I'm glad to see you are still OK, I worry whenever I hear of an attack near Sumy. Those barrels should be good chrome molybdenum steel (4140 steel or similar) and would be good for knives! Great use of discarded war materials! All the best from Australia.

I have always been interested in anything made from metal. The tanto is my personal favorite knife/short-bladed weapon. I have a question or two. How much mass do you lose from the scale that pops off? and what is the starting weight verse the final weight of the blade. You made 2 of those, what type of handle did you use and sheaf did you use for the final product?

Damn right. I would happily buy one as it is. I could put a handle on it easily enough, maybe a guard as one seems necessary for a knife of this kind.
Definitely a good use for decommissioned barrels that where near the end of there life if not getting remelted and poured again

The armour is rolled homogeneous and over-all quite poor but this barrel is likely from a bmp-2 30mm, And sub par.
