John once referred to Tucker as “the human equivalent of a blood spattered boat shoe found at the scene of a hazing death” in case you forgot that he’s both a comedian and a poet.
John is brilliant at talking/reading; but living proof that as I always say, being intelligent (high IQ) does not give you wisdom. In John's case, the teachers and professors (if he went to Uni) won the day.
@BetBryce that's what you said. So that's the reality. You need to do some research. Let go of the kindergarten "You're a Grand Ole Flag" mentality you haven't grown out of.
@Quashing Tub Wrong of course. It's much more than that, but hey, you have your opinion and your welcome to it as long as you sincerely believe it. I fear you don't.
He even twisted the words of Hakeem Jeffries by claiming five officers died on Jan. 6th, but that’s not true. Jeffries said, “As the result of these events on Jan. 6th, the lives of five heroic officers were lost.” I know it seemed like he said that, but let me give you an example. I had a grandmother who died SEVEN MONTHS ago. Even today, I feel sad for the loss I endured. The sadness I’m feeling right now is the RESULT of my grandmother’s death seven months ago. You see, one officer died of 2 strokes on Jan. 7th, and a stroke is caused by stress and emotional upset, which can be caused by the Capitol riot. Two other officers died of suicide days after enduring Jan. 6th, and other two officers died of suicide months after enduring Jan. 6th. The lives of these five officers were lost not on Jan. 6th, but AS A RESULT OF THE EVENTS ON THAT DAY. Words can be open to many interpretations, and Tucker Carlson is good at twisting someone’s words!
John should really do a part 2. I come from a family of Trump-loving conservatives, and whenever I go visit on the weekends they are watching Tucker Carlson. They absolutely love him. They always talk about how "smart" he is. He is straight up idolized. It's not just my parents (of course) but a lot of my friend's and their parents parents. I've seen my dad go from a regular conservative, to a full on paranoid, hateful, far right conservative due to watching Tucker Carlson. He is bringing millions to the far right.
I have a few relatives that think Tucker hangs the moon. I had to break it to them that he is just another spoiled rich kid. Lol! Tucker doesn't even believe the stuff he tells his viewers.
Tucker’s guide on how to manipulate stupid people: 1) Pose a leading and incendiary question they didn’t ask while telling them they’re asking it 2) Clearly indicate what the right and acceptable answer is, and only bad people think otherwise 3) Praise them for being so smart and good for asking that question and figuring out the answers for themselves
Exactly! Some of his followers actually have seminars that teach Tuckers methods to people. It is astounding how many people believe this guys b.s. as gospel truth.
1) lie to them 2) more lies to confuse the first lie 3) through conspiracy theories at anyone still around, and mislead till desired outrage creates division and has affiliated groups taking violent actions.
People in Baghdad (my ancestors) were writing poetry while listening to music wearing silk robes from china, surrounded by the best of fragrances the world had. With libraries bigger than European cities and mosques with minarets higher than medieval castle walls. And at the same exact time in Western Europe Tucker’s ancestors were shitting in the streets, burning “witches” and dropping dead from plagues.
17 million views on this video alone. That's big money for minimal effort. People don't have hbo just for John Oliver. They are very smart pitting this on KZclip. One of the reasons they put it here (after the money) he wanted everyone to have "free" access to the information they give and research they have done. Smartest and funniest talk show of our time.
"Can someone tell us in very clear language what a white supremacist is?" White is a skin color, Tucker, though it actually refers to a light tan. Supremacy means being better than others. "-ist" refers to a person who holds an ideology or belief. So, even though the word was self-defining, at least for those with a basic knowledge of English, here's what a white supremacist is, Tucker: A person who believes that people with light tan skin are better than others.
@Pine Forest The question is whether you are entitled to THIS nation; namely the United States of America. If you are not making that argument, you may be a white nationalist, but not one I care anything about.
I'm glad John Oliver did this segment. I feel strongly that we, as a diverse nation, must either rise together or we will fall apart. This "us versus them" mindset hurts the nation as a whole. Otherwise, we are trying to compete as a world-power with one hand tied behind our backs.
Every once and a while I will come back to watch this segment. It rings true for so many of the Fox Pundits and it makes me sad that a main stream media organization can broadcast this type of vitriol unabashedly.
The Tucker fans in my family were crushed when the Dominion law suit case brought out emails proving the Tucker doesn't believe the information that he tells his viewers. They switched to NewsMax already! Lol. That might be just as bad. Maybe this will cause them to use their own brain.
@The Fascistic North yeah, just like the far-left government backed media does in Canada. Must be difficult for you now…are you a fascist or a liberal? Ain’t much in it these days.
I loved your “ you relentless, indignant picket fence” comment…i had to hit pause so i could wipe my tears of laughter before i could continue listening
John is amazing, sadly though he's wrong and just another lefty. He does his diatribes without reference to real facts, because that would make him sound stupid. Great delivery I must admit.
It needs to be rerun. This week Tucker outdid himself. While the January 6th hearings were airing, Tucker did a 2 1/2 hour commercial free show where he did not air the hearings, just talked about them, and with no commercials he hoped that his audience would not switch over to see what was going on, especially when the texts from Fox News hosts pleading with Trump to call off the attack on Congress were displayed.
@Marie Callahan yep. That’s the line. That’s the best they could do apparently. “We all saw it on tv” and yeah that’s the point, there was tv they didn’t show. And it proves they’re corrupt and the whole thing is a lie, and you can also see that.
John Oliver has a gift of revealing the truth through humor but you must watch several times to catch all of the points in his presentations he hits so many so fast that it is difficult to absorb them all in one sitting
Jeffrey, it helps me to run him at .75 speed once he gets ripping. But that doesn't stop me from wanting to watch it again at regular speed. Regardless of any snide troll remarks, there is nothing wrong with watching such a well-done segment as this one, like you might revisit any artwork or song recording, for the sheer pleasure. Seriously, I lost count of how many times I enjoyed Randy Rainbow's "Trump's Favorite Things".
Because of his appearance and cultivated persona, I always forget, and am subsequently deeply disturbed when reminded, that Tucker Carlson is actually a fairly smart and manipulative person with an uncomfortably large _and attentive_ audience. The point that he's "actually incredibly consistent" in his messaging sort of speaks to this, and the points John Oliver makes about the clear progression of Carlson "learning" how to present his ideas from his first appearances to now. Listening to everything John Oliver says and knowing that it, at _very least_ in part, is very on purpose is pretty unnerving and certainly, as above, disturbing to watch.
This is the worst possible response, because we understand that the colonisation of America and genocide of native Americans was wrong, and so equating it to an open border immigration policy implies that immigration is wrong in precisely the same way. At *best* the only thing this line of arguing does is *affirm* that mass immigration *will* hurt the nation as it exists now, but that it's justified because the previous perpetrators are the present's victims. Equating immigration to colonialism isn't merely incorrect, but if it were it would advocate for a perpetual cycle of violence where "justice" is simply those who do harm being subject to the same crime they initially committed. Likewise, it provides ammunition for detractors with easy (and equally bad faith) rebuttals. "open border immigration is just like what happened to the native Americans, which was wrong, hence we are justified making sure what happened to them doesn't happen to us rather than just work against our own self interest and allow ourselves to be victimized because we deserve it".
Wow, just wow. John and his team do an incredible job making a valid point about Carlson. As always, Last Week Tonight's Team really dumbs it down to make the point obvious and easily digestible. Spot on awesome reporting.
Excellent, as usual. You should have seen how ex-president Bolsonaro and his inner circle bowed down to Tucker (and to Elon Musk, in a different occasion) when he came to Brazil. Tucker put on his best smile, and enjoyed the attention,. They belomng together! Congratulations on your deep, well grounded insights. Great research. My admiration!
kevin crider Do you even know what the word "theory" means in that context? In the context of science, it doesn't mean "wild, unsupported guess". So far, all the evidence points to Africa being the birthplace of homo sapiens and even the homo genus in general. It seems unlikely that a single species could have originated in places so far apart and still be genetically similar enough to reproduce, especially when boats and the domestication of horses, camels, etc. weren't things yet.
Tucker is very good at defining a subject from a perspective, that allow the ignorant, the undereducated, the alienated, the hateful, the racist, to unload their hatred onto people unlike themselves. Rather than having to work out an explanation for their failures in life!
Narcissists learn how to mimic sincerity by analyzing it step by step and then committing to the bit. They'll take anything sincere and twist it completely to fit themselves. The only defense is to actually pay attention to what's verifiable and what's speculation and who's actually sticking to the truth as it is rather than the one who's confirming every worst bias you have.
He made a entire segment because he fears what Tucker represents -- a representative of the white working class that doesn't apologize for being called racist, a white supremacist, ect ect, and openly calls you out and your corporate oligarch tech allies for being subhuman filth who hate white people and want us dead. Oddly enough, he has lower ratings then Tucker now.
@Chris Taylor No you can't watch HBO MAX and it doesn't matter if it is web based because you know: Geoblocker and VPN detectors. Believe me I have tried and HBO doesn't let me subscribe. But the good think is, that there are news about HBO becoming available here in Germany in summer. But I won't subscribe anyway xD
@lenka cfk I'm not an HBO salesperson are anything. Just curious more than anything. HBO Max is great, tho. And I never watch Last Week Tonight on it :)
For Tucker Carlson watch "The Lady and the Dale" episode with his father going after trans people. It was shocking. Liz Carmichael was a criminal and he was a journalist tracking a lead, but then he spent the rest of his life to "out" people in jobs like teachers and superintendents. And Tucker got all his "journalistic" skills for him.
Ugh some of my family members have become brainwashed by this idiot. His delivery, and the way he talks highlights the points he wants to stick with people. It’s highly effective to those that are weak minded, or scared of everything. I watched him a few times because I had to and I couldn’t even listen to him, he scares his audience and Fox News gives him a nice little studio to make the message seem benign.
@Kovacs Kovacs What video did you see where Blake "fought with police"? He was literally walking away from the police when he was shot in the back. Maybe you need to watch the video again.
Yeah that's the dangerous part of his formula, he always starts with something of a kernel of truth and then keeps twisting it like Enron twisted their counting.
Actually you are giving him more attention than he has: he's well known in the USA but people like me watch your show from Europe and I learned about him thanks to you... 😆
And the fact you're not embarrassed about that is hilarious. Johhny Appleseed Oliver is the pitbull of rabid hatred and division as he demonstrated in this video
I live at the other side of the world and I feel like dying everytime I think about wanting to go to America and then remember people like this exists and all the issuse he talks about.
Not Sure I'm not emotional, I just find it funny that you know nothing about what you speak and are not open to new or different ideas. You are a true republican. You don't know that it's evil because it's never been tried. That's the point. There is one corporation in the western united states that operates on socialist principles and that is it. Perhaps you should take the time to research and learn how the people there feel about the concept. Perhaps you should research and educate yourself in general. Start your attempt at education with the topic of slavery as you have repeatedly insulted every enslaved persons who has ever existed. It is immoral to compare a theoretical form of governance with an actual crime that has been committed against actual human beings. Know that.
Not Sure Surely that opinion is on a Tucker level, because every "civilized" country in the world has "free" health care except the USA . Let me explain. It is just in the same way that you have "free" police and army and schools. Do you see it now? I it must be obvious also that you aren't a christian.
This video should be shown in schools to help kids learn about critical thinking. The large audience size of Tucker Carlson's show tells me that we need to better educate our population.
Absolutely key. Better education and I would add that more people in this country must be encouraged to register and vote in their state. Too many unqualified politicians are being elected to office due to low voter turn out.
I like the "those people aren't animals, they are people so they can't be trained" being used as a tool to exploit the fact humans are animals, and as a treat for training those same people. "Hey, those other guys are actually insulting you, but not me, I say nice things about you, so you should definitely listen to me and do as I say". And it fucking works!
In 1976, Carlson's parents divorced after their nine-year marriage reportedly "turned sour". Carlson's father was granted custody of Tucker and his brother. Carlson's mother left the family when he was six, wanting to pursue a "bohemian" lifestyle. This EXPLAINS IT ALL, doesn't it?
@Vigilant Citizen 1. That's why I said “paraphrasing”. 2. How are my words meaningfully different from the originals? 3. This “opinion show” doesn't have the word “opinion” on the screen during it. It does have the word “NEWS” on the screen though. 4. You can't hide behind “opinion” when you're explicitly presenting lies as facts. You can't say, _“It is a fact that...”_ is an opinion.
John, I love your show and think you do perform a valuable service to our country as you shine light on important social issues from a liberal perspective. I do not watch Fox News or Tucker Carlson, but I do occasionally come across Tucker's presentations in other venues when he updates our society about new and important happenings within the UFO/UAP "Disclosure" movement that is presently in progress. For me, this aspect of Tucker's work is extremely valuable. With this topic he comes across as being engaged and serious about the subject - and it is a serious subject that has been actively covered up for almost 8 decades. My fear is Tucker will eventually become a mouthpiece for the military-industrial complex that will want to go to war with "the aliens", whoever they are and wherever they are coming from. Those of us who keep up with the subject know this will be a mistaken strategy to follow. Our society will need a dissenting voice to counter what will almost certainly become the military's newest narrative promoting ill-advised aggression. I would love to speak with you more about this, or you might consider contacting UFO historian Richard Dolan for a crash-course on the subject of UFOs.
i think while it is a 'white' thing - tucker frames it up more as a rural vs urban thing. everything urban == bad, everything rural = good. its a much broader and effective way to be a racist and frankly it wields more power from a political point of view.
Yes! This also somehow manages to happen on the far left too (to be clear, I am probably considered far left). A lot of perpetually online white communists use the same talking points of “it’s not about race it’s about class” when it is very much about both, and you cannot address one without the other.
Given that Tucker constantly has a facial expression of either "I'm shocked and confused you would say that", or "I'm just considerably angry", It would be appropriate if they replaced Obi Wan Kenobi's face with his in the visible confusion meme.
“The befuddled face of a 13th century farmer learning about bitcoin.” A perfect (and highly “Oliverian”) description of Tucker Carlson’s phony innocence.
Oh the irony. Tucker says his show is nothing but the truth whereas FOX in court has argued that "no intelligent person would actually believe Tucker Carlson".
You'd think FOX would at least get their own script of public talking points ironed out. What they say on SCREEN does not compare favorably to what they said in COURT.
@Cole Pratt you getting owned in this thread and im laughing at how much time you spent typing out your long winded, nitpicky, circular responses in a futile attempt to defend the honor of your hero tucker. It's been established that Tucker is fake news in court. Hurts doesnt it? 😉
Our founding fathers believed we needed to be an informed electorate. In Jon Meacham’s Soul of America (A book & HBO documentary) he argues that we need to spend more time reading history books and less time on our devices because social media and cable news will make us passionate and angry but not very well informed. For those interested in learning about our History, Race, Voting and Politics consider the following:
Open Yale Courses - available free on their website, KZclip and Podcasts - an entire semesters worth of classes with classes in several subjects like Political Philosophy and U.S. History (The American Revolution with Joanne Freeman and Civil War and Reconstruction with David Blight.)
Voting Related - An author of many books and an authority on Voting, Voter Suppression and African American History is Carol Anderson. Her podcast "Emory The Hidden History of the Quest for Civil Rights is rich and very interesting. Our Shared History - Reed College has a Podcast called "Black History Month" from 2009 that has an all-star cast of Historians and Civil Rights Activists that is wonderfully poignant, interesting and necessary for us all. The podcast, Black History For White People, with an outstanding list of guest speakers covering everything you could imagine related to our shared past, is remarkably good.
Critical Race Theory - for those who are skeptical but curious check out first the KZclip videos shared by 11Alive called “Parents skeptical of critical Race Theory, one of which includes Carol Anderson (see Voting Related). For those that want to have Critical Race Theory explained further and listen to very informative conversation related to CRT check out the Podcast, Intersectionality Matters! with Kimberle’ Crenshaw.
Polarization & Divisiveness The following have written very good books related to this: Heather McGhee, Lilliana Mason and Cornel West. Hour long, substantive interviews with all of these authors can be found on KZclip and C-Span. I posted this in honor of the victims of the shooting at Tops Supermarket in Buffalo, the fine people living in Buffalo's East Side and those striving to make a positive difference at the Fruit Belt Community Land Trust
@Ryan Statt Anytime I hear on the news that something terrible has happened at an elementary school wherein a child (or children) happens to have been either injured or killed I grieve. The first time I cried over the deaths and injuries of young children is when I heard that twenty innocent children were murdered by a deranged madman at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012. Just a few months after the tragedy in Newtown; I again grieved when I heard that seven children lost their lives at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, Oklahoma following a violent and destructive EF5 tornado that tore through Moore on May 20, 2013. After the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas I was reminded of a witty but painfully accurate observation on school shootings and school violence by funeral director and KZclip user Caitlin Doughty; who is known through her KZclip channel Ask A Mortician: school shootings are as American as hamburgers, hot dogs, apple pie, baseball and Boston Terriers.
Truth Rising There's a reason Republicans and Conservatives have to have tight nit communities on the internet. If Leftists entered the Conservative safe space that bubble would burst. Liberals are smarter than the entire right-wing combined. And I'm not even a Lib, I'm a lefty.
15:52 Your fork fact is also a good example of how no matter how good and useful and civilized something is, some people will always be moralizing about how it's going to ruin society.
What I find most enjoyable about this piece in hindsight is the utter lack of response Carlson had to it. Even if you search directly on Fox, they never mention this episode. Imo it’s because they don’t want to draw attention to it. This isn’t just a 8 second soundbite that quoted, rebuked, and dismissed, but a 20 min discourse with concrete, specific examples over a wide range of years.
I just realized: If you think of a "tiny cabal of politicians" or maybe a swamp to drain.... maybe just abolish the nonsense with the two parties and thus force them to sometimes not take people from "the cabal"
@C Quiznos You're replying to a comment I made over a year ago, which I don't even remember writing. And I'm sure as hell not going to sift through 160 comments to find it. How does that make you feel?
Seth Meyers mimics Tucker's whiney tone and questioning style to such perfection that now just hearing a clip of Tucker sends me into peals of laughter!!!
God, I remember the moment Jon Stewart went on Crossfire and told Tucker, “You’re not just bad. You’re actually hurting America. Please, stop. Just stop.” Look it up on KZclip.
@Jake Kaywell I spent most my life being a liberal democrat. you get older and start thinking for yourself instead of what your peers will accept. also, you prioritize the preservation of your country and your people over your feelings. it's an awakening.
Fun fact: Tucker Carlson, "the working-class hero", is an heir to the Swanson Frozen Foods fortune, worth more than a billion dollars.
I think some describe Carlson as a "white supremacist hero"
Who said he was a working class hero?
And Golfie Drumpf of course. His dad ran an extremely successful brothel.
Just like Musk. His parents became rich over the back of black people. Gold and diamonds.
Alot of right wing talk show hosts are rich kids.
John once referred to Tucker as “the human equivalent of a blood spattered boat shoe found at the scene of a hazing death” in case you forgot that he’s both a comedian and a poet.
I don't think Tucker has worn a bow tie since John Stewart roasted him about it on that legendary Crossfire appearance lmao
John is brilliant at talking/reading; but living proof that as I always say, being intelligent (high IQ) does not give you wisdom. In John's case, the teachers and professors (if he went to Uni) won the day.
TO william G -- that just proves John is not very wise. He may be brilliant, but a high IQ is not the same as wisdom.
It’s rather telling that he hears: “Dismantle the system of oppression” and thinks “dismantle the American system of Government.”
@BetBryce that's what you said. So that's the reality.
You need to do some research. Let go of the kindergarten "You're a Grand Ole Flag" mentality you haven't grown out of.

It happened to my family too and it’s sickening and heartbreaking. I hope we learn more from Dominion v. Fox about how evil he really is.
@Gusdangerous Lapingamane Can't handle the truth
Tucker’s guide on how to manipulate stupid people:
1) Pose a leading and incendiary question they didn’t ask while telling them they’re asking it

John Oliver’s guide on how to manipulate other stupid people is to oppose everything Tucker Carlson says
When you know that you ain't the smartest person , stay far away from tucker
You hit the nail on the head, I believe that is exactly what he is doing and sadly is doing it well.
People in Baghdad (my ancestors) were writing poetry while listening to music wearing silk robes from china, surrounded by the best of fragrances the world had. @Ūnsre Scyldas Created by Greeks
Now its the other way around. Who would have thunk it.
It never fails to amaze me that John basically puts his whole show on KZclip. Especially when it’s on hbo!
I would be proud of using his show as a source for any college essay.

Welp time to finally give this video what deserves. A like. Cannot believe I was willfully blind to Tucker, what an absolute snake.
Glad to hear you've put him behind you!
These kinds of comments always make me smile. I was there too at some point. Glad you made it out.
@Isabelle Vasquez I wouldnt even say left leaning politics, but just sane politics lol.
@Ūnsre Scyldas only for people who aren't capable of critical thinking.
"Can someone tell us in very clear language what a white supremacist is?"

@Roberta Powell What.
@Mythraen I know
@Roberta Powell "The U.S. is fifty different states united by"
I missed the part where that has anything to do with anything I have said.
@Mythraen Except for conartist. I think.
I'm glad John Oliver did this segment. I feel strongly that we, as a diverse nation, must either rise together or we will fall apart. This "us versus them" mindset hurts the nation as a whole. Otherwise, we are trying to compete as a world-power with one hand tied behind our backs.
As someone with a dad who's a fan of Tucker Carlson, I am deeply disturbed at what goes on in his mind.
@magnus granskau Anyone with any morals or empathy won’t. Don’t worry.
You"ll become just like your dad when you get older. You just wont see it coming
Show this to your dad.
Get off Reddit bro
I'll never get tired of John dunking on Tucker Carlson.
I'm disappointed John left out that Iraq had a higher literacy rating than some US states prior to the war.
according to who , the isis info line !
@Alfredo u for both men and female both right?
But to be fair, there are zoos with higher literacy rates than West Virginia.
really well put together segment. hits the nail on the head with regards to how dangerous carlson’s show is.
Every once and a while I will come back to watch this segment. It rings true for so many of the Fox Pundits and it makes me sad that a main stream media organization can broadcast this type of vitriol unabashedly.
@The Fascistic North I hope this is sarcasm!
The Tucker fans in my family were crushed when the Dominion law suit case brought out emails proving the Tucker doesn't believe the information that he tells his viewers. They switched to NewsMax already! Lol. That might be just as bad. Maybe this will cause them to use their own brain.
@The Fascistic North Are you being funny? some times I can't tell
@The Fascistic North yeah, just like the far-left government backed media does in Canada. Must be difficult for you now…are you a fascist or a liberal? Ain’t much in it these days.
YES!! THEY SHOULD BE CENSORED IMMEDIATELY
I loved your “ you relentless, indignant picket fence” comment…i had to hit pause so i could wipe my tears of laughter before i could continue listening
“What about performatively outraged wedge salad”?!
John is amazing, sadly though he's wrong and just another lefty. He does his diatribes without reference to real facts, because that would make him sound stupid. Great delivery I must admit.

What did you see in real time on live TV during the Jan 6 Insurrection? It wasn't strolling tourists.
@Patrick W. Dunne oh. You haven’t been paying attention. I could have guessed. Lol
@Wypipo it aged like fine wine.
This has not aged well, huh?
Charming, funny and educational. Love it! Thanks Jon ☺️
Every name in Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson is a last name. He's literally the antithesis of John William Oliver.
Or Ricky Bobby
heavy
@Isaac Mayer whats wrong with his last name everyone says?
what does his last name even mean? why is it a topic of debate?
LOL
Tuckers facial expression always emulates a person that must drop a deuce in less than 5 seconds and has nowhere to go.
If you have to watch it more than once, you are exactly his target. Well done.
This particular segment was a masterpiece in transparency. Thank you.
Failing upwards is an amazing term, and one that seems to perfectly encapsulate the GOP's strategy as a whole.
Tucker: "Unregulated mass immigration has badly hurt this nations natural landscape."
*Native americans has entered the conversation.*
fesgrerhhr
@MegaMementoMori shoulda had more guns. notice how now they have guns... they learned.
“I can not stress this enough - LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!!”
I laughed hard at this one. 🤣😂🤣😂
i never realized that clip was tucker!
@SHA ratio
cuz its lame
Wow, just wow. John and his team do an incredible job making a valid point about Carlson. As always, Last Week Tonight's Team really dumbs it down to make the point obvious and easily digestible. Spot on awesome reporting.
Excellent, as usual. You should have seen how ex-president Bolsonaro and his inner circle bowed down to Tucker (and to Elon Musk, in a different occasion) when he came to Brazil. Tucker put on his best smile, and enjoyed the attention,. They belomng together! Congratulations on your deep, well grounded insights. Great research. My admiration!
Tucker would have a heart attack if he learned that the earliest humans came from Africa.
@ßussin ßussin on gawd! Turkey?
Can we let him know now?! 😂😭💀
kevin crider Do you even know what the word "theory" means in that context? In the context of science, it doesn't mean "wild, unsupported guess". So far, all the evidence points to Africa being the birthplace of homo sapiens and even the homo genus in general.
It seems unlikely that a single species could have originated in places so far apart and still be genetically similar enough to reproduce, especially when boats and the domestication of horses, camels, etc. weren't things yet.
Tucker inadvertently claiming that his show functions by child labor is hilarious in more ways than one
Like how she said "system of oppression" and he immediately said "american system of government" lmao
@Joe Plumley Seems to have worked pretty well on you, bucko.
We need an episode 2 for Tucker Carlson given recent events
We need it now that he is misleading the public about January 6th and, more importantly, simped for the green M&M
@Boris slavonovitche No, just an honest answer. This is non-negotiable. Quit defending trash
@Plush Peddling the "great replacement theory" which is just the white replacement theory revised for a general audience
Good on you John good on you for speaking out
17:24 - Tucker is actually accurately explaining the behaviour of elite capitalists.
I was thinking the same thing! It even implies to himself.
@TaiwaneseBoi I'm not antisemitic.
@denelson83 I know how to hear dogwhistles
@Donovan Locust Thank you for the wonderful example of how to out yourself as anti-semitic
Tucker is very good at defining a subject from a perspective, that allow the ignorant, the undereducated, the alienated, the hateful, the racist, to unload their hatred onto people unlike themselves. Rather than having to work out an explanation for their failures in life!
Any time he cracks a joke my brain outdo plays a crowd laughing
I will never forget when John described Tucker as 'as if the sound 'Thud' grew a body'.
If you happen to recall when that was, do share. I need to either hear it again or watch it for the first time
Tucker is the best show on TV
@Nicholas Nugen o be jjoio o ooo jonojon
If a soggy bean had a human persona
Whoever had to watch all of Tucker’s ever broadcasted video to make this show has all my sympathy. I can’t imagine a less painful task to accomplish
Really great summary of Tucker Carlson.
Concise. Digs deep. Required viewing. Thank you again, John.
Incredible work as always
Things no one should ever want: an entire John Oliver segment on your life.
@Ohlala really?! That's super surprising to me. I can't fathom what HBO has to gain by not allowing non-US residents to subscribe.
Brilliantly done, John 👏
As always 👌
I want you to do another episode of him after all this revelation about him and fox news
Oliver is actually funnier without an audience.
FOX News has literally argued in court that Tucker Carlson shouldn't be taken seriously.
Andrew S and just because one person did the same thing doesn't mean fucker over her is some how magically exempt from it
@Kovacs Kovacs What video did you see where Blake "fought with police"? He was literally walking away from the police when he was shot in the back. Maybe you need to watch the video again.
Carlson starts by taking a fact out of context, then goes on a semi-logical righteous rant that sounds good and takes viewers down his rabbit hole.
Yeah that's the dangerous part of his formula, he always starts with something of a kernel of truth and then keeps twisting it like Enron twisted their counting.
Hell, he sometimes doesn't even state a complete fact before falling into his own rabbit holes.
I think I had an 80 year old professor who wore a bow tie like that. I love how he mentions paying taxes to help other people.
I live at the other side of the world and I feel like dying everytime I think about wanting to go to America and then remember people like this exists and all the issuse he talks about.
Man I love this show and the fact that it’s on youtube!
Someone: "Everyone in this country NEEDS free healthcare"
Tucker: "See? They clearly hate the well-being of the people living in this country"
Know that.
Not Sure "God helps those that help themselves." Show me where that is in the Bible.
Not Sure Surely that opinion is on a Tucker level, because every "civilized" country in the world has "free" health care except the USA . Let me explain. It is just in the same way that you have "free" police and army and schools. Do you see it now? I it must be obvious also that you aren't a christian.
@8jij Joo so the minorities aren't part of everyone? Are they sub human?
You probably gave him a lot more fans by clarifying all this for them 😂
Thank you for being so real and so amazing and I hope you show goes on for my life time at least
Tucker was defended in court with, paraphrasing:
_“No person in their right mind would believe Tucker Carlson.”_
Qanon belives him.
@Vigilant Citizen 1. That's why I said “paraphrasing”.
@Stick of Butter whataboutism.
You’re amazing, John Oliver! Keep it up!
Me, on an eatable, watching this episode alone a year after it came out. "That IS a Very fun Fork Fact! Thank You John Oliver!"
Tucker Carlson is a blight on the human race. A sign of our looming end no doubt. We deserve this.
Bloody brilliant as usual. Your fantastic
You just know Tucker Carlson is gonna bring this up on his show.
@Adriel Sebastian then his fans be thanking their lord for the greatest "journalist" in the history of mankind 🤣
@Tommaso Cimmino where you from? im also italian
@Ellicess pp
@Adriel Sebastian Or at least that the people around you can't.
My cat jolted awake and looked around when the violin hook from Toxic came on and I died with laughter 😂
i think while it is a 'white' thing - tucker frames it up more as a rural vs urban thing. everything urban == bad, everything rural = good. its a much broader and effective way to be a racist and frankly it wields more power from a political point of view.
Yes! This also somehow manages to happen on the far left too (to be clear, I am probably considered far left). A lot of perpetually online white communists use the same talking points of “it’s not about race it’s about class” when it is very much about both, and you cannot address one without the other.
That initial joke about the name Tucker really tickled me, more than it probably should have
Given that Tucker constantly has a facial expression of either "I'm shocked and confused you would say that", or "I'm just considerably angry", It would be appropriate if they replaced Obi Wan Kenobi's face with his in the visible confusion meme.
Love it! Had to revisit this classic!
“The befuddled face of a 13th century farmer learning about bitcoin.” A perfect (and highly “Oliverian”) description of Tucker Carlson’s phony innocence.
All sad comments. This is so sad. All the comments are just insults and out of context digs and assumptions.
innane ramblings .... did you squeeky ?
Tryttyyytyyuty
Every time Tucker Carlson's face appears, it should be accompanied by the caption "MOMMY DIDN'T LOVE ME!"
Tucker Carlson is basically Homelander but somehow more infuriating and less likable which I didn't think was possible
Its scary that a TV anchor has reached the level of a celebrity and potential presidential candidate.
Almost as scary as a failed businessman. Failed, over and over and over again...
Someone needs to create a villain based on Tucker.
I love that America has so many people that are so easy to hate.
Tucker is hilarious. I haven't seen that much self satisfaction and Dunning-Krueger effect since Bill Buckley.
Are you the same people that still think CNN or MSNBC is real news? Lol.
@Justin Amos I didn’t get “owned” lmao you can look at the report yourself. Just because I’m in the minority doesn’t mean I’m wrong
Polarization & Divisiveness
The following have written very good books related to this: Heather McGhee, Lilliana Mason and Cornel West.
He is actually able to whine with his face.
Quite brilliant,as usual. He obviously grew up with Python.
Had to rewatch this one after today's events in Buffalo..
Stay safe everyone ☮❤
Or Texas today...
I think we need a TC part 2
RIP to the brain of the person who had to go trough all that tucker "content" to create this episode i hope they gave you a serious raise
👊🔥✌🗽
Truth Rising There's a reason Republicans and Conservatives have to have tight nit communities on the internet. If Leftists entered the Conservative safe space that bubble would burst.
Liberals are smarter than the entire right-wing combined. And I'm not even a Lib, I'm a lefty.
I think you should revisit this show John. Right down to #FREEBRITNEY
15:52 Your fork fact is also a good example of how no matter how good and useful and civilized something is, some people will always be moralizing about how it's going to ruin society.
I would like to know how many spin writers it takes to write his script every day.
Tucker Carlson is the embodiment of any sentence that starts with: "I'm not racist, but..."
and like your not an idiot but .... same as huh!
@C Quiznos You're replying to a comment I made over a year ago, which I don't even remember writing. And I'm sure as hell not going to sift through 160 comments to find it. How does that make you feel?
@MisterCovek you are describing Tuckers show to a t. How did it feel to prove your own point about Tucker?
Spot on, thanks Mr. Oliver!
There’s a few times when tucker gets so close to the truth then does a total 180 and makes it racist
Seth Meyers mimics Tucker's whiney tone and questioning style to such perfection that now just hearing a clip of Tucker sends me into peals of laughter!!!
"You relentlessly indignant picket fence!" Holy shit that's GOLD
Every American needs to see this video.
God, I remember the moment Jon Stewart went on Crossfire and told Tucker, “You’re not just bad. You’re actually hurting America. Please, stop. Just stop.” Look it up on KZclip.
@Marcos Sorry I misunderstood you. Thanks for the compliment!
@Sheldon Leahy I was giving you props on such a well-articulated response. It was both succinct and incisive.
@Marcos sorry haha I’m a bit confused by your comment.
@FreemanThis is your rebuke to Sheldon's astute summation of a topic we're all discussing? That's disappointing.
@Sheldon Leahy You better work, boo! Good job!
He said today that the only person to die on 1/6 was a defenseless war hero and painted the officer in a horrible light
my parents watch fox news pretty much all the time and anytime i disagree with them on any issue they say i’m brainwashed..
@Jake Kaywell I spent most my life being a liberal democrat. you get older and start thinking for yourself instead of what your peers will accept. also, you prioritize the preservation of your country and your people over your feelings. it's an awakening.
@Pedro Takahashi Gunderson Jr. You've been brainwashed as well. If you think I'm wrong in this, you've already proven my point.
your parents are right. one day it will likely click for you.
@Faye my family yells at the tv for different reasons lol sportball games
My parents watch fox but for different reasons, they just like arguing with the TV lol
It was so meta when I heard that one bit in the show for enjoyment, and a second time to hear that verbalization again.
