@Studio Video CANOX
I am so impressed with that girl's dignity. Apologizing for showing some emotion, and refusing to fight with her father. What an astouding people under such awful circumstances.
Huge respect to James André and Mayssa Awad and to France24 for their reporting here - this is the reality of this awful war. So much of the reporting is like we are seeing a sports match being played out with military and political pundits opining like its the World Cup or something, it's really grotesque. People are being ripped apart literally and figuratively and it shows absolutely no sign of stopping any time soon. Tragic.
Great report on the situation in Bakhmut. Respect to the brave reporters on the frontline, potraying what it's like to live in the middle of the battle. And thank you, dearly, for giving voice to the civilians and to the their lost stories in this brutal war.
@jian yang unfortunately, no one needs it here. No one is interested in why all this is happening, how much grief people have experienced over the past eight years in the Donbas. Everyone is sorry for Ukrainians, only their president is not sorry for them
Saddened me to see that lone old lady strolling along with her shopping trolley like nothing was wrong. Keep your heads held high your doing a grand job on the battlefield ❤️💙
This piece hit different. No one shows the civilians that are caught in all this - and honestly that was so impactful. That bit about the family hit me way too hard, there's no way that family will ever be whole ever again after this war
@MihaiRUdeRO Excuse me ? entire cities eradicated in Chechnya .... There is only one city in Chechnya and it wasnt eradicated , It suffered less damage than similar sized cities the Americans have fought through in the last 50 years , Hue
This video is straight unbiased,I hesitated to click it at first. Kudus to the media team I ve been longing to see footages from bahkmut but here I got a full, comprehensive video
Today, Bakhmut is now being operationally encircled and there is one last road left to resupply. We thank you FRANCE24 for sticking their necks out to report the struggles of this fortress city.
Massive reportage, merci beaucoup! Peace upon Angelina, her family, all the families shown, and all the soldiers. Wisdom, strength and resources upon the medical people. "Mir...mir...mir..."
Thank you for the reporting. I’m sitting in Kyiv and we’re being shelled by cruise missiles and Iranian drones. My kid knows the difference and sadly we’re normalised to this kind of life. I can’t imagine what it’s like living in Bakhmut when there’s constant tube and rocket artillery and gunfire
As an American, I empathize with the woman and her Dad. The US War of Independence was not supported entirely by everyone. There were many loyalists to the Crown. The lady referred to herself as a Patriot, while the older father held an ethnic and Soviet view. "Patriot"
My prayers are with the Ukrainian people and realized that people have it a lot worse problems than I do "God Please protect theses people and keep them safe ""
@Office Farmer only an american could speak such words. I'm not saying that all americans are like this, but personally i havent heard stuff lile this coming from any other nationality than americans.
@Habshoosh hmm. I’m not sure of what ur saying are you suggesting they should d9 human wave attacks like the convicts are doing? It seems to be effective but a little short sided. My combat as very dif but what do I know?
insightful documentary, all respect to the film crew and the people in ukraine. i got a question, why is there some men in ukraine that isnt fighting like maxim ? do they have a choice to not defend or how does that exactly work?
the army says they have enough people for now... they only accept someone who is trained or served in the army previously... of course if you're super eager to get there without any training, you can find a way, but it is not obligatory for you if you have no training/previous experience at the moment accepting untrained and/or phisically inept men en masse is more like a burden/overhead for the army that really needs to be very efficient
Ukrainian soldiers pulled up to the badass journalists & said " what are you doing here? it's being shelled! " lol much respect... they could be hit any minute but they are still there... prayers for the crew and prayers especially for the brave Ukrainian people.
It's amazing how ever video I see soldiers have on brand new uniforms and civilians have on brand new clothes in a war that's been going on for over 40 years! The end is not near but something dark is already hear on this earth!
WOW! An honest and unbiased report coming out from AFU controlled area, I'm surprised and impressed by this work, real journalism right here showing people the reality of war.
Great coverage and in sharp contrast to the anodyne reporting from Sky, BBC etc Honest (and brave) that brings home the horror of this senseless conflict and its impact on civilians. Pray for peace.
This is by far the best kind of unbiased reporting, in documentary style. Very professional and very informative. After watching this segment I feel I have a good understanding of this situation. Hopefully you can follow up with the daughter/father and split family. This tells an even larger story than the war itself.
I pray day and night for this war to end. I am hurting, I am losing confidence in humanity. We have wars in Africa aswell but the atrocities are not known to the world.
We tend to relate to people we can identify with sadly. Plus, another sad thing is, this could go global with one misstep. A lot more riding on the outcome than civil wars in other nations.
All this really puts into perspective of how selfish people with mental illness are. Down with depression I often say to myself. People out there are having such a horrible life when I reality I've got nothing close to the experience of this. I'm not saying you can't feel down. But in a home where I'm warm every night and able to sleep I can't help but feel guilty for what these people have to go through.
The other stories made Bakmut seem like a tiny village, but we can see here it's a big city. It really shows just how devastating and destructive the fighting is. This invasion is so senseless and cruel.
It has been reported that some of the Ukranian soldiers have said it would be better if the Russians got Zalensky before they did but unfortunately he will probably retire to his estate in Florida with protection much like Bush and Blair.
Go the Ukraine, some of will help you once it's all over and you start to rebuild, there'll be another Marshall plan but named after someone else, and we'll be there to help even us while we're in our 70/80's. Go you guys !!!!!!!
These soldiers are brave, fighting a war we all have a stake in. These people staying there are brave, too, in some ways even more than the soldiers. They all deserve every bit of support we can get them...
Finally a report that isn't filled with propaganda but actual people who have opinions showing the true face of the people. I wish Russian soldiers too could be interviewed in such reports
Well done FRANCE 24. Insightful, brave and honest reporting. True reporting should be apolitical and non-patriotic in style and presentation. James and Ayssa should be nominated for something - even if it is only for Good Conduct & Balance. A story about real lives. This could be and should be shown in schools. Bravo.
Honestly, massive respect for this kind of reporting, takes a lot of courage to get that close to the fighting.
@Studio Video CANOX
Only them shows the truth, not the politcian.
I am so impressed with that girl's dignity. Apologizing for showing some emotion, and refusing to fight with her father. What an astouding people under such awful circumstances.
So sad to see all this..this didn't have to happen. Hats off to he doctors and nurses and volunteers that risk their lives to help...real heroes..
One of the most informative and honest reports since the war started. Let's pray the family reunite and work out their differences.
To see her go back to her shelled apartment and seeing the emotions hit her in real time is truly the real front line civilian story.
pack man
w want to buy one
The tragedy of wasted lives for such a senseless reason is heart-wrenching. My thoughts are with the young couple affected by this tragedy.
you nailed it on the head
Adrian bouquet?
Yes, agreed. They do an absolutely outstanding job here conveying a reasonably objective view - very rare these days.
I like to hear the soldiers talk about their experiences, they tell the real stories and what is really happening.
@TheClaudio7078 channel name?
Yep
There s channel on KZclip that have exactly that
Great report on the situation in Bakhmut. Respect to the brave reporters on the frontline, potraying what it's like to live in the middle of the battle.
And thank you, dearly, for giving voice to the civilians and to the their lost stories in this brutal war.
I hope peace ✌️ will prevail and people will be living happily again war is bad anywhere the situation looks really bad at the moment
Very informative and moving. It's easy to report from Kiev, it's much harder to go to places like Bakhmut and report on the ground.
@Наталья Мелехова trust me, sunshine returns.
@jian yang unfortunately, no one needs it here. No one is interested in why all this is happening, how much grief people have experienced over the past eight years in the Donbas. Everyone is sorry for Ukrainians, only their president is not sorry for them
@Eziek Kiel reall? so much hunger to defend your own master?
@Forgotten Heritage nope,
Excellent portrayal of different aspects of the war, so keep it up !
This video is straight unbiased,I hesitated to click it at first. Kudus to the media team I ve been longing to see footages from bahkmut but here I got a full, comprehensive video
This was an excellent reporting from the front line. Bravo!!
wow amazing video! Thank you for bringing us inside and see whats its like. Much respect
Today, Bakhmut is now being operationally encircled and there is one last road left to resupply. We thank you FRANCE24 for sticking their necks out to report the struggles of this fortress city.
Great reporting. I felt like I was there for a few minutes. So much stress and sadness on their facial expressions.
Massive reportage, merci beaucoup! Peace upon Angelina, her family, all the families shown, and all the soldiers. Wisdom, strength and resources upon the medical people. "Mir...mir...mir..."
@LuvBorderCollies that's his business and his business alone. Are you sitting on a couch in a warm house eating popcorn?
I am wondering why her boyfriend is not in the army.

Don’t expect to receive pity. He who sows the wind shall reap the whirlwind.
@Guenther Steiner but the conflict goes on since 2014, not 2016.
As an American, I empathize with the woman and her Dad. The US War of Independence was not supported entirely by everyone. There were many loyalists to the Crown. The lady referred to herself as a Patriot, while the older father held an ethnic and Soviet view. "Patriot"
Not Soviet. Only ethnic and religious belonging
My prayers are with the Ukrainian people and realized that people have it a lot worse problems than I do "God Please protect theses people and keep them safe ""
City war is the most deadly war ever and I have been through this in my lifetime South Sudan 🇸🇸… I can truly feel their pain 😢
@dejan gaming yt games zaramoth He probably carrying a american democracy xd
You invaded that country? How come you aren't bad guy then?
Urban warfare is indeed very cruel.
This is the Best report I have seen this far, I got to see both sides of the coin as to the feelings of the people there. Thank you
No breathless melodrama or political side taking ..... front line city civilian situation reporting at it's finest, most neutral and professional.
It is heartbreaking to see the elderly lady at 10:42 (upper right hand corner) walking alone in the middle of a war zone.
Great reporting! It is difficult to see unbiased reporting like this one nowadays. Keep up the good work and be safe!
I really appreciate this kind of reporting, thank you 🙏
The absolute waste of human lives for a horrible reason is beyond my comprehension. I hope that young couple finds some peace.
@Ford Focus
Remember the big guy gets 10% don't forget that.
@Tom Rabe in mariupol you were in peace and also had housings before 2022....
Evil, it's strangely unreasonable.
Great reportage. The sad realities of war. I hope peace talks start soon.
Its amazing that anyone can get used to living under those circumstances
brave people..
Just incredible reporting. Thank you
incredibly brave for these volunteers to pick up people at the front line and take them to safety
I have experienced this kind of horrific situation since when i was young in my beloved country Somalia, it was hard and terrifying situation.
@Office Farmer only an american could speak such words.
I'm not saying that all americans are like this, but personally i havent heard stuff lile this coming from any other nationality than americans.

My combat as very dif but what do I know?
I like the coverage, it gives us real insight into the situation.
French journalists are top notch/ first class. Our German reporting is not even a fraction as good as this! Awesone work!
Europe needs to engage The Russians/bring the devastation to Moscow!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 Roses for the people of Ukraine and brave journalists.
One of the best reports of the entire war thus far
Very good report, which emphasize, that peace is the most important for people.
This is how a war video should be presented. ...Realtime and raw ..unbiased...honest... .not propaganda b.s.
@Fun Bigly 😅😅😅👍

They are so brave people. Wish you all the respect from Finland. We've been in the same situation.
@BITTOO CHATTERJEE
F AMERICA You are absolutely right. Never learn the history
.
God bless them.
A massive respect to France 24 for reporting the ground situation. Tired of hearing unconfirmed news, spread by skynews, DW, CNN etc.
And from another dide?

Top tier journalism, very well done.

This makes me very sad. Only because of the greedy people those poor people suffers.
I wish the world for the New Year a lot of peace and that this horrible nonsense will be over quickly
One of the best war reports I have seen.
Brave and courageous people. God be y'all in Lord Jesus name. 🙏

@Ford Focus
Hello Pretty
Why did you decide that this is an unbiased report? Have you been there?
How is there a new understanding? What were you perceiving at the start?
It is sad. How can anyone live like that....scare, unsecure, expecting the worth every day.
@Goran Jeremic Gor, i thought it was....made in Japan.
Made in USA.
Keep on sending the real news , i hope many Russian people can see this
Good documentary for a french production...no bullish.. as usual but straight reality. Good work
Incredible reporting.
Good job a ton of respect 🫡
Hello
I pray day and night for this war to end. I am hurting, I am losing confidence in humanity. We have wars in Africa aswell but the atrocities are not known to the world.
We tend to relate to people we can identify with sadly. Plus, another sad thing is, this could go global with one misstep. A lot more riding on the outcome than civil wars in other nations.

Real and actual reporting.
All this really puts into perspective of how selfish people with mental illness are. Down with depression I often say to myself. I just can't hold my tears watching victims of war. Lord I pray the war would now end sooner!
This is so horrible and unbelievable . This should not even be happening. God save those people in Ukraine.
This is honestly stellar reporting my god
@Pepe Le Pewok
5:10 wow zelenskyy copying russian strategy
Those civilians walking relaxed while shelling continues 🥺
The other stories made Bakmut seem like a tiny village, but we can see here it's a big city. It really shows just how devastating and destructive the fighting is. This invasion is so senseless and cruel.
I wish people said the same thing when USA invaded Iraq and Afghanistan.
Good reporting, many thanks.
Amazing reporting and many thanks for providing in English Merci 🙏
Brave and tough people on both sides.
Great report from the front line!
It’s so heart breaking! But Navajos also say “whoaaa bah!” And “what the!” Navajo Prayers from the US!
This was an extremely impressive example of battlefield reporting.
It has been reported that some of the Ukranian soldiers have said it would be better if the Russians got Zalensky before they did but unfortunately he will probably retire to his estate in Florida with protection much like Bush and Blair.
salute ukraine, glory to you
Go the Ukraine, some of will help you once it's all over and you start to rebuild, there'll be another Marshall plan but named after someone else, and we'll be there to help even us while we're in our 70/80's. Go you guys !!!!!!!
Nice to hear that everyone interviewed speak Russian
High quality reporting.
BLESS ALL THOSE HEROES !!!!!
Thanks France 24 for sharing the updates from the ground.
It's a shame the family with young kids didn't want to get out
These soldiers are brave, fighting a war we all have a stake in. These people staying there are brave, too, in some ways even more than the soldiers. They all deserve every bit of support we can get them...
Yeah but you won't fight so it is all lost
what is your interest?
Finally a report that isn't filled with propaganda but actual people who have opinions showing the true face of the people. I wish Russian soldiers too could be interviewed in such reports
That old woman sentimnt of waiting for peace is so heartbreaking

So sad for all the families
Peace and restoration to beautiful Ukraine people and country.
F AMERICA kikiiukukikullllo
Well done FRANCE 24. Insightful, brave and honest reporting. True reporting should be apolitical and non-patriotic in style and presentation. James and Ayssa should be nominated for something - even if it is only for Good Conduct & Balance. A story about real lives. This could be and should be shown in schools. Bravo.
Thank you for your coverage and your courage to inform the world of this outrageous attack on democracy and a free Europe
very good documentary. Terrible times in Bakmut/ Ukraine
This is the reporting that the world needs to see. Thanks for shooting this
May peace and love prevail
Heroes !
Imagine it almost sound like a constant thunder storm for weeks or months
Amazing reporting.
