The energy of this one was amazing, everyone got along and laughed, and the crowd of women really played a part in the opinions, no one looked hostile, this was my fav to watch.
a proud year for Yale, two Nobel winners, Prof. James Rothman for Medicine and Prof. Rob Shiller for Economics, whose seminars I happened to attend a few when I was at Yale.
she makes a good point though. I'm an economics student and a lot of the modules are not relevant at all to the majority of jobs that want economic students
The host, Zeinab Badawi is doing a good job here. She is an quite intelligent to be able to jeep up with some of the most seasoned intellectuals of our time.
The question about whether scientists do a good job communicating with the public is kind of weird. Firstly this neglects the certainty that most people consume their science news from journalists not scientists. So you could as well have asked who thinks that journalists do a good job as intermediaries between scientists and the public and that would have been a more sensible question. A completely separate question is _who thinks the public do a good job of interpreting the information that science offers?_ There has never been greater public access to frontier science than today. As a member of the public I would say the onus is not only on the scientists or the journalists but the public too. Wanting to be spoon fed your science by a scientist or a journalist is a lousy way to think. We are responsible for our own learning. If you look for the learning tools and resources they are always there. So I would happily have voted the opposite way to the majority of the audience. Scientists are doing a tremendous job of informing the public, but the public are largely not interested and that's not the fault of the scientists, that's the fault of a public who, by and large, are lazy and who expect to have to make no effort to understand their world.
After getting used to watch nd listen to them I realized how stupid the world has come to! Only uploading photos on Social media! Going to gym nd a random stupid guy posting a video getting 10 Mil. View on doing absolutely nothing!!! Just stupidity! Hats off Ladies nd gentlemen ❤️❤️nd brave laureates ❤️🌺
C Cuddy Because focusing on the prize subverts what the prize is for: contributing to the advancement of humanity - which is already a reward in itself, the nobel prize is just secondary.
The thing is there is a time constraint... imagine curious nobel laureates talking and being asked about their work,,, ya that'll be a weekend retreat.
There's 24 hours of a completely black screen which has more views than this video and all the other Nobel roundtables put together. I'd say it's sad but it's far, far worse than merely 'sad'.
Nobel Minds 2020 has been released! Watch it now: kzclip.org/video/Kr92M3l1ea0/бейне.html
please tell the host lady to not interrupt when the guests are talking. she is so irritating'

This is my favourite thing to watch shame its only once a year.
I love Physicists! They are irreverent bastards who keep at it to everyone's chagrin. Excited about the Higgs being here!!
awesome sociopolitical topics
11:38 "Is it your role as professors of economics to teach students about economics?" And the nobel prize in question asking goes to......
she has a smart question. but it's your mind can't comprehend what she means!

"The greatest minds" need to be given a better opportunity to talk...so ennoying to hear her keep interrupting these Laureates.
@jack kelly she interrupted some time just to input her jokes which are not even funny
They gives lectures in their work that led to their prize, so they are given a chance to talk there, and as stated in another comment. Time constraint

Zainab pay attention to these great minds for god's sake. Just not calm. You're great talker and moderator but you need to be more attentive.
