I'm honestly very glad that Yachty took this direction with his music. I heard somewhere that he did this so people will take him seriously as an artist, and I definitely hope that'll happen. Sure, he isn't the only reason that this album sounds as amazing as it does, but he was the curator of it, aka the main driving force of this project. He and his sound definitely grew and evolved over time. Both him and the team behind this project deserve praise, and a lot of it. I hope he'll keep putting out great projects like this while improving.

@The Movie Historian Rap has many different styles and subgenres. What you listened to and the more autotuned style are just two different subgenres, and both of them are as valid as the other. Now, you may take someone like Three Stacks or Prodigy over, let's say, Travis Scott or Yachty, but everyone I mentioned in here is still talented and a valid artist, despite one being more talented than the other.

I grew up listening to real rap and R&B. This guy uses way too much autotune that he sounds like a damn robot, and how can you take a guy seriously who wears a table cloth for a jacket? 😂😂😂😂

@Jawarholol it wasn't so long ago actually I'm a big Yes fan but well I don't see the point of refusing every little change in your favourite genre, if people who love Prog rock don't fuck with new Yachty's music then it's fine just not listening to it, I'm personally fond of rock and rap and even mumble rap so I find it quite interesting as well as enjoyable

@Yokut Sure. When was the last time you listened to Prog rock? Ever feel in the mood to mash up mumble rap with, say ELO, or Yes or maybe Jethro Tull or Hawkwind?
Yes, this sounds as stupid as that

Never been a fan before, hes not usually produced my kind of music but this is absolutely incredible. Probably my favourite album of the year so far, and some great ones have been released. I honestly severely respect his desire to be "taken seriously" and I love how with enough passion and dedication he was able to move into a genre which is completely new to him and still produce something that both lives up to the better music in the genre and even has its own unique sound

AHHH I LOVE THE VULNERABILITY. can we talk about how he as one of the top rap artists of our day (popularity wise) is exposing his audience to more than just “bitches and hoes”. 1) as an african woman I love the rep. It’s usually only in Afrobeat videos that I will see dark skin and black women in general portrayed in a way that is “the love of my life”/“Apple of my eye” kind of way. As opposed to a lot of hip hop artists in America choosing a more sexualize route, mainly only choosing lighter skin women to play “love of my life” type of roles in their videos. So I am glad to see such a big artist do that😆😆 Like yesss we r more than just “angry”, “aggressive”, “big booty” black women and 2) I love that he is being vulnerable without putting the other party down. Don’t get me wrong lmao sometimes a good “bitches/niggas ain’t shit” feels good but it’s gotten to the point where even if a hip hop artist does decide to be somewhat vulnerable he’s always going to refer to the “bitches/hoes” narrative on that same track( idk whether they do it to still seem “hard” or manly or if that’s just how they see most women but yea) . I like that Yachty is being vulnerable even when the other person did something that would hurt anybody and make anybody sad/mad, he still chose the high road. That’s real security right there mad respect to him as an artist

@KING KAKA How do you not pay attention to rap? 💀 sound goofy asf it’s literally 50% of all music I listen to and one of the most popular music genres like…should I be studying the theory of rap in university rn or…💀sry professor. I know others have done similar song themes, I can just appreciate that yachty, with all his influence and etc chose to go in this direction and hopefully open the door for others who want to do the same without being seen as less of a man or being clowned by their community. Same way I can appreciate Carti’s evolution and further merging of two genres and people that otherwise wouldn’t have associated with each other (ik others like Kanye and cudi, xxx, ski mask etc have done similar I just choose to call Carti out here as a more modern, successful genre merger)

    Say some' (say some')
Lately, you've been like the bullets stuffed inside my gun (gun)
The restaurant's about to close, conversation carries on (carries on)
Analyzing your thoughts, tryna see what you're on (you're on)
Half drunk, fully high, you grab my wand (wand, wand)
Leave the past in the rear, it's time we overcome
Our energies align inside of your pond
We can live the dream life, wild, oh
Got me feeling like a teen again, yeah
It's feeling like it's teenage love, hm
If you feel the same way, then say some'
    Say some', say something, oh
I could make it worth your while if you say some' (say some')
    Say some'
I been trying hard not to make scenes
I just got so much passion for you
You been sending mixed signals to me
I been staying moving close to you
I get so upset I fell in love
I get so excited next to you
We should run away, forget the crowd
We should run away, just me and you
Think of all the things that we could do
We can live the dream life, wild, oh
Got me feeling like a teen again, yeah
It's feeling like it's teenage love
If you feel the same way, then say some' (say some')
    Say some', say something, oh
(If you feel the same way, then say some', say some')
I need your love, oh-oh (love)
I need your love, oh-oh (love)
I need your trust, whoa-oh (trust me)
    I need you here
So, so, how you, h-how you scooped her?
    I'll tell you, dawg, see
I told her, "Baby, I'd lie for you, baby, 'cause I'd die for you, baby, baby, I'd paint the sky for you, baby"
    Just like that, brother

He estado tratando de no hacer escenas
    Tengo tanta pasión por ti
Me has estado enviando señales mixtas
Me he estado moviendo cerca de ti
Me enfado tanto que me enamoré
Me emociono tanto a tu lado

He’s had a few lackluster projects but there’s always been some insane talent in Yachty, he was so young when he got popular and seeing an artist reach their potential is so incredible. @SNOWHITEY literally how? Just based on the production it deserves a 6! Lil yachy had some damn good vocals on here too! And the features fit perfectly, a strong 8 in my opinion.

Yo a quick story time from a nobody but the same shit I seen in this video happened to your boi after my lil brother died and my dream girl was going to college I was still in the trap. Soon as I told her what she meant to me she humbled ya boi quick. That was the first time I really felt dumb for giving someone your all. Had me listening to baby come back for like a month. Lil Yachty and juice wrld and xxxtentacion are the artist that can easily paint the picture of true emotions to the world. Much respect
