That doesn't sound weird at all, melody and tone have been proven to influence peoples emotions in drastic ways. The song doesn't even have to have a positive theme, you can be listening to an extremely sad and depressing song with very dark themes (as far as lyrics are concerned) and yet still feel happy and energized from it simply because the melody, tone and delivery is one that you bop with. That's why so many people feel happy when they first hear "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster The People despite the lyrics depicting a troubled boy experiencing homicidal thoughts.
