the only thing he fails to mention is that not everyone (depending on both skill and background) can come back from failure.
Say you have a stable job and family, you then set an audacious goal at which you fail, but in the process you lose your house, wife, kids and spend 10 years repaying debt. The chances of you "recovering" from that are very slim. It's easy for him to say as on Wall Street cash has been abundant due to government policies so when he failed he had no issue starting over again.
His recently found love of China and the CCP makes him even more unlikeable.

So grateful that I've found this video and was able to finally watch it. Ray Dalio is probably the most humblest billionaire that's well grounded, and honestly practices what he preaches. Thank you for this great interview and thanks to those that made this event possible for us to watch online!

It's simple to be an investor when circumstances are good. It's difficult to be an investor during a downturn. You must be able to control your emotions and continue to participate in both sorts of markets if you want to be a successful investor. Particularly when assets are up for sale.

@joesph cu Working with a professional to develop a well-structured investing portfolio is a wonderful approach to get started. That's why I've been working on my dealings with " *Ingrid Cecilia Raad* ". Because most traders enter the market with the intention of making a quick 10% to 20% profit, I've learnt to remain patient with the market. They miss out on the massive gains since it trades at a P/E ratio of 40-50.

To succeed in the market, you'll need a solid strategy and continual monitoring of the lines; great investors/traders don't panic when the market drops since that's when they make their money.

simply amazing. ray came across as a typical stuck up boring banker and then seeing him in this environment, talking about these methods and communicating so precisely and emotionally intelligent, showed me my own bias and that Ray deserves all the success he has had and we are lucky that he is gifting us the software and his methods. a truly generous person. I would leave everything behind to become his student. top notch person.

More than 30 years ago, I worked under a person who I still consider to be a *_textbook classic example_* of Bad Management. I've never forgotten the experience, simply because I was right about him. However, what was equally alarming was that those above him never noticed the problem until I alerted them, even though they had worked with him for years and I'd been there only a matter of months. And, even after alerting them to the problem, most still didn't notice. Clearly, I deduced, these people are _not_ businesspeople. Overall, what this experience taught me was that I was *_not_* cut-out to be a worker or _employee_ - I was more suited to a management or oversight role, even though that may sound immodest of me. But, how does a young person at the _very, very beginning_ of their career get a role in management? Best way? By starting your own business. Which is what I did. Never looked back.

I would like to talk more with people who really integrated principles in their life and business as a framework.
For some simple things it's easy. But for a complex situation it's even hard to write down some algorithms.
Life is always finding a way to surprise. And principles are just more like Algo for robots to solve different equations.

    Great communicator, humble and thoughtful.

Genius and hot shotting is dangerous...
He's focused on rock solid principles and protocols..
No more surprises... education, principles and protocols.
(That is how ships make it to port through the roughest storms)
Also, his genius, is that he has mastered the art of utilizing the strengths of each person's abilities, delegating their talents and facilitating success.

This was an AWESOME discussion. I'd add to that last question about how do you go about transforming those that need to get the message out. First, they have to CARE ENOUGH about things going on outside of their sphere of control and influence. It's not enough to sit and listen to these influencers and then calmly go back to our places of origin as if we weren't just given the gauntlet. When you have this kind of information and you sit on your hands, because it's not something that directly impacts you - then you are now part of the problem as to why these issues still persist.
Second, you have to believe that you have the ability to fix something, or even help fix something, that you didn't break and honestly have no clue what's going on. The biggest problem with fixing inequality in our educational system is that most people who receive a great, high-quality education rarely use that education to change those who aren't receiving a high-quality education. It goes back to my first point. You have to care enough. If we all started caring about others, then we can become the changes we want to see in this world. But, if you sit back, take in all this great learning, and do nothing, well....you know exactly how that story is going to end. We have to be willing to get uncomfortable in order to bring about REAL CHANGE. Until then, the status quo will remain just that.
    AGAIN, GREAT TALK!

The struggle with adaptation comes from pre conceived notions and beliefs, pain indeed and can't be helped. People need to know that pain is what changes rewires your brain. You also need motivation and visualize a better place to help endure the pain. Being able to share many dimensions if an issue without talking at an individual. Your basically making connections to existing connections, when someone finds out you know their "secret" they can open up to new ideas.

that is impressive analysis, the education system related to a family(s), many of them is human begin, like you always say the economic machine, one and another make a transaction, the sector of market will form, can we call it education market? I'm deeply appreciate your decision to share your book (your knowledge) was the bigger gift for the kids(young guys or even a adult), but this(education sectors) would full of uncontrolled complicated situation like a child was born on single parent family or even a orphan lost their parents on the very beginning (ie, different stages, ages, culture, country, etc), thanks ray i had learn a lot from this interview.

4:25, 5:23 Pain + Reflection = progress. ( diagnose what caused the failure and develop principles and then learn and improve.)
    1. Define Clear Goals
    2. Identify and not tolerate the problems.
    3. Design a method to get round the problem
    4. Teamwork to counteract each others weaknesses.
10:58 How do I know I'm right? Stress test yourself through challenging yourself by the thinking of others who share opposing opinions, thoughtful disagreements...being around independent thinkers who too have audacious goals and finding the best solution. The best ideas winning out. A upward cycle. Honest communication and thoughtful disagreement being open to the notion you may be wrong reigning in your ego and remaining open minded. 14:09, 15:23 Tool for operating in this way.

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. The stock market has plenty of opportunities to earn which I myself took advantage of.. I made my first million from going diverse, mainly ETFs(stocks, bonds etc), coins, and gold. I'm also working on an investment plan that includes NFTs with my advisor, Jane Marie Kunak. It's been a year and half of steady growth...

at Rob W -Ray Dalio said that - the economic system we have is broken due to problems such as interest on national debt. Ray Dalio says a economic deflationary depression is coming. already Ohio and Michigan and pennslvania and west virgina are seeing a depression, i like being informed about up coming disasters in 2020 so i too smash that like button too !
