@hi yes, that’s generally true in a lot of Asian countries because the traffic is just so bad public transport or a bicycle will get you to your destination easier than driving. (I have been to China, I have seen how bad Shanghai traffic can get and from what I’ve seen in pictures and videos, Seoul and most of the other major cities in South Korea don’t seem to be places with efficient traffic either.)
Tbf some places, public transport is way more popular since most ppl can't afford cars or a place that can store one, or sometimes traffic and gas prices are just generally a nightmare so it isn't worth it
