@Ugly German Truths Folks who do this kind of work know the failure rates and best practices in survivability. Certainly not all survive, but they intentionally plant more than necessary to account for those that don't survive so that the outcome is a healthy ecosystem at that specific site even with the loss.

Very little of them propperly survived.
The trees planted by hands, were done so badly, most of them would have died out in weeks.
And the seed pucks, most of the seeds were propperly eaten by critters and birds.
The idea was super, the done horrible.

Mark, thank you. Your take on explaining this helps so many. Everything that humans do produces heat. Yet I would often refer to those past temperature cycles (ice ages), half defending that the heating was natural. We've been on the tale end of a heating cycle for 5k years. I was totally unaware of the carbon spike. That will be horrific if continued. Massive props for your communication and ways to explain real issues. Learn everyday!

So like, I can tell solar panels are bad for the environment but here's a few options. 1) funding research to make solar panels less damaging. Perhaps finding more eco-friendly materials that have the same effect.
      2) other fuel, such as wind turbines or hydroelectric generators or geothermal power. I haven't yet done enough research to see what kind of power is the least damaging, though I'm placing my bets on hydroelectricity.
      3) I actually forgot what my third idea is I'ma go do research on the best power source for funds to go to.

For people wondering if donations that are being made today are still planting trees:
The donations all go to the arbour day foundation, which is a company that is always planting trees for every dollar donated, not just the donations through team trees. So yes, every donation made still plants trees. They haven’t planted all the 20M trees yet, they had planned to plant 7M of them in 2020, but due to covid-19 only got 4.6M.
They are hoping to have all of the trees planted by the end of 2022
