Let's have some fun on this one. How big was this for you when you first watched it? Are you looking forward to the matrix resurrections? Do you still reference this movie today? The Matrix Reloaded movie reaction: kzclip.org/video/OZF4jmmwX5c/бейне.html
"Didn´t do much before this..." C´mon guys, Point Break, My Own Private Idaho, The Devil's Advocate and some others I feel would qualify as a descent career imho.
Watched this in the theatre when it came out. I was 19......amazing movie and when it was over everyone was either stunned or dumbfounded and didn't get it. It was groundbreaking.
Man I wish I could go back to when this movie came out. This was the most groundbreaking film at the time it released. My 8 year old brain was blown away.
Honestly this seemed like a different kind of movie until we see the supernatural spooky bits and find out that the whole world is a lie. Up until he gets arrested by the agents this movie could have gone in a hacker thriller spy direction.
"You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, that's not far from the truth." This is EXACTLY how someone is supposed to react to their first viewing of The Matrix.
There is just one iconic scene/shot/line after another. Just one after another. Truly a cultural phenomenon. From beginning to end it's packed with things that things that everyone knows.
After watching quite a few of the Matrix reactions videos, it's interesting to see the various things the reactors focus on. Some pick up on the philosophy, some on computer coding, some just like the special effects or fights scenes. I think because it excels in all these different areas is why it's so popular with so many people.
The typical Prince charming kiss to bring him back to life seems silly but if you think about it ...he only got shot in The matrix ,in the spaceship where they're at.... His physical ears and brain can hear what she's saying and that's what makes him hear her out of the "dream world matrix" and realize that he's not dead and so his brain started his heart again.
@crystal scolza Yeah him being able to differentiate what is real and what is in the matrix because he is the one makes more sense. Because when someone flatlines, they are dead. But because it's happening in the matrix and getting the confirmation that he was the one from Trinity sealed it. So it ultimately was still love that got him back which is a little cheesy but there are a few of those moments in the film. I can take it.
@GarrusDeWitthis heart stopped only because his mind believed it, but there was no physical reason for his heart to flatline. Because he was not physically shot. So just like the matrix could trick him into believing he had actually been shot. By her whispering physically into his real ear, his actual brain could hear what she was saying to him. His actual skin could feel her touching him and kissing him. And that is what made him remember, just like the fighting scene that "that's not really air you're breathing" or "there is no spoon" and you didn't really get shot. So his brain restarted his heart, because there was no physical reason for it not to be beating. The reason why nobody else can live after being shot when in The matrix is because they're not neo. They can't fight agents, they can't stop bullets, and they can't control whether they die from injuries..... The Oracle even said when she was telling him that he wasn't the one. That it look like he was waiting for something, maybe in another lifetime.... And after he technically died for a few seconds and came back to life.... is when he was able to completely stop the bullets, see the matrix in code and jump into agent Smith. Just like Morpheus explaining to him that he wasn't breathing the air. And the little boy explain to him that there was no spoon. Trinity showed to him again that the matrix had no power over giving him death.
2:53 "You're so lucky to watch this for the first time; I'm so jealous." This is why I watch reaction videos for movies I've watched a trillion times; to watch them "again for the first time" through others' eyes. :)
'The Animatrix' is cool. A set of short extra stories/history before The Matrix...each a different style of animation. For the main back-story...how it all came about...I think of it as the future 200 years after the movie 'I Robot'. Worth a watch.
@Californyuh Those were great. While the Animatrix varied in whether the short was good those two did a fantastic job. I also thought Program and Kid's Story introduced some new ideas into the lore.
@Badd Medicine at least watch the two episodes called “The Second Renaissance” part 1 and 2 since it’s the story about events that lead to the machine rebellion, war, and creation of the matrix.
I was lucky enough to watch this in theaters. There was a sense that movies had all of a sudden "leveled up". You could feel the cultural shift. Everyone had a copy of this movie. When you'd visit friends & family they'd invariably ask if you've "seen it" and were excited to share it, etc. Nothing like it up till that point.
@Badd Medicine Yeah, this movie was the talk of the town around the water cooler for quite some time in those days, especially in SoCal where I'm from. It just nails a bit of everything, so all groups were trying to "clam it as their own", like, if you were a philosopher type, this movie justified you, if you were Judeo-Christian, you bought into all the illusions of savior Christ and scriptural references, if you were paranoid about government and growing technology in those days it spoke to you, it was a fairytale for those who like sleeping beauty kisses at the end. Like, there was a little something in it for everyone.
One of the greatest movies of all time. It's the first time the inspiration of anime came into a mainstream movie (the wachowskis were directly inspired by ghost in the shell 1995, another genre defining classic film, which is even more obvious on the Animatrix) So many ideas about the nature of the human mind, consciousness, systemic oppression and systems of control, AI and the future of technology. It's stuff that's still very relevant today, even more so now that these things are even more part of our daily lives. Thank you folks for reacting to it!
I watched The Matrix for the first time at a friend's house when I was 15 when it was first released on DVD. When Morpheus holds up the Duracell battery, it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Love this movie. The "KYM" in the elevator can be two things: "Know Your Mind" or a fun nod to Kym Barrett the film's costume designer. River's Edge was the first film where I thought Keanu stood out as a potential star.
I remember watching it for the first time and never noticed the time when they were in the Matrix there was a green hue to it until someone pointed it out to me. Great movie, can't wait for Resurrections. Love the reactions guys keep it up.
The green tint was added after post production. I remember I was able to download an Open Matte version of this movie. That was the bomb, seeing this awesome movie using 100% of your screen instead of having the top/bottom cropped out with black bars. Only problem was that it didn't have the green tint and it was only 720p since it was pre-production footage.
Even crazier, not a lot of people noticed that the subsequent DVD's and Blu-Rays they exaggerated the green even more to match up with Reloaded and Revolution. Nearly all the streaming platforms had this greener version. Then they released the UHD a couple of years back, which was color corrected to match more with the original theater release (but even then, streaming platforms still had the greener version)
Great reaction. Just subbed. And yeah, this movie melted my brain in the theatre in '99. And BTW, what a great year in cinema. Matrix, Fight Club, Magnolia, Boondock Saints, Sixth Sense, just to name a few.
I agree that this is a movie you cannot watch just once. I've seen it now at least 5 or 6 times and every time I watch it, I notice something I've missed before and it allows me to understand it a little better than the last time. Great reaction guys. Thanks
One of tihe genius aspects of this movie is that all of the special effects are not just usedf or spectacle. Each special effect is a part of the plot, and gvies us as much insight to the characters as the dialogue.
So Keanu was fairly popular by this film. He had done films like *Point Break* and *Speed.* Constantine didn't come out until '05. You have the timeline mixed up. Great reaction!
I still remember getting this on VHS for my birthday the year it released. My aunt got it for me because I had asked for it, but she didn’t realize it was rated R until I opened it up and people were passing it around reading the synopsis on the back of the sleeve. I was only 9 or 10 but thankfully my parents just decided to watch it with me the first time through to make sure it wasn’t like a hard R rated movie. After that, I watched it so much that I eventually wore out the tape because it was my favorite movie and I had never seen anything else like that before in my young life. I honestly couldn’t even begin to imagination how big a part it played in my growth as a person from that point on, leading me to read more into different life philosophies, learning about AI, coding, hacking, even something simple just like Techno/EDM, and god knows what else. There’s no telling how significant the ripple effect from seeing this movie at that point in my life shaped who I’ve become today. One of my all time favorites. A classic.
After all these years this movie still stands on top of most.. thank you guys for this great reaction! and uhhhh I'm also yealous of peeps seeing this for the first time ;)
I love the matrix so much. I modeled my modern apt after neo's and I got a few computers on a desk with some external harddrives and stuff and I love the aesthetic. also if you were wondering the music neo is listening to when you first see him is called Dissolved Girl by massive attack also if you notice in every Matrix movie the FIRST time you see NEO in every movie he is waking up.
it's hard to explain to today's audience what a futuristic epic experience it was to watch this in 1999 and it was such mindfuck lol. the idea was so revolutionary and people were really coming out of the cinema like: omg are we in the Matrix right now?!?! 👀🤣🤣🤣 especially since people were not used back than to ideas of abstract or virtual realities...also the fighting scenes and effects were never before seen too and so ahead of it's time. such a classic! I was 14 watching this with my friends and we were mindblown for days!!
Weirdly, Hugo Weaving's interview/interrogation scene here - before stuff got really weird - is the first introduction I had to ASMR in movies. And then the Oracle checking Neo over was my second.
I just watched all three movies couple of days ago in one setting and holy shit I forgot how good this shit was. One of the best stories ever told. And not to forget the CGI on this for 90's CGI is just top notch! I first watched it when I was kid and loved it even more as an adult.
Rewatching this time, I just realized the movie "Inception" was inspired by the Matrix too. The scenes where Cobb taught Ariadne how dreams work and how to bend it, it's kind of like the "tutorial scenes" where Morpheus teaches Neo how the Matrix works but instead "believe yourself".
It always amazes me whenever someone is surprised that agent smith shoots neo. That scene with the oracle isn't foreshadowing it's a straight up spoiler. She says exactly how the film is going to end.
Totally wish i could time travel with my current knowledge of todays lifestyle and events and how we are controlled and go back and watch this movie in the cinemas again, and get completely mind fucked, now that would be awesome 😂.. And respect to Woo Ping and his team who trained the main actors in martial arts and wire work for years.. Without Woo Ping and his team this movie never would've happened
Loved your reaction ^^Before watching Matrix 2 & 3. You'll need to react to The Animatrix. These are 9 shorts stories on the matrix universe who helps to understand it and to elarge the universe and the lore. Actually there are only 4 of the 9 that really matters to better understand the matrix sequels : -The second Renaissance : It's a matrix prequel which tells what happened between humans and machines and why the matrix was created -A kid's story : Origin story of a new character in matrix 2 & 3 -Last flight of the Osiris : It's an introduction to matrix reloaded, litterally a couple of hours before. Btw, and unfortunetly, Tank (the operator) won't be on matrix 2 & 3 because the actor had schedules issues. And you have to be aware that for matrix 2 & 3 : They dreamt big and had a lot of ambition. They propel the matrix franchise to be a franchise like star wars & lord of the rings, to tell an epic tale. Actually, it was one of the three big trilogy of the early 2000's with lord of the rings and the star wars prequels. It's such a shame that for people and in pop culture, we only see matrix has one great movie but it is really a great franchise with a lot of lore and a large universe as big as any other saga (like star wars) ^^ But be aware that the style of each films are different, so don't expect to be a redoing of the first one (if that makes sense). To be clear : -The first one was kind of a dark sci-fy thriller/detective more than an action film -The second one is a pure non-stop action film thrill (and a little bit of a superhero movie) -And the third one is a war film Btw, matrix 2 (reloaded) and matrix 3 (revolutions) are actually a 4 hours film cut in two parts (they were shot back to back) and this is why they were both released the same year with only a 6 months gap. Btw guys, which one of you have seen matrix 2 & 3 and the animatrix ? Did you only watched the first one ? Or did you watched them back in 2003 ? I asked because you didn't talk about that in the video (if I'm not mistaken) ^^
This film is one of my absolute favourites of all time. That Rage Against the Machines' song's intro is a headbanger though. Great reaction video fellas. Loved it.
Saw this when I was 19,and watched it about 10 times in the theater, it was so awesome and dense and addictive. I must have watched it 1000 times by this point over the years. It's in my Top 5 movies of all time. It is an amalgamation of Philosophies, Anime, Mythologies and Science Fiction and other stuff. The sequels were disappointing, but still kind of entertaining. Pretty excited about number 4, hopefully it's better than those.
actually Keanu wasone of my fav heroes through the nineties, starting with Speed. Big crush. Loved him in devils advocate although i was too little to see it in the nineties (but i caught speed yeah ;) haha those days) same with point break. class acting. i loved his Jonathan in Coppolas Dracula despite imperfections and Constantine was so badass, which came after matrix trilogy. Keanu is really good in most things he's done IMO. And Carrie another underrated Canadian actor and am glad they both became the superstars they deserve to be in this film/franchise. oh another trivia, Carrie did that granite hall shootout scene with fractured ankle. she broke it while training, but hid her pain so as to not lose her role or get cut out if she delays the production. Blessed thing, she was so adorably dedicated 💖
Good reactions guys thx. I think Neo is revived by Trinity revealing the Oracle told her she would fall in love with The One….and she loves Neo. So when he heard that it was like she activated the command for him to become “reborn” as The One in the Matrix program.
The Oracle never said he was not the one. Neo said it and she said she was sorry, but not what she was sorry about. People just assume she was sorry to tell him he wasn't the one, but it's more likely she was sorry that he was the one, but he didn't think he was and didn't want to hear he was the one.
@Liam Thompson Artistically and visually speaking, yes, this movie does touch something beyond what we perceive :) but I understand where you're coming from and you're correct. Just speaking visually.
as a trans person, after the directors explained how, to the core, they expressed their *trans-ness* through this movie, let me tell u, i never had such a breathe of fresh air after rewatching it and GETTING it. its simply amazing, how they told their story through a looking glass that could grab the regular everyday movie watchers, showing the trans mind without telling u hey im trans. i cant. just, bravo Wachowskis ♥. it became what it became cause it reached the core of the mind.
This was actually groundbreaking the time it came out. The time when Internet was just becoming a mainstream consumer thing. Not to mention the first time bullet time was ever done as a special effect.
the fact that Dave wants to assume and after 3 miss fire he learned his lesson proves that the movie got you hooked. (well it happened in squid game too)
fun fact, kung fu is actually a broad term that includes many styles of martial arts so when he say, "I know kung fu" he's actually more right than a lot of other movies that say similar things
Late to the party. Watching the entire catalog, as able and by level of awesomeness of the flick. Always the best reactions brought from multiple points of view.
You should really see Animatrix, as it really helps to give some background to the movies. Also, you really get to appreciate the movie more if you watch the documentary covering how it was made, because a lot of the effects are practical and semipractical, showing just how "Bullet Time" works.
Keanu was a household name he just wasn’t a worldwide phenomenon but he did My Own Private Idaho in 1991, Point Break in 1991, Dracula in 1992 Speed in 1994, and The Devils Advocate in 1997
5/5 Epic movie, set the bar for action movies for a decade after it, I went to the cinema to see this 10 times and then Keanu went on to do it again with John Wick and his Gun-Fu...
The kids floating the blocks at the oracles.. One of the blocks has a picture of a helicopter and a 3 below it, as in trinity. Later the scene when Neo saves her is when they are positive he is the one.
Constantine (which is awesome) didnt come out until 6 years after that. But he did have Speed and Point Break before this so idt this is his breakout cause both of those were pretty big Just realized when he meets the oracle he first has to accept cookies from her... like a website LUL Wish I could go back and watch this for the first time. Jelly of that
See I think that’s why she said sorry, you’ve got the goods but It looks like you’re waiting on something. Then Morpheus said she told you exactly what you needed to hear. He needed to hear that to become the one. To feel like he HAD to rescue Morpheus no matter what It took.
I watched on a dvd and I was around 12-13 year old in the eastern world. I literally had to focus to really understand this movie and still I couldn't. There was no internet so half the shit I didn't understand remained lost to me. Glad I finally can watch again with more appreciation.
When people got out of the Theatre at the movie's release, they where all like looking around them and at each others. Almost like they where questioning if what they where seeing was real or if they where in the Matrix... Wich was funny to see.
In 1999 my boss got a new phone, we all gathered around her to see her unwrap the Matrix Nokia phone. Looking back it was so silly, but at the same time it's still an awesome feeling, like you were _there_ when the world started to change this quickly because of the internet. Edit - watch the 1995 Ghost In The Shell animated movie to see where The Matrix got most of its ideas. Imo it's still the better movie of the two anyway.
The Matrix movie makes it seem like the machines just decided one day that they should subjugate humanity but the Animatrix explains what really happened
I'm so, so curious about how they're going to pull off The Matrix Resurrections. It's 2021, and I'm supposed to be afraid of living in a simulated reality, trapped forever in 1999? Shit, frost my tips and log me on. I've got mail.
When you're sitting out in the work truck sparking up for your lunch break and then you see a notification for badd medicines reaction to The Matrix! Oh it's going to be a long lunch 😂
@Badd Medicine thanks, much appreciated the spider-verse one is prob taking a good few months and probably probably only about 5% of most of what was in the sneak peak I dropped is going to be in the Final Cut I'm really trying to go big with this one..but really excited to see the reactions from Matrix 2 and 3 I haven't sat down to watch these films for probably 5 + years I'm going to have to go buy the 4K collection before Matrix 4 releases.. as always great reaction guys👍🍻
I recommend you guys check out the old Hong Kong action movies like Hard Boiled and The Killer. The "gun-fu" style of action in those films are what inspired films like The Matrix and the John Wick series.
Everyone is surprised when Neo gets shot. The oracle did say that either Morpheus or Neo would die. Since Neo successfully rescued Morpheus, he had to die.
Btw guys, which one of you have seen matrix 2 & 3 and the animatrix ? Did you only watched the first one ? Or did you watched them back in 2003 ? I asked because you didn't talk about that in the video (if I'm not mistaken) ^^
I almost didn't go to this film, because the only thing I knew about Keanu Reeves was Bill & Ted, and I thought, "Really? I don't know..." but my friends had already seen The Matrix and all said, "No, you don't understand! He's great in this, and the whole film is awesome! You have to see it! You have to!" So I begrudgingly went... only to LOVE it. I rewatch the first film every so often, because I just love it so much. It blew my mind, and it's so fun. So so good. Thanks for reacting to it! I still want to be Trinity when I grow up. 😉
I suggest to watch the Animatrix shorts most specifically the SECOND RENAISSANCE for background story how the war between the humans and the machines has started. It is really interesting and it could really happen not far from what technology we have today (Tesla’s AI, bill gates’ project SCoPEx to block out the sun) pls pls take a look at it. As usual GREAT REACTION GUYS!
I remember walking out of it being amazed by the fact that this was the only science fiction movie that could be actually real. Like, actually happening in OUR reality and not just a future or parallel fictional one(you know, when the president is not the actual one and such) .
I think this movie can be seen as an inadvertent comment on Keanu's status as a movie star at that point. When this film came out, Keanu wasn't the beloved star he is today. He'd had some successes ( Bill and Ted, Speed, Point Break), some failures ( Johnny Neumonic, Chain Reaction) but he would flip genres constantly, going from major studio films to small indie features in radically different genres, so he wasn't necessarily seen as a giant box office draw. He also wasn't considered a top tier thespian, and was constantly criticized for wooden acting in certain roles, as well as his odd vocal inflections and almost androgynous appearance. Once the Matrix was released, this uncertainty about Keanu actually subconsciously infects( and imo helps) the film. The doubt about Neo feels real, and the doubt about Keanu the actor is real too, and it helps you to root for him to succeed. Keanu blossomed after this film, just like Neo does.
This is supposed to be their first time watching this supposedly but when neo pulls the thing out his mouth when he wakes up from the matrix but the girl in the middle squirms and days he hates that part smh 😂
Mike, if you watched the intro, which clearly you didn't, there's a graphic and the guys saying it's Diamond Dave's first watch. And it's also mentioned immediately during the review.
If you know a little about Buddhism and self enlightening this movie is a mind blown. The building that Trinity is at the beginning is call Heart, and is where everything starts and ends. All names of the movie are important. Neo is dead 33 seconds. Trinity kiss, she is the Trinity energy he needs to become enlightened. Every scene is you analyze it is like a teaching straight from a class.
The Matrix was the very definition of cool back then, and still holds on. And yes, a lot of people say this is not fiction but a documentary :) Oh, and there are NO sequels on this one, that’s a myth. Animatrix is a great spin off, but there’s no such thing as a Matrix sequel as far as I am concerned.
It's the first twelve hours of a headcold and I know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight but at least I have Badd Medicine to keep me company! Bingeing all your previous videos!
I wish Dave had picked up on what the Oracle told Neo in small talk. Oracle: Sorry, kid. You got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something... Your next life, maybe. End of the film Neo is shot and killed only to be resurrected by love's kiss... Just like Sleeping Beauty in reverse.
not to mention the oracle said no one can tell you you're the one, just like no one can tell you you're in love, you just know. Yet she had told trinity earlier she would be in love with the one.
@Badd Medicine To be fair the movie is a lot to absorb when you first watch it. When it came out I barely picked up on what the Oracle was telling him.
Let's have some fun on this one. How big was this for you when you first watched it? Are you looking forward to the matrix resurrections? Do you still reference this movie today?

I know this is old but if you guys like this hope you guys check out Dark City also
And the KYM in the elevator could stand for, according to google, "Know Your Mind".
"Didn´t do much before this..."

Man I wish I could go back to when this movie came out. This was the most groundbreaking film at the time it released. My 8 year old brain was blown away.
My 27 year old mind was blown away. 😆 Jurassic Park was the most amazing film I’d seen effects wise until this came along.
2 is in the editor and 3 is being recorded tonight.
I was about 5 when this released. Has always been my favorite action movie. 2 and 3 are amazing as well.
You're right, ground breaking!
Dave: "Is this a dream?" Moments later "Is this another dream?!"
Forgot how trippy this movie is.
Honestly this seemed like a different kind of movie until we see the supernatural spooky bits and find out that the whole world is a lie.
Up until he gets arrested by the agents this movie could have gone in a hacker thriller spy direction.
Lol.... Good! We record matrix 2 tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be all over on that too!

The Oracle even said when she was telling him that he wasn't the one. That it look like he was waiting for something, maybe in another lifetime.... Just like Morpheus explaining to him that he wasn't breathing the air. And the little boy explain to him that there was no spoon. Trinity showed to him again that the matrix had no power over giving him death.
Fantastic Point
@Joe Cee pretty much lol

Interesting
Even crazier, not a lot of people noticed that the subsequent DVD's and Blu-Rays they exaggerated the green even more to match up with Reloaded and Revolution. Nearly all the streaming platforms had this greener version. Then they released the UHD a couple of years back, which was color corrected to match more with the original theater release (but even then, streaming platforms still had the greener version)
Thank you. We appreciate it and we are also looking forward to it. 🤘
Great reaction. Just subbed.
And yeah, this movie melted my brain in the theatre in '99. And BTW, what a great year in cinema. Matrix, Fight Club, Magnolia, Boondock Saints, Sixth Sense, just to name a few.
And blade the year before
Thank you for watching and the sub! We appreciate it! And wow, you're right, what a year for cinema!
I agree that this is a movie you cannot watch just once. I've seen it now at least 5 or 6 times and every time I watch it, I notice something I've missed before and it allows me to understand it a little better than the last time. Great reaction guys. Thanks
I can't watch only a little whenever it comes up on tv. I have to go to the +1 to catch as much as possible
Thank you and thanks for watching🤙
One of tihe genius aspects of this movie is that all of the special effects are not just usedf or spectacle. Each special effect is a part of the plot, and gvies us as much insight to the characters as the dialogue.
So Keanu was fairly popular by this film. He had done films like *Point Break* and *Speed.*
Constantine didn't come out until '05. You have the timeline mixed up. Great reaction!
UTAH, GIVE ME 2!
I modeled my modern apt after neo's and
I got a few computers on a desk with some external harddrives and stuff and I love the aesthetic.
also if you were wondering the music neo is listening to when you first see him is called
Dissolved Girl by massive attack
also if you notice in every Matrix movie the FIRST time you see NEO in every movie he is waking up.
Great call out on him waking up!
Its the only movie I paid 3 times to seeing at the theater. It just blew my mind from the story to the special effects
For 1999, they were great
it's hard to explain to today's audience what a futuristic epic experience it was to watch this in 1999 and it was such mindfuck lol. the idea was so revolutionary and people were really coming out of the cinema like: omg are we in the Matrix right now?!?!
🤙
I have rewatched this movie a lot over the years and see new things often. It's amazing what you miss.
I just watched all three movies couple of days ago in one setting and holy shit I forgot how good this shit was. One of the best stories ever told. And not to forget the CGI on this for 90's CGI is just top notch! I first watched it when I was kid and loved it even more as an adult.
The action is fantastic!
Rewatching this time, I just realized the movie "Inception" was inspired by the Matrix too.
The scenes where Cobb taught Ariadne how dreams work and how to bend it, it's kind of like the "tutorial scenes" where Morpheus teaches Neo how the Matrix works but instead "believe yourself".
love coming back to watch this. Always fun watching someone discover the Matrix for the first time. RedPill every time :)
Another thing about Hugo Weaving, is that he voiced Megatron in transformers, what an incredbile performance!
Megatron voice is great. Didn't remember that. 👍🤙
Having Dave there purely for every time Quinn looked at his reaction to various scenes was worth him being there.
It always amazes me whenever someone is surprised that agent smith shoots neo. That scene with the oracle isn't foreshadowing it's a straight up spoiler. She says exactly how the film is going to end.
You guys are really funny. Great reactions. Another great reaction channel
Thank you and thank you for watching. We appreciate it! 🤙
🤣🤣🤣
Loved your reaction ^^Before watching Matrix 2 & 3. You'll need to react to The Animatrix. These are 9 shorts stories on the matrix universe who helps to understand it and to elarge the universe and the lore. Actually there are only 4 of the 9 that really matters to better understand the matrix sequels :
-The second Renaissance : It's a matrix prequel which tells what happened between humans and machines and why the matrix was created
-A kid's story : Origin story of a new character in matrix 2 & 3
-Last flight of the Osiris : It's an introduction to matrix reloaded, litterally a couple of hours before.
It's such a shame that for people and in pop culture, we only see matrix has one great movie but it is really a great franchise with a lot of lore and a large universe as big as any other saga (like star wars) ^^
But be aware that the style of each films are different, so don't expect to be a redoing of the first one (if that makes sense).
To be clear :
-The first one was kind of a dark sci-fy thriller/detective more than an action film
-The second one is a pure non-stop action film thrill (and a little bit of a superhero movie)
-And the third one is a war film
Btw, matrix 2 (reloaded) and matrix 3 (revolutions) are actually a 4 hours film cut in two parts (they were shot back to back) and this is why they were both released the same year with only a 6 months gap.
Loved it.
Thank you and thank you for watching. Rage against the machine is always a great listen.
Saw this movie back then in a preview, with just no clue about the movie. What a dope experience⚡️⚡️
🤘🤘🤘
Great, will be fun to see how you'll react to that one. 👍
Great stuff here. We just recorded 2 last night and should be out next week. 🤙
I couldn't even begin to guess how many times I've seen these Matrix movies. I saw this first one in the theater five separate times.
actually Keanu wasone of my fav heroes through the nineties, starting with Speed.
Great stuff here. Yeah, Keanu is great and Carrie does fantastic as trinity.
Good reactions guys thx. I think Neo is revived by Trinity revealing the Oracle told her she would fall in love with The One….and she loves Neo. So when he heard that it was like she activated the command for him to become “reborn” as The One in the Matrix program.
Thank you and thanks for watching 🤘
Now you know why it blew our mind when it came out.
To THIS DAY, any time I get that sense of deja vu I always tell my husband there’s been a glitch in the matrix😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 touche
The Oracle never said he was not the one. Neo said it and she said she was sorry, but not what she was sorry about. People just assume she was sorry to tell him he wasn't the one, but it's more likely she was sorry that he was the one, but he didn't think he was and didn't want to hear he was the one.
Favorite movie ever. This movie goes beyond reality, literally. Nothing else compares. Beautiful cinema.
@Liam Thompson Artistically and visually speaking, yes, this movie does touch something beyond what we perceive :) but I understand where you're coming from and you're correct. Just speaking visually.
No, it doesn't: it describes aspects of your current reality. It, also, describes your future reality if you don't start paying more attention.
Enjoyed the reaction guys..so I need y'all to make a video every day...lol
Lol someday. Thanks for always watching. 🤘
as a trans person, after the directors explained how, to the core, they expressed their *trans-ness* through this movie, let me tell u, i never had such a breathe of fresh air after rewatching it and GETTING it. its simply amazing, how they told their story through a looking glass that could grab the regular everyday movie watchers, showing the trans mind without telling u hey im trans. i cant. just, bravo Wachowskis ♥. it became what it became cause it reached the core of the mind.
So many
It's quite incredible how many layers in this trilogy even after so many years.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
These are my favourite types of movies, the ones where reality isn't what it first appears to be, because......art imitates life 🙏
This was actually groundbreaking the time it came out. The time when Internet was just becoming a mainstream consumer thing. Not to mention the first time bullet time was ever done as a special effect.
Tons of layers to these movies.
the fact that Dave wants to assume and after 3 miss fire he learned his lesson proves that the movie got you hooked. (well it happened in squid game too)
🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes.
fun fact, kung fu is actually a broad term that includes many styles of martial arts so when he say, "I know kung fu" he's actually more right than a lot of other movies that say similar things
Late to the party.
Watching the entire catalog, as able and by level of awesomeness of the flick.
Always the best reactions brought from multiple points of view.
🤘🤘🤘
You should really see Animatrix, as it really helps to give some background to the movies.
Also, you really get to appreciate the movie more if you watch the documentary covering how it was made, because a lot of the effects are practical and semipractical, showing just how "Bullet Time" works.
Keanu was a household name he just wasn’t a worldwide phenomenon but he did My Own Private Idaho in 1991, Point Break in 1991, Dracula in 1992 Speed in 1994, and The Devils Advocate in 1997
He was doing well before this. Matrix helped bring him to the next level. Fair a bit.
I definitely need to do a 2nd watch
Oh, would I love to be able to watch this again without having any recollection of what happened
🤣🤣🤘🤘
Constantine (which is awesome) didnt come out until 6 years after that. But he did have Speed and Point Break before this so idt this is his breakout cause both of those were pretty big
Just realized when he meets the oracle he first has to accept cookies from her... like a website LUL
Wish I could go back and watch this for the first time. Jelly of that
Hahaha yup! Good call out there! On the cookies that is. 🤘
It blew my mind when I saw it in 99. Then I wanted to be Neo and do some Kung Fu.
Hahaha! That's fantastic! I mean, it was pretty badass.
See I think that’s why she said sorry, you’ve got the goods but It looks like you’re waiting on something. Then Morpheus said she told you exactly what you needed to hear. He needed to hear that to become the one. To feel like he HAD to rescue Morpheus no matter what It took.
Great reaction.
Waiting on the sequels.
Coming before Matrix resurrections 🤘
Hell yeah. Hope you guys react to The Second Renaissance from the Animatrix as well.
We can add it to the list. 🤘🤙
I wish someone would react to the old movie House of Flying Daggers. I think it is one of the most visually artistic movies out there.
I had to watch this movie 3 times before I finally had a good grasp on everything.
I need to watch it again for sure lol
I watched on a dvd and I was around 12-13 year old in the eastern world. I literally had to focus to really understand this movie and still I couldn't. There was no internet so half the shit I didn't understand remained lost to me. Glad I finally can watch again with more appreciation.
Don't worry, I'm still confused🤣🤣🤣
When people got out of the Theatre at the movie's release, they where all like looking around them and at each others.
Almost like they where questioning if what they where seeing was real or if they where in the Matrix...
Wich was funny to see.
🤣🤣
In 1999 my boss got a new phone, we all gathered around her to see her unwrap the Matrix Nokia phone. Looking back it was so silly, but at the same time it's still an awesome feeling, like you were _there_ when the world started to change this quickly because of the internet.
Edit - watch the 1995 Ghost In The Shell animated movie to see where The Matrix got most of its ideas. Imo it's still the better movie of the two anyway.
The Matrix movie makes it seem like the machines just decided one day that they should subjugate humanity but the Animatrix explains what really happened
I love this movie, but I always wonder if the Oracle didn't know that Cypher was going to betray them? 🤔
1 of the best movies ever made period.
4 broke my heart
This movie redifined Action movie making AND is one of the biggest contribution to Geek and Pop Culture
Yes. Huge impact!
I'm so, so curious about how they're going to pull off The Matrix Resurrections.
It's 2021, and I'm supposed to be afraid of living in a simulated reality, trapped forever in 1999?
Shit, frost my tips and log me on. I've got mail.
🤣🤣🤣 we'll see
When you're sitting out in the work truck sparking up for your lunch break and then you see a notification for
badd medicines reaction to The Matrix! Oh it's going to be a long lunch 😂
Much appreciated! Thank you!
@Badd Medicine thanks, much appreciated the spider-verse one is prob taking a good few months and probably probably only about 5% of most of what was in the sneak peak I dropped is going to be in the Final Cut I'm really trying to go big with this one..but really excited to see the reactions from Matrix 2 and 3 I haven't sat down to watch these films for probably 5 + years I'm going to have to go buy the 4K collection before Matrix 4 releases.. as always great reaction guys👍🍻
lol.... Oh Yeah! And great video btw, the one you did work one.
You guys gotta watch The Animatrix which fills in a couple holes between 1 & 2. Definitely worth watching.
This is the most quote-able movie ever. 90% of those lines belong to Morpheus
@Badd Medicine show me
I know kung fu
I recommend you guys check out the old Hong Kong action movies like Hard Boiled and The Killer. The "gun-fu" style of action in those films are what inspired films like The Matrix and the John Wick series.
We can add those to the list. 🤙
Everyone is surprised when Neo gets shot. The oracle did say that either Morpheus or Neo would die. Since Neo successfully rescued Morpheus, he had to die.
Yeah, should've known it was coming.
Btw guys, which one of you have seen matrix 2 & 3 and the animatrix ? Did you only watched the first one ? Or did you watched them back in 2003 ? I asked because you didn't talk about that in the video (if I'm not mistaken) ^^
Mason Quinn (middle) had seen all 3. The left, Andrew had seen the 1st & bits of 2 &3. Guy on the right, Diamond Dave hasn't seen any.
Happy you found us! 🤘🤙
@Badd Medicine Haha! Working on it... 🤘😎
Looking forward to checking out more of your channel! This is my first visit.
Thank you for watching. Great stuff here! And there's still time. 🤙🤘
Thank you! Much appreciated! We'll see what we can do.
I remember walking out of it being amazed by the fact that this was the only science fiction movie that could be actually real. Like, actually happening in OUR reality and not just a future or parallel fictional one(you know, when the president is not the actual one and such) .
Late to the party but I just wanted to say I love this series. I wish they kept the original humans are used for processing power not as batteries.
Good stuff!
"Speed" and "The Matrix" are my favorite Keanu Reeves movies.
Classics! 🤙
This was awesome! Can't wait to see the second.
Thank you and thank you for watching. We appreciate it. 👍🤘
Great reaction guys!! Subbed
Thank you and thank you for watching AND thank you for the sub. We appreciate it! 🤙🤘
I actually paid to see it probably 10 or 15 times. Along with my 3 boys. Yeah, so it was a bit expensive. Same for number 2 as well.
Hey, we get it! When it hits, it hits! 🤙🤙🤙
Pretty sure that everybody thinks of John Wick when Neo says "Yeah!".
I mean... Wick's pissed "Yeah!" is the best one in movie history. :D
Lol...Yeah (John Wick voice) I would agree! 🤣🤘🤙
I really think you guys would love the Ghost in the Shell anime movies, this took a lot of inspiration from those.
Can you imagine being Morpheus girlfriend and having a casual talk with him and all he does is give you riddles and some deep quotes from the web.
That's why Niobe broke up with Morpheus lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you know a little about Buddhism and self enlightening this movie is a mind blown. The building that Trinity is at the beginning is call Heart, and is where everything starts and ends. All names of the movie are important. Neo is dead 33 seconds. Trinity kiss, she is the Trinity energy he needs to become enlightened. Every scene is you analyze it is like a teaching straight from a class.
"Wait, so hes not the one?!"
"Thats what she said."
Well, "technically" she never said he wasnt.
This might not be real but its becoming real every day.
This is the greatest movie of all time.
🔥🔥🔥
One of his early movies was Chain Reaction and I think it was pretty good!
🤣🤙
@Badd Medicine Alright,but remember, it's not The Matrix! 😉
I don't recall. We'll look into it.
I got a Matrix code wallpaper after you guys mentioned it in the video. best idea I've done this year 😂😂
Awesome! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Some special effects were better back in 1999, because they had less of it in films so they could spend more time perfecting what they did develop.
They brought up every movie Keanu was in except point break before matrix.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Badd Medicine " here, ( hands over sandwiches) it looks like roadkill, enjoy"
Hey Utah, give me 2!
Actually, a reference to Point Break is the first one they make.
I liked him in Dracula, although Keanu wasn't a protagonist.
🤘😂
It's the first twelve hours of a headcold and I know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight but at least I have Badd Medicine to keep me company! Bingeing all your previous videos!
@Badd Medicine Thank you 🥰
Sending fast recovery vibes and hope you enjoy
I wish Dave had picked up on what the Oracle told Neo in small talk.
Oracle: Sorry, kid. You got the gift, but it looks like you're waiting for something... Your next life, maybe.
End of the film Neo is shot and killed only to be resurrected by love's kiss...
Just like Sleeping Beauty in reverse.
not to mention the oracle said no one can tell you you're the one, just like no one can tell you you're in love, you just know. Yet she had told trinity earlier she would be in love with the one.
🤙🤙🤙
@Badd Medicine To be fair the movie is a lot to absorb when you first watch it. When it came out I barely picked up on what the Oracle was telling him.
Yeah, that went over my head. Clearly. 🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ I was still trying to piece other things together. Lol.
Respects to Keanu Reeves
Agreed!
