Give Mewtwo the ability "Berserk Gene"- Basically anger shell with another name. Also a nice reference to the item from gen 2 that was phased out come gen 3.
@Draco456 But Imposter would just make Mew into another pokemon altogether and not Mew itself. What's the use of Mew's other move pool moves if it's just going to get replaced by imposter moves? Instead, I would give Mew it's own unique ability to put priority on Transform, and make it revert back if it takes enough damage. Or another thing I would do is make Mew's psychic bubble it bounces around on into an actual ability and make it function as a built in substitute that only activates if Mew is at full health. The barrier would protect it from all other moves except damaging ones. And the damage is negated on hitting the barrier, and instead.... It just breaks it like Mimikyu's disguise ability.
I think Mew is HEAVILY underpowered in the games! I mean, COME ON, it's the ancestor of all Pokémon and can learn EVERY SINGLE MOVE, including Transform (but without Ditto's limitations)! Synchronize just does not work for Mew! A much better ability would be Imposter.
Deoxys should be changed to a new ability. I would call it infection since deoxys is a virus that fell from space and got mutated. Basically it deals residual damage in proportion to the target's max HP (Probably like 10%) every turn after making contact so long as deoxys is on the field (contact can be made by either the opponent or deoxys) (Also, switching out doesn't reset the contact requirement being filled). Additionally, make it a nerfed effect spore too... So a 20% chance to either para, poison or sleep opponent when they make contact with you. But also when you make contact with them cuz I'm evil and want it to be that way😊
Static atmosphere seems like a cool variant to electric surge. Basically does the same thing but in the air instead lol.(Ive never made fan made Pokemon abilities before so don't hate me lol)
I've always wanted Dialga, Palkia, and Giritina to have abilities that set Trick Room, Gravity, and Inverse battles respectively! Then they'd be broken and help other pokemon too
If adding Inverse mechanics back in just for Giratina is to hard, would it be easier for Giratina's ability to just make it so nothing is super effective or resisted by anything (only immunities matter, so the normal+Fighting immunity helps but the Fairy immunity hurts)
@J B. I think the main issue with having Giratina set up an Inverse Battle is you make some of the most common attack types-water, fire, grass, and electric-do super effective damage to it. I suppose the trade-off of having super effective options against Normal, Dark, Steel and Fairy might be worth it, but three of those types share a weakness to Fighting anyways. I'd personally argue Giratina should have two abilities depending on which form it is. Something similar to Shadow Shield works for its Altered Form, since that IS its defensive form, but maybe make it where any first hit it takes in a battle is always Not Very Effective, regardless of if it got chipped by weather effects. For its Origin Forme, maybe it gets an ability that allows its Ghost moves to be super effective against Normal types? This plays on the idea that Giratina doesn't quite belong in our reality in this form and is defying the laws of reality by doing so.
@Mr.E D. I played both, also may or may not have min maxed the hell out of it. That being said, the same thing can be done with swampert in the original. There was luck involved, skarmory didn’t attack, let me stack power up punch and then I one shot everything with +6 attack mega aggron. +6 attack swampert would have done the same even without mega.
It's kind of flimsy, but there's a potential lore reason for this. On one of the computers in team galactic hq it says that capturing the legendaries in pokeballs actually restricts their powers somehow, which is why cyrus used the red chain to control them in the first place instead of just using the master ball.
That's because they're applying pressure to your opponents team! Just as a Burn heal Wailord would! Wailord = the true Pokémon deity! Wailord! applying pressures to opponents and Skitties since November 21, 2002!
Hilariously enough, at this point Mewtwo needs a bit of help (relative to the other big legends of course). It’s pretty mid in ubers and MASSIVELY outclassed in VGC. Sheer Force would work with the whole ruthless mentality thing, not even bothering with secondary effects, just big damage.
@Roadrunner basically, if it's a chance, then it's a secondary effect. If it's a lingering effect, like it's always active, then it's considered part of the move regardless. Anything guaranteed does not get boosted
@Roadrunner extra effect is something that is added on, like if it can be removed or increased in odds, that is considered an added effect. As it doesn't change how the move works. If it simply describes how the move is calculated, it's not an added effect. Freeze dry can do super effective against water, but it's not an added effect, it's how the move calculates it's damage. Seismic toss does damage based on level, it's not something that can turn off. Moves that have high critical hit ratio do not count as added effects as it's part of the calculation as well, so slash does not get sheer force boost.
I think Mewtwo would have an ability that nullifies all other pokemon's abilities. It canonically blocked the special abilities of the clone and regular pokemon in the 1st movie.
Regigias: replace Slow Start with Warm Up. Instead of cutting its attack and speed, it instead doubles its attack and speed for managing to burn 5 turns.
@Enzo Ponce I thought that too, first turn it has attack and speed like slow start and the next turns increase attack and speed until turn 5 its attack and speed is double
I once heard about making slow start 3 turns, but every turn increases regigigas power slowly, ramping up until it reaches it's full potential (and give him huge power afterwards bc i want to see the world burn)
Giratina could have an ability that inverts the type chart. Like that one battle gimmick they did for one trainer in XY, but Giratina activates it when he enters the field. Maybe Origin Forme only though... I'm not sure.
@lycanwarrior622 I had a similar idea but I think if they ever make a debut for a ghost terrain field, Giratina should get an ability that summons ghost terrain everytime he swaps into battle. As for the ghost terrain, I think it should have a 30% buff on ghost attacks (just like other terrains) and maybe it could also apply the curse effect to non ghost types as long as the terrain is active
I like this concept. My initial thought was to give is something like "Shadow Cover" which would remove whatever the current weather affect is and boost ghost moves for 5 turns or something along that line. Basically a ghost type weather effect. Maybe raises ghost type evasiveness, though that probably a bit OP
I want Dialga and Palkia to have an ability that sets up Trick Room when they switch in (since they were used as Trick Room setters in Sword/Shield VGC). And what happens if they switch in when Trick Room is already up? The twisted dimensions return to normal! 🙌
Okay, I’m liking these ideas for Palkia setting up Gravity and Giratina setting up inverse battle conditions (I’m not sure about Giratina having Gravity, but it does work to counter its Origin Form’s Levitate)
@Nightmare I’ve always thought inverse battles fit Zygaurde especially since it’s supposed to be able to keep ecosystems in check but it fails horribly (type wise) against Yveltal and Xerneus. Also, the place inverse battles were introduced in right next to the cave Zygaurde is found in.
I could definitely see the Creation Trio having some busted abilities if their Origin Forms or even another set of forms that are on the same level of Arceus. Dialga could have an ability similar to your idea but after every turn, a second turn passes that affects everyone on the field that includes weather and terrain effects, damage over time and of course making recharge moves make it seem like they don’t recharge. Palkia could have an ability where it could make all moves accurate/hit both opponents but it could also make all moves used in succession give an increase crit chance making Spacial Rend more deadlier. And Giratina could have an ability to give all moves the Contrary effect to reference the Distortion World reversing everything.
I think Cresselia needs either some sort of healing ability or a specific stat buffing ability. It isn’t the “good night’s sleep” or “sweet dreams” Pokémon, but Darkrai is all about nightmares and what is the opposite of nightmares? Pleasant sleep. In addition to your new ability, Dialga needs Solar Beam given the sun’s relation to time.
Lunar veil: whenever the teams Pokémon enter sleep (due to their own effects or a foes) they are fully restored. The Pokémon will always wake up next time they act.
I understand the theming you were going for but if you’re going to give Articuno snow warning then wouldn’t it be better to give Zapdos drizzle and Moltres drought?
If Koraidon, Miraidon and Calyrex can have two abilities, I don't see why Zapdos can't have both Lightning Rod + Drizzle, Moltres have both Drought + «Water Immunity», and Articuno have both Snow Warning + Snow Cloak
@Timuru more accuracy and power, and make him take less from electric type attacks when raining or just have them power him up like lightning rod. They should be LEGENDARY like their status implies.
Similar to how Rayquaza and Zygarde have abilities which let them basically cancel out the other two Legendaries in their respective trios, I think Giratina could have an ability called something like "Ghostly Distortion" which activates when it uses its signature move Shadow Force. Doing so would activate a "Distorted Terrain" on the field, which nullifies the effects of Palkia and Dialga's own abilities. Giratina's Pokedex entries all pretty much say the same thing about it being banished for its violence, and the Distortion World being a place where common knowledge is distorted, so if you wanted to lean more into a lore-accurate ability, you could have the Distorted Terrain apply some other kind of effect, like changing the effects of status moves or something. Someone else in the comments mentioned Giratina changing the battle to an inverse battle, which would also be pretty cool, but I'm not an expert on competitive and feel like having one Pokemon that can completely change the format of a battle would be too broken and make competitive battling a complete nightmare. On the violence side of things, another possible ability for Giratina would be an ability called "Ruthless Spirit" or something along those lines, which would allow Giratina's ghost type attacks to always hit an opponent regardless of any typing, ability, evasion/accuracy or protection. You could probably take it a step further by making ghost type moves ignore resistances as well, or have them get a buff when the ability activates, but that would really be up to how overpowered you want to make it. Shadow Force could probably be slightly adjusted to account for this ability as well.
I think that reshiram and zekrom's abilities are great, ignoring abilities is a niche that really add to the reasons to use them over other ubers. Instead of a reskined mold breaker I think that it should keep its mold breaker effect AND give them a 30% boost in fire and electric moves respectively.
Yes and Heal them while they sleep. Considering sleep is a very rare condition , especially on allies, making Cresselia have an ability that heals sleeping Allys, negates bad dreams, and boosts their defense while sleeping will be acceptable power wise
To me a giratina signature ability could be pretty interesting concept My first idea is something I would call distorted just Essentially it’s a set up/set up move like sunny day or trick room Essentially my idea is that when it enters battle a mist surrounds the battlefield that causes stat related moves to distort and become the opposite of what would burn all happen as if everyone had contrary Essentially moves like dragon dance would lower stats and super power would raise them and you would need to balance your team to ensure you don’t either debuff yourself or buff your enemies Could really help with kind games as the opponent can’t just set up a dragon dance or swords dance when they read a switch
Awesome video with some creative ideas that I'd love to see incorporated for real For Giratina off the top of my head I think it's ability should make it immune to Ghost moves as can relate Ghost type composition to Anti-matter which Giratina controls Also I'm surprised that Latias and Latios have never had the Plus and Minus hidden ability as they look like they would have it
Here's an idea for Regigigas, Slow Start, but only lasts two turns, and once the two turns ends, Slow Start will be disabled for the rest of the battle, even if he switches out!
I'd give Giratina an ability that activates the effect of "Gravity" on Switch-In, which seems fitting enough, while not being overtly broken imo and it could make good use of it by using more low accuracy moves, like Thunder or Stone Edge as an example
Cresselia could prob do the opposite effect of darkrai with a leftover heal effect for anything asleep and allowing itself to move freely even when asleep. In reference to the dex entry that those that hold its feathers are assured of joyful dreams.
I’d feel like If Palkia and Dialga had more Canon abilities, Dialga would have an ability to always go first in a turn witch would show it actively using time control to speed itself up, where as Palkia would make itself more accurate and evasive to show it using space manipulation to attack and avoid.
Maybe for Giratina, a signature ability acting like a built-in White Herb in exchange for any lower accuracy by 20% (something like Draco Meteor's halved Special Attack or Superpower's Attack & Defense drop being negated, for example) known as Dimensional Merge or Nitro Matter (still reconsidering name options)?
I love the concept of new lore-themed abilities for Legendary Pokémon! I had a similar idea for Dialga and Palkia where they each control time and space. Each would be accompanied with a new signature move (for their secondary types) that would take advantage of the ability. For Dialga, this would be "Temporal Aberration" which is pretty much a Power Herb for everyone on the field and skips recharge. Likewise, Palkia would have "Interstellar Abeyance" which makes the effects of Gravity permanent. With Giratina, I had a hard time creating an ability that made sense for it. Shadow Shield would make its Altered Form truly unkillable and I would love to see it. After doing some research on antimatter, I came up with the aptly named "Antimatter" which is Contrary for everyone. This would be a double-edged sword but it goes along with everything being inverted. I want Regigigas to finally escape from the depths and receive a new ability titled "Regis Mode." This would give it both an offensive and defensive boost. This would slightly boost the power of its Rock, Ice, Steel, Electric, and Dragon moves while also reducing damage received by said types. For Zekrom and Reshiram I went a bit overboard and borrowed from Miraidon and Koraidon by buffing their abilities to mimic the effects of Hadron Engine and Orichalcum Pulse but increasing Attack and Special Attack respectively. Yeah...these two would be a problem.
A new ability for Giratina could be “rule breaker” and it has the effect that, when Giratina gets defeated bevor it’s attacking, it will still attack with an guaranteed Crit and faint afterwards
another fitting name for galarian zapdos' new ability would be "striker" which could function the exact same as in the video, plus so many mons could benefit from such an ability that have a lot of kicking moves or would just thematically fit for such (like cinderace)
Shadow shield is good for Giratina but I would think of a better ability that can summon something like Magic Room, Trick Room and Wonder Room since their move descriptions say that the rooms can create bizarre areas that can mess with stats and basically make items useless. And the name I'm kinda working on it. Also I thought Regirock's ability name needed a bit more omph so we'll have it be called Mineral Absorb.
I've always liked to imagine that legendaries aren't able to use their full strength when they're connected to a Pokeball, and that we were hearing the Feats and accomplishments of an unrestrained legendary in the Pokedex. Diamond pearl and platinum, I believe the leader of Team Galactic also makes mention of this oh, so these abilities start to sound like what they would actually have if they weren't in a Pokeball.
I'd give Giratina the ability Wonder Guard, or a variation called "Annihilate". Based on the concept of annihilation in physics, in which antimatter and matter cancel each other out. In this case, since supereffective types are sometimes based on opposites (like Water > Fire > Ice), Giratina's antimatter properties make it so that it can only be "destroyed" by the opposite properties. Alternatively (to make it less broken), the ability could instead be something like "Antimatter Armor", which makes it only immune to supereffective hits (the ability works like a protective shield surrounding Giratina)
Ability for Giratina! Distortion Field: inverts the effects of all other abilities only while this Pokémon is on the field. It would mainly would make abilities that lower stats boost them instead and vice versa, but it could also do some cool stuff like make Pokémon with Shadow Tag unable to switch out instead of making their opponent unable to switch out, Magma Armor makes a pokemon guaranteed to be frozen if hit by a move that can freeze, Pokémon with Truant attack twice per turn, etc.
For giritina I thought of an ability named "corrupted presence" where while giritina is on the field light based moves don't work. Like dazzling gleam, moonlight and sunlight, solar beam, flash cannon, ext.
Volcanic healing with moltres in doubles format would actually be pretty cool and could even make fire spin more viable just to have an ally pokemon use it on said moltres for a leftovers kind of healing.
Giratina's signature ability could be "distortion field" where it creates a space around the battle similar to the distortion world that boosts all of its ghost type moves . It's based on anti matter so this way it can use its full power without damaging the world around it .
Now I randomly want to see Slugma and Kingambit flying in formation with Kilowattrel. Especially since they seem to have a red-tailed hawk mascot cheering them on.
When I saw this video's title, I immediately thought the same ability for palkia, but for dialga I thought other thing, It would be basically a parental bond ability, but without the debuff, and you could chose the second hit move
For Giratina I like the Idea that it would have reverse weaknesses and resistances. Idk why it just sounds right. And maybe it flips priority and always hits last moves
7:35 Shadow Aura: The Pokemon summons a veil of shadows that protect it of any form of indirect damage (wheather, field traps, status problems). Also, gives it ground immunity. The ability is a reference to their battle in Legends Arceus (in which Giratina is surounded in a dark aura, that has a similar effect) and their first aparence back in pokemon platinum (in which it's all covered in darkness). The ground inmunity part it's because Giratina can fly in their both forms.
I think a cool idea for Giratina would be to give its altered forme an ability that gives it half of its hp back when it's KOed and turns it into its origin forme, kind of like what happens during the Legends Arceus fight, but weaker. I'd call it "Draconian Rebellion" or something.
for giratina i would give it a ability called "distorted teleportation" which makes moves like fly go first and hit their target at the end of the turn ignoring protect, but only once per every other turn
I would've thought that the ability you gave to Latios and Latias have the effect of increasing evasiveness, that increase depleting after Latios/ias has been hit with a status or a move that has a chance of giving it a status
Idk why I imagined Giritina having something like Zygarde’s ability where once it reaches 50% HP it changes to it’s other Form and boosts all it’s stats but not by too much
Giratina gets an ability called Distortion where it sets up Magic Room, Trick Room, and Wonder Room when it switches in, and deactivates them when it switches out.
Very cool ideas. I think pressure wads just a bit too easy a choice for them. Shame because as you say. Suits Mewtwo perfectly so it's a shame to cheapen it.
Alternative for Moltres. Since it’s healed my molten lava (essentially rock) have it healed by Rock Type attacks (it’s flame body turns rock into lava). (Just saw the Rock Absorb for regi-rock, so give that to Moltres - great for stealth rock!)
Some suggestions: *Jirachi* *Ability: Wishmaster* - Future Sight and Doom Desire activate instantly. Wish loses 1 turn of activation. *The Lake Guardians* *Ability: Collective Unconscious* - Grants the effects of Levitate as well as changes their signature move Mystical Power into Red Chain. *New Attack: Red Chain* [Psychic | Special | PWR: 100 | ACC: 100 | PP: 10] - Deals damage as well as prevents target from escaping. *The Creation Trio* *Ability: Primordial Chaos* - Change into their Origin Formes upon fainting once in battle when holding their respective orbs. They now take neutral damage from their type weaknesses. *(Fun Fact:* Primordial Chaos is the in-universe name of the Creation Trio, as said by Arceus itself) *Arceus* *Ability: Azathoth* - Gains a secondary typing that changes based on the opponent's incoming attack. The default type is Ghost. *New Attack: Voice of Sinnoh* [Normal | Special | PWR: -- | ACC: -- | PP: 1] - It's a guaranteed OHKO, breaching through immunities and protection. *Kyurem* *Ability: Absolute Zero* - Gains a STAB boost from Fire and Electric attacks. Changes its signature move Glaciate into World Destroyer. *New Attack: World Destroyer* [Dragon | Special | PWR: 120 | ACC: 100 | PP: 5] - Deals damage and has a 25% chance to either Burn, Freeze, Paralyze. *Eternatus* *Ability: Darkest Day* - Allows it to transform once into its Eternamax Form for 3 turns as long as Dynamax Cannon is above 0 PP.
Well that's some broken abilities, but with the actual powercreep, that's fine. Considering the creation trio are litterally Gods, that makes sense. And Arceus... well it's the god of gods. Also that's true Kyurem needs to be better. Perhaps we'll get the original dragon one day. I would have liked to see your buff for Zekrom and Reshiram, though !
Give Giratina an ability that plays on it’s ability to travel between distortion world and normal world. Basically all its physical moves become 2 turn moves, as it drops into the distortion world to get closer and attack.
Very good changes, very well thought out, nice. my idea for giratina, since its been in the inverse world reverse the effect of all type matchups against it. would also make it unique as the one and only dragon untouchable by faries.
4:55 it's sword pokedex entry said "Registeel’s body is made of a strange material that is flexible enough to stretch and shrink but also more durable than any metal." so i have an idea, make an ability called "Flexure Metal"(name is currently being workshopped) anyway, "Reduces damage from physical move by 35%"
i was thinking for Giratina it should have Distortion Veil: similar to the time control with the 2 turn moves it uses but increases power by 10% if super eff, but it takes 2 PP per use. and itll be fitting name because of the Distortion World it comes and goes from.
Slow start could boost regigigas Atk and speed by 50% if he stays on the field for 1-2 turns but still keeps his lessened atk and speed for the first turn he’s out. Or they could make so that after 2-3 turns pass total with him on the field (regardless of switching out he gets the boost)
Giratina should have something that blocks Wonder room,Trick room, Gravity and similar moves since in the Distortion world the rules of reality aren't the same. The description could be "The Pokémon emanates a distorted energy that blocks the activation of moves that have to do with dimensions" or some sort
What if instead Time Control turned any move that misses or fails into a future sight style attack that also hits through protect next turn. This would basically be the time version of Palkias ability.
I just thought of something way more broken than Time Control called Turnback. *Turnback:* When in danger (red health), Turnback takes you back to the amount of HP you had the previous turn. It can only be used once per battle.
For Palkia I’d give it an ability sets up wonder room, magic room, or trick room on being sent in. If trick room on switch in seems too strong, make it so it sets up trick room on successfully using Spacial Rend on a Pokémon.
latias/latios new ability would change things for their playstyles. latios could force a switch easy and use purge on switch in giving it immunity to status/dmg letting it set up a D.D to get the speed and break walls. maybe not sweeping teams but will force people to run checks/counters to deal with him
Anti-matter strike for Giratina, it would work like tinted lens but all moves that are immune do neutral damage. Ex, with the new ability it would be able to hit normal Pokémon with its signature move Shadow Force. P.s the name is not final btw
Since Giratina was conceived as the embodiment of antimatter, I'd have its ability turn the battle into an Inverse Battle, where super effective moves are not very effective and vice versa.
Personally, I think the Zapdos and Moltres should have Drizzle and Drought respectively, keeping them in line with your idea for Articuno. Dialga, Palkia and Giratina on the other hand, I think should share an ability (but with different names) the ability to switch in and use an attack on the same turn, Dialga could "freeze time" Palkia could "bend space" and Giratina would distort... something.
For Giratina how about an ability that makes Weather and Status Conditions Effects be Reversed while on Field, So Burn and Poison Would Heal and Burn gives Atk buff, Para would give Speed Buff, Sun and Rain would Lower dmg of moves and Sandstorm heals while Snow and sandstorm would give Defense down buffs to Ice and Rocks types Just Call it Distortion Control or Avatar of Chaos XD (maybe Avatar of Space/Time would be better name for Dialga and Palkia ability?)
What if lunar veil restored some hp while the Pokémon was asleep per turn and halfed the number of turns you would be asleep? Like an inverse bad dreams and early bird in one
For Giratina's ability, I would give him Dimension Burst, an ability which makes his opponent (and one of the two opponents in VGC) take a 60 base power no type and ignoring the walls, protect and defense buffs attack during the turn where Giratina is not on the field using Shadow Force, mimicking the way Giratina destroys pieces of the normal world in the 11th movie.
I think Giratina could have an ability that’s similar to Unaware where it’s attacks go through stat boosts but also reduce their stat boosts by one stage upon hitting them if they have any. I think Regirock should have Solid Rock as it’s ability or Regenerator like Garganacl since in it’s pokedex entries, it is described to use surrounding rocks to repair itself. Here’s a weird one though. I think Solgoleo should come with Heatproof. Zekrom’s Teravolt should also act similar to Belibolt, but whenever it uses an electric type move, it’s next move will be charged. Reshiram will have the same but get a flash fire boost instead. Also, the sword’s of Justice should have f***ing Sharpness ability god dang it.
Eternatus Ability idea: Energy Absorb - When eternatus is hit by a supereffective move, it still takes 25% less damage, but absorbs some of the damage. When it faints, it unleashes this absorbed energy, damaging every pokemon on the field
Awesome job on the new video JPR. I got you on ideas for a couple of these legendaries. LUGIA -STORMBRINGER: Upon switching into battle, its powerful wings flap to set up Tailwind. Also gains a 20% Boost in Power to Aeroblast! GIRITINA -DISTORTION: Upon switching in, it's very presence Alters reality & turns the battle into an inverse battle. VIRIZION,TERAKKION,& COBALION -SWORD OF JUSTICE: if the Pokemon with this ability switches in immediately after a Cobalion, Terakkion, or Virizion is knocked out, the Pokemon games and omniboost( activates only once a battle) HO-OH -RAINBOW ASH: upon being knocked out, select one of your Pokemon that has already fainted, that Pokemon gets sent back into battle with 50% of its total HP restored(occurs once a Battle)
For me the sword of Justice ability Is perfect lore wise the became stronger when hit with dark moves, which in japanese Is the evil type so the Justice Will Always prevail on the evil
Not sure if there is already but continuing on this theme, have pokemons their canonical types or what they could be. Some pokemons seems to have wrong types or odd choice of typing. Kinda like retconning some pokemons type because of the Fairy type
Thabks for giving Articuno the ability to set up hail. We need more pokemon that can set up weather as an ability. Will truly spice things up even though in more of a casual
Regigigas should have a diferent version of adaptability were its stats increase by 10% for every turn he stays on the field and those increases getting halved after switching out instead of removing all the buffs
Can't speak for base Giratina (I'm blanking on the actual name), but Levitate fits for Origin Form, and the gravity distortion in the Distortion World implies Giratina has control over gravity. Also, thx for giving Zekrom a good ability.
My idea to make the Sinnoh gods broken was giving Palkia a new ability called Spacial Control where it's attacks never miss, go through any protect style defenses, and I honestly like the idea for making all of it's moves hit all opponents. For Dialga it would Temporal Mastery where it can manipulate time to give itself a free turn 50% of the time, reducing the chances of another free turn down to 1% after the free first turn, then 0% after the second free turn, and I do like the idea of reducing the number of turns for multi-turn moves like Solar Beam, so I'll give it that as well. For Giratina it would be Distortion World (name is WIP) where it dodges by going into the distortion world, completely invulnerable to all moves and this ability has a 50% activation every turn and I like the video's idea of having the ability to reduce super effective damage so it gets that as well. For Arceus its new ability would be Originator and its basically multi-type with a random chance to nullify any of the Creation Trios abilities and also has a random chance of using any of the Creation Trios abilities. So if Dialga were to have another turn, Arceus says no, if Palkia were to hit it, Arceus says no, and if Giratina were to dodge any moves, Arceus again says no. Basically, it's near movie accurate Arceus. Also all of the Sinnoh gods signature moves are typeless and always hit super effective damage, I don't think being fairy type gives you the right to be immune to a space rending move or a time distorting attack or having the god pokemon judge you. In line with this video, this was never about fairness, these abilities would be a goddamn nightmare to play against and I think it would be funny if the Sinnoh gods did have perfect or near perfect lore accurate abilities.
Give giratina "Moonlight night". Summons nightime weather effects. Like the opposite of sunny day. It boosts moonlight's healing and can add buffs to ghost and dark type moves. There are a lot of ways we can handle this but here are a few examples: -Powers up dark/ghost type moves -Adds flinch chance to all ghost/dark attacks -Dark/ghost type pokemon gain evasiveness
Considering the true mewtwo from the first movie can send people back in time wipe dozens of Pokemon and a dozen peoples memories while doing so create a storm that’ll destroy human civilization by waving his hand around I can only imagine his realistic ability just everything haha
This video is why in my own game I am not giving everyone and everything an ability since it means that I can focus more on abilities that make sense for each creature.
Damn imagine if dialga’s ability changes all of its moves into priority one like with gale wings (but instead of flying, it is all types and no health conditions) thing would be the strongest pokemon. Ever. I mean it controls time.
For Giratina you could also do the Latios/Latias' Light Refraction, Mimikyu's Disguise or Eiscue's Ice Body idk maybe call it Shadow Veil making it invulnerable to physical, special or status moves for the 1st turn, could be also if switched out upon switching back in within the same battle the ability resets. Basically every first turn that Giratina is on the field it's invulnerable like an Auto-Protect. For Kyurem, for the 1st turn once in a battle upon switching in or as a first appearance automatically have every pokemon besides Kyurem have a Frozen status even your ally in double battles. It just fits the Absolute Zero name as an ability. Im not well versed on the competitive scene, it'll obviously be too OP for the both of them. Thematically it looks sound to me.
Cool ideals bro. I think Dialga’s time control ability needs to reflect the strong or speed styles attacks of Pokémon legends Arceus. Attack twice or going fast.
What ability changes would you make to Legendary Pokemon?
But also when you make contact with them cuz I'm evil and want it to be that way😊
Electric Surge wouldn’t help Zapdos anyways, since it wouldn’t benefit from the Electric boost since it’s not grounded, so good job not doing that.
@Nightmarish Taco No it's basically electric terrain but for flyers.
@AdventureKitty101 2.0 so its a weather effect? Maybe only dealing damage to non electric types
Static atmosphere seems like a cool variant to electric surge. Basically does the same thing but in the air instead lol.(Ive never made fan made Pokemon abilities before so don't hate me lol)
Rising Voltage tho
@beibkk its sharp wings could work too, i mean, pikachus and electrivires tails work for it
I've always wanted Dialga, Palkia, and Giritina to have abilities that set Trick Room, Gravity, and Inverse battles respectively!
@Daniel Crudif it had something like Mold Breaker that would be nice
@Perry Carters bug and grass suddenly op
Every other legendary Pokemon have their canon or accurate ability meanwhile the creation trio all get boring pressure
Personally, I think Registeel should get Mega Aggron's Filter ability, since it's been described before of having a body that cannot be scratched.
@Golden Hateas yes the debate on how easy ORAS is compared to RSE
God I love mega-aggron. Swept poor steven with him without taking damage (on level)
Love the concept for this one, and I agree, Dialga and Palkia having Pressure is...thematically underwhelming lol
@minmin8 story wise it's great tho, who wouldn't scared meeting timelord and spacelord. And imagine hitting them.
@minmin8 if thats true thats actually stupid. That said they are not really usable in comp yet
It's worst than that. There are new origin forms for dialga and palkia and they still got pressure as an ability 😂
@AznYunHou does the attack dealing physical damage not count as an extra effect?
Also berserk Is a fitting ability
I think Mewtwo would have an ability that nullifies all other pokemon's abilities. It canonically blocked the special abilities of the clone and regular pokemon in the 1st movie.
Regigias: replace Slow Start with Warm Up. Instead of cutting its attack and speed, it instead doubles its attack and speed for managing to burn 5 turns.
Regigigas should have just got an ancient power boost every turn and started around 500 BST.
I can feel the metagame breaking...
@P It's stats are no higher than the average Uber
@Enzo Ponce I thought that too, first turn it has attack and speed like slow start and the next turns increase attack and speed until turn 5 its attack and speed is double
I once heard about making slow start 3 turns, but every turn increases regigigas power slowly, ramping up until it reaches it's full potential (and give him huge power afterwards bc i want to see the world burn)
Ok but Giving Kyurem the ability called
"Absolute Zero" is just Raw
And it is also sheer cold in Chinese
@Spark Taylor no because they already have abilities perfect for them.
@Spark Taylor he didn't say it has to be balanced
@robert lupa i thought it would be like sonerthing as "sub-zero reaper" but that could wirk as an sbility
@Moonstriker 2514 that's just asking for a nerf or ban to AG
Honestly with how powercreep has been going, time control is probably perfectly fine without the nerf lol. The idea def is great though!
I doubt it would even be overpowered in today's meta
@Rarest Inverse battles for Giratina.
Type matchups become the opposite.
Gravity fits better with Giratina imo
@Radjon Yes Palkia should automatically set ‘Gravity’ when it enters battle!
Giratina: I have Contrary as an ability now. Go nuts.
Special Attacking Grass Types: Leaf Storm time
I really wish Dialga and Palkia got an ability change in their origin forms like Giratina.
@Trose7200 nah, that would be too much i think
@Enzo Ponceoh make it even more busted and have it prevent Dream Eater too. Or maybe dream eater causes recoil instead of healing the user
Allied pokemon that falls asleep recovers 25% hp every turn, prevents bad dreams
What about a leftovers type ability?
I understand the theming you were going for but if you’re going to give Articuno snow warning then wouldn’t it be better to give Zapdos drizzle and Moltres drought?
If Koraidon, Miraidon and Calyrex can have two abilities, I don't see why Zapdos can't have both Lightning Rod + Drizzle, Moltres have both Drought + «Water Immunity», and Articuno have both Snow Warning + Snow Cloak
@Timuru more accuracy and power, and make him take less from electric type attacks when raining or just have them power him up like lightning rod. They should be LEGENDARY like their status implies.
yeah what i thought, plus the drizzle helps zapdos's thunder accuracy so its not a total waste on him
Similar to how Rayquaza and Zygarde have abilities which let them basically cancel out the other two Legendaries in their respective trios, I think Giratina could have an ability called something like "Ghostly Distortion" which activates when it uses its signature move Shadow Force.
Let the reskinned mold breaker only work on Dragon + Fire/Electric type moves if it gets the 30% boost.
Maybe lunar veil could have reduced the damage done to sleeping allies! That and prevent Darkrai’s Bad Dreams ability from affecting them
Yes and Heal them while they sleep. Considering sleep is a very rare condition , especially on allies, making Cresselia have an ability that heals sleeping Allys, negates bad dreams, and boosts their defense while sleeping will be acceptable power wise
Regenerator would've been a good fit for Regirock, although absorbing Sneaky Pebbles would definitely be much more useful.
Regirock is such a good ability, I would love to see it become a reality
To me a giratina signature ability could be pretty interesting concept
My first idea is something I would call distorted just
Essentially it’s a set up/set up move like sunny day or trick room
Essentially my idea is that when it enters battle a mist surrounds the battlefield that causes stat related moves to distort and become the opposite of what would burn all happen as if everyone had contrary
Essentially moves like dragon dance would lower stats and super power would raise them and you would need to balance your team to ensure you don’t either debuff yourself or buff your enemies
Could really help with kind games as the opponent can’t just set up a dragon dance or swords dance when they read a switch
Awesome video with some creative ideas that I'd love to see incorporated for real
For Giratina off the top of my head I think it's ability should make it immune to Ghost moves as can relate Ghost type composition to Anti-matter which Giratina controls
Also I'm surprised that Latias and Latios have never had the Plus and Minus hidden ability as they look like they would have it
Yes!! They come as a pair and are the same colours as plusle and minin
I hope someone at Gamefreak watches this. Some of these are absolutely brilliant
My idea for Dialga would also be named time control, but make it so Dialga doesnt lose PP when using a move :D
Kyruem’s fusion forms get an additional STAB of Fire or Electric depending on the form.
I think it’s about time we let Palkia always get a crit if there’s a higher chance to crit on a move
Levitate: Pokemon is now weak to ground instead of immune.
Giratina's signature ability could be
"distortion field" where it creates a space around the battle similar to the distortion world that boosts all of its ghost type moves .
It's based on anti matter so this way it can use its full power without damaging the world around it .
2:44 perhaps Cauterize could be a better name for an ability that heals with fire... or it could remove status effects when hit by a fire type move
Now I randomly want to see Slugma and Kingambit flying in formation with Kilowattrel. Especially since they seem to have a red-tailed hawk mascot cheering them on.
But… Electric Terrain doesn’t affect Zapdos unless it’s holding an Iron Ball 😅
Lightning Rod was definitely the better choice ⚡️
When I saw this video's title, I immediately thought the same ability for palkia, but for dialga I thought other thing, It would be basically a parental bond ability, but without the debuff, and you could chose the second hit move
For Giratina I like the Idea that it would have reverse weaknesses and resistances. Idk why it just sounds right. And maybe it flips priority and always hits last moves
7:35
Shadow Aura: The Pokemon summons a veil of shadows that protect it of any form of indirect damage (wheather, field traps, status problems).
Idk why I imagined Giritina having something like Zygarde’s ability where once it reaches 50% HP it changes to it’s other Form and boosts all it’s stats but not by too much
Giratina gets an ability called Distortion where it sets up Magic Room, Trick Room, and Wonder Room when it switches in, and deactivates them when it switches out.
would love to see Lugia get an Abilty that boost Water moves, or related to Water
Should we be expecting a new type history video anytime soon?
Psychic? Ground? Bug?
Very cool ideas. I think pressure wads just a bit too easy a choice for them. Shame because as you say. Suits Mewtwo perfectly so it's a shame to cheapen it.
I have to say your idea for the Necrozma ability is GENIUS! I want it so bad, as my favorite Pokemon is Necrozma so thank you
Alternative for Moltres. Since it’s healed my molten lava (essentially rock) have it healed by Rock Type attacks (it’s flame body turns rock into lava). (Just saw the Rock Absorb for regi-rock, so give that to Moltres - great for stealth rock!)
Some suggestions:
*Jirachi*
*Ability: Wishmaster* - Future Sight and Doom Desire activate instantly. Wish loses 1 turn of activation.
*The Lake Guardians*
*Ability: Collective Unconscious* - Grants the effects of Levitate as well as changes their signature move Mystical Power into Red Chain.
*New Attack: Red Chain*
[Psychic | Special | PWR: 100 | ACC: 100 | PP: 10]
- Deals damage as well as prevents target from escaping.
*The Creation Trio*
*Ability: Primordial Chaos* - Change into their Origin Formes upon fainting once in battle when holding their respective orbs. They now take neutral damage from their type weaknesses.
*(Fun Fact:* Primordial Chaos is the in-universe name of the Creation Trio, as said by Arceus itself)
*Arceus*
*Ability: Azathoth* - Gains a secondary typing that changes based on the opponent's incoming attack. The default type is Ghost.
*New Attack: Voice of Sinnoh*
[Normal | Special | PWR: -- | ACC: -- | PP: 1]
- It's a guaranteed OHKO, breaching through immunities and protection.
*Kyurem*
*Ability: Absolute Zero* - Gains a STAB boost from Fire and Electric attacks. Changes its signature move Glaciate into World Destroyer.
*New Attack: World Destroyer*
[Dragon | Special | PWR: 120 | ACC: 100 | PP: 5]
- Deals damage and has a 25% chance to either Burn, Freeze, Paralyze.
*Eternatus*
*Ability: Darkest Day* - Allows it to transform once into its Eternamax Form for 3 turns as long as Dynamax Cannon is above 0 PP.
Galarian Slowking will be the best friend of Eternatus
4:55 it's sword pokedex entry said "Registeel’s body is made of a strange material that is flexible enough to stretch and shrink but also more durable than any metal." so i have an idea, make an ability called "Flexure Metal"(name is currently being workshopped) anyway, "Reduces damage from physical move by 35%"
i was thinking for Giratina it should have
Distortion Veil: similar to the time control with the 2 turn moves it uses but increases power by 10% if super eff, but it takes 2 PP per use.
and itll be fitting name because of the Distortion World it comes and goes from.
Slow start could boost regigigas Atk and speed by 50% if he stays on the field for 1-2 turns but still keeps his lessened atk and speed for the first turn he’s out. Or they could make so that after 2-3 turns pass total with him on the field (regardless of switching out he gets the boost)
Regiice gaining an ability that gives it 2 immunities would be insane. Maybe it would finally be useful
Giratina should have something that blocks Wonder room,Trick room, Gravity and similar moves since in the Distortion world the rules of reality aren't the same. The description could be "The Pokémon emanates a distorted energy that blocks the activation of moves that have to do with dimensions" or some sort
I’d love to see a video like this for mysticals
What if instead Time Control turned any move that misses or fails into a future sight style attack that also hits through protect next turn. This would basically be the time version of Palkias ability.
I've always thought that slow start should act similar to Comatose during the turns he's weakened to not make it completely useless
If trick room on switch in seems too strong, make it so it sets up trick room on successfully using Spacial Rend on a Pokémon.
latias/latios new ability would change things for their playstyles. latios could force a switch easy and use purge on switch in giving it immunity to status/dmg letting it set up a D.D to get the speed and break walls. maybe not sweeping teams but will force people to run checks/counters to deal with him
Giritina could have an ability that changes all physical moves into special moves and vice versa
Anti-matter strike for Giratina, it would work like tinted lens but all moves that are immune do neutral damage.
Ex, with the new ability it would be able to hit normal Pokémon with its signature move Shadow Force.
P.s the name is not final btw
Very creative abilities for dialga and palkia, they’re perfect
will regigigas actually be viable if after the 5 turns of slowstart it gets hugepower?
The huge power cut away genuinely made me laugh
Since Giratina was conceived as the embodiment of antimatter, I'd have its ability turn the battle into an Inverse Battle, where super effective moves are not very effective and vice versa.
Personally, I think the Zapdos and Moltres should have Drizzle and Drought respectively, keeping them in line with your idea for Articuno.
Dialga, Palkia and Giratina on the other hand, I think should share an ability (but with different names) the ability to switch in and use an attack on the same turn, Dialga could "freeze time" Palkia could "bend space" and Giratina would distort... something.
I think Giratina can have an ability like disorder which swaps EVERY HAZARD ACTIVE in when entering including the ones that you setup.
the new kick ability would have to be given to Hitmonlee making it viable again which i love
For Giratina how about an ability that makes Weather and Status Conditions Effects be Reversed while on Field, So Burn and Poison Would Heal and Burn gives Atk buff, Para would give Speed Buff, Sun and Rain would Lower dmg of moves and Sandstorm heals while Snow and sandstorm would give Defense down buffs to Ice and Rocks types
Just Call it Distortion Control or Avatar of Chaos XD (maybe Avatar of Space/Time would be better name for Dialga and Palkia ability?)
Eternatus Ability idea: Energy Absorb
- When eternatus is hit by a supereffective move, it still takes 25% less damage, but absorbs some of the damage.
VIRIZION,TERAKKION,& COBALION
-SWORD OF JUSTICE: if the Pokemon with this ability switches in immediately after a Cobalion, Terakkion, or Virizion is knocked out, the Pokemon games and omniboost( activates only once a battle)
HO-OH -RAINBOW ASH: upon being knocked out, select one of your Pokemon that has already fainted, that Pokemon gets sent back into battle with 50% of its total HP restored(occurs once a Battle)
I think an automatic trick room setting ability for giratina would work
Please do this for mythicalssss! Deoxys needs awesome abilities!!
There are a lot of ways we can handle this but here are a few examples:
-Powers up dark/ghost type moves
-Adds flinch chance to all ghost/dark attacks
-Dark/ghost type pokemon gain evasiveness
Ash's Pikachu would've had something like Balanced Terrain, which defaults every EV and IV to 0, disables stat changes, typing and such.
@Paul Fedorowicz that a great ideal bro. If I can add to that, make it that it’s take 2 pp for each attack
How about skip recharge? It’s niche but for dialga it works well with roar of time
For Girantina, something like Void Thorns would work, if hit by a super effective move, the opposing pokémon will deal continous damage for 5 turns
