In 2006 I was able to afford a brand new $23,000 car. I wrote a check for the full amount. 2023, I'm still driving that car. That's how I've saved money. By Not Spending It.
I saved enough to buy a $45k Mercedes with cash. But didn’t. I hired a programmer and leveraged his skillsets to compound that $45k multiples more. Saving only gets you to zero. Leveraging and upside is theoretically infinite.
This has become the popular talk track for podcasts and books - go find your passion, don’t work for someone else, college is a waste of time, etc… of course we all love the image of this and romanticize the idea. But the truth is 90% of all millionaires work for someone else, they are educated, they live below their means and leverage the power of compounding savings. Unfortunately the talk track of the day is contaminating kids minds with podcasters who drive rented Lamborghini’s, fake mansions, etc.. some people are cut out for being a entrepreneur but even those people have a long road - often paved by multiple failures and years of hard work. And their lives aren’t magical - they often have tons of pressure and aspects of their jobs that suck. Find a career that you can learn to enjoy and don’t expect everyday to be wonderful. It’s the truth of life.
Maybe it is part of every millionaires plan to contaminate as many minds as possible so that they can remain as millionaires and eventually become billionaires by forcing everyone to be dependent on them from misleading information? Therefore they can never really be educated by going to college, working for someone else, and finding their passion along the way?
I think they call that ...The Trap of Materialism!!! and living off of the passive income is called the 4% rule....living off of your investments. This is good : )
I tried to do what I loved to earn money and couldn’t find enough work to provide my basic needs. Not everyone can. We need to automate the shitty work, tax and and share it
This hits hard. Naval conversations are real gems. They get better and hits harder every time as you grow and listen the same thing again.

Yeah, not being a car guy turns out to be a sneaky way to build wealth. My 1997 Mazda is in the third stall of my garage.
The problem with selling or renting out your time, is that it is a finite asset, and you don't know how much of it you really have left to sell.

What you really want is freedom. 💯

"I wish I had spent more time at the office", is something you never see carved on a tombstone.
Slow clap for the person that decides to carve that on their tombstone... they have one helluva personality!
