Fun fact: this man saved my fathers life. I will never forget the hours, minutes, seconds I sat waiting with my mom outside of surgery doors. For him to calmly come out, put his hand on my shoulder, and told me everything was going to be alright. Truly the nicest, most humble doctor I have ever met. If you ever read this sir, thank you. - Mark
@shahina rafique bruh, their the ones saying something, and marking their name, Paul didn’t actually say that, besides, you even spelled paul’s name WRONG.
@Kiewicz92 Because why do they need to say that? It isn't the surgeon's problem if the patient is nervous, so they don't need to say it to help calm the patient. It's also not the surgeon's problem if they themself are nervous.
@Danyal Khan stuff like that really makes me grateful for what I have and I always remind myself that my situation could always be worse. Hope you’re doing good brother
@CmoneyBowls Wow, they were all open heart surgeries? You couldn't have any minimally invasive ones? They must have to cut through so much scar tissue each time!
@Roman how does saying “Insha’Allah” shove religion into everything? It literally means “if God wills”. Why does he have to say it in English? Just to please you? Allah is the greatest and we will not forget him just to please the disbelievers, Alhumdulilah. Surah As-Saf 8 “They wish to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah will ˹certainly˺ perfect His light, even to the dismay of the disbelievers.”
You remind me my uncle . He was a general surgeon for 40 years. Very kind and nice person. He saved many by removing cancer tumors. Unfortunately died from a cancer! God bless his soul!
Thank you sir also you and your confidence gives me the same with a humble heart. I am a pnp that works in NICU. i try my best every day. watching you and listening to how you talk with patients i have learned again what compassion is.. Thank you!
I'm completely terrified of surgery. I had my tonsils out 32 years ago and have been deathly afraid of any kind of surgery ever since. This doctor actually made me feel like I could have a procedure done if I needed it. Such a sweet seeming man.
Same. I have a hiatal hernia and high blood pressure high stress. I need surgery but I'm terrified. And the anxiety is killing me the most. Been 14 years since I've had surgery.
It’s understandable. I went through a double jaw surgery 2 months ago and I was terrified. The first time I even didn’t show up and we had to reschedule 😅. My surgeon was like this guy, he even said the same “I’m not nervous”. Surgery went fine and I’m still here alive! :)
I rotated with him for 2 weeks as a medical student. He was very knowledgeable, enjoyed teaching and was nice to staff and medical students. Funny how I recognize everyone on this video even the room they operated in, must have been around the time I rotated with them end 2019. Hospital was only a couple of months old "new facility" at that time.
As a person went through a surgery (not a major surgery, just an appendicitis), I can say that it's true that communicate with the doctor before the surgery, feeling the confident and pleasant in his actions and words really helps you to relax and calm down your tension(it really works for me);he reminds my surgeon.
My father just had open heart surgery and it made me have a whole new respect for surgeons. The fact that another man saved my dads life makes me feel so grateful. I have the upmost respect for everyone in the medical field.
I’m a medical student and yes, the burned-out ones. I literally just be so exhausted and don’t know what to do or what even is the meaning of my life anymore. Lately, I woke up and kept asking myself what am I doing, or is this the life that I really want? And I don’t even know the answer. Until I found this video. Seeing him being so happy with his daily life, doing what he loves and just making people happy gives me heartwarming. I keep on coming back to watch this video again and again. I wish one day I can be a doctor like him, the great one. Watching him do the job gives me hope and somehow makes me want to keep going on this path. I hope I can get better soon because now, I feel so lost. I want to be a good doctor like him. I will try my best to get back on track and always remember him as a role model. This video means a lot to me. Thank you. He might not see this comment, but I just want to say it, thank you.
I hope and pray that you’re feeling better now. I also work in the medical field as a Nurse and I work with so many residents for I am working at teaching hospital. I also have a lot friends who are medical students and Attendings. It is normal to be burned out and get tired. Please take rest and surround yourself with people who will support you… do the things that made you decide to become a Doctor in the first place…to remind you…. you’ll get through it…
This guy is so awesome, so kind hearted. As a surgical tech, I can tell he’s one of the few that is pleasant to work with. I really appreciate his comment about the operating room describing his team all the techs and everyone involved being well choreographed & focused on the patient having the best outcome, that’s our goal!
I already respect the hell out of doctors for their education, but this man also has the perfect combo of demeanor, empathy, and charisma, that anyone having him for a surgeon will feel at ease
I used to work in a hospital and spend time talking to surgeons on my floor. This guy is incredible. You can tell by the way he speaks that he is a great surgeon and an even better human being. He really seems to care about his patients and that is needed
Alex in terms of what you said, I’ve heard a surgeon said he feels butterflies into his stomach when he enters the OR. Like he literally gets emotionally excited and opening other people’s skin is fun. And I agree, it would give you the feeling of almighty god at that moment since the life of the patient is up to your hands.
I had to have a surgery in August 2020 to remove Melanoma from my lower back, and my surgeon had the same calming and reassuring personality that Dr. Massimiano shows in this video. It was my first time ever having a surgery under general anesthesia and I was really nervous. I believe that the world of medicine would be much better if all doctors had such caring and calming personalities.
He’s not nervous because he doesn’t care if they die. He’s gonna do his “job” and do what has to be done with great skill, but if the patient dies because of their own complications, it doesn’t matter to him no more and it’s onto the next patient. It’s kinda sad really.
It seems that I got here a little late, but I love doctors and this guy is amazing. Having been and continue to be a patient, having a doctor with levity and a positive attitude is literally life changing. I loved so many of the things this doctor said. "So, uh... you showed up, huh?" and especially the "Patients are always nervous before [open heart] surgery. It's pretty understandable, but I always tell them the important thing is: I'm not nervous." There's a shortage of doctors and hopefully this video, or this doctor can be an inspiration to anybody and everybody considering becoming a doctor or a surgeon.
I admire these people extremely. Not even for the fact they have knowledge the average person doesn't, but the discipline to spend all day, everyday in a hospital void of sunlight. I couldn't do it for that alone lol. I can't stand being at one for a couple hours.
The medical practice is a very delicate practice! Very, very delicate. You can't screw anything up here, man. Professionalism and safety is of utmost key in the medical world. Your health is what matters most.
This guy obviously got High Distinction in Bedside Manner; he's calm, considered, thoughtful, puts people at ease. Exactly the kind of person you want to trust your life with.
I love watching this because my dad does exactly what he does and it just makes me realize how special people that do this are and im so proud of everybody that goes through the schooling and want to help people
I had open heart surgery when I was about 4 days old. My condition was Transposition of the Great Arteries, meaning my two main arteries were flipped around. I wouldn’t be here without these guys. Thank you so much!
@Imane sometimes surgeons can be Dicks but it's rare. Usually when you're consistently slow on passing and the surgery is definitely not going well. But they don't mean it, you get short with people when the pressure is on its part of the gig.
@Striker GK yeah it's true my aunt is a surgeon but she's very affectionate and loving, it's work they know how to be firm and affectionate, maybe you can't but they can
God bless him he seems so in depth in his career and I love how he said he listens what his staff during surgery listen too because of they listen to what he listens too he doesn’t want them to get bored. That’s appreciating your team
I really think all surgeons deserve respect. Thank you for prolonging others' lives at the expense of your own! Always cheer up many doctors who suffer from great pressure and fatigue every day while dealing with someone's life.
I went through key hole heart surgery when I was 15 the mostly scariest thing I’ve ever experienced, having a calm doctor is a amazing feel to have, have a open mind, be calm, stay in the moment. What’s a amazing human
I had brain cancer as a kid and I cannot express how much I love my neurosurgeon. He did his job very well but the extra care he showed me is what really changed my life
I don't know this doctor, but I just want to say thank you because I sure you have gave so much comfort to some many of your patients loved ones when you tell them its all good its a total relief...well done
hes so adorable , you can just tell he cares about his other professionals and his patients . so hard to find in the medical field now. i want him to be my doctor
Hi baby how are you doing now i hope you are really doing good you are awesome looking at you baby makes happy when I look at your picture it is beyond my imagination that a creature like you really exist like a rose you make the garden so beautiful You are a diamond to any man that have eyes to see goodness of a womanhood Baby am Ben easy going person very understandable Am a civil engineer and a contractor I work at so many places like Asia Europe and Africa I love art craft and I write music I like ideal people when I see your picture am impress I want a good woman that understand what real love is all about who will understand me and perfectly be for me So we can build our world strong enough to care for each other I want you to be mine and I hope to hear from you soonest thanks
I have a friend who I didn't know for long, who had had a heart transplant several years before I met him. He died December 2020. He was an amazing man, so loving, spoke with so much passion, and was the best father to his son and most loving husband to his wife. All this to say without people like this I would never have gotten a chance to have met my friend, or many of the other lives he impacted. Thank you heart surgeons.
I am amazed by this, knowing that these doctors/surgeons are being able to save lives everyday. I'm truly amazed by this job and this job is an indeed blessing.
Excllent efforts. Doctors are frontline warrior and coronavirus is a sniper against frontline warriors. Give respect to docotor. Do visit to our channel for CoVid-19 updates.
These are the kinds of doctors I adore. My mom's OBGYN and family doctor has a demeanor like this. I've known her all my life and I know I can come to her with anything. She's like a second mother to me. ❤️ you Dr. Mahood.
2:08 this is true, senior Nursing student here at PH.. I got a chance to experience being scrub nurse on Mastectomy case of a 55y/o F breast cancer patient. The environment inside the operating room is not that SUPER intimidating as we see on TV or series. They chat like they're in a lounge area talking abt everyone's life status, they also play Kpop songs *as per the request of the other student nurses observing the surgery lol. I quiet enjoyed our duty in that hospital. It became an eye opening to be see myself on the future being a OR Nurse.
@Ysabel sir, I am a medical aspirant in India and I did research why doctors leave the faucet working while washing and cleaning their hands and tools, that is because touching the faucet, even the infinitismaly minute part of it, will cause about 1 million to 3 million microbes from THE HUMAN BODY to be attached to the tap, which keep in mind will be used by another doctor for another patient. I know that on our level we might think, what difference does it make, but if we think of it on a daily level for a doctor, specially a surgeon who is cutting your skin open and is definitely touching our ORGANS, might and probably will cause amazing hazards. Hope I made sense to you. Thank you and peace 😊.
It's so hard not to admire how Doctors really do. I could not imagine dealing with the immense amount of pressure of performing these operations on patients..
I had mitral valve replacement a year ago. The full deal, where they opened me up. I had never had any surgery before. Had never been put under. I admit I was "apprehensive" facing up to the surgery. I'm glad the surgeon in this video says that most patients are naturally apprehensive before this kind of surgery.
Hi baby how are you doing now i hope you are really doing good you are awesome looking at you baby makes happy when I look at your picture it is beyond my imagination that a creature like you really exist like a rose you make the garden so beautiful You are a diamond to any man that have eyes to see goodness of a womanhood Baby am Ben easy going person very understandable Am a civil engineer and a contractor I work at so many places like Asia Europe and Africa I love art craft and I write music I like ideal people when I see your picture am impress I want a good woman that understand what real love is all about who will understand me and perfectly be for me So we can build our world strong enough to care for each other I want you to be mine and I hope to hear from you soonest thanks
my mom has been in many operating theatres because it's her job and she did say that it's actually quite relaxed and they do have music on in the background
AvaJeanne how did you sign up to attend a surgery? :) I’m interested in the medical field and I’m curious where I can look for information and hopefully sign up for one
@cahlos12 never, i bet you could sue him or the hospital easily for mental anguish or distress or something and also i would just stomp his knee into the floor tiles behind him. But that is funny in cartoons though because it is so outrageously absurd.
I want to be a doctor (I'll be applying this year to start med school in 2023), but for some reason earlier today I was having a bit of a break down worrying if this is really what I want to do with my life and if I'll be able to manage it. But this video just kind of renewed my faith for me. I can't see myself doing anything else.
Thank you all for the views and kind comments. Thanks to become Dr us my dream
@Frank that funks i am not scared of u

No one gives af
@Deandre Davis the guy ‘mark’ wrote this comment, and signed his name. He knows the doctor’s name is paul 😂
His confidence is flawless. He’s the kinda man you trust with literally your life.
Miss Bruna looking mighty fine today ;)
@Luke S. Where are you from how long have been in the field
@Golden Benn engineers are notorious for their terrible social skills
"I always tell them that the important thing is that I'm not nervous"
That right there is peak professionalism.
@Kiewicz92 Because why do they need to say that? It isn't the surgeon's problem if the patient is nervous, so they don't need to say it to help calm the patient. It's also not the surgeon's problem if they themself are nervous.
Repetition and learning new things makes One perfect. He has achieved it.
true, not every doctor would actually say that
I’ve gone through 6 open heart surgeries, the surgeon telling me he’s not nervous actually calms me down everytime. Great doctor
Bro... Are u okk now...???
@Danyal Khan stuff like that really makes me grateful for what I have and I always remind myself that my situation could always be worse. Hope you’re doing good brother
@CmoneyBowls Wow, they were all open heart surgeries? You couldn't have any minimally invasive ones? They must have to cut through so much scar tissue each time!
@Drummachine even with insurance probably over a million dollars
Jeezus I really hope you have insurance lmao
im a 14 year old girl who wants to be a heart surgeon. this man just made me want to become it 10 times more. so thank you
@Roman how does saying “Insha’Allah” shove religion into everything? It literally means “if God wills”. Why does he have to say it in English? Just to please you? Allah is the greatest and we will not forget him just to please the disbelievers, Alhumdulilah.

He's calmer about saving lives than my Mom about dirty dishes.
😀😀😀
Rilll
🤣
😂😂
He's calmer than my mom on anything
You remind me my uncle . He was a general surgeon for 40 years. Very kind and nice person. He saved many by removing cancer tumors. Unfortunately died from a cancer! God bless his soul!
@Eric Xiang LMFAOOOOOO that's how I play cod right? XD
Dang it......
RIP SIR.....🥀💐
My condolences
@Yourmomgay not really - it is very common way to die for those of us lucky enough to live to an old age.
He gave others something he couldnt reveive
Imagine how many lives he has saved. Seeing him aged is so sad, because sooner or later he will retire from his profession. Kudos and much respect!
He's actually 32, it's from a stressful job
You know he's a good doctor simply by how clean his office is. He knows exactly what's up
“The important thing is, I’m not nervous.” This guy just gave me the inspiration I was lacking, absolute legend💯

I'm getting my tonsils removed in 2 days 😨
It’s like when you entrust a pilot to fly your plane safely. They’ve done so many surgeries/flights that there really isn’t anything to worry about.
Showing up is 50% of battle. What a word of wisdom.
It's actually about 3% of the battle.
Heart 🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️😘😘😘😘
@Swiss Babe I love Switzerland :'c
True
That's just something they say to calm the patient before the worst part, but it works lol.
I rotated with him for 2 weeks as a medical student. He was very knowledgeable, enjoyed teaching and was nice to staff and medical students. Funny how I recognize everyone on this video even the room they operated in, must have been around the time I rotated with them end 2019. Same I had appendicitis
My father just had open heart surgery and it made me have a whole new respect for surgeons. The fact that another man saved my dads life makes me feel so grateful. I have the upmost respect for everyone in the medical field.
The amount of calmness this doctor gives just by talking is incredible.
I’m a medical student and yes, the burned-out ones. I literally just be so exhausted and don’t know what to do or what even is the meaning of my life anymore. Meaning of life is found in Jesus
I’m with ya it sucks but it’ll be worth it
I hope and pray that you’re feeling better now. I also work in the medical field as a Nurse and I work with so many residents for I am working at teaching hospital. This guy is so awesome, so kind hearted. As a surgical tech, I can tell he’s one of the few that is pleasant to work with. I have nothing but a huge amount of respect for doctors, they spend a period of 15-18 years of preparation just to help people...
Surgeons are truly amazing. I can't imagine the tremendous about of time spent and procedures it takes for a surgeon to be so confident and calm.
"I've never been bored a single day in my career." Thats the pinnacle of passion and its truly a blessing.

The man who works there is a legend. Never bored, and saving lives!

Exactly
As someone who has had Open Heart Surgery at the age of 14, this video has always made me appreciate the people that do this everyday
Heart 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I do not want to be a surgeon but I’m currently studying medicine, this man somehow gives me the strength I need to continue my studies
He honestly has such a calm and soothing voice, definitely good for calming any potentially stressed patients
Thank you for all that you do
When he said "the important thing is I'm not nervous" I instantly felt much calmer and I don't even have to undergo heart surgery
He’s not nervous because he doesn’t care if they die. He’s gonna do his “job” and do what has to be done with great skill, but if the patient dies because of their own complications, it doesn’t matter to him no more and it’s onto the next patient. It’s kinda sad really.
No you didn't. You just thought "how can I make a comment that gets a lot of likes and sounds corny in the process"
for sure you're Danish
That was a smooth one liner
@Lars Europe isn't a country
Thank you for your service guys it’s people like you that change the world we live in
His calmness is everything. Working with him might also be so relaxing and enjoyable. I can’t wait for my turn!!

Gem of a doctor and human being.
He literally touches people heart everyday
I hate u for this but 🤣
Grammer
And?
I hope he never broke a heart before
Lmao

As a person who study Veterinary medicine this made me so excited to start training already, It truly inspired me 🥰
If I were to ever get surgery I would want it to be done by somebody like him. He’s calm, professional, very kind, and just overall seems trustworthy.
"I've never been bored a single day in my entire career." That's the piece of inspiration i require.
I think I missed it, can you tell me where does he say that?
Lol I read that literally bored out of my mind at work right now. On my birthday. On thanksgiving lol
Never been bored, but what about always being stressed?
yes.
I love watching this because my dad does exactly what he does and it just makes me realize how special people that do this are and im so proud of everybody that goes through the schooling and want to help people
God bless our healthcare workers. Tremendous sacrifices. Truly inspirational.
This gentleman really loves what he's doing, and we are trully blessed to have doctors like him..
I had open heart surgery when I was about 4 days old. My condition was Transposition of the Great Arteries, meaning my two main arteries were flipped around. I wouldn’t be here without these guys. Thank you so much!
The first person who ever spoke to me in the spirit was my mom's heart surgeon. She rocks! She knew I could hear her soul speaking to me.
He has the same energy as a very loving grandpa
@Imane sometimes surgeons can be Dicks but it's rare. Usually when you're consistently slow on passing and the surgery is definitely not going well. But they don't mean it, you get short with people when the pressure is on its part of the gig.
Bet he's chill to his techs too
Not reassuring
@Striker GK yeah it's true my aunt is a surgeon but she's very affectionate and loving, it's work they know how to be firm and affectionate, maybe you can't but they can
Yeah he would've made me feel more comfortable to be there for sure

I'm a cardiothoracic nurse and it's nice to see how consultant surgeons get on with their days
I went through key hole heart surgery when I was 15 the mostly scariest thing I’ve ever experienced, having a calm doctor is a amazing feel to have, have a open mind, be calm, stay in the moment. What’s a amazing human
I love how relaxed and confident he is without coming across as cocky. Someone like this doing your surgery truly puts you at ease.
yes
How do you reach this level of confidence? I just finished my residency and now that i am "off on my own" is a scary thought.
I seriously love doctors like this🥺💙 They're so comforting
Nothing but respect for people like him.
Well spoken, confident and charismatic man. A class act all the way.
Just by hearing his voice I know he’s good at this
Wtf I was thinking the same thing
IKR?? Its like the moment you hear his voice and bam you know he knows his shit.
Clam and still
@Nick S your dentist is likely putting topical anaesthetic or pressing a metal object against your gums before he injects.
hes so adorable , you can just tell he cares about his other professionals and his patients . so hard to find in the medical field now. i want him to be my doctor

Will never forget when i underwent a Right Temporal Lobe Craniotomy. The surgeon did an amazing job and the scar that remains, is everything to me.
I admire his courage and charisma ❤️
"Just showing up is half the battle"
That really warmed my heart a little. No pun intended.
@Bear she just said the word heart in a sentence on a video about heart surgery. There is no pun. Just a clever callback
@Fun Central because he said his heart warmed up a little and the video is about a heart surgeon
So true
Lol xD
Excllent efforts. Doctors are frontline warrior and coronavirus is a sniper against frontline warriors.
Give respect to docotor.
Do visit to our channel for CoVid-19 updates.
I wish all doctors in my country were like him! He respects and cares about patients, is a professional in many different senses.
Belo trabalho. Parabéns a todos os profissionais de saúde competentes do mundo. Abraços de um brasileiro...
This man’s personality is unbelievable awesome 😎 what a great human saving peoples life must feel amazing!
Hearing him say he listens to rap music during HEART SURGERY just sounds outrageous but also hilarious.
This gentleman makes very good money at what he does but he is also an absolute hero for saving lives
He is the most doctor looking doctor i have ever seen
@RevolutionaryBishop yes 🤣
1 million per year.
Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
He is like a doctor from a cartoon. Too pure
Just imagine going to sleep every night thinking “ I saved a human life” truly beautiful
Top of the LINE!! Seriously skilled educated and passionate people!! No wonder Mom always said to be a doctor!! Peace
Absolute legend, he just gets up before dawn and saves lives
This dude saves lives and says it’s an honour. What a gem of a man. Protect him at all costs.
He is so great! So nice!
God will always protect him
Not only him but all the whole some doctors
Random reddit idk lol 🧐
He’s an inspiration for us
We need doctors like him
May God Bless with health and prosperity
It's so hard not to admire how Doctors really do. I could not imagine dealing with the immense amount of pressure of performing these operations on patients..
A learned and polite gentleman! Respect for you sir ❤
What a lovely bloke. What a man to work for and learn from. You're a good man Doc.
He touches hearts both literally and metaphorically.
I hate … so much of the things u choose to be (not this comment tho)
Why are you the way you are?!
@Toby so respectful bruh
The case of the red headed sad sack
Extreme care shown to patients. Doctor giving confidence to the patient is half the battle is won. Great sir....
I hope new generation of Doctors will be like him
Awww this surgeon seems like such a lovely man… Thank you so much for your dedication to patients 🥰

Salute to all the surgeons all around world.
As a resident, he’s the most heart surgeon looking person I’ve ever seen
THE DUDE LISTENS TO RAP WHILE DOING SURGERY WHAT A FREAKING LEGEND
@Mason F ☠️🥀 I’d assume I died and was in hell LOL
@Mason F ☠️🥀 then I’d ask for a second dose of anesthesia
my mom has been in many operating theatres because it's her job and she did say that it's actually quite relaxed and they do have music on in the background
@nessa t. Im pretty you can watch your friend/family member during surgery. I think I that’s how she saw.
AvaJeanne how did you sign up to attend a surgery? :) I’m interested in the medical field and I’m curious where I can look for information and hopefully sign up for one
As a pre-med student people like this are what made me want to pursue a career in medicine
Even watching him wash his hands was relaxing.
A very calm and collected man.
Gotta be the calmest and most respectable guy. Such a collected demeanor I can’t even explain it.
I admire all of our Doctors and Nurses and everyone that works in Healthcare. They are literally living superheroes
I’m so thankful that we had people like this because they saved my life when I was born 🙏
must be the best feeling in the world telling the patient’s family that everything went well
@GM it is . I’m a doctor and after all these years i still can’t get used to it
Honestly. Listing to it
@cahlos12 never, i bet you could sue him or the hospital easily for mental anguish or distress or something and also i would just stomp his knee into the floor tiles behind him. But that is funny in cartoons though because it is so outrageously absurd.
honeyxbee I wonder if on April 1st he pulled any “the surgery went bad, he’s in a coma, naw jk”
Man he is so confident and calming, i know that he is really good at this. I can assure my life on him
I want to be a doctor (I'll be applying this year to start med school in 2023), but for some reason earlier today I was having a bit of a break down worrying if this is really what I want to do with my life and if I'll be able to manage it. But this video just kind of renewed my faith for me. I can't see myself doing anything else.
