I'm sitting in my back yard Loving watching birds and chickens, and thanks to your videos also getting to travel through South America in comfort. Only wish I could get to eat the food as well
Sometimes it seems like that airlines such as Singapore Airlines have used long distance rail accommodations as an inspiration to their own inflight First Class Suite products.
I dont think you understand how much I love your videos and the entertainment they give out, thank you for giving your fans such good content and thank you again for another awesome video.
Lovely train. Was built in and for Australia. It was an Australian "Orient Express" but failed to draw enough custom to succeed. I remember seeing it pass through my local station (Maitland, NSW) when running in Australia. Wondered where it ended up! Lovely Peru - and accessible to the much valued North American passenger base. Hope it prospers there.
You've definitely become my favourite travel KZclipr.. the videos are stunning but you're just a good dude and you make the trips super fascinating. I'll have to add The Andean Explorer onto the bucket list.. that shot at the end of the train while you're having coffee was just so cool
Seconded! Although in my case, the only travel channel I follow. The algo popped up a vid a while ago and here we are. I've checked other travel channels out and just don't vibe with them. 💜
@Trek Trendy yes! my life is a brutal, painful, horrible mess from long covid. it's really nice to be able to see other places I no longer have any hope of ever seeing.
I'm always so excited to see a new Trek Trendy video, and this one didn't disappoint. The scenery was amazing, the train looked luxurious, and I love that Millie joined you for the trip.
Love that you’re promoting trains. Such a luxurious and ecologically friendly way to travel. It’s my ultimate dream to be able to take these kinds of trips. You’re my favorite travel vlogger
Love train 👍 But ecological? Pretty sure covering 1000 miles in a jet will use much less diesel than 1000 miles in a train Train still better for the view 👍
@Understanding Depends if the loco is diesel-electric they’re generally more efficient than jet engines. Also, not sure if it applies to this train, but the carbon emissions are divided in a lot more numbers of heads on a train maybe thus being (marginally) better per capita basis
Thanks for sharing this adventure, you guys! The unique scenery, excursions and highly ambitious food make the fare quite reasonable, frankly. Looks like a perfect honeymoon trip.
Wow! I just love seeing these adventures through your eyes. Thank you so much for the time and energy you put into sharing them with the world. Great to see Millie again too! What struck me is the extreme poverty outside your window in some places and the contrast of the opulent train. How great that you got to see the caves, lake, and culture as part of the journey. $5000 is a bargain for such an experience!
I like your airplane videos but I absolutely love your train videos! Hope to see more of them 😀 (plus maybe you could add something like ferries or maybe some luxury overnight buses?)
My 12 year old twins and I always get excited when you put out a new video and watch it together! Thank you for taking us along on your amazing journeys
This has become one of my favorite channels. Only ever been on a train once in my life and it wasnt a pleasant experience, but have always been fascinated by them.
This was a brilliant video. I really enjoyed it, especially with it being a little longer than usual. Also lovely to see Millie again. It helps give you an idea of what it would be like for a couple to enjoy such an incredible experience.
Fantastic and very informative review of the journey, with lots of unique content and incredible shots of the spectacular Peruvian landscape. Will has really set the bar for other travel product review KZcliprs to follow.
Glad you noticed and mentioned the fact that the carriages were built in Queensland, Australia. I was able to inspect the train when it came to Melbourne (yes, the train is bogie exchangeable) in November 1997. The decor was somewhat different to what you experienced (more polished timber than painted in delicate tones). Unfortunately, the market for The Great South Pacific Express was very thin and that is why Belmond were able to pick up the train ' for a song', as they say, and move it to a location that has greater international tourist appeal for people with deep pockets.😉
Enjoyed every minute of it! Just perfect, lovely Millie being a big bonus on this trip. ;-) Had no idea Peru offered a journey like this, I'll keep saving up for when I'm retired!
Wow!!🤩 What an amazing experience! How special you were able to bring Millie along for this one. 🥰 Thank you for this beautifully edited vlog! Those views & the caves were so awesome! I would love to experience this some day.
It is always so nice to see Millie with you on the luxury trips. My wife would never go for me doing them by myself and I wouldn't want to either, having your partner with you as you travel is so much more fun. And Millie is so darling and an excellent addition to the content, love your take on things but having your travel partner's opinion expands the content exponentially. Truly proper William!!
Peru is one of the most beautiful and underrated countries in the world for travel. Had the pleasure of spending a summer there. Can’t wait to go back.
"You don't get this corn down Tesco, mind!" Words probably never before heard on the Andean Explorer! But seriously what an outstanding video, really well done to both to both of you. Although this trip and your excellent descriptions are a joy to watch from a distance I did get a hint of endurance rather than enjoyment. Maybe I just shudder at the two 5am starts! That apart a real triumph Will, very VERY impressive work.
Loved this, Will. Great to see you and Millie touring the World. Esp. Peru and this strikingly high altitude of the Andeas! The food looked incredible, most of the time. (Hilarious Lemon Drink!)
I may never get to go on any of these trips.. but thank you for allowing me to live (at least some) vicariously through you. However, this is one of five of the trips you have taken I really will put on my bucket list!
Discovered your fabulous travelling videos after I broke my back. (Recovering and can walk). I love travelling, and so being able to ‘travel’ with you, and sometimes Millie, has been a dream
Why am I not surprised the carriages are originally from Australia. All through the video I was having flashbacks of my 72hours on the Ghan, in a Platinum suite, minus the altitude sickness of course. 😂 The onboard experiences, off train excursions and gifts at the conclusion felt very familiar. Even having a window on both sides of your suite. Great video!
Amazing video! Peru is absolutely stunning and the train experience looks amazing.... All those landscapes from the scenic car, the food and drink, wonderful service and great stops along the way. Congrats to spotting the plaque on the train and pointing out it started life in Australia... that was interesting to learn This trip is now on my bucket list
Wow what a fantastic trip, super impressed!! I believe Belmond also is still running a similar train experience through the Scottish highlands. It was supposed to go out of service but looks like it is still currently operating on the website. That would be cool to compare the two train trips since they are both operated by Belmond.
What a cool video!!! I'm sure they tell everyone, but drinking water is key to fighting altitude sickness. I've lived at a high altitude for most of my life and if you drink just an insane amount of regular water, it really makes all the difference. That being said, I definitely don't live above 10,000 feet! Your videos are very fun to watch. Thanks for the great content!
Catching up with your channel, enjoying it no end mate. I did a little cheer when I saw that Molly was traveling with you. Her being around always makes you happier on the trip :)
I did this exact trip in June for my honeymoon. ThenManager was exceptional and the whole experience was worth every penny. Be warned of altitude sickness!
This is one of those things in life where its a once in a lifetime opportunity. Just for the views, travel and the experience alone, I'd spend the few thousand for this. Looks amazing!!!
I remember vacationing as a kid in Peru. We took a very cold train ride to Machu Picchu. Beautiful archeological site, reminded me of Pompeii in a way. There was a stray dog at the station getting on who was very friendly and I didn't understand why we couldn't take them with lol. Good times
I'm glad you could handle the altitude. Most of the time you were near the altitude of Pike's Peak in USA. I've only been there once and was miserably sick the entire time. There is a cog train that takes you to the top, I was so nauseous the entire time going up and being there, and every inch we went back down I felt better and better. What a beautiful journey.
I absolutely love your site and especially your train trips. For someone that has never been abroad due to ill health you have shown me what a beautiful world we live in. Keep up the great work. P.S. You and Milly make a perfect couple. X
As he ever done a video or something where he fully breaks down how he started the channel/got to where he can do/afford these things? Feel like that would be neat!
Hi trek trendy, i love ur vids and u make me so happy. 22 mins of great content and i cant stop watching you! Have an amazing day and keep up the amazing work 😁😃❤
through this channel I'm seeing all kinds of different options of travel that I can experience when I have the time. Keep up the good content and I await all your uploads.
I have to say I think that is my favourite video you’ve done TT. Beautiful location and scenery, the train looks amazing and classy too. Can we get a regular feature of you grading your meals and drinks via Millie’s facial expressions also? That was great! 😂
Absolutely beautiful and glad to see Mille again. As always you did a great job explaining every detail of your trip. Also you and Millie make a great partnership. Look forward to your next video.
Another great adventure! My wife and I thoroughly enjoy you and miss M's travels. Keep up the great work and we will be right back here for the next one. - John and Ploy (she is originally from Thailand) in Houston, which as you know is a home to an organization featured very prominently on this channel 😉.
Lovely video! So glad to see Millie is getting to have an adventure as well ❤️ Man, I haven’t heard “Lake Titicaca” since my 8th grade geography class 😂 I feel like a 13 year old boy, giggling at it 😂😂
How wonderful to see the lovely Millie this time! Did you both manage to survive the jaw dropping altitude? Did either of you need oxygen during the off train excursions?
Definitely been liking these train vids over the plane ones as of late. Always nice when you get to bring her along too on these trips. Looking forward to the next one.
.. There is something quite calm about your channel. You show us what we need to without all the fluff. I really think you deserve so much more following wise.
Beautifully shot, check. Informative, check. Entertaining, check. Trek Trendy never fails to impress! Thank you again for sharing your amazing travels with us. I know firsthand how much work these videos entail and I truly appreciate the effort. Looking forward to the next one! 😊 PS - Millie is adorable and the two of you make a charming couple 💕
I just started watching your channel and I'm fascinated with your content and the filming. Beautiful and breath- taking views of the train rides and food. I have bing watched all the luxury trains you have been on and a great way for me to experience it without paying for it. Ha 😃 keep up the great content.
I loved this episode since I am a train fan hoping to go on a great trip someday soon. I love when Millie is on! I would have been mad at you for not taking her! Your content is awesome. Please explain your connection to NASA.
As someone with serious food allergies, that menu allergen code gives me chills, at best it's vague if not downright incorrect. I'd love your job, but I think I'd starve sadly. Awesome review as always.
Beautifully filmed. We can all see the sun rise everywhere in the world so... making the effort to be out of bed at 5:00 a.m. to share with your viewers is appreciated. Menu and food close ups were also appreciated. I think Millie summed it up best (paraphrasing) "it's like the Orient Express but modern" Well said Millie! Were the drinks included? Thought you might have partaken in a bit more champagne but then again at that elevation... we all understand. Thank you for investing the time to film, edit, and share with us. Always appreciated and special thanks to Millie for allowing to share in her experience as well.
Ernest Adam Malinowski (5 January 1818 - 2 March 1899) was a Polish civil engineer best known for constructing the world's highest railway(PERU) at the time.
My all time favourite Trek Trendy episode ! South America, High altitude, Millie looking fanfriggintabulous ! Oxygen therapy? Such 1st class in an otherwise inhospitable world. World class food, on a train? They should have served Cuy for the ultimate experience. I'm American, (sorry) so I would have loved to experience Cuy in this setting. Beautiful and romantic settings on the Train, the settings, the service....Everything ! I love experiencing top cuisine at different locations. It is all different, and subjective. You simply can't compare the 3rd stop of the Andean Explorer, to say the 2nd stop of the Orient Express with regard to food and dishes. They're both fabulous. Trek, you've managed to take your Girlfriend on both, (and several others). You, Sir, are a Man of wealth and taste. Excellent video addition. Love from California !
Really great video as always. I really appreciate that you did talk about the time it was the Great South Pacific Express. It’s a shame as that train was an absolute masterpiece but 9/11 helped kill it off due to a lower demand from international visitors. There is a missing carriage from the GSPE which nobody has a clue to where it is. While I do like the new aesthetic of this train, I will always prefer the GSPE more, but of course there is some bias in there.
Fantastic video as always. Love the expression on Millie's face when she tried the lima bean cappuccino which I suspect would be my reaction as well. Peru is at the top of my destination list and it's always a treat to see you head somewhere on it.
Having Millie able to be camerawoman and record you and you record her in the experience if bloody brilliant!! Top notch William, please incorporate the partnership of travel partner more, it makes it more approachable for me to show to my wife as she likes seeing the two of you traveling together and gets bored with just seeing you traveling without Millie on your wonderful travel experiences.
Always love your train journeys and having seen Jeb Brooks do this exact journey it was a nice contrast as well from another perspective on the trip. Definitely on my bucket list possibly Honeymoon trip as well as at least an option.
What a fantastic adventure! I'm so glad Millie got to join you. I loved seeing the alpaca's you passed by and the people you both met. I am curious, what were those little black devices you were both wearing with the blue lights? I don't recall seeing those before in your videos. Great video, btw. Thank you!
One of my biggest regrets in live is not getting up for the sunrise from the top of Half Dome, thinking I'd be able to do it again and I was so tired from the previous day's hiking, the following year they stopped allowing camping on the top of Half Dome so I forever missed my sunrise there. Sunrises are so special and I have witnessed the from many places on the planet. Better to get up and see it and then go back to sleep after or take a nap in the afternoon than miss the sunrise in a special place. And William, this is the best show that you have ever shot, it's worthy of being shown on the BBC. Great Job with the camera work and your editing! Top Notch and to quote where I'm from, It's Hella Good!! And Hella Bad!!! Bad of course meaning very good in Northern California language... NorCal is my home!!
This reminds me so much of a river cruise, but by train. Cabins on cruise ships start around 15m squared so 13 on a train is BONKERS. 😅 Fantastic video as always! ❤
Thanks for making me regret my trip to Peru!! I definitely did it wrong. And altitude sickness is REAL. That was the worst day of any trip I've ever taken! In all seriousness though, this is by far my favourite channel, and I love your in depth reviews!
Enjoyable and relaxing video. What is so good about this particular railway journey are the fascinating side trips on the lakes, to the caves etc, and the market, not forgetting theonboard spa. It makes this one really special, and better value for money.
Yet another fantastic video, fantastic shots of the sunrise, also great to see Millie again. I think I won the bingo tonight, when you said the customary dc I shouted House!! 😎
Really happy to see you try this. Peru is incredible. for anyone reading this, if you find yourself in Cusco, I highly suggest one night at the Belmond Monasterio. To this day, it's the prettiest hotel I've ever stayed at and shows a true embodiment of what olden Cusco would've been like to live in.
Always enjoy your videos, this one brought memories back as I did the Andean express from Cuzco to Puno back in 2009! Different train but great luxury and it was only 100 US$ (day journey only but 5* all the way) pity you didn’t visit Arequipa one of my favorite cities in Peru , thanks for sharing!🥰

Have you considered how large your carbon footprint is compared to the average human? I hope you consider offsetting your carbon emissions somehow
@DanDunfordRSM nope i have not checked yet but i shall consider it n work on it
As a disabled person who can't travel very far I love your video's, they show me the world from my bedroom. Thank you for that! ❤️
much love towards you 💞
Hi Ms. Odette, I'm disabled also; so I certainly know what you mean 😊.
I'm sitting in my back yard Loving watching birds and chickens, and thanks to your videos also getting to travel through South America in comfort. Only wish I could get to eat the food as well
Ditto. Frances
Hopefully once virtual reality really takes off you will be able to have even better experiences
The suites on the planes used to be my favorite videos, but the long train videos took the top spot.
Sometimes it seems like that airlines such as Singapore Airlines have used long distance rail accommodations as an inspiration to their own inflight First Class Suite products.
I really like the more modern style, wish there was more variance in design of these luxury trains
It's really great to see Millie so comfortable on camera. I've said it before and i'll say it again, she's a natural star 🌟 x
I dont think you understand how much I love your videos and the entertainment they give out, thank you for giving your fans such good content and thank you again for another awesome video.
Thank you so much, it means the world to hear that :)
So well said!
@Trek Trendy u should propose to Millie
@Trek Trendy looks like the same train that Jeb Brooks did the other month.
@Holly Heaphy noooo… he is a free spirit, once she had her claws in he would be doing a 9-5 and mowing the lawn on a Sunday.😂😂
When was this? I live in Maitland too!
You've definitely become my favourite travel KZclipr.. the videos are stunning but you're just a good dude and you make the trips super fascinating. I'll have to add The Andean Explorer onto the bucket list.. that shot at the end of the train while you're having coffee was just so cool
Thanks so much for watching 🙏🏼 and I’m so glad you enjoy the travel content means a lot to hear

I agree! Im shocked!
Great to see Millie again ! She's a great addition to your posts !!!!! This was a very interesting journey AGAIN the food is amazing!
Enjoyed every minute of it! Just perfect, lovely Millie being a big bonus on this trip. ;-) Had no idea Peru offered a journey like this, I'll keep saving up for when I'm retired!
I love the train. I travel on Amtrak all the time, but I must say your trips inspire me to start my bucket list of trains to travel on. ❤️
Having Millie with you made the vlog more relevant to me as I never travel alone. Having a travelling companion makes a journey more fun.

Another scenic and informative video Will. I’m glad that you were able to bring Millie along with you on this journey.

Loved this episode, particularly with Millie coming along. The scenery was beautiful. Your suite was great and the food looked delicious.
Always love your train journeys and having seen Jeb Brooks do this exact journey it was a nice contrast as well from another perspective on the trip. Definitely on my bucket list possibly Honeymoon trip as well as at least an option.
Looks like a very nice experience! I'd love to do a journey like that one day. It's always nice to see videos like these.
As a Peruvian, I’m ashamed that I’ve never been on a train! I live in Ohio now but I still miss my homeland.
you need be rich peruvian to ride 😀
As a disabled person, I just love all your videos. I've been binge watching them for a few days. Thank you and Happy Travels
This was just amazing!! Thx you to taking us with you in this incredible journey!!❤❤❤
The service on this train almost reduces the stopovers and stunning scenery outside to a sideshow. Thanks for taking me aboard.
Could you do a Q&A video soon? It's fascinating how well traveled you are and I'd love to know how you got started
This reminds me so much of a river cruise, but by train. Cabins on cruise ships start around 15m squared so 13 on a train is BONKERS. 😅 Fantastic video as always! ❤
Love all of this! The production, the analysis, the style, the Millie, everything!
Loving the train travel videos! Luxury trains are so cool, wish we had more options in the US.
Thanks for making me regret my trip to Peru!! I definitely did it wrong. And altitude sickness is REAL. That was the worst day of any trip I've ever taken!
In all seriousness though, this is by far my favourite channel, and I love your in depth reviews!
Hi Will and Millie! Thank you for this beautiful video. I love that this trip included excursions
I live in the neighboring country of Bolivia but never heard of this train. What an absolute beauty and experience.
Great videos man, love how you and mellie tour the world definitely couple goals
Какой шикарный поезд, такой уютный и комфортный! Завораживающие пейзажи на всём протяжении пути. Спасибо за видео, новых дорог!
Been looking forward to this video all day and it's finally here!. Love your train videos. Hope you do the Asian Orient Express soon!
Man these videos get me in a great mood. You are inspiring me to do something like this, these trips look amazing!!!
