      @InfiniteDarkMass No, I understand it is a remake not a remaster because it does more than update visuals, it also adds a voice to Isaac, a really fitting one too, and I'm happy they did justice to the original. But I wish it wasn't 60$ because I don't feel it's worth that, I feel its worth like 30$ because it is a remake, majority of it is still the same sections as the original game from 2008. I shouldn't have to pay 60$ to add a voice to Isaac, make him and Nicole look different, change the way characters act, and update visuals. Its all really good good stuff and a big suprise (for me at least) that they pulled it off and made a solid remake of a solid classic, I feel it should cost 60$ if it comes with the remake and original. I have the original I'm just waiting for a sale to buy the remake (and waiting on a sale for Atomic Heart).

      ​@WDYW I think you're confusing it with a "Remaster" which is usually a poorly done texture swap like we got with Bioshock, which breaks the game more than it improves. I have no complaints paying full price for a remake as polished as this one, with so many visual and technical improvements.
      Though I'm not so sure about the story changes, but I haven't fully experienced those yet. I am definitely against artistic changes, though, like turning the cutesy "carrot on a stick" love interest into a grandma, or changing Isaac's iconic "one step from madness" face to look more like the voice actor. I know what Isaac looks like. Why should I care what the voice actor looks like? I bet it's all done just to make the face capture easier.
      Anyway, I wish Bioshock could get a proper remake like this, with faithfully updated visuals and tech, without ruining the atmosphere or some of the more interesting enemy behaviour. That could even improved, I think.

      Dude Isaac is aprox 35 years old and his wife is prob 37-43 years old. Hes a highly experienced Engineer with quite a few off-world assignments under his belt. based on what we know about planet cracking from the documents each planet crack is a 3-5 year process plus he had to go to college as an undergrad, then grad school etc.

    Motive clearly has some ridiculously talented technical wizards. DICE constantly fails to release properly working games with their own Frostbite engine, and many other EA studios seem to struggle with it as well; meanwhile, Motive managed to make a polished Star Wars flight sim, and now they have a 3rd person horror game with a seamless world. I'm impressed.

      Honestly, I tried DS after a release and it runs as a crap. Even hated Darktide runs much much smoother

      Haha, considering I still play on a 360 I'm probably not the audience for this. But if it gets it to modern audiences, not necessarily a bad thing.
      As a Transformers fan who watched fantastic.games fade into the abyss, I'd love it if they remade War for Cybertron or did a Transformers Devastation 2.

      ​@BatboyThe lore of DS3 is great, considering the early discovery of the Tau Volantis civilization and the influence of the Marker. The game is a potpourri of mixed and unfinished ideas with a great background.
      But I agree that the storytelling was a complete mess, with that stupid love triangle, the cannon fodder NPCs. Danik was an underwhelming villain and Awakened wrapped things up in a shitty way.
      I'd love if Motive reworked the game in better ways without rebooting the entire plot.

      I completed it yesterday on Hard difficulty and I still got scared in a couple of tricky spots.
      The game is extremely balanced and it's delightful to play given all the weapon combinations and abilities.

      Not pointless at all. It's giving life back to Dead Space and introducing it to new audiences. It may even bring on a new series that will have more games than the original.

      @King Dring there was one time before the patch that I loaded in and the camera was locked on to the save station. So I had to reload it to get the camera to actually be behind issac

    The original Dead Space did have lockers and containers that mysteriously unlocked later in the game but this was never explained in the story and was obviously done by the devs to spread the loot out for when you had to backtrack. It is a nice touch to add a security clearance system to explain it though.

      I honestly don't see this as enough of a change from the original game to justify calling it a remake, if you played the og dead space then you're not missing anything here.

      @RyuketsuGaming Yes they did. Other than the master clearance, you’ll usually come back to the area later with higher clearance.

    the flamethrower is actually so good in the remake - the alt fire can basically 1 shot everything when paired with force gun and/or statis, including the tentacle wall guys

      I was looking for this! I remembered how bad it was in the original so I wanted to see how it was here. I ended up using it as one of my primary weapons. Honestly it felt a bit cheap at times with how it would stagger enemies so you'd be safe if you just sprayed fire from a corner. I used it so often I almost died on the second Big Boy battle because I forgot I was in vacuum and couldn't clear off the growth on the ADS cannon with it.
      Alt fire was very good for hallways, or "locking down" a side for enemies to attack you if you have to balance them coming from multiple places at once.

      The flamethrower is great. The only weapon I’m “meh” on is the pulse rifle. The contact beam does the same job and does it better.

      The flamethrower synergizes so well with every other gun. You set a mob ablaze to stun them and cause damage over time, then switch to a precision weapon to cut them apart. If you watch closely you can see the flesh burn away from enemies. Flesh is what soaks up damage from cutters and the like. The flame thrower is an excellent crowd control weapon and is very ammo efficient, especially upgraded. Can also nearly one shot a guardian if you hit the cluster of intestines. Best gun in the game IMO

      The primary reason I had the flamethrower equipped was because it melted the Wall Guardians. I only need to throw a fire wall at it, and it dies instantly. That and the Swarmers but I actually didn't encounter them that often.

    Damn I seriously thought Callisto Protocol was gonna come out on top in the space horror game coalition, but it turns out it was Dead Space all along. Happy that the remake is surpassing expectations and hope to see more in the future.

      @Jay Sherman As much as people hate the idea of limiting someone's creative vision, we absolutely need publishers to step in sometimes and wrangle things back in 1) so we actually can get a game instead of something being stuck in Development Hell and 2) because sometimes we need an outsider to go "No that's not gonna work, cut it so we can improve the other things."
      Obviously too much corporate meddling isn't good either, but total freedom can also mean total freedom to fuck things up.

      Personal theory. Sometimes the restrictions put on by a publisher can be a good thing. It holds back some of the nonsensical elements of a directors vision. An example is Star Wars. The original trilogy is hailed as being the greatest trilogy of all time. We had a lot of people telling George Lucas, "George, that idea sucks. We are going to do this."
      Not compare that to Star Wars prequels where everyone let George Lucas do whatever he wanted. It was a mess. Perhaps it is the same thing when it comes to developing video games.

      @Paper Clip Yeah, totally agree with that. The original Isaac's face fit the role perfectly. He looked like he was a push away from madness even before he got to Ishimura. Changing Nicole's face made even less sense, with how little her character appeared, and even when she did, her role was basically being a love interest bait and a reason for Isaac for going through all this shit. Which doesn't work as well when you turn her into a grandma.
      I bet they mostly did it to make face capture easier, and now people are making elaborate excuses for them.

    I'm sure it's already been said, but the same actor has always done Isaac's voice. He did all the pain/melee sounds in Dead Space, his role was just greatly expanded in Dead Space 2.

      Issac Clark's voice was done by Max Shippee in the original (that's why Issac looks like him in the original series).

      He actually didn’t do any voice work for the original Dead Space. He even said in an interview that Dead Space 2 was his first audition for anything Dead Space. They just reused grunts and such in later games so I think that’s where the rumor came from.

    From what I’ve seen. The fleshy system isn’t just visual. It’s enemy health. Most enemies won’t sever until most of the fleshy bits have been removed. Which ends up being something the flame thrower is kinda okay for. Stripping the flesh with fire before switching to a workhorse that can actually sever limbs.

      Honestly the flamethrower is just a great weapon. Only weapon in the game that can kill 4 enemies at once if they're all standing in a straightish line.

      I’ve found the flamethrower is great for weakening most enemies while I retreat. And for taking out the Lurkers while I focus on other enemies

      I mean, you could probably just put higher quality textures and sounds on the original Dead Space (maybe also improve a couple of mechanics and features) and I think no one would really complain. The original game still holds really well, even if it is pretty buggy on consoles.

    I like how in the beginning they basically just confirmed that you don’t kill the necromorphs but rather just disable them, I remember that in the original the devs couldn’t keep already dead bodies in previous locations for stability reasons. But instead they said that it was part of the lore

    having played all the original dead space games I was going to give this one a hard pass, but after seeing this I might actually give it a go because it seems to be a really well made remake, and having the same voice actor for Issac is a huge plus for me 😅

    The graphics are so funny, as you mentioned the game looks exactly the same as it used to in my brain.
    Really goes to show how well done the original artstyle was

    So, from what I've seen, the difficulty with putting enemies down is due to the new flesh system they implemented, where you have to strip the flesh before you can sever the bone itself, along with higher difficulties making this body harder to break down

      Plasma cutter also got nerfed, it’s not the best weapon anymore. I’m glad all the weapons feel “mediocre”, that means there’s balance and a need to switch weapons all the time

      You do have to be much more accurate and can’t just shoot any part of the limbs to break them. If you hit all your shots on hard in the beginning you are 3-4 shots to cut a limb. If you shoot up and down the arm and don’t land shots in the same parts it can be upward of 6-10 shots. I’m only just now getting to chapter 3 but this game really has me on edge at all times, even the jump scares that carried over from the original still spooked me

    Not gonna lie, i liked the silent protagonist vibes of the original as it made it feel like we were the character and that we were Isaac instead of him having a voice and emotions. At the same time, him talking now adds a new form of depth missing in the first game so its kind of a win in either direction

    I think the idea of having to sacrifice ammo for having multiple tools and a larger arsenal is interesting. Means you have to decide between being equipped for everything with little ammo or one or two options but having more ammo

      Nah I feel like it got the resident evil 2002 remake treatment, same laylout but with extra rooms and paths, new voice acting and slightly different enemies like the phantom necromorphs which are like the crimson heads

    The reason you get better frames in higher resolution is because you're likely CPU-bound at lower resolutions. Meeting a threshold to trigger GPU usage over CPU can sometimes give you some dramatic performance gains because it isn't relying on the CPU anymore, which is really not designed to handle processing graphics.

      Just because something is "ultrawide" does not mean its a higher res. Take God of war for example. That being said where is the option for ultrawide for this game. Or does it require 21:9 monitor? I think he was mistaken. Might have been ultrawide, but fewer pixels. His ultra wide was prolly 3440x1440. And 4k 16:9 is 3820x2160. Being cpu bound only means you do not lose much performance when increasing graphic faditly. But you never gain any.

    One thing I’m loving so far is new game plus throwing different enemy types at you in the beginning/ throughout the game. Really surprised the shit outa me when I was going back to the killien and 5 slasher came at me through the first hallway in the game you run through. As well as harder nightmare necromorphs up front.

    Original DS my loadout every playthrough was Plasma Cutter - Pulse Rifle - Force Gun and Contact Beam ( only to sell ammo ) . Glad my favourites still rock in remake. Well covered review mate , answered all my questions, thanks.

    just a perfect remake, i still cant get over how well its been done. My only complaint is I had this issue where if i streamed the game on discord it would randomly send me to a permanent load screen resulting in me having to reboot the game, though having the game on ssd and the game instantly putting u back into the action literally seconds after the 2 second intro logos is amazing.

    I've never heard of this Motive Studio before but they seem to have some serious skills. I mean this is up there with something like RE2 when it comes to remakes. I hope they remake DS2 too. Though honestly I'm excited to see whatever these guys do next.

    The fact that I had a hard time differentiating between the OG game and the remake is a testament to how well it's aged. That being said, I'm excited to try out the new content and tweaks they've done to the game on top of the graphical refresh.

    the two enemies you didnt like (wall guys and tiny guys) are both destroyed by the flame thrower no problem. I love that thing, mainly for the wall of flames. it does such a good job at crowd control

    Absolutely loved this remake, the only issue I ran into was one of the rooms I need to go through to get to my next objective didn't load so I had to quit and reload, but that only happened once out of my 12 hour run of the game.

    The Flamethrower bomb wall one-shots guardians and holds just about everything in the game at bay save brutes and dividers. Gives you some breathing room to reload, heal, take some pock-shots etc. I found it pretty useful. Also channeling Alien 2 in a sci-fi horror game, like, c’mon. Flamethrower good.

    I’ve seen such wildly different takes on some of the games weapons. For me, I’m playing the game on normal and the flamethrowers flame wall has seemed impassable to basically all but the strongest necromorphs in the game. I throw that bad boy down in a hall, narrow passage, or right in front me in an open area and watch as almost everything that tries to pass through it burns to death.

      @Nicolás Riveros i dont think being from a preexisting IP is bad per se its just not making it Mario of horro games and Imo RE has manged very well after RE7 even if i think RE8 was a step down from 7 it still holds good quailitys so yes pre existing ip is not bad just make sure to write correctly

    It's funny because I always had the flamer equipped, because it was fantastic at killing the enemies you singled out as annoying. The guardians it hits all tentacles at once as they emerge, basically instant kill.

    The flamethrower alt-fire is perfect for those wall enemies that spawn the eyeball creatures. The wall of fire just roasts them with one shot.

      exactly. additionally its pretty good for slowing down multiple rushing necromoprhs since it can stagger multiple at a time very quickly, then swapping to a more precise weapon and finishing them off

    Love what they did with new content in this game. All of it serves to give additional background and context to the main story, giving Nicole and Isaac a more fleshed our history and background. Explaining the origins of The Hunter and Dr. Mercer being a truly frightening figure.

    I played on hard with all the guns on my inventory, it makes it really fun to have to adapt to whatever ammo you have to spare.

    The flamethrower is actually really useful
    It’s great for stopping enemies in Place and weaken their limbs, Which on hard mode is a god send.
    also the wall guys are much easier with the flame thrower cause you can hit all the tendrils.
    Nor S tier but for sure better than before.

    You seemed to have a few different experiences than me with weapons. Never had flamethrower or line gun equipped and still got ammo drops for them all the time. Also when I upgraded primary damage for contact beam it wrecked anything that got in my line of sight.

    Honestly, to me it's weird that Isaac doesn't speak just a little bit to himself being in the worst possible case scenario. Even REmake2 Leon and Claire spoke by being weirded by Zombies at the beginning, because that's natural. Seeing dead corpses alive and other monsters is terrifying, and obviously weird as fuck. And when it comes to Necromorphs, those are even worse, being the worst case scenario you can ever face.
    Yes, i hate it when characters give obvious hints or just speak about something unrelated like freaking hand holding my ass. I will never support that kind of thing. I couldn't play Ragnarok because of it.
    But at least he can mutter something at the very beginning of the game apart from "Christ". You know, like being weirded out, and what the hell are those things, and being a bit scared until he adapts like again Leon and Claire in REmake2. They stop speaking pretty fast at the beginnign section until Mr.X shows up again, then they do a one liner and move on.
    At first i didn't have big expectations from the Studio where almost all their games flopped out, or i thought they are doing 1:1 because the original game is so good. But they really outdone themselves. First, because they had a superb foundation, secondly, because the horrible sections were removed and the ship is now interconnected properly and open and they didn't touch upon anything that wasn't broken, just expanded it. And that's how you make a good game. Replace, don't remove the bad parts, and do something fans will appreciate.
    You can say no game is perfect, but 10 out of 10 scores exists, and if i had to rate this one, it would be simply 10. I would rather argue that 1 out of 10 does not exist unless the game is literally unplayable.
    REmake4 does look a little more ambitious, and no doubt that game might be GOTY just from the previews. Or even more, the best shit ever made considering RE4 is a fan favorite classic with some odd sections here and there (Island, but it's getting a revamp, fucking finally and no QTEs), and despite the people who claim it's not Resident Evil because there are no "Zombies" when Resident Evil was never about Zombies since the name is Biohazard. We got to a really good start this year. Dead Space Remake, Hi-Fi Rush, Turbo Overkill Endless Mode (With a lot of new things added, graphically but tweaks too, because the developer LISTENS to feedback and even included everything i asked from him to be added in the game. I wanted Anti-Aliasing and permanent perspective of the vehicles, and the mad lad responded to me and said, sure, i will add them next patch, and so we got it).
    Also funny that you mentioned System Shock, because Dead Space was suppose to be System Shock 3, but not with the gameplay of the originals.

    This looks like a brilliant upgrade from the first game and I will play it for sure. However, I played through DS2 a few months ago on the PS3 and honestly graphically it does not look like much of an upgrade from that. Sure lighting and effects work are significantly improved however I feel this is a good example of how little the graphical difference is between the PS4 and PS5 compared to older generations of consoles Makes me wonder if it was originally developed for the previous generation of consoles.

    Nicole is voiced by the same person who voiced her in dead space 2 after she was recast from dead space 1 (2008) so both Isaac and Nicole are voiced and Modeled after the "original" actors

    My 2 favorite cherry on top details in the graphics for this game. Sparks from burnt out lights will bounce off your armor. And that Isaac yells "FUCK" when he's out of ammo. I love this remake

    The flamethrower is much improved, you just gotta know how to use it, specifically the altfire. Still a niche and utility-driven weapon, though, and not meant to kill them as much as aid in killing. Roast enemies, then use something else on them alongside it, same goes for the alt-fire, and vice-versa. That and it's very effective against the swarmers and the Guardians.

    Regarding the fps increase when switching to wide res: i think because how the game is processing fov, you got an fps increase. For instance, probably becausebits on higher fov, it doesnt need to load in high model/texture the "close stuff" that is to you compared to a lesserr where stuff is more closer to you and needs to be rendered properly. Similliar thing is present in the new serious sam games. Higher fov= higher fps because less detailed stuff to render. Thats at least what i think.

    One of my favorite things about the remake is how it actually manages to feel like a new game. I replay the original Dead Space and Dead Space 2 at least once a year, around October. I've been doing that for years. Despite having replayed them not too long ago, firing this up and playing it really did feel like a fresh and brand new experience. It really is not just a facelift, it manages to feel like an entirely different game. There's a lot that you will remember, and there's also just enough that is different or new that makes it distinct.
    I think one of the funniest things was when you back track through the Hangar to get to Engineering. I was fully expecting to head in there and get the Peng statue, but the statue wasn't there, just a text log that basically said "Hahah, it's not here. Look somewhere else." The developers clearly knew that this was a game people had replayed on numerous occasions, and they also knew exactly what to change or make different from the original to keep it fresh. I've replayed the original enough times to know where every playing-dead necromorph is, what to expect in every area, etc. They've changed _just_ enough of these to make them feel very new and different.
    In the original game, Isaac's grunts and breathing would become more desperate depending on how much health you have. There is a very nice touch in the remake where Isaac's voice lines are also delivered with more desperation/pain depending on your health. I ended up on one sliver of health and Isaac was holding an entire conversation like he was in desperate need of a morphine shot. There's lots of cool little details like this in the game, and it's all these little details adding up that make it so good.
    This is really what the Callisto Protocol should have been. It's amazing how much it got wrong.

    I do think that the purpose of the flamethrower is cause of the way damaging is done
    They made the necromorphs (as you mentioned) go from clothes to the home in showing the damage being inflicted
    The flamethrower likely serves to remove those first two layers effortlessly (Clothes and Skin burn easily after all) letting you (probably) one shot the limbs with another weapon and save ammo

    I think that the flamethrower is more to soften them up then outright defeat. You toast a few, use a different weapon on a different group, and when you turn back to the previous set, they’re as fortified as a marshmallow peep. I mean, your footage showed the crispy ones being taken out by like 3 shots of a full auto weapon, you’ll have ammo for days!

      Well maybe he didn't upgrade it enough witch if get at a later point in the game it's obvious that it would suck . Haven't personally used a lot the flamethrower in DS 1 but in d 2 it was a main weapon for on of my playthroughs on hard and it kicks ass, only switched to a cutter when I had to do ranged combat

      my flamethrower strategy: Stasis > alt-fire > swap to pulse (or contact beam). Also used them to take out the guys stuck on walls because alt-fire insta gibbed them.

      I used it throughout the entire game. I never did in the original, maybe bought it once or twice, but I wanted a crowd control weapon early and I had it, so may as well use it. It's fucking awesome, and destroys everything when upgraded a bit. It kills Guardian necromorphs, the ones cacooned to walls, in like 3 seconds, no exaggeration.

    I like the system where you only get ammo for weapons you're carrying. It forces you to find a balance between versatility through a large arsenal, and having enough ammo and inventory space to feed your arsenal. I always go Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, Force Gun, and no fourth weapon. Handles every possible situation but doesn't cause you to have to weapon swap when you wouldn't want to.

    I kinda miss the jutteriness and quirks of the necromorph's movements, those snappy movements and turns. They seem so much more fluid now. Makes me wonder if the remake dev's saw it as a limitation at the time or if they removed it for other purposes.

    I just figured out how to properly use the line gun. Put the alt fire on an object, take that object along until you meet a few necromorphs, and introduce them to what the altfire can do when pointed at them on the container you're holding :D

    9:00 The remake's new mechanic of choice between life support and lights and such is probably inspired by Alien: Isolation. That game had a power grid in some areas that allowed you to allocate points of limited electricity to enable or disable certain features of the area, from turning off the lights or turning on fog vents to reduce everyone's visibility, therefore leveling the playing field between you and the enemy, as well as other features like locking/unlocking vents which trades off being able to hide yourself in them for locking the alien out of them, and general electricity usage in the room which may remove environmental hazards like electrified water or electronically locked doors.
    Always a good horror game when you have to make the choice between doing something that might help you OR end up helping the enemy at any moment, further heightening tension and scare factor. Such a thing can't be done with just jumpscares which horror games really need to fucking learn nowadays. Use slow terror mostly, not *just* jumpscares.

      @NotPork Isolation's director only handled the Xenomorph. Not only that, but it was directly inspired by L4D's Director, which handled multiple enemy spawns and environmental factors such as item spawns, shortcuts being present, etc. Hence, this is why I said it's more reminiscent of L4D's Director. The Necromorphs aren't learning your playstyle or adapting to your movement, nor do they hunt you.
      I would not go so far as to say something like "clearly inspired by isolation" when Isolation itself was inspired by another game.

    i used the flamethrower a lot in the remake, and i feel like it's stronger than the original. That alt fire in particular is SO good against clumps of enemies, just set the wall of flame and chill. It doesn't have burst damage but if you have space to move around it ain't that bad, and it's useful against the tiny swarmer enemies and divider body parts. I love the force gun but it feels too strong lol, it deals knockback AND deals a lot of damage to most targets, allowing you to pretty much completely trivialize the games difficulty in several sections. A lot of weapons feel OP in the remake, especially with the special upgrades for them giving them almost DS3 levels of OPness. I mean damn man, the plasma cutter can have over 21 bullets in it in 1 magazine, AND each shot on top of dealing burst damage deals a DOT when it's fully upgraded AND makes your melee more useful? The game begs for another harder difficulty mode but the most you get is hard, and impossible is the same as hard mode but you can only save once which is awful. Not a fan of how they rebalanced enemies too, like the leaper seems to be a lot slower than the original, and the twitchers have stasis in their chest you can use to get free stasis shots on them.........even tho you can already use your own stasis, and that's assuming there's no stasis barrel nearby to throw at them.
    The way they handled the final boss in particular really blows my mind, in the OG, the bosses attacks were to slow they don't keep up with you at all. You don't even need to run to avoid the attacks and they make no effort to have the tentacles lead their attacks, but w.e it's a 2008 game, shit happens right? In the remake somehow they managed to give it the exact same weakness despite having enemies everywhere else in the game lead their shots and track the player more accurately. The final boss is borderline brain dead to kill even in this game :l

    Just got done playing the first 4 chapters of the game. I couldn’t be happier with what motive has done to this game. The only problem I experienced was in the morgue right as I was opening the door to retrieve the captains rig. It kept freezing on me right before the cutscene. Had to restart the game to fix the issue but other than that I’ve had no problems running it on maxed graphics. Well worth the money in my opinion.

    I love Callisto Protocol as I expressed when I covered it, and Im pretty damn sure I will love this remake as I loved the original back in 2008. Good video though and keep the high quality content dropping as s always

    The reason they made Nicole look older is because she's a Medical Officer, and not a low-ranking one at that. She's a scientists, a psychiatry and medical professional.
    Nicole from the original looked like she barely just made it out of the medical school. Some people might have a problem with that, but her new appearance lends much more levity to every scene she is. When the game tries to sell me on the idea that she's this med officer trying to make sense of what is going on through observation and research in her side quests, I can believe that. She looks old enough to be very capable of this stuff.

      She's also working on a mining vessel where extreme injuries are so common that they need to regularly grow body parts, add extreme stress from being hunted by monsters, dehydration, hunger and being unable to sleep and anyone would look older than their age

    Ok so nicole being that old makes it kinda weird because they met trough his mother at the church of uniology or whatever it was, so she basically hooked him up with an friend of her closer to her age lol

    As for the RNG ammo system that's tied to your current loadout, it works out well because in higher difficulties ammo becomes so tight, that you are forced to carefully manage your inventory, and this is where having multiple weapons also works: some ammo has a higher sell price. The plasma cutter ammo is cheap as hell, but the contact beam ammo is worth gold. You can carry the contact beam just so you can accumulate ammo for it and then sell it. This is how I managed to fully upgrade the main weapons and the suit. After all, the game is just not about picking up stuff, you also have to sell and buy to properly keep your inventory.

    My hope is the reasoning for changing the looks of isaac and nicole to look like the voice actors is for the mocap to do all the work, plus it would be easy to cast Gunner Wright as isaac in a future movie, which has already been teased.

      @Modern Games Suck I don't have disdain for "ecchi" lmfao My main genre is JPRGs dude. I know what ecchi is I've seen my fair share for better or worse.
      FF7R literally has a scene where you can pick a dress which shows her off practically in full without her being naked. The purple (or blue??) dress.
      You also didn't make an argument for why you dislike Tifa's design.
      You made one singular mention of Tifa.
      Quote "As we've seen with Tifa in FF7 remake and Kendra in this one, this extends beyond clothing and goes to actual body shape changes." and a vague point about changing something to be realistic.
      Everyone was changed to look more realistic in Remake. The original game, extended universe and movie are somewhat intended to be realistic.
      Her body shape is close to her Advent Children one, which itself had to be changed from the original concept art because they made the characters realistic. So is advent children woke?
      Tifa is as athletic as she's always looked.
      Unless you mean changing her body shape to be more human like as opposed to 70% leg from her concept art is somehow feminist?
      Just say what you mean dude. This vague non speak and inability to coherently explain what you mean is just weird.
      For the what feels like 10th time, what do you not like about Tifa's design and why is Tifa's design feminist to you?

    Hopefully the plan here is to do 2 and maybe 3 even though it isn't the best as is. Then maybe we can finally get a continuation of the series with it being handled by a studio that is much much more than capable based on this remake. I only played a few hours so far and I'm blown away by how close to the original it is while expanding in all the right areas and making the iconic dead space feel and combat even better. Excited for the future of the series and the studio as well

      The original didn't fail because of the studio, it failed because of EA fucking with the formula. You think those people wanted to make a co-op multiplayer cash shop shooter? Seriously?

    Honestly, the flamethrower is super underrated. Just for the heck of it, I dumped a bunch of nodes into it and put the 700 ammo I had for it into use. I can take down most necromorphs in 2 or 3 seconds now.

    The boost in frames will be because of the GPU having to work harder. Your GPU is so ridiculously good that nearly all CPU's bottleneck it massively. Upping graphical fidelity or resolution etc can actually improve performance because it utilises the GPU more :)

    The flamethrower worked well as a support weapon, burn them first to stop them in their tracks, weakening the limbs. Switch over to something else after. It also makes short work with the wall guardians and swarmers.

    Don't sleep on the flame thrower. It should be used primarily as a status effect weapon, which has high damage over time. I used it all game and it saved me in a lot of tight spots. Enemies take extra damage when you shoot them on fire. I'd combo tougher enemies or swarms, douse them in flame then use the proximity mine secondary on the rifle. I upgraded it to near max and it does tons of damage.

    I was unsure about this one with how Callisto Protocol was received.
    (I'll most likely pick that up on sale), but either way, I'm glad it turned out great and it looks like it's worth the price tag. Hell, even if you wait for this to drop in price as well, you're getting an excellent product.
    I know people will say it's a remake of a beloved game, of course it's good, but I gotta give credit where it's due. EA Motive did a fantastic job. Can't wait to play it soon.

    If the rooms don't have lights in them often it's because the in-game director. Most places in game can become pitch black if you do well enough.

    I've always just used at most 3 guns, the cutter, the pulse rifle and sometimes the line gun because of the ammo thing. I did the same thing in callisto protocol too, you only need the 2 guns you are given, if you get the rest, you have to manage 5 different types of ammo.
