The thing I like most about Ricky is not that he's funny, but that he's super genuine. He isn't putting on some show to try to impress people, he's just being himself and saying whatever he's thinking.
The fact that he's been such a fucking savage for at least ten years to the talent and they keep bringing him back to rip them apart over and over makes it a thing of pure beauty.
Yea they need him the views for the award shows are dropping every year they need Ricky to Bring in the views he might be savage and so true and make them unhappy but he brings the views and the money.
God I loved that speech at the Oscars. You could feel the stress in the room with all that truth!!!!! He doesn't bow down to celebrities and lick their asses and they don't like it. Keep doing what you do Ricky because we love you for it.
Celebrities have power but apple makes them look like nothing. I'm not surprised he can rip on Mel Gibson, but to be allowed to rip on Tim Apple is nuts.
Not sure what show you were watching, but I saw plenty of people in those audiences having a good laugh, just like any other audience would really. Some of 'em have a stick up their arse for sure, and everyone else laughs at them. Watch the audience reaction when he rips into Angelina Jolie, half of them are pissing themselves.
@Mikey B Yeah he did, especially after he saw himself on the big screen. Although at first he tried to take the joke quickly, and move on, he ended up looking uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed if I say so myself. Cheers to him for taking it for so long though, go short kings.
Ricky Gervais is absolutely hilarious, truthful, and a great entertainer. I love how he cares about animals and nature, and needless to say we share the same religious views!
Ricky is real. He is funny because he doesn't care. He roasts the right people - often those who are wrapped up in themselves. He also roasts those whom he respects and knows have a sense of humor. He calls life as it is and not as some would have us believe it to be. He doesn't have an ego which is refreshing. He is an all around nice fellow.
it reminds me of the scene from grown ups where they do 'arrow roulette', they all know that arrow is coming, they just dont know if its coming for them XD
@Sharon Washington with all due respect, Muslims are more Christians than the so called Christians, because we follow the true teachings of jesus, but you follow pegan churches.... You can watch ahmad deidat Or zakir naik,
Love his perspective on things. U can tell he grew up blue collar and never tires to remind the "elites" how hard it is out there and how ETERNALLY grateful they should be that ppl have allowed them to make a living off such a silly thing as acting.
@Doves you feel it in in his words that he came a long way...not saying that all these Hollywood stars had it easy but lots of them just got lucky with a role and they got stupid money out of it afterwards.
This man is the greatest, he's like the British version of Don Rickles, he has no fear, tells it like it is, & could care less who he insults! Thank you Ricky, one of the only truth tellers left!
go on ricky nice one as always keep roasting people and say it as it supposed to be said, legend as always, people these days cant or understand what a joke is or just simple humour
Never really watched "The Office", but must state, I really have so much respect for Ricky Gervais. He says it as it is, i.e. Hollywood including most of the actors & actresses are a load of hypocritical wankers!!! PS, he was a singer. I think he featured in The Top of the Pops back in the 80s.
Yes, one of his jokes that I remember, he was talking to his audience of something that happened to him - as he does - and it involved a trip of his in a helicopter and he was like, "If you've ever been in a helicopter you'll know - wait! Of course none of you have ever been in a helicopter!"
@Vaibhav Sharma Months late but I can help you out. Mel Gibson had a much-publicized DUI charge in 2006 where he made a few particularly offensive comments during his arrest. Ricky would poke fun at the incident more than once.
Ricky Gervais was always a source of inspiration for me at a high school, I'd get asked to host the pupils/students awards ceremonies (as it was the only way for my teachers to get me involved with any extracurricular activities) and I would always aspire to be as savage, dark and offensive as Ricky Gervais. Roasting my peers and teachers alike. My favourite joke and the one that got me finally banned from doing it, in my final year was about my highschool principal, Mrs Kahn. The joke was as follows: while she admitted that she wasted time implementing the blazer policy, she still denies her involvement in 9/11. Always got a lot of laughs, from both pupils and students, but I got a fuck load of scowls aimed my way. 🤣🤣🤣
The way you transcend the idiotic phenomenon known as cancel culture is to just go no holds barred right out the gate and never apologize. Then everyone just kinda expects it like Don Rickles did back in the day but people could actually take a joke then. Gervais is a legend.
4:15 I always die at the sight of Robert De Niro turning his head away from Martin Scorsese, so he can't see he's pissing himself laughing at the theme park gag!
Ricky Gervais the last of the 'old school' comics. The ones that had the talent to write and perform their material and the courage to just be themselves. I think of Ricky as this generation's George Carlin Someone who the networks allow to 'push the envelope' because their impact is huge, which translates into $$$ for them. But, even though taking the job and the money is the smart thing to do, neither Ricky or George allowed the corporate powers to change or dictate who they are or what they say. I hope the current generation sees this and understands the significance.
What can I say about Ricky that hasn't already been said? 🤔 He's what Jeff Ross would aspire to be, if aspire was in Jeff's vocabulary. . .and not required to wear hockey equipment despite having no team affiliation. . . ever. 🏒 But seriously, 🥂...thanks for the laughs, Ricky. 👑
I'm sure many celebs question whether they will attend when they find out Ricky Gervais is the host...! Nervous times for some of them when the spotlight is on them, it's glorious to watch!
The thing I like most about Ricky is not that he's funny, but that he's super genuine. He isn't putting on some show to try to impress people, he's just being himself and saying whatever he's thinking.
This quality is so attractive 😍😍😍
No he doesn’t, he said that himself. He practice very hard to get every point spot on.
He never acts. That’s how he is and it’s fucking awesome 😂😂
And he says whatever he's being paid for. He did well with hosting those Emmy awards for how-many-times?
@Steve Yang Man’s gotta eat
I swear he's the only guy to make Jimmy Fallon genuinely laugh for once
Nah
Yeah. I almost couldn't tell that everything they both said was being read from the cue cards in front of them.
@Angel nunn nah fakr like always haha
I can't stand Fallon's fake laugh
Nah that was still fake af
It Ricky roasts you, you don't even get mad. It's an honor.
Unless you’re Apple CEO and he’s roasting your sweat shops
Unless you've Steve carrell it looks like
@His Majesty Lord Smenkhare I hope you understood Carrell was acting when he mimed his answer?
@His Majesty Lord Smenkhare Steve's just playing man
You’ve already made it if he roasts you
The fact that he's been such a fucking savage for at least ten years to the talent and they keep bringing him back to rip them apart over and over makes it a thing of pure beauty.
Poetry in motion😂
It's the publicity that kept bringing him back, publicity=dollars.
Yea they need him the views for the award shows are dropping every year they need Ricky to Bring in the views he might be savage and so true and make them unhappy but he brings the views and the money.
@giggity the irony
He’s brilliant
Ricky isn't even joking, he is simply stating facts
No jokes there, some of others.
One of the most brilliant comedians of our generation. His understanding to true comedy and timing is impressive!
Steve Carrel trying not laugh at the office jabs had me
Their rivalry is gold
Ricky earns more than Steve on The Office USA
@YMCA September 😂
It's acting numb nuts
Toby moments all over again
I always love how Ricky's voice cracks as he's telling the punchline of a very dark/offensive joke.
Ace Perfect oh dear god!!! Who cares what awards it was.
@karen walsh the Hollywood Foreign Press I guess...
:

:

... and a guy who calls himself "Ace Perfect".
Oscars 😆😆😆
Scorsese and Leo took those jokes so well 😂😂
"he's not tall enough to get on the rides!"
Scorsese: it's true!!
The only two present who still have a sense of humor (or maybe self-depreciation is the more honest word)
Leo: how’s he know how old she is?!?
I thought Scorsese looked so uncomfortable! Could barely hold his smile!
@Mikey B Yeah he did, especially after he saw himself on the big screen. Although at first he tried to take the joke quickly, and move on, he ended up looking uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed if I say so myself. Cheers to him for taking it for so long though, go short kings.
Because Scorsese is used to old school roastings
Ricky Gervais is absolutely hilarious, truthful, and a great entertainer. I love how he cares about animals and nature, and needless to say we share the same religious views!
'Thank god for making me an atheist!'
Sweet, you think he respects any of these charlatans.
@Louise Bidgood I mean there are some cool people in this video. Some.
The way he cut through Letterman’s bullshit was sublime
Ricky is the uncompromisingly acidic satirical Letterman without the “Ahh, shucks, it was all just in good fun” undertone.
Yes they had the same quick brutally honest humor and worked well together, you could tell they liked each other.
Letterman is so fake..
@Couchlover ???
Ricky seems very kind hearted even if his jokes and roasts sometimes get dark, but I love it.
"I like a drink as much as the next man... unless the next man is Mel Gibson !"
The way his voice cracks is gold, please never change, Ricky
Never change, Ricky - not 'never change Ricky' (think Let's eat, grandma v Let's eat grandma).
I’ve seen that bit so many times already and it cracks me up every time.
@Irielion good point
@Alpha But Banana never replied! Go figure! :)
@Irielion so just to be clear.. you’ve never eaten your Grandma?
I love the nervous tension after every joke as everyone braces themselves, who's next, is it me?
It's like a Russian roulette expect the gun is fully loaded
Everyone knew what is coming, it's hilarious how people try to pretend that Ricky wasn't hired to do exactly what he did. And everyone knew.
it reminds me of the scene from grown ups where they do 'arrow roulette', they all know that arrow is coming, they just dont know if its coming for them XD
Brilliant 😂😂😂
I love Ricky so much 😂 He’s like the only comedian left who won’t beat around the bush with his jokes. He throws a hand grenade at that bush.
There is no better medicine than just watching a session of Ricky Gervais.
A good Christain does not go along with any of those things either. Take note!
@Sharon Washington with all due respect, Muslims are more Christians than the so called Christians, because we follow the true teachings of jesus, but you follow pegan churches.... You can watch ahmad deidat Or zakir naik,
Sorry I do not do religious crap. Full stop!!!
Love his perspective on things. U can tell he grew up blue collar and never tires to remind the "elites" how hard it is out there and how ETERNALLY grateful they should be that ppl have allowed them to make a living off such a silly thing as acting.
Best and insightful comment, Mr. Savage
@Doves you feel it in in his words that he came a long way...not saying that all these Hollywood stars had it easy but lots of them just got lucky with a role and they got stupid money out of it afterwards.
@lajeandom most are just lucky with their looks. Acting isn't difficult and can even be learnt but being super good looking is pure luck.
2:04 *"do it like you were clever enough to come up with this joke yourself"*
annihilated him so well he almost collapsed laughing
That's Fallon's trademark. He collapses in hysterical laughter any time a guest says anything that might be considered even remotely funny.
2:45
He's hilarious and should host every Hollywood show
Roast*
I agree, but people are too sensitive.
@Mica Lo he still hosts award shows What are you talking about?
Steve Carrell is the definition of comedy class 😂😂😂
I love how Martin Scorsese was confirming the joke like “it’s true, it’s true”
Seemed a bit offended, microexpressions wise!
He obviously has a good sense of humor, something Tom Hanks needs lol
@This Commentor that's what I thought too
Add in Dicaprio lol
@Dustin Hemminger true lol
He always make me laugh 😂 I love it when he's roasting people that doesn't think it's funny 😂😂😂
Ricky Gervais is the goat of hosting talk shows
And he doesn't even have one. That shows talent.
He's one of the goats of comedy
Graham Norton is the goat of hosting talk shows.
RG is the goat of hosting award shows
What talk shows has he hosted?
I loved how he roasted David Letterman very gently.
God save this man, his humor really makes me laugh.
Thank you Ricky for making me laugh so much as always You ARE BRILLIANT !! 😄
Steve carell passed the vibe check of all vibe checks
He made Ricky almost laugh if you watch close enough
They often write those bits together before the show, it's more of a running gag than a spontaneous thing
Which ceremony is at 6:19 please ?
@Zuno yo How is Ricky Gervais American?
I just love this guy, great sense of humor and I think he must be one of the most intelligent persons in show business
This man is the greatest, he's like the British version of Don Rickles, he has no fear, tells it like it is, & could care less who he insults! Thank you Ricky, one of the only truth tellers left!
Couldn't care less, not could!
Ricky is a clever comedian, a true star
Love him... He will call them out with no fear of backlash. Mad respect for this mad dude.
We don’t have many but Gervais is a national treasure.
He is brilliant. He says what everybody is thinking and does not give a hoot about it.
Love his devastating honest humor.
Gervais is his own brand of humour.
He’s a fourth wall pro.
Love Ricky Gervais, he says what we all think.
Fantastic. He always knows how deep to cut without drawing blood. A master of his craft!
Love you Ricky in a world that’s gone mad , you keep it real despite the celebrity narcissistic delusions .
Good to see Harvey having a good time in the audience. I sense big things coming for him
go on ricky nice one as always keep roasting people and say it as it supposed to be said, legend as always, people these days cant or understand what a joke is or just simple humour
I think what makes Ricky so funny is the fact he just does not give a fuck about anyone that he's roasting, which is what makes it feel really genuine
Ricky is awesome. I just love him. He’s just plain crazy and adorable.
U just can't beat Ricky, even if u think about jokes for him he'l have one for you out of thin air
When he turns to Dave and goes "it's all about you" is basically the best description of that show.
so many US talk shows. That's why I love Graham Norton
The Office was really brave, a new kind of comedy that many people didn't get because Ricky did it so well.
It’s my life goal to be roasted by Ricky! Absolute legend
Who are you. ? Someone we should know?
@Linda Larsson he's Eric Cartman, one of the lead characters in the popular adult animated TV show "South Park"
The most intelligent comedian in the world.
Not by a long shot
He’s so good and so honest He literally doesn’t give a flying 🤬 👍👍👍😂😂😂
Fair play to all the celebs who aren’t so narcissistic n boring that they could actually laugh at themselves like human beings
If Ricky Gervais roasts people, they can't be mad. It's an honor.
More of Ricky Gervais. Most humble rich guy ever
I’m assuming that’s sarcasm lol
Yes, one of his jokes that I remember, he was talking to his audience of something that happened to him - as he does - and it involved a trip of his in a helicopter and he was like, "If you've ever been in a helicopter you'll know - wait! Of course none of you have ever been in a helicopter!"
"I love a good drink as much as the next guy, unless the next guy is Mel Gibson...." oh man... I almost died while taking a drink.
Almost RIP
Have another hobnob: kzclip.org/video/qIbI9I8Xvdc/бейне.html
Can someone explain that joke for me?
@Vaibhav Sharma Months late but I can help you out. Mel Gibson had a much-publicized DUI charge in 2006 where he made a few particularly offensive comments during his arrest. Ricky would poke fun at the incident more than once.
He’s like the Eminem of the comedy world, a privilege to get dissed
Nice fresh jingle at the end. This guy is genuinely funny. Shock is a main ingredient of his dialogues. Comedy is his element.
I have seen these speeches many times, but it never gets old.
God I wish I lived next to this guy. I'm just like him. The neighbors would despise us. It'd be magnificent.
Ricky is genuinely funny!
I always love how leo laughs about the joke about his date
I wish to be as straightforward and unabashedly honest as him.
3:16 Tim Cook, knowing the inevitable punchline coming next - that face is priceless XD
Is there anything funnier then seeing Ricky in full savage mode.
Yes, the face of his victims XD
Norm Macdonald
@Ruhtra RIP
Norm
Ricky Gervais was always a source of inspiration for me at a high school, I'd get asked to host the pupils/students awards ceremonies (as it was the only way for my teachers to get me involved with any extracurricular activities) and I would always aspire to be as savage, dark and offensive as Ricky Gervais. Always got a lot of laughs, from both pupils and students, but I got a fuck load of scowls aimed my way.
🤣🤣🤣
Anyone know why the blazer joke was funny? ?
@Linda Larsson edgy teenager
it's funny when even himself laughs before finishing the joke lol
I love this guy's humour.
See now, Ricky instinctively just KNOWS how and when to put on a roast…
What are you implying? 🤨
Love this guy, brutally honest 👍
Ricky Gervais is the one British guy who’s voice I actually can stand.
I love how he could barely get through that Mel Gibson joke
Steve carrell playing along with the bit is the best part😂
I never get tired of watching this
Same lol
Me two lol
I never tire of him either. The world would be a better place if he hosted the evening news.
The way you transcend the idiotic phenomenon known as cancel culture is to just go no holds barred right out the gate and never apologize. Then everyone just kinda expects it like Don Rickles did back in the day but people could actually take a joke then. Gervais is a legend.
Ricky is so blessed. So funny.
If RICKY GERVAIS hosted the OSCAR, it would become the MOST watched show on earth!
Ricky Gervais reminding everyone what reality they are in
The only real funny man on TV, a genius.
“She didn’t do a lot for women drivers”!!!
Fucking brilliant
I love Steve Carrell's response 🤣
Master class comedian 👏🏽
The banter with letterman is brilliant
4:15 I always die at the sight of Robert De Niro turning his head away from Martin Scorsese, so he can't see he's pissing himself laughing at the theme park gag!
I would like to see Ricky Gervais and Gordon Ramsey roasting each other . Would be epic 😊
Here ya go: kzclip.org/video/GcRCfFRDG0k/бейне.html
5:04 his look gets me every time 😂😂😂
Same 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Why didn't you do more than twelve episodes?"
"Cos I was tired." 😅
The perfect response.
Yeah because he’s broke and everything.
What can I say about Ricky that hasn't already been said? 🤔 He's what Jeff Ross would aspire to be, if aspire was in Jeff's vocabulary. . .and not required to wear hockey equipment despite having no team affiliation. . . ever. 🏒
But seriously, 🥂...thanks for the laughs, Ricky. 👑
He is the only reason I would watch award shows
The time when everyone used to hang around H. Weinstein, and now they all "look terrified" about what he's done
Yep. Was wondering if anyone would bring this up.
Lots of them knew but he got them to where they wanted to be so didn't care until the public found out
@Jimmy some of them have stood by him still at least by not publicly denouncing him.
There's nobody like Ricky Gervais.
I'm sure many celebs question whether they will attend when they find out Ricky Gervais is the host...! Nervous times for some of them when the spotlight is on them, it's glorious to watch!
The idea of roasting the guests of honour at an industry awards banquet is hilarious until somebody gets annoyed and slaps the next emcee.
It takes a real kind person to be so openly savage ...
Never used to rate Ricky, wasn't that into the office, when I watched his stand up it totally changed my opinion and hosting is just hilarious
Try his other sitcoms, Extras, Derek and afterlife 👌
The man’s an unequivocal genius.
I fucking love Gervais. He's a true legend
Ben Stiller is actually a really big Trekkie. The fact he has a Gorn head is really awesome. I hope he makes it in a Star Trek series.
I love it when he roasts celebrities.
Steve Carrels response was so hilarious
He's too good for this world. Which is why he's destroying everyone in it
