I want to thank you for flying Delta and everyone else for their positive comments. I've been an aircraft mechanic at Delta for over 35 years. Delta has provided me and my family with a great life all of these years. So I deeply appreciate your comments! And concerning us Aircraft mechanics that work on the planes everyone flies. Our motto is, would we put our family on that aircraft when we sign off the Airworthiness release? Trust me on this, we work and live by that motto everyday and everytime we touch an aircraft to repair anything on it!!! And we have as aircraft mechanics the power of God when it comes to that plane leaving the gate. We can ground that aircraft without any consequences from management. Management is behind us all the way. That's why I love working at Delta! Safety is job #1 and is never questioned.
I love delta, my mom is constantly flying so we are Delta 360 members and although they may not be the world’s nicest airline, they are definitely the best in North America!
@JetTech1966 was also really impressed with how well Delta coped during the pandemic. Your balance sheets seem to be a lot healthier than Americans. Should be a better experience for customers
@LiftOffandTravel Me and everyone else at Delta really appreciates that. The new aircraft are being delivered quite often, hopefully we will retire the older ones soon.
Because I live near a small Delta hub, I fly Delta almost exclusively. Seeing you do these comparisons helps me realize I'm not missing out on anything. I can fly from SLC to almost anywhere with one or two stops - so I don't see me switching,. It would be an interesting VLOG for you to compare the different FF programs for Alaska, Southwest, American, Delta, and United. I am a loyal Delta person and will hit 2M miles on my next flight - the Delta loyalty program is definitely another factor in choosing who to fly.
Congratulations on the miles 👍far too loyal to One World. In the UK unless you mind connecting your only choice is British Airways. So naturally tend to use American a lot. No tvs 😳
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ a feller comes to make a post about why I fly Delta and instead I get judged by by someone who HAS NO idea of Who I am or what I believe in. My only response is Matthew 7:1.

Jeb, to be fair and transparent, you may want to consider building an itinerary that has you going from JFK to LAX or Vice-versa leaving in the morning on three different days with those three different airlines. By doing this, you give yourself and these three airlines comparable comparisons. JFK-LAX on Delta day one, LAX-JFK on AA, day two, and EWR-LAX on United day three. Now you will really get a true comparison of the three airlines and the service level’s. Well done video!
I agree. The airline that offer dinner naturally gonna win that category over breakfast and lunch. Should be same time of day and same route for each airline. Not a fair comparison
Exactly! For those of us that fly often this really isn’t a good broad comparison over all . All of these airlines have certain premium domestic flights , different planes and all of those factors can effect the service.
Just NOT on a NEO. If he's going to compare lay flats, that has to be a different (completely different) review. Stick to basic 737-8/900 or anything else in similarity.
Came here to write/suggest the same. Can’t compare food objectively when comparing breakfast vs lunch vs dinner. Also, can’t compare a 20 yr old plane to a new one, etc. All that said, you did it in a day and the editing and jovial nature of your reviews is great!
To be fair, your AA flight is the only flight that represents AA's direction. United will start refurbishing their narrowbodies with IFEs once the chip shortage is over and as for Delta, their 737-800s are the only ones with that old seat design that causes problems for storage. All of their other fleets have a different seat design.

This is what I call reporting, a great comparison between all three major legacy airlines. I wonder how they will stack up internationally, I personally never flown American business class, but I have to say United Polaris is amazing! Great work Jeb, keep it coming!
These US carrier 1st class are similar to international airlines Economy Premium class. It would def not even come close to what is done over the Atlantic. They’re far behind. Not because they can’t pull out some amazing products. It’s because (to my opinion), the expensive for such high end products on US market doesn’t necessarily answer a demand worth the cost. US consumers prefer efficiency. As long as it does the job well! Overseas, the flagship goes beyond efficiency.
I always fly Delta First Class and use the Delta Sky Lounge with my platinum card. But for domestic travel, some of the First Class seats on Delta from smaller cities feel coach-y. Great point about under the seat storage. I thought it was just me.
I knew Delta was going to come up on top. It's the best domestic airline and can compete with any other airline in the world. As an Atlanta native and resident, Delta makes me proud every time. I can't appreciate the two of you enough. This idea was a real challenge considering the problems plaguing the airline industry post pandemic but you guys executed it beautifully. Kudos! Can't wait for your next vlog🤗.
You should do it again....with each airline for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would bet the food and services would be different for the time and date of the flights too. That would be the best comparison.
Luckily you guys got to have an updated 737-800 on Delta. I flew LGA-FLL-LGA on Oct 5-6th and both times the 800 was the old school IFE that you can barely view anything. They outfitted both of these planes with the new Wifi system so I was able to stream, but that cost is now $25 for the fastest service.
The Wifi depends on if you're on a plane with viasat or with the older gogo wifi. Right now to my knowledge most planes still have gogo, the only planetype with all viasat wifi is the A321s. Personally I was a big fan with FLL-LGA was A319s and A320s as those cabins are quite nice for such an old type (all of DLs A319s and A320s are Ex-NWA and some are almost 30 years old).
Im suprised they were on a 23 y/o 738 with the new cabin. I was on a 10 y/o delta 738 and it had the old cabin, and it wasnt a well maintained cabin either
For my travels, I typically prefer Delta's service and American's planes. In my experience, United's service seemed to deteriorate under Oscar's watch but, maybe with the new CEO, it will improve. Great video!
As a Delta loyalist, I do really like the gigantic IFE screens. But Jeb is right. The under-seat storage is compromised because of it. My backpack has to contort itself to fit due to the big controller box for the IFE.
Same, I just had this issue yesterday. The FA was a trooper and told me to pull my laptop. I'd had 2 and we were able to get the bag to fit. My bag fits under the seats on other airlines.
Of those three airlines I have only flown 1st class on AA. They have a direct flight from where I live to back home. The flight attendants have always been so nice. I don’t mind there not being a screen on the seat back because I prefer my iPad. The case I have has a stand that fits nicely in the slots on the seat in front of me. I like the warm mixed nuts and it’s even better when they have the cheese and grapes. It was very interesting to see what the other airlines were like. I enjoyed the video very much.
A very well crafted video! As cheesy as this may sound, I LOVE seeing you guys traveling together. Also, United is saying all their aircrafts will have up to date IFE by 2025 I believe. Maybe we’ll have to do this video again by the end of the decade 🤔 Side note: Can you make a wide body transcon comparison!? That’d be awesome!
Great video! Would love to also see a comparison of the big 3’s “premium transcon”first class offerings. Taking United’s this January to LAX, should be a great time
Pffft, Singapore offered this in business class when flying from NA to SE Asia on their 747s for a long time before this video came out. Domestic first class is basically business class on some airlines in western Europe!
I took Delta on a round trip from JFK to LAX. I found the first class on that trip included access to their lounges in both airports -- where I was very pleased with the breakfast offerings, as well as the lie flat seats. Although at LAX getting from the lounge to the gate involved a long walk, and a bus ride, and then more walking. The folks who checked me into the lounge told me to allow 20 minutes, and it took me a minute or two longer than that.
@Ray Ando Yes, Delta One is the only class with lounge access now and I believe only LAX/JFK flights are the only domestic flights that offer it. I remember they sent out an email on that a few years ago.
My first flight was Delta on a Md-88 from DTW-MSY in first class with a friend. Both of us where on standby and got upgraded before departure. And recently I flew Delta again from DTW-LAS. I’m a Delta guy throughly, each time I’ve flown with them it’s been a great experience.
Jeb's videos are the best! The highest, most professional quality. And the most variety, too. He covers it all. This one was another pleasure to watch.
Thank you for choosing Delta! I am clearly biased but I am happy about the results. I should wonder, however if you reversed the variables (time of departure, on board meal ViaSat internet vs GoGo , etc) if the results would be different. Future video? 😊
I really was looking forward to this video comparison. I’ve flown 5 first class delta flights and 2 AA first class flights in two months. While I did like the IFE on Delta, I found American to be the best. I love your videos!
I've only flown first class once, on Delta from Minneapolis to Milwaukee. Seat 1A. My ticket was an upgrade because the previous day a severe storm shutdown the airport. Was a great experience
I’ve only flew first class on United to jfk and I personally enjoyed it! I was on a much larger plane than the one shown in this video and received amazing service. I’ve always had positive experiences with American, but my only experience I’ve ever had with Delta was despicable! I chose them because of their high ratings but my one and only experience with them left such a bad taste in my mouth, I don’t see myself ever flying with them again.
I always fly Delta, they seem to be the most dependable. What bothers me is Delta won't let you use the lounge when you fly first class (domestic) plus I have a Delta card. They want you to get the card that costs $250 a year and then on top of that they want you to pay $39 to get into the lounge!
The price premium between economy and domestic first has significantly declined over the years. As the price difference has come down, costs such as lounge access or deluxe catering got removed.
Can you try coast to coast first class please? I was upgraded on a Delta flight from jfk to sfo once and had a lay flat bed “seat”. It was an amazing experience. And lounge access was included for that length of a trip.
It wasn't really so much about the "length" of the trip. It's a specialized market specific perk in the highly competitive premium JFK/EWR market to LAX/SFO.
As others have said the proper comparison would be the same route at the same time of day. You would also give us the price of each flight made on the same day and time.
I think this also depends on having the same length flight. When I traveled from Chicago to Orlando last year, our seats were individual seats like international flights that could lay down. It was amazing service.
I just flew on United last week from IAD to SFO and back in United Economy Plus. The plane was a 737MAX, and I must say those flight attendants were busy on both flights, they did an excellent job with full cabins both ways. Thanks for the look at all three, and I look forward to more videos!
Yes, the rumors of lounge access to first class tickets for domestic flights got me. We bought first class domestic seats for the first time. So excited to finally get to see our first lounge at the airport. Nope! You do not get lounge access with a domestic first class ticket. That sucks, cause there is no way we would ever be able to afford international first class tickets. Lol Oh well.
good to hear about Delta. I find their economy product lacking (tight seats, lack of service due to number of seats v staff). Makes sense that as the largest network and most flights, they’d prioritize continued customers like those in premium cabins.
I absolutely love watching your videos Mr. Brooks. As a traveling physician (and budding aviation enthusiast 😬!), each time I board a flight I think about your videos. They are very calming and informative. I want to thank both you and your wife for such amazing content. Please keep up the great work! 😊
I’ve never flown domestic first class on United but did on a trip last year with AA and Delta. AA definitely has a cleaner looking product than Delta, but I (just like you) found the in-flight entertainment on Delta a nice touch. Service definitely better on AA for the same reasons you gave.
Delta recently blew me away, the flight was priced the same as a spirit flight( once u add in that delta lets u have 2 bags for free and spirit charges for all bags) and the headrest movies and tv in the general cabin for free with the new earbuds everytime.. they Lee definitely leading the back currently
I guess it depends on the flight. In September, (my first flight since before covid), I flew first class United (DEN to IAH), was on a 777-200 with flat bed seats, pitch 78, sparkling white wine served before take-off. Pre-ordered lunch, which was hot and good, (not great). The video screens were big but had to be because they were far away. I didn't see the flight attendants too often, but enough that I didn't lack for anything. I especially liked the app that followed my checked luggage from check-in through unloading and loading at connections and told me when it got to the carousel, (and its #), where I could pick it up. That was new to me, and with a tight connection I was glad to know the luggage made the plane.
Great video Jeb and Suzanne. This is a great way to give a true comparison of domestic first class. Love these marathon day videos you produce. Travel safe and see you in the sky😊
Great video. This is a good comparison of long haul domestic but to rank the three airlines accurately, you’d need to see how the first class experience scales down on the regional flights. There’s a much wider difference when you look at how consistent and premium the experience is from a regional flight all the way up to international.
I always tell people how good Delta is and they always try to downplay it but they are really comfortable and I love the snacks for short trips . KLM internationally has amazing food and are super friendly
Though it's really hard to judge an airline by flying just one route at different times, but I agree Delta is number one. I fly UA (as 1K) most of the time and I've experienced over the years the higher level of commitment by Delta staff to their customers.
Last week I was lucky to fly on one of Delta’s brand new A321neos with their new domestic first class. If they had flown in that seat, Delta would have been even further ahead and I assume they would have easily had the best seat.
Transfers at ORD between UA and AA are a breeze as Terminals 1, 2, 3 are all connected behind security. Delta just moved to T5 so it now involves moving on the light rail and leaving the secure area.
I have never flown Delta on international flights before. Back then in 2005, when I flown internationally via Detroit, it was Northwest Airlines that I flown on, and it was before Northwest was absorbed into Delta
Great job and idea. I'm a AA flyer and use their Admirals club when traveling. What I like the most is choosing my seats. Suggestion, maybe adding some of that info. I got buddies who prefer Delta so in our group it's either AA or Delta.
Jen, I really enjoy your videos. You were great on your cross country train tide (one thing I really hope to do in my like time) and on this plane review. I am a huge Southwest Airlines flier though.
Gotta wonder if United was the dinner flight instead of the breakfast flight if they would have pulled out the win in the Food category and then the overall win/tie. skipping the lounge access, i think what this video showcases is service can be spotty depending on the crew, route, plane type and length of flight. But when you put it all together, they all pretty much offer similar experiences. Great video - enjoyed this!
Interesting enough!,it was only 10 day's ago i read a media press release that Delta was the only airline that had the best record.,for their flights all running on time!.Enjoyed as alway's your awesome flight report 👍
This was a nice trip report to view on the comparison of the Big 3. Today I just flew United today from CHA-SFO via ORD. The first leg on Air Wisconsin I just dozed off in the sardine can of a CRJ200...but The second leg Was on a 787 in Polaris and I too had the same breakfast as you did. I’m in love with that Polaris product. The FAs truly went out their way this morning..including the drink refills.
United has a total of over 700 planes on order and will start putting one into service every 4 days in 2023. They are also in the process of retrofitting the entire fleet with a new all interior and top of the line IFE. Major upgrades paired with historic aircraft orders is going to push United ahead. Will be interesting to see the comparison between Delta and United once this is all completed.
Hey Jeb, new sub here! I love your videos brother. This video enticed me to upgrade my AA flight from SLC to CLT to first class. It'll be my first time in first class! Im looking forward to it IMMENSELY. Keep up the good vids. :)
Delta 1st from PUJ to ATL...fantastic service. The second time I tried Delta 1st....we were delayed due to mechanical issues, then the flight attendants didn't acknowledge me or serve me without verifying my boarding pass which has never happened before(I paid for 1st class at time of booking a week prior), then on the connecting flight they bumped me to row 36 and no one was willing to address it (asked the gate agent, flight attendants, etc). It was a horrid experience all around. That was in August, and they just got back to me in regards to a credit for it this week. I will of course give them another chance - but it was so disappointing at the time.
It was fun to watch this video. I only fly on United. Miles and perks for international travels is good and, as a difference from your experience, I have always found service be very good -attentive. Many years ago I did American international several times which provided a poor experience- never again. I did Delta international twice- it was the worst-never again. Thank you for taking us on your trips.
thank you so so much for taking us through the first class flight of US domestic flight. this is specially so interesting for people who are outside of US to really stay updated with what is happening in US, specially after COVID. Thank you for the detail info, and your video has always been so engaging. Love the positivity ~
9:03: I see you ATL I guess there's reason why Delta is priced a bit higher out of USA's "Big 3." I have flown cross country in their 737-800s and they did a great job modernizing their interior, plus topping it off with the seatback IFE to pass the time.
I’d be interested to see how Alaska compares to any of these 3 on comparable long haul flights. They fly into all 3 of these cities, however, not between them. Bet I can predict the winner 😉
On a business trip from Houston to Singapore back in 2010 I learned that all business/first class cabins are not created equal. It involved three airlines, Continental, All Nippon and Singapore. Courtesy of my employer it was my first (and only) experience with upgraded seating. With the passage of time the specific details of each have faded so I am left only with lasting impressions. The leanest was All Nippon. The next best was Continental. But the runaway winner was Singapore. I had heard tales of their excellence for years, and on the return trip I got to experience it first hand. The flight went Singapore - Moscow - Houston and including the stopover in Moscow I was on this Boeing 777 for 23 hours. There were only four seats across and each one of them were like a small cubicle. The seats were VERY wide and folded down flat. It was the closest thing to having a bed to sleep on that I have ever had on a plane, Full pillows, the screen on the inflight video had to have been about 17". It was on this flight that I my first encounter with noise cancelling headphones and the first time I was able to get significant sleep on any airliner. My cubicle happened to be in the last row, and at one point I peered through the curtains for a look back into economy and felt sorry for those who were trapped in those cramped conditions for such a LONG flight. Been there, felt that many times.
I recently flew United for the first time and flew Delta for the first time in a long time earlier this year, and I definitely have to give Delta the nod for Economy. The cabin felt nicer they offered a choice of a few different snacks on all flights on Delta. United only offered a small bag of pretzels on one of the three flights (BZN-DEN) and it was the shortest one. The boarding process was also much smoother on Delta. I will definitely give the nod to United in that the Embraer 175 we flew from BZN to DEN was much nicer than the 717s we flew from MSP to CLT and CLT to ATL with Delta. We have three different flights home from Costa Rica with United in a couple days so we’ll see if they do any better… I would appreciate even a small breakfast on our four hour flight from SJO to IAH that leaves at midnight…
I enjoyed your video you did a great job with comparisons. Delta's first class is excellent domestically and Delta One internationally. You have access to the lounge if you are an Amex Reserve cardholder on the first-class ticket on Delta.
Great video as always Jeb & Suzanne! I was surprised to see this comparison coming so close I expected more of a clear winner but I guess it shows that all 3 major US 🇺🇸 Carriers are GREAT!😂😊 Can’t wait to try United someday I’ve still not flown them… 🙄 Happy Halloween 🎃 Cheers 🥂 -Caleb
I think United's is in an interesting position. If you get on a MAX the experience is a bit nicer, great seatback entertainment, bigger windows, and more comfy seats. Also pre-departure beverage is a mixed experience. It is supposed to be back in full force, but I've had some flights with none, some with just water, and some with OJ, Champagne, and water. The other thing when flying United is you don't have to fly with the cabin you had! 757 and 777 are common on the same route with full layflats. The 757 without the layflats is actually incredibly uncommon.
My top choice is United Airlines Domestic 1st Class on an Airbus. They only gave 9 seats in the same area they place 12 on a Boeing. The legroom is crazy amazing! I also really love Delta for the in flight entertainment.
That's because their Airbuses are smaller than their Boeings in general. Their smallest 737-700 also has 3 rows, just like the A319. They were going to put 4 rows in their bigger A320s, but that's put on hold for some reason. My guess is they will retire those A320s.
Is it wild of me to think that not even first class has entertainment systems on these plays but delta has it for every single seat in the whole plane DELTA FOR LIFE 💪💪✅✅
I have the American Airlines app on my phone…just for the iMessage stickers. What, the stickers are cute and informative. The only other airlines to have stickers are Delta (which also come with the app), QANTAS, WestJet and Alaska Airlines (all three of these are standalone sticker packs separate from the airlines’ apps). I find the WestJet, Fly Delta and American Airlines stickers to be the most useful. The WestJet stickers include messages like “Arrived”, “Departed” and “Delayed” in both English and French as well as the call letters for most airports in Canada. Fly Delta’s stickers also have airport call letters, but for airports in the United States. American Airlines’s stickers include messages like “Made it through security” which can also be useful for telling someone your flight is going to be okay
As always Jeb a great vlog Sadly first class in North America is actually just business class The unfriendly skies of United first up Between American and Delta it is a toss up Only problem I find with Delta out of canada is the insane pricing these days Jeb you of all people should know to leave plenty of time between connections That is one think that ticks me off considering what one pays for “ first class” with all 3 airlines you should get lounge access
Hey, a few comments: the use of the term "first class" for domestic premium travel is merely the way the airlines choose to label the product. It is not intended to be better than business class. For example, with United, "first class" refers to any seat in the front of the plane for most domestic flights. "Business class" refers to their shorter-haul international flights (such as flights to Canada and Central America) and then "Polaris Business class" refers to long-haul international flights (to Europe, Asia, Middle East, Oceania and South America). As far as lounge access: the big 3 airlines here consider their lounges to be paid membership lounges rather than a perk for premium class flyers. The lounges are already way too crowded and would be worse if everyone who bought a domestic first class ticket could enter. The only exception to this policy is if you are flying on one of their premium class transcontinental flights (such as between NY and LA). For all three airlines, these flights get more of an international level of service that includes lounge access. Of course if you are flying international business class, or have a certain level of elite status and on an international flight, you also get lounge access.
Great piece! I used to love the 757 but Delta (my primary airline) I think has gotten rid of just about all of them. They still have lots of 737-8's but the 9's are much nicer (and newer). Just about all of their mainline flights have seatback IFE at this point. Covid helped accelerate their retirement plans for the old MD88, 90's and other non IFE equipped planes. I was very surprised that a virtually new 737 MAX didn't have any entertainment. I think American just doesn't have the money to pay for those types of things currently. I don't follow United much but in fairness, comparing an old 757 to a MAX is pretty hard. I think all three are flying 321's now, if you do a similar comparo in the future, see if you can get on all A321's. Love your work, hope to see you in the skies one day!
The last time I flew on a United 757 was in June of 2021, from MCO to EWR. It had lie flat seats, so I would have been a bit disappointed with the normal setup, as nice as it is.
Would have be interested to seem that at the same time in find the level and quality of service you get changes massively depending on what time of day you fly. With even services normally being the best.
Let’s not get carried away! I knew Delta would win too, but Delta would not beat the top three international carriers, in onboard service. But I fly them for much more than that. I love their alliance partners and their ground service and online and phone customer support. Go Delta!
I really would like to fly Delta again in the future to try business class at least. I will say this: from personal experience, I have nothing against American's crew. They were always professional and a pleasure to talk with. I even had a long chat with an AA pilot on a flight from SFO to Dallas one time. It was an interesting conversation, very casual and friendly but you learned a LOT of stuff too. I was shocked how much time the airline expected him to do flight simulator training, which is why they were having him fly to Dallas. Then he was to get an assigned route and be sent to the city they needed him in but I forgot to ask if there is any "seniority" with pilots and whether it lets them pick the region to fly in domestically.
Hi Jeb and Suzanne! Thank you for uploading this video. This video was very informative! Great to know how the airlines work and the impressions about it! Keep up the great! Best Regards from Florida!
I fly first class all the time. This is a very useful video. Thanks! I always fly Delta and the flight attendants are usually pretty good. Glad I'm making the right choice. Thanks again for all the videos.
Hi - Just wanted to let you know that this video was one of the best Airline/Aviation Videos ever. I really enjoyed it. It made a lot of sense to create the video the way you did. And it was a wonderful summary at the end. Thanks and all the best!
I flew AA First Class back in September of this year from BWI to Nassau via Miami (I was expecting via Charlotte, so Murphy rewarded me 😅) and while the food offerings weren’t really breakfast material for me, they were still delicious. Meal service on that route is on the BWI-MIA leg because it’s a 3 hour flight down the East Coast. My mom thought the bread on her Turkey & Cheese sandwich was damp. I thought it was fine. My dad got a fruit plate and wished he’d gone for the Turkey Sandwich. I would rate that BWI-MIA part a solid 17/25 stars on the JebScore (Lounge:0 Seat:4 IFE:5 Food:3 Service:5). If the food options were more like what was offered by United, that would be a solid 5 stars on the food category. If the route was BWI-CLT, then the score would be 15/25 stars (Food -2) based on my personal history. HOWEVER, the rare times we get a meal service on the CLT-NAS leg receive 19/25 stars (Food +2) because they’re such a treat and I love well-concealed surprises. This goes back to when I went First Class for the first time ever back in 2015 on US Airway’s. That was such a surprise and I am so sad US Airways is gone. I wish I could be a customer of them again just to experience their product more.
I have thought about doing this very same thing. Delta! I’ve been a Delta Fan since I started to fly on there L1011s back in the 80s. Delta Delta ❤️ I do admire Americans device holder and knee room.
As much as I was trying to not be bias, I found myself almost rooting tmfor there to be problems with the other 2 lol. Alas my delta won 😆 although I was disappointed with lack of space under the seats. As a ramp agent for delta, I'm glad we won lol
Another great video. Delta is always my go to airline. Their combination of service, flight availability, clubs, and in-flight meals are generally the best among domestic carriers.
Suzanne is a great addition to your videos. Watching the two of you enjoy traveling together is a real joy. Now, don't go thinking that I don't also enjoy your solo vids. I indeed to, but Suzanne is a real treat.
I just flew Delta first class STL to FLL (stopover in ATL) and my wifi was free on all 4 planes. I found the service, comfortableness and timeliness to be great. But you’re very correct about the under seat storage. It wasn’t tall enough. Just short by few inches. The first plane from STL was older as when I got on the second one which was larger, a 757-200 and it flew like butter. It was clearly newer and updated. I could tell just by the tv screens. I’d fly that 757-200 anytime. Compared to the other planes I had to fly there and back, it was very different and way better.
Really surprised the first two flights didn't have in-seat entertainment. It's been years since I've flown without in-seat entertainment outside of budget airlines.
I rode United 1st class twice back in June, between SFO and Las Vegas. We tried the lounge to no avail. Unfortunately you have to be going to Newark (🤷♂️) to get in. The seats were older but very comfortable. I got great last minute deals on the 1st class service between SFO and Vegas (like $99). I'm disappointed to see United come in 3rd. I really like United (I get a 5% Veterans discount on United, American has 10% but it's difficult to figure out). We, the wife and I have flown United for our trips to Walt Disney World and they have been wonderful to us!
Delta is my favorite but first class isn’t much different than the class below it. I flew from east coast to west Delta Comfort and back to the east coast First Class. I wouldn’t fly anything but Delta. Thanks for the comparison video.
I flew Spirit twice last week from IND -> MCO on their big front seat. I had 6 extra inches of legroom from my feet to the seat in front. The seats were very comfy and the windows were plenty big to look at. Our plane was also very new as it was a 3 year old A320. Wi-Fi was only $6 and the flight attendants were helpful and cheerful. I say all of this because my experience flying Spirit wasn’t much if at all different than the 3 major airlines first class offerings. And the big kicker, I only paid $70 each way. Either the narrative needs to change about Spirit or the major carriers need to up their game with first class. Especially if they are going to continue to charge what they do.
Not having in-flight entertainment is just unbelievable. Especially in first class. You get that in coach in 1st world countries.
Word if thats what first class looks like then wtf does coach look like? Im scared to even fly now I feel its gonna be uncomfortable smh
Imagine ecomeny had a screen but no first class
American use the WiFi to steam content which is handy. However the last time I flew them it didn't work on a 3hr route 😕
Just looked it up. 90% of delta's fleet has seatback entertainment for ALL customers.
@LiftOffandTravel hopefully is all I can say...I'm just a mechanic that has nothing do with much other than keeping the aircraft safe and in the air.
@JetTech1966 was also really impressed with how well Delta coped during the pandemic. Your balance sheets seem to be a lot healthier than Americans. Should be a better experience for customers
@SoLvEnTLeSsLiFeStYLe We all really appreciate that. Competitiveness is always key. I know we aren't sometimes but I do know they try.
No tvs 😳
You and me both!
@Okee Smokee LOL

I was going to suggest that too.
I remember a few years ago when they refitted and economy still had IFEs and the new first didn't 😕 however its on the WiFi now ✈️

Good to know but I fly allegent
@Blank fair but no this was the old one with the tiny screen and I can barely get away without extenders
This is what I call reporting, a great comparison between all three major legacy airlines. I wonder how they will stack up internationally, I personally never flown American business class, but I have to say United Polaris is amazing! Great work Jeb, keep it coming!
So never book a 1st class domestic flight in America. Got it
@Repent and believe in Jesus ChristI WILL SEND YOU TO JESUS

Kudos! Can't wait for your next vlog🤗.
their customer service is terrible, though.
Nice reply 👍definately needs on my list to try
@cat virgin is 51% owned by delta lol
@Robert Dooley maybe get some glasses dude
@ANF4LYFE accualy it’s top 10 globally
You should do it again....with each airline for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would bet the food and services would be different for the time and date of the flights too. That would be the best comparison.
Hello! When was the last time you booked with them ?
Best comment
Luckily you guys got to have an updated 737-800 on Delta. I flew LGA-FLL-LGA on Oct 5-6th and both times the 800 was the old school IFE that you can barely view anything. They outfitted both of these planes with the new Wifi system so I was able to stream, but that cost is now $25 for the fastest service.
How big the old IFE screen?
The Wifi depends on if you're on a plane with viasat or with the older gogo wifi. Right now to my knowledge most planes still have gogo, the only planetype with all viasat wifi is the A321s.
Personally I was a big fan with FLL-LGA was A319s and A320s as those cabins are quite nice for such an old type (all of DLs A319s and A320s are Ex-NWA and some are almost 30 years old).
I am SO annoyed that we have these crappy old 737’s on LGA-FLL now. I fly this route all the time and it used to be all A321’s!
They have the oldest planes and they really need a update out but it’s cool. Just old and needs a update
As a Delta loyalist, I do really like the gigantic IFE screens. But Jeb is right. The under-seat storage is compromised because of it. My backpack has to contort itself to fit due to the big controller box for the IFE.
yup but on the newer planes like say the a321 or a330 those good space for me
@kev2020 sorry to hear that if you don’t mind can we chat privately
Same, I just had this issue yesterday. The FA was a trooper and told me to pull my laptop. I'd had 2 and we were able to get the bag to fit. My bag fits under the seats on other airlines.
I’ll gladly take the IFE over more storage space.
@sketchyAnalogies Hello victor how are you doing
Maybe we’ll have to do this video again by the end of the decade 🤔
Side note: Can you make a wide body transcon comparison!? That’d be awesome!
Great video! Would love to also see a comparison of the big 3’s “premium transcon”first class offerings. Taking United’s this January to LAX, should be a great time
@Jack Wells Hello jack how are you doing
@EvanAviator yes… 4 years ago. Would love an updated one as the pandemic has changed a lot within the industry
He’s done exactly what you’re looking for actually

The hot towel is really an underrated offering for first class
What is the use for that ?
@largol33t1 I know it's been a thing, just not one everyone talks about
Pffft, Singapore offered this in business class when flying from NA to SE Asia on their 747s for a long time before this video came out.
You were probably on Delta One instead of First Class since I believe D1 provides lounge access (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
Flew out of LAX in delta and we hat to shuttle bus on the tarmac to our planes at another terminal
Delta definitely looks the most inviting I'll use them if I ever find myself traveling domestic in the states, great review Jeb :)
AA flights are always delayed
My first flight was Delta on a Md-88 from DTW-MSY in first class with a friend. Both of us where on standby and got upgraded before departure. And recently I flew Delta again from DTW-LAS. I’m a Delta guy throughly, each time I’ve flown with them it’s been a great experience.
I think Delta Airlines is the best US carrier too.
Great video as always.
Keep it up.
I used to think that too until my just recent experience.
The United 757-300 has been my favorite ever since the merger. Just flew SFO-ORD on Monday. Excellent crew and service.
Jeb's videos are the best! The highest, most professional quality. And the most variety, too. He covers it all. This one was another pleasure to watch.
@DJ London obviously
@Kiril Mihaylov It's better than the alternative.
@DJ London Hello how are you doing
Hello Ben how are you doing
@DJ London he is getting old though
Thank you for choosing Delta! I am clearly biased but I am happy about the results. I should wonder, however if you reversed the variables (time of departure, on board meal ViaSat internet vs GoGo , etc) if the results would be different. Future video? 😊
@Canyon Overlook I meant United is the worst in general overall of the 3
@Erwin A No united is not clearly the worst from this video. AA was dirty and had a cold meal.
Delta is the obvious winner without bias. United is the worst of the 3.
Delta is by far my favorite! Their lounges are also great if you ever get the chance!
I think it would be really cool if y’all did a first class comparison for dinner on all three of these airlines across 3 different days.
Just flew on united first class. Breakfast wasn't bad dinner was awful
It's not a question of trip length. JFK-SFO is a domestic Delta One route. Just because a flight has a lie-flat doesn't make it Delta One.
Didn't it fall from the sky
Yes, the rumors of lounge access to first class tickets for domestic flights got me. We bought first class domestic seats for the first time. So excited to finally get to see our first lounge at the airport. Nope! You do not get lounge access with a domestic first class ticket. That sucks, cause there is no way we would ever be able to afford international first class tickets. Lol
Oh well.
good to hear about Delta.
I appreciate how fair and thoughtful your reviews are. Also, you and your wife are so pleasant and warm, it's always a treat to see your videos.
Great flight report as always!!! I've flown lots of times but never three planes in one day!!! Outstanding!!! Hello from Argentina....
Great video Jeb and Suzanne. This is a great way to give a true comparison of domestic first class. Love these marathon day videos you produce. Travel safe and see you in the sky😊
Hello William how are you doing
I thought first class was supposed to be a bit fancier than that. Very interesting and informative video. Thanks for sharing!!
You should try JetBlue Mint (first class). It’s by far the best first class experience domestically.
You should do more on the differences on all the types of flights from first class to coach in other airlines too even internationally.
Great job Jeb and Suzanne, this is a very well made video and has good information on each airline.
Great video! I'd love to see you do a similar comparison of the Big 3 US carriers on their long haul international business class products.
thank you so so much for taking us through the first class flight of US domestic flight. this is specially so interesting for people who are outside of US to really stay updated with what is happening in US, specially after COVID. Thank you for the detail info, and your video has always been so engaging. Love the positivity ~
9:03: I see you ATL
I guess there's reason why Delta is priced a bit higher out of USA's "Big 3." I have flown cross country in their 737-800s and they did a great job modernizing their interior, plus topping it off with the seatback IFE to pass the time.
I knew Delta would win! I love them because even coach is comfy and well serviced.
I’d be interested to see how Alaska compares to any of these 3 on comparable long haul flights. They fly into all 3 of these cities, however, not between them. Bet I can predict the winner 😉
Like you Jeb I really miss the inflight magazine ‘SKY’ on Delta whom I fly regularly. The route maps and fleet info were the highlight.
I was surprised to see this comparison coming so close I expected more of a clear winner but I guess it shows that all 3 major US 🇺🇸 Carriers are GREAT!😂😊
Can’t wait to try United someday I’ve still not flown them… 🙄 Happy Halloween 🎃
Cheers 🥂
-Caleb
@Gage Carlsen the 737 has either 12, 16, or 20, depending on the variant (737-700 vs -800 vs -900)
Airbuses have 12. Everything else 16 or more except one 737 has 12 seats I believe.
That's because their Airbuses are smaller than their Boeings in general. Their smallest 737-700 also has 3 rows, just like the A319. They were going to put 4 rows in their bigger A320s, but that's put on hold for some reason. My guess is they will retire those A320s.
Would be great to see you repeat this comparison but add the requirement that all flights include the current interior design for each airline
We love Delta! Direct flights from MSP to Jamaica and Cancun can't be beat.
Loved the video. To fairly compare, you'll need to do separate flights on each airline of about the same distance at the same time.
As always Jeb a great vlog
Sadly first class in North America is actually just business class
The unfriendly skies of United first up
Between American and Delta it is a toss up
Only problem I find with Delta out of canada is the insane pricing these days
Jeb you of all people should know to leave plenty of time between connections
That is one think that ticks me off considering what one pays for “ first class” with all 3 airlines you should get lounge access
Hello Ted how are you doing
Thanks so much!!
It would be really fun to watch you fly each airlines signature cabin! The United experience you had is for sure no longer the standard.
My 1st flight ✈️ was delta 🥰 I'm from Chicago
And, now I just received my American express delta SkyMiles Gold. Can't wait to travel more this year 🍾
Always enjoy your reviews, calm, balanced and you bounce off each other very well. Keep it up
I just flew Delta first class STL to FLL (stopover in ATL) and my wifi was free on all 4 planes.
Hello Captain! Please when was the last time you booked with First class on their airline ?
Really surprised the first two flights didn't have in-seat entertainment. It's been years since I've flown without in-seat entertainment outside of budget airlines.
You know youve made it in life when you book first class on 3 airlines just to have meals ☠
