Hello, that's not a Russian sound it's a very Kazakh sound. The instrument is a historic Kazakh folk instrument called a Kobyz with a very rich 5,000 year history. Dimash incorporates Kazakh folk instruments into many of his songs. Igor is not his producer, Dimash is his own producer. Igor is a composer that Dimash works with occasionally but mainly Dimash works alone, sometimes with his friends in the music industry in Kazakhstan and around the world. Dimash is very much his own boss and has his own creative centre, studios and his University office where he is at present working on his PhD in Musicology.

"Stranger" évoque le nouveau voyage qu'est la naissance, si l'on considère bien sûr l'âme comme s'incarnant. Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre.

Basically, whenever you see Igor Krutoy at the piano performing with Dimash, it means that he’s the composer of the songs he sings. It was Dimash’s idea to incorporate the beautiful and haunting sound of the Qobyz, the traditional Kazakh string instrument: what a brilliant addition to the composition! It gives much more depth to the meaning of the song I think. Also, listening to Stranger is in and of itself a musical journey where we’re accompanying Dimash through this “stranger’s land” with each and every vocal technique and singing style which denotes a different culture and path in life. And of course the brilliant and preeminent player of the ancient Kazakh instrument; the Kobyz. But I don't think there were any 'faeries' involved ! 😅 Just great genetics and a lot of hard work. There is a clip somewhere, before 2017, where he sings with both his parents. His mother in particular has a beautiful, bright and clear soprana voice and her and Dimash have perfectly matching vibrato's. My theory is that he learned to tune his ear to perfect pitch whilst still in the womb! 😄👍

Bonjour, je vais vous expliquer tous les décors. Dimash ne laisse rien au hasard, il se mêle de tout et tout depuis le début a son sens. Au début on voit des gens avec des capes noires, style médiéval comme leurs vêtements. Il y a 9 femmes et 9 hommes tous avec des bougies allumées. Au bout de chacun d'eux se trouve Dimash et si vous regardez attentivement, vous voyez une grande lumière ronde et un autre petit flash de lumière. Les paroles comme vous le dites sont "étranger au pays des étrangers". Il veut recommencer mais il dit aussi que cet endroit lui est familier comme s'il y était déjà allé mais c'est censé être la première fois. Hello, that's not a Russian sound it's a very Kazakh sound. The instrument is a historic Kazakh folk instrument called a Kobyz with a very rich 5,000 year history. Dimash incorporates Kazakh folk instruments into many of his songs. Igor is not his producer, Dimash is his own producer. Igor is a composer that Dimash works with occasionally but mainly Dimash works alone, sometimes with his friends in the music industry in Kazakhstan and around the world. Dimash is very much his own boss and has his own creative centre, studios and his University office where he is at present working on his PhD in Musicology.

👍 Merci pour votre appréciation. Vous avez déjà observé que Dimash est une personne spirituelle et cultivée. Sachez qu'il aime particulièrement la poésie et la symbolique. Ainsi cette chanson est le 1er volet d'un tryptique (sur la vie humaine) composé de : "Stanger", suivi de "Fly away" et enfin "Ave Maria". "Stranger" évoque le nouveau voyage qu'est la naissance, si l'on considère bien sûr l'âme comme s'incarnant. Vous pouvez avec cette lecture voir les innombrables symboles qui émaillent cette performance : éléments du décor (par exemple l'empreinte digitale sur le décor du fond....) le choeur composé de 9 moines hommes et 9 moines femmes...Les bougies tenues par les moines, d'abord allumées puis éteintes.... la gestuelle de Dimash... les paroles qui parlent d'un retour, qui nécessite du courage, de la force .... The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre.

Thank you so much for reacting to Stranger, yet another masterpiece composed by Igor for Dimash! Basically, whenever you see Igor Krutoy at the piano performing with Dimash, it means that he’s the composer of the songs he sings.
It was Dimash’s idea to incorporate the beautiful and haunting sound of the Qobyz, the traditional Kazakh string instrument: what a brilliant addition to the composition! It gives much more depth to the meaning of the song I think.
Also, listening to Stranger is in and of itself a musical journey where we’re accompanying Dimash through this “stranger’s land” with each and every vocal technique and singing style which denotes a different culture and path in life. Dimash is such an amazing storyteller and performer! And of course, he’s an insanely masterful and talented vocalist! Merci!

Petite correction, Igor n'est pas son producteur mais un très grand compositeur, il a travaillé entre autre avec Lara Fabian et bien d'autres artistes très connu et lorsqu'il a entendu Dimash chanté pour la première fois, il est tombé amoureux de son talent. C'est du vrai bombons pour un compositeur de tomber sur un tel artiste, Igor peut se laisser aller à toutes les fantaisies qu'il veut, sur une gamme vocale qui fait son piano au complet et même plus. Il sait que Dimash vas livrer la marchandise. Il n'a pas hésité un instant à sortir de sa retraite pour avoir le privilège de travaillé avec lui. Dimash, dans sa grande humilité, dit que c'est lui qui à le privilège de travailler avec Igor. Deux grands artistes qui accomplissent de vrais chefs-d’œuvre ensemble. And of course the brilliant and preeminent player of the ancient Kazakh instrument; the Kobyz. But I don't think there were any 'faeries' involved ! 😅 Just great genetics and a lot of hard work. There is a clip somewhere, before 2017, where he sings with both his parents. His mother in particular has a beautiful, bright and clear soprana voice and her and Dimash have perfectly matching vibrato's. My theory is that he learned to tune his ear to perfect pitch whilst still in the womb! 😄👍

Bonjour, je vais vous expliquer tous les décors. Dimash ne laisse rien au hasard, il se mêle de tout et tout depuis le début a son sens.
Au début on voit des gens avec des capes noires, style médiéval comme leurs vêtements. Il y a 9 femmes et 9 hommes tous avec des bougies allumées. Au bout de chacun d'eux se trouve Dimash et si vous regardez attentivement, vous voyez une grande lumière ronde et un autre petit flash de lumière. Les paroles comme vous le dites sont "étranger au pays des étrangers". Il veut recommencer mais il dit aussi que cet endroit lui est familier comme s'il y était déjà allé mais c'est censé être la première fois. Quand elle chante après le refrain et fait ces notes, la première plus grave et la seconde plus aiguë qui ressemble à un bébé qui pleure... Puis elle fait ces deux notes aiguës très hautes et à ce moment-là, celles avec les bougies posées tous dehors.
Explication : les 9 hommes et les 9 femmes représentent les 9 mois de grossesse, que ce soit un garçon ou une fille, les bougies sont les "naissances". La grande sphère finale représente l'utérus d'une femme enceinte et le petit flash de lumière est l'embryon... Quand il fait ces notes aiguës comme s'ils pleuraient un bébé, ils éteignent les bougies parce que la "livraison" ou la livraison a déjà a eu lieu, déjà l'enfant est né et si nous revenons aux mots de je sens que je connais cet endroit qui a été avant...
Signification : RÉINCARNATION. Dans une autre vie il s'est réincarné et y a vécu, je pense à l'époque médiévale et c'est pour cela qu'il a le sentiment de connaître l'endroit. Sachant déjà cela, vous pouvez le revoir et tout vous conviendra.
