As a reminder… Ashlee made Emmett that amazing dinner with a clean house, when she was only 6 weeks postpartum with her fifth baby, all because she sensed that HE might be struggling with something, setting every single need of her own aside just to show him she loved him. She was the perfect wife by every definition, and he threw it all away for nothing. So many cautionary tales in this tragedy.

Ashley is absolutely gorgeous. Has 5 kids and still looks that amazing? She didn’t deserve any of this. She was there for him even when he didn’t deserve it and made that whole dinner, cleaned the house all to make him feel special because he was pulling away. She is so selfless and deserves nothing but the best. So happy she’s remarried with a huge family now. I hope she’s doing well and thriving.

Instead of focusing on Dr. P, I'll concur that Candy is a POS. She sided w/ her husband during the trial because she didn't have Emmett anymore. But what really sticks out to me is the embezzlement and lack of apology to Ashley. Candy is a selfish and disgusting excuse of a human being.
Emmett was a dirtbag, having his cake and eating it too, but he didn't deserve to die. Ashlee is such a strong person and I'm glad she remarried and wish her and her family the best.

This is why I’m so fearful of dropping my career to focus on kids. He was able to work, get money, and go out while Ashlee was stuck at home alone with several children. I’m glad the killer got the right person

If you go to her blog you'll see pictures of her and her new husband and the entire 7 kids. She literally looks like she could be the kids' sister. The woman has been through so much, but she sure kept good care of her skin through it all😊

This story is heartbreaking and every time I hear it I have a surge of panic. I can’t even begin to imagine the betrayal and infuriating unfairness endured by Ashlee and her children. I’m glad she feels peace through her faith, and I love that she continues to advocate and support others with endless empathy.

While I don't think Candy is a good or even decent person, Emmet is actually the one who is willing to abandon his five children and break apart his own family. I'm not sure why everyone is pointing fingers at Candy as a home wrecker. Emmet is wrecking Candy's family just the same. Candy is not responsible for her husband's or Emmet's behavior. They were planning to file a divorce. Sure it's sad to see someone fall out of love while the other person is still fully committed, but that happens and that's no one's fault.
I work at a Walgreens and I can say that if something like this were to happen at my store I don’t think I would be surprised. We see a lot of strange things. I wish we did have security cameras outside of our store to actually be able to help in cases like this.
Ashley is so strong. She had to deal with multiple types of grief... grief of her husband's death, grief of his infidelity, and grief for her kids losing their father. Then she had to suffer the embarrassment of people knowing her husband died cheating and fighting for another woman. I cannot imagine what this woman went through. And then to confront her husband's affair partner with such grace and articulation of her feelings....women like her are awe inspiring. I wish her a world of happiness and healing for her and her children.

If Candy wasn't already a piece of trash for cheating on her husband, and taking part in ruining a family, to come on Dr. Phil and not even act like she was sorry. I'm glad that Ashley has found love again and has moved on. She is clearly 1000% a better woman than Candy. This may sound harsh, but I'm guessing the "sorry" she hoped for from Emmett wasn't coming either. They had both cheated behind Ashley's back, planned on going to a divorce attorney without so much as a chance at repairing the marriage. He didn't even show up for marriage counseling. He may not have been like that when they met, but he sure started to act like a P.O.S. I'm sure if Emmett had lived, Candy and him would have rubbed their relationship in Ashley's face and flaunted themselves all over town and social media. These situations are just disgusting and I'm really sorry that Ashley had to deal with it at all.

Candy was sending Ashlee gifts for Ashlees kids out of puure guilt and then she sits there at Dr.Phils like she's the one going through pain is just ridiculous. Emmett was obviously wanting the cherry on top from both of the world's and then got was inevitable.
Every time I watch something about this story and see photos of him his eyes always make me feel like he was also on drugs. I’m always so sad for her, I cannot imagine. She deserved better and I’m low key happy for her that she gets a chance at a new life and new love.

No you're not the only one who doesn't feel bad for the victim. My first thought was "good riddance". But I do feel bad for the pain that Ashley and her children had to go through. Then again the way I look at it is that Rob may have been inadvertently saving Ashley's life bc who knows what Emmett was capable of if he had so little regard for the mother of his 5 children, even while she was carrying the 5th one. I can't help but hope Rob gets that parole in 2028.

I remember reading about this case back when it happened. Honestly, even now, I think Emmett was a major POS. He didn’t deserve to die, but I can’t bring myself to feel bad for any pain or fear he felt in his last few moments. I feel so much anger towards cheaters, especially when theres kids involved. The same goes for Kandi. She seems like a miserable human being and she deserves it. The only people I feel bad for are Ashlee and her kids, as well as Emmett’s family. I was so relieved to find out she remarried when I looked into her again last year. Her and her children deserve all the happiness and healing they can get.
It breaks my heart that Ashley believed that Emmett would have apologized and made things right with her. When Candy said that they both were going to file for divorce from their spouses. We'll never know the truth. 💔

hearing this from the perspective of the twins old friend is really cool. i have followed ashlee’s blog for several years now and i didn’t even know the extent of her story; just from the perspective of her being the mom to my school friends. it is so cool to see how she has changed her life around while also uplifting others. her and her family are so strong
I think we are beyond words to describe this woman’s tournament from her husband, candy, candy husband and im so disgusted that dr Phil thought that this was ok to use it to his own advantage. She’s an incredible woman and the way the father acted toward his own family who loved him unconditionally is unforgivable. Im not gonna talk about those two who ruined so many lives but instead give this mother the praise and light she deserves. Those kids are so blessed to have a mother that can show strength and love through anything and come out doing better for herself.
Can't believe Rob was going to take his own life too. His teenage daughter probably would have blamed herself for the rest of her life because she was the one to make the call to Rob and told him the store her mother and Emmett were at. I feel bad for all of the kids in this situation.

Honestly any sympathy I could have for Emmet flew out the window the moment he saw his devoted, loving wife cooked a huge dinner so they could have a good time together discussing how to fix their marriage and he couldn't be bothered to at least eat with her because all he had in mind was to go to Walgreens to meet that greasy mayonaise bag of a woman and get his jollies off with her. Too bad he died before seeing his mistress run towards her husband instead of him after the shooting, to see how much he actually meant to her

Whoa. This case hits home for me! There’s a chiropractor in my family, me and my family attended USU, my family is in the same church, we share names with this family, and I have a friend from Boise who looks just like Ashley! Such a sad tragedy and wish Ashley and her family the best.

I actually dealt with something similar. My boyfriend drowned in a freak accident in 2016 & right before his funeral I found out that he had been cheating on me. The grief is so chaotic when you’re both grieving the loss of who you thought was your life partner, but you’re also so hurt & betrayed. I’m so glad Ashley found love again & I pray he’s good to her. 🖤
My sil just went through that in 2022 he passed in a horrible motorcycle wreck but was on his way to another girl it sucks so much to learn everything after the fact
I remember this case. I'm glad to see that Ashlee has been able to move forward, heal, and find love again. I can't believe so many people still have affairs, knowing that they often end in someone losing their life. It's $hitty enough to cheat on your spouse, and it's so not worth all the destruction that comes along with it.
We were neighbors, went to the same Church, I heard the shots that night. I have always feel so sad about the victims in this case, including Candy's husband, he ruined his life as well for a woman so worthless, she exploited her looks and lack of decency and destroyed his life. I worked with this woman's life insurance agent at the time this happened. I have never been happier to give someone a life insurance payout! I'm so glad her and her kiddos ended up alright and she is so strong!

As an employee with a top financial institution for the last decade, compliance surrounding privacy laws are assigned on a quarterly basis to keep us sharp. When you are dealing with people's finances, absolutely nothing should ever be shared. Even if it's public information, employees are not at liberty to share anything. It would not be hard to narrow down her insurance company and I for one, would not give them my business knowing how easily their staff is willing to talk.

Ashley is the only real victim here. I am glad she is ok. No one deserves death for cheating but Ashley was the only person here with morals. My ex betrayed me too, humiliated me by doing stuff behind my back and at our home that broke me but I walked away from all of it. I hope more people would do the same instead of ruining their life over people that are not worth it.

Instead of focusing on Dr. P, I'll concur that Candy is a POS. She sided w/ her husband during the trial because she didn't have Emmett anymore. But what really sticks out to me is the embezzlement and lack of apology to Ashley. Candy is a selfish and disgusting excuse of a human being.

While I don't think Candy is a good or even decent person, Emmet is actually the one who is willing to abandon his five children and break apart his own family. I'm not sure why everyone is pointing fingers at Candy as a home wrecker. Emmet is wrecking Candy's family just the same. Candy is not responsible for her husband's or Emmet's behavior. They were planning to file a divorce. Sure it's sad to see someone fall out of love while the other person is still fully committed, but that happens and that's no one's fault.
I work at a Walgreens and I can say that if something like this were to happen at my store I don’t think I would be surprised. We see a lot of strange things. I wish we did have security cameras outside of our store to actually be able to help in cases like this.

Ashley is so strong. She had to deal with multiple types of grief... grief of her husband's death, grief of his infidelity, and grief for her kids losing their father. Then she had to suffer the embarrassment of people knowing her husband died cheating and fighting for another woman. I cannot imagine what this woman went through. And then to confront her husband's affair partner with such grace and articulation of her feelings....women like her are awe inspiring. I wish her a world of happiness and healing for her and her children.

If Candy wasn't already a piece of trash for cheating on her husband, and taking part in ruining a family, to come on Dr. Phil and not even act like she was sorry. I'm glad that Ashley has found love again and has moved on. She is clearly 1000% a better woman than Candy. This may sound harsh, but I'm guessing the "sorry" she hoped for from Emmett wasn't coming either. They had both cheated behind Ashley's back, planned on going to a divorce attorney without so much as a chance at repairing the marriage. He didn't even show up for marriage counseling. He may not have been like that when they met, but he sure started to act like a P.O.S. I'm sure if Emmett had lived, Candy and him would have rubbed their relationship in Ashley's face and flaunted themselves all over town and social media. These situations are just disgusting and I'm really sorry that Ashley had to deal with it at all.

Then again the way I look at it is that Rob may have been inadvertently saving Ashley's life bc who knows what Emmett was capable of if he had so little regard for the mother of his 5 children, even while she was carrying the 5th one. I can't help but hope Rob gets that parole in 2028.

I remember reading about this case back when it happened. Honestly, even now, I think Emmett was a major POS. He didn’t deserve to die, but I can’t bring myself to feel bad for any pain or fear he felt in his last few moments. I feel so much anger towards cheaters, especially when theres kids involved. The same goes for Kandi. She seems like a miserable human being and she deserves it.
The only people I feel bad for are Ashlee and her kids, as well as Emmett’s family. I was so relieved to find out she remarried when I looked into her again last year. Her and her children deserve all the happiness and healing they can get.
It breaks my heart that Ashley believed that Emmett would have apologized and made things right with her. When Candy said that they both were going to file for divorce from their spouses. We'll never know the truth. 💔

hearing this from the perspective of the twins old friend is really cool. i have followed ashlee’s blog for several years now and i didn’t even know the extent of her story; just from the perspective of her being the mom to my school friends. it is so cool to see how she has changed her life around while also uplifting others. her and her family are so strong
I think we are beyond words to describe this woman’s tournament from her husband, candy, candy husband and im so disgusted that dr Phil thought that this was ok to use it to his own advantage. She’s an incredible woman and the way the father acted toward his own family who loved him unconditionally is unforgivable. Im not gonna talk about those two who ruined so many lives but instead give this mother the praise and light she deserves. Those kids are so blessed to have a mother that can show strength and love through anything and come out doing better for herself.
Can't believe Rob was going to take his own life too. His teenage daughter probably would have blamed herself for the rest of her life because she was the one to make the call to Rob and told him the store her mother and Emmett were at.

Whoa. This case hits home for me! There’s a chiropractor in my family, me and my family attended USU, my family is in the same church, we share names with this family, and I have a friend from Boise who looks just like Ashley! Such a sad tragedy and wish Ashley and her family the best.

I actually dealt with something similar. My boyfriend drowned in a freak accident in 2016 & right before his funeral I found out that he had been cheating on me. The grief is so chaotic when you’re both grieving the loss of who you thought was your life partner, but you’re also so hurt & betrayed.

My sil just went through that in 2022 he passed in a horrible motorcycle wreck but was on his way to another girl it sucks so much to learn everything after the fact

I remember this case. I'm glad to see that Ashlee has been able to move forward, heal, and find love again. I can't believe so many people still have affairs, knowing that they often end in someone losing their life. It's $hitty enough to cheat on your spouse, and it's so not worth all the destruction that comes along with it.

I have always feel so sad about the victims in this case, including Candy's husband, he ruined his life as well for a woman so worthless, she exploited her looks and lack of decency and destroyed his life. Emmett had cheating on his mind, if it wasn't this POS it would have been another...
and in the end emmett *chose* to cheat with a woman like her

I have a hard time finding any sympathy in my heart for Cyndie or Emmit. but my heart breaks for Ashley and her children as well as Cyndie's. none of them deserved to loose a parent or partner in such a horrible way.
I’m almost SURE her kids don’t look at their mom the same. Their father has a chance to get out which is good so he can mend things. Candys life is screwed hence why she got arrested shortly after.
I worked with this woman's life insurance agent at the time this happened. I have never been happier to give someone a life insurance payout! I'm so glad her and her kiddos ended up alright and she is so strong!
@Vicki L There is no wiggle room for privacy. As an employee with a top financial institution for the last decade, compliance surrounding privacy laws are assigned on a quarterly basis to keep us sharp. When you are dealing with people's finances, absolutely nothing should ever be shared. Even if it's public information, employees are not at liberty to share anything. It would not be hard to narrow down her insurance company and I for one, would not give them my business knowing how easily their staff is willing to talk.
@Vicki L She stated who was getting the life insurance payout from whom. Regardless if the dollar amount wasn't specifically mentioned, that is not a matter of public record... and is certainly not a good look on behalf of the company that this woman supposedly represented.
The people saying it’s a breach have clearly never actually worked at a company with privacy laws. She literally said no information that would be a break of information or confidentially. Just stay in your lane 😂

Ashley is the only real victim here. I am glad she is ok. No one deserves death for cheating but Ashley was the only person here with morals. My ex betrayed me too, humiliated me by doing stuff behind my back and at our home that broke me but I walked away from all of it. I hope more people would do the same instead of ruining their life over people that are not worth it.
