..I had about 15 glasses and counted down as I went..when I got to the last five I was in the home stretch..then I finally got to the last one and drank that then went to bed..I was tired and dehydrated a little bit seeing as that stuff really cleans you out..then I couldn't eat anything for another 12-15 hours..but water..thank heavens for that..the procedure was not that bad.
Thanks for the info. I am getting one done tomorrow so the comments were helpful
How are you now Mervin?
"You may feel some gas, but this will quickly pass." Truer words were never spoken! :-)
Also, the name of that type of doctor is called a GAStroenterologist... 😂🍑💨💨
😂😂😂
Not only gas but it was like I got a K-Y enema! Talk about wet farts, it was like a tsunami with gale force winds! 😂😂😂😂
This information is valuable! I've know too many people; who have died from Colon Cancer! This will save your life! 👀👍✂👍👀
The whole thing felt like a 5 minute nap. I didnt feel a single thing during the endoscopy for my gullet and colon. Hahahh. So relax and dont worry!
Good info. Thank you.
I've had 4 colonoscopies and i haven't been able to get cleaned out enough for the doctors to see anything, so they did a colonography and that wasn't very successful either
this is great i loved it
I have done this problem both colonoscopy & Endoscopy
Fun fact: The colonoscopes are re-used. You didnt actually think they opened up a brand spanking new one out of the box for you.. ..did you?
Geeeezuz! I hope they used alcohol....... a LOT of alcohol!
For The price everyone pays, it better be brand new
I know disturbing and disgusting 😁
Had this done pretty hamless u feel nothing the worst part is the prep so never worry about this
