I took it as people who don’t obey laws or rules. If they are outside shooting guns in an area it’s illegal, they obviously aren’t going to honor a road closed sign. That’s why Conan didn’t laugh. I don’t believe it was meant like some here think.
It’s an average day on the south side of chicago in my experience living down there. The cops telling him they don’t engage is even more telling. But honestly, you can be a victim of a crime of any magnitude quite easy in that city
I started watching Justified way back when it was airing, but never had time to finish when I left for college. I'm in the middle of it now, and had no idea it was coming back. It's such a great show.
I had never seen it before a few months ago and have started watching it. I'm halfway through season 3 on FX and it's an awesome show; can't believe I didn't know about it before now. The only think I don't like is having to sit through the endless and stupid commercials on FX every few minutes but it's worth it to see the show. Loved Timothy in Deadwood, but this character is even better in Justified and he's an amazing actor, one who I would love to sit with in a bar to hear all of his stories. Super high hopes for the new show!
I love how comfortable Tim is with himself. He's able to say he's a terrible person but joking about it and doesn't care if people snip his clips to make him look bad because he knows everyone will back him up because he's genuinely a good person. I love his sense of humor
Timothy's story telling is like a kid with tons of sound effect, with Conan's undeterred face staring at Tim is hilarious, love their relationship lmao

I love the little "they love me in there" line Olyphant drops about the writer's room, so very dry. There has never been a single actor "loved" when they walk into a writer's room, Olyphant knows this, and his delivery is perfection.
I am not sure if these are read by the Coco team but I think your podcasts are great because they allow for longer format interviews with guests. I am showing my age but they are much closer to the way TV interviews used to be in the 70s and 80s.

A little nervous about Justified coming back, to me it's a top 10 show all time without a single episode under a 8/10. I hope they can make lightning strike twice.

We get more "Justified?!" Cool. Loved that show. Loved his Raylan Givens. Loved watching him take out the trash. Loved the guest stars...emmy winner Margo Martindale, the best. Loved Patton Oswalt's Officer Bob, was so scared he was going to get killed. Was so scared it would not end well for Raylan since they always stressed that sad low-country ballad, "you'll never leave Harlan alive." But they had it both ways. For a horrible long minute we think he's been killed and then, a miracle, thanks to that iconic cowboy hat. What a great finale that was. No one we cared about died. Very satisfying conclusion.
The cop had a bullet hole through his shirt, because, as the Bangerz drove by, they noticed a police officer, and made sure to shoot a few rounds his way before carrying on with their criminal business. Also, you can have a vest on, but the bullet can still go through your armpit area toward your heart, and or just blow up your arm itself.
Not gonna lie, Justified will never be the same. Every time I watch an episode and there are gun shots I'm gonna be like why isn't Raylan throwing a girl and taking cover to save himself.
Back in the late 80's my dad and I were in the West Indianapolis Cub Foods parking lot, near the entrance, when we heard popping sounds from the far end of the lot, ruining the sunny summer afternoon. We'd just gotten out of the car and I had rounded the hood He had grabbed a cart when the noise reached us. Both of us had the same reaction of crouching as we turned to look. I looked downhill a good 80 yards away and first assessed that the direction of gunfire wasn't our way. Good. I saw an older model blue Dodge sedan just as the rear window took a bullet but didn't shatter. The car almost two yards behind it was a newer, more rounded coupe that was either black or dark grey with the driver's door open and a guy behind it firing wildly. The front car's gun was more spaced apart and heavy. Then my dad shouldered up beside me at the car and said "These idiots!" He was not talking about the shooters. I looked behind me and saw a bunch of people gawking. In fact only a quarter of those around us had taken cover. Worse, most of them were gawking like it was on TV! Nobody got hit and the cars sped off.
I was visiting Seattle many many years ago near Pikes Place, when someone started shooting. Not being American, I thought it was fire crackers, and the teenager who ran past me had set them off. It didn’t occur to me it was gun shots. My Buddy was ex army he hit the ground. My other buddy was like me no idea it was gun shots. I didn’t realize it was a gun shot until I saw the gun. They ran off down the street , I went into the first bar and had a beer. Then we had some more. The bar tender thought it was a probably a drug deal gone wrong. Which according to him happened quite regularly. Nobody was shooting at me, but the guy was getting shot at ran right past me. I just stood there without any idea what was happening. Not frozen just clueless. The weirdest thing to me, both appeared to be young teenagers.
They filmed this all in my neighborhood. They set up at my old high school and I got to peak in and see Mr Timmy Olyphant rehearsing lines in his trailer…don’t tell him

Wouldn’t a reboot mean you’re restarting the series and retconning everything? Because that’s what a reboot is. This seems more like an off shoot or a spin off or you know, a different show.
Haven't spent leisure time outside in more than 6 years... I'm scared of my own city. 😞 the parks, hell no, the lakefront, hell no, downtown uhhh no thanks... it's just all bad here 😢😭😢😭 can't even enjoy a good ole cruise on LSD because it's just not safe 😪
It used to be in just a cpl bad neighborhoods and Chicago was such a fun city growing up. Nowadays I won’t even go anywhere in the city.. it’s sad what it has become

Chicago really suffers from the importing of firearms from Indiana. Gary, IN itself is even worse and has one of the highest gun homicide rates in the US. Not much cops can do in one state when other states refuse to help keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

One of the few shows where I felt it was a very satisfying ending. But I'm happy for more.

Chicago really suffers from the importing of firearms from Indiana. Gary, IN itself is even worse and has one of the highest gun homicide rates in the US. Not much cops can do in one state when other states refuse to help keep guns out of the hands of criminals.
