@lol Wow you’re just so smart buddy. Don’t worry next time he makes a generalized insult like that I’ll make sure to correct him and let him know that you’re too smart to be included in his insults.
@KamAdant he said that every one who doesn’t believe in god would perish. how is that not offending? to say that everyone who believes in what he believes would follow the right path to eternal life and everyone who doesn’t ,like me,would perish and therefore would have a wrong belief is pretty offending to me, At least more offending than just asking why you should follow a guy who lets his own son get killed. And I am not even mad that he wrote that but that you criticize someone for just having a different opinion. I mean you’re acting like it wouldn’t be allowed to ask questions about religion. If someone doesn’t think that a god who let his own son brutally die will lead him to eternal life,that is perfectly fine. If you can’t say what god plans then you shouldn’t say that god is good because you don’t know. So believe in god or not, it still has nothing to do with neither the video nor the Comment.
@paul ackermann If someone saying “God loves you” bothers you so much (for whatever garbage reason you have for it) don’t engage with the person or expect a reply back.
I...dont...understand, my elo hovers around 200 but the last game I played last night had a 81.4 accuracy *HOW* do you get to 600 and play like this? 😭😭😭
@travis wilkins i guess you can let it slide by saying that playing chess puts you in a state where its harder to see these moves than when you're watching but not to this lvl ofcourse
New to this channel. I have barely played in at least 15 years, and I’m trying to anticipate their next moves, but I just can’t. I assumed I would be like level 500 having never tried to get a score, but I have to assume I am some way above that level. The number of blunders is just impressive
@samu gaming G I managed to get exactly one move right, the pawn blocking the bishop from capturing the hanging knight. Aside from that, absolutely no move.
A very technically unsound game...but more of a cliffhanger than a lot of the typical "I'll play a memorized game I read about in an article" games. Nobody could say "I know what's happening next, I know who will win" at any point in this one. They played badly, but they also played without it clearly being a memorization exercise; they were actually playing the game as it happened.
These videos are surprisingly SUPER useful to learn from as a low elo player! especially all of the moves levy points out to do and NOT to do. Thanks Levy and thanks everyone who''s brave enough to submit them!
I did this on accident yesterday. I did Sicilian as white because I was moving without thinking or realizing I wasn't black, black premoved their knight out of the way, I lined my queen, and then they moved a random pawn and I #. 5 moves. I was shocked I won.
I love being elo 355, and realizing, "Hey, I could play better moves than them." Like it makes me realize how at certain skill levels, 600 seems so advanced to me, but in reality they are the same or even stupider than me.
As a rating 300 something i would never play this badly in a chess game ever, even on my first round i feel like both of the 600 are kids who just started playing chess with looking at 0 resources
@Lee Not Schmee I have a feeling this was a bullet game. I'm a 400, even I'm not this bad if I have 30 minutes to think and plan ahead while boring the hell out of my opponent😭
8:02 for the people thinking this is offensive, this is actually my game and you know what you're doing when submitting a game like this xD watching this video is more entertaining and also more painful then usual :p
Before i watched that video, I thought I could never make it past 900 elo but when gotham said that we all start from somewhere I made it and now i stand at 1105. Thanks for encouraging me random Netherlands guy ❤
I used to be afraid to play against real people so I stuck to playing against stockfish on low levels. Your videos helped me see that there's nothing to fear and that stockfish is actually much harder than other players at my level :)
This is very educational to me - I am a very new chess player and I don't really understand what are good moves, so seeing what not to do while you also showing what is a good move as an alternative in bad positions is really helpful to me. I am bound to make mistakes, and now I have a better idea of how to recover from blundering.
@Mark Solvent Thanks Mark you said perfectly what I was trying to ask but didn't do very clearly. I'm with you on cheating, I don't see the point and where is the sense of self achievement! All the things you mentioned is what I've felt I've came across in some games. That's why I thought playing faster rapid/blitz would make it harder if they were. I played a lot of call of duty but stopped because of cheating. Online games are ruined by it. Seems to be this attitude of if you can't beat them then join them. I had no idea what could be done but what you said makes sense. I just wish they would do it offline or in private matches. 👍🏼
@davidcarr9772 let’s be honest if you are trying to cheat it’s really not that hard. Play on your pc and pull out an engine on your phone. Funny how our phones can beat gms that have been training their entire lives. I also heard there is software that gives you the moves in real time. I just don’t see the fun in it, unless I mean you have this opponent you are tired of losing to and you are trying to prove something. But still then I’d probably want to improve to beat them but to each their own.
@Mark Solvent Interested in that as I always play short games. As I get the feeling in certain games that the person is running another device with the board we're playing. To check what's the best move(s) to play. Not sure how they can combat that cheating as it's not software on the playing device.
The build up to 14:05 is absolutely glorious. As a 500 elo blitz player I was locked in suspense as Levy was describing the checkmate threat😂 oh gosh is it a funny world being a terrible chess player
I do appreciate these videos a lot as a newer player. I've been watching a lot of this at work, and I think in no small part it's helped me pick up a lot of overall awareness
True but on top of letting my opponents make the bad moves, the strategy that worked for me (700 to 1350) was to only allow myself to make the good moves.
It speaks volumes about me that I was genuinely impressed for Re4 at 13:44. Levy literally had to point it out to me that rook was hanging. Man, these videos really make you regress...
@JC not 3ven the pawn takes rook have queen takes pawn check and then queen takes rook is another line for it blocking black from opening up the center with pawn trades and then that threatens another mate in 3 or 4
Speaking about it.... Wouldn't the best move for White there actually be Qxc6? Cuz that checks the king, the rook can't escape, then Qxe4, bishop is pinned (Unless black used that to defend the check last move, then that's just check again)
I'm a 700, I did not see that Rook was hanging. I think alot of these stuff happens in my games too. It's as simply as we don't see it. All our moves does not have to have a plan, I can't think that far or Idon't know what creates a good attack. I'm trying to just not hang my pieces, then I end up in a fork, or bad trade and lose the game. Especially forks is hard as they are not natural for us 700 to spot.
An Excellent match to watch! So many sacrifices! Congratulations to you too! You were able to convey the excitement of watching and sharing a truly beautiful game to your audience (chess lovers) too! Thanks for the same! - KSM
I resubbed at 14:00 because you're fucking hilarious 😂😂😂 you actually had me going for a second, I was literally expecting some high level interpretation 😂😂😂😂😂 it's not just the game that's funny, it's how you talk about it that gets me. I'm dying over here
13:43 I felt so smug for instantly seeing Qxc6+ forking the king and rook and completely missed that you could just immediately take with the pawn lol. I need to play fewer puzzles
It's funny when they were playing the pawns to prevent the back rank checkmate. It's clear that they both had tunnel vision there, knowing each other's plan, but completely ignoring the rest of the board. Really equal adversaries.
f3 was the best move I've ever seen. After seeing that move, I went outside for a walk. I cannot tell you the emotions that run through my heart when I saw f3, It literally paralysed me
"The enemy cannot guess your strategy if you don't have one." - Master Oogway

@Levgame they drop planes we drop suns
Master oogway doesn't play chess
Lmoa😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
wow,thats wise
"Bishop takes b4 is a pretty difficult move to spot, it's very far away"
This kills me
I already found it before levy
@egacool same fr
@lol Wow you’re just so smart buddy. Don’t worry next time he makes a generalized insult like that I’ll make sure to correct him and let him know that you’re too smart to be included in his insults.
@egacool OK, so that means I'm probably about 300 ELO, good to know! lol
i have around 300 elo in chess and sometimes i end up hanging my queen because i dont notice some piece attacking it across the board
I love how each player continuously made the other player completely winning the game.
@The Most Diabolical Hater because lulz.
@KamAdant he said that every one who doesn’t believe in god would perish. how is that not offending? to say that everyone who believes in what he believes would follow the right path to eternal life and everyone who doesn’t ,like me,would perish and therefore would have a wrong belief is pretty offending to me, At least more offending than just asking why you should follow a guy who lets his own son get killed. as a fellow 500 player... i am in awe at this precise experience
@Manu cool
@Fir3St4r now i 1451 don't even bother
@TunderLion 280 I’m 1000 and still blinder lots of stuff
@Manu As a -89 player I think they deserve a *yes* score
@Gameristic as 300 Elo player, i think these 2 deserve 150
GM Gregory vs GM Minus is truly the chess game of all time
Loved it when Gregory said "It's Gregorin' time" and Gregored all over the place. Truly one of the chess games of all time.
Minos
It makes me sad that I'm rated 300
No until u know force check mate by getting check
Minus carlsen
They took “Don’t let them know your next move” to another level.
France vs moved left side france
I have mastered the fork of king and rook
In a REALLY bad sense.
When the chess video starts with "have you ever gone to the zoo?" You know it's gonna be wild
lmao i read this comment exatcly when the video started, the sync made it so much better
The door is right there 👉
@Felipe A. Saito oh thank you for correcting my minor imperfections as it quite definitely provided value to the value of my english. 😊
Or domesticated
I actually forgot what a clicked on for a few seconds because of the intro
As a fellow 500 player i just want to say this game is an inspiration for us 500 players and its a masterpiece
I...dont...understand, my elo hovers around 200 but the last game I played last night had a 81.4 accuracy
*HOW* do you get to 600 and play like this? 😭😭😭
I’m a 500 as well and if I was white and played all those moves I would have felt like the biggest mega genius for taking all of black’s pieces.
I'm 200
For me, a fellow 1.5k player...., it suks xD
As a below 600 myself, I can confirm I saw most of the great moves that both of the players played before he even told me not to do them!
I think this is my favorite comment on this video. Thank you for your honesty. I would’ve made some of the moves myself.
I’m below 300 and still I can still spot good moves 😂
@raymind gg yeah i think about that a lot, but it's just not the case with things that are this obvious
@travis wilkins i guess you can let it slide by saying that playing chess puts you in a state where its harder to see these moves than when you're watching but not to this lvl ofcourse
yeah i honestly don't understand how they're as high as they are
13:45 I DIDN'T REALIZE ROOK E4 WAS A BAD MOVE UNTIL HE POINTED IT OUT
I was sitting there saying ok but how does he stop the pawn taking the rook ??? And he was like nope i just wont
ME EITHER HOW DID WE ALL MISS THAT
@Juan Carlos ohhhh
@xXxGearxXx after queen C6 there is check forking the rock
@lol no? Or am I just blind
for the first time, EVER, and i mean EVER has a video like this made me laugh to the point of crying.
Absolutely Phenomenal.
@Alex TorresTAKE THAT BACK
@Alex Torresnice joke
@Аква which summarizes 20 elo chess gameplay. They can somehow make brilliant moves 💀
This will make you cry for real
I was playing some 20 elo chess and I somehow made a brilliant move
@Alex Torres 😂
I love Gothams aggressive endings
this is a phycological study 🤔
@KZclip suspended my account for no reason :c Wait you got suspended for no reason?
Lol, chess itself!
psychological*
Are you subbed to Gotham? I see you comments on a lot of his videos
@nairadears Phychological
Pawn to f3 was so hilarious, and then Bishop C5 finally after 3 turns...
I died laughing.
10:15 "by accident black sees that the bishop is hanging" GOTHAM I JUST FIND YOU HILARIOUS♥️
New to this channel. I have barely played in at least 15 years, and I’m trying to anticipate their next moves, but I just can’t. I assumed I would be like level 500 having never tried to get a score, but I have to assume I am some way above that level. The number of blunders is just impressive
@Nameless Oh yeah that make more sense now thx
@samu gaming G no theyre saying they only guessed one move right from the video which is mentioned above
@Ghi102 In one of your game you only made blunders ? Or are you n the vid I don't understand
@samu gaming G I managed to get exactly one move right, the pawn blocking the bishop from capturing the hanging knight. Aside from that, absolutely no move.
Normally 600don't even do nearly as many blunders in game there is just some people that are exeptional and does this kind of game once in a while
A very technically unsound game...but more of a cliffhanger than a lot of the typical "I'll play a memorized game I read about in an article" games.
That could be an interesting version of the game: you play to win, but every move must qualify as a blunder
I did this on accident yesterday. I did Sicilian as white because I was moving without thinking or realizing I wasn't black, black premoved their knight out of the way, I lined my queen, and then they moved a random pawn and I #. 5 moves. I was shocked I won.
@Juan Grajeda actually those are considered book moves
@sir mANT h4 a4
@sir mANT wrong f3 is a blunder
I don’t think you can checkmate with a blunder
“And it’s also an amazing move because it loses a full rook” my favorite part
I've never seen any move as hilariously beautiful as the reverse fork at 9:20.
Absolutely brilliant.
Reverse fork really is the best way to put it hahaha
"Congratulations! You have an IQ of 65."
"If you were standing in a room full of 1000 people, you would be smarter than 2 !"
@Zero Two Hi!!
omg hello zero two
I love being elo 355, and realizing, "Hey, I could play better moves than them." Like it makes me realize how at certain skill levels, 600 seems so advanced to me, but in reality they are the same or even stupider than me.
Yeah it's like they just played against 100 players to get a lot of elo but they play terribly
Ngl every 300 person I’ve played has been playing really well for 300 like there is not as many bad moves as you might think there would be
When i used to be 600, i..... looked like a hacker because i always won in 4 moves
As a rating 300 something i would never play this badly in a chess game ever, even on my first round i feel like both of the 600 are kids who just started playing chess with looking at 0 resources
The comedic timing of 14:02 completely killed me...
I was really really hoping this would end in stalemate
@Brian Aitkenperfectly said
Lol me too😂
It probably did lmao white blundered the Queen
@Smrt fašizmu because he probably didn t think that the opponent was messing up
I laughed so hard at the end I almost chocked. We need more videos like these, Gotham!
I was very sad and felt really bad, but this video made it go away for a good while. Thanks brotha
The sequence after Rook to E4 had me dying😭😭
I thought I was around elo 600… and I was thinking that was their first ever game of chess. I’m not THAT bad.
@Lars's Wig Levy said at one point during the video that a person (i forgot black or white) had 7 minutes on the clock
@Lee Not Schmee I have a feeling this was a bullet game. I'm a 400, even I'm not this bad if I have 30 minutes to think and plan ahead while boring the hell out of my opponent😭
Same I'm like 650, were not that bad cmon givin us a bad rep :(
It is more suspense than any other thing in life where a correct move could be a game changer
its so funny that literally the only safe square for the knight is to fork and he couldnt find that
@Nao猫 wow, what a great solution, just be better than your opponent:o
/j
@Rickrolled no
It’s astounding to have enough pawn blindness not to take the rook. But not enough to not threaten to take with the opposite pawn.
Truly Incredible
this man should be a commentator at chess tournaments
I love how levy ended with video with a "yup" 😂
I’m very new at chess and watching Gotham rip into moves that I would 10000% make is both brutal and the fastest way for me to learn. Thank you sir! ❤
I don't even have ELO but that F3 threaten to rook was a thing of absolute perfection.
8:02 for the people thinking this is offensive, this is actually my game and you know what you're doing when submitting a game like this xD watching this video is more entertaining and also more painful then usual :p
Je bent mega goed
you're a legend this was hilarious
@luit meinen What the heck was going on in your life at the time? lol
@Alpha Arsenic The only game I remember is when I fool`s mated a guy.
@Iboica* lol I feel ya
This is amazing content when you're trying to learn playing chess
You have no idea how much better about myself this makes me feel
you know its going to be chaos when levy starts with "have you ever gone to a zoo?"
Before i watched that video, I thought I could never make it past 900 elo but when gotham said that we all start from somewhere I made it and now i stand at 1105. Thanks for encouraging me random Netherlands guy ❤
5:36 wait is this where gotham started calling pawns frozen😮
Honestly, Levi losing his mind trying to rationalize this absurd gameplay is the funniest part of the video
This is why I watch his videos lol
Gottemchess
DontGetBackranked The guy, Gothamchess
@mrbow50001 Because there's (probably) no such person, it's a play on 'Levy Rozman', aka 'Gotham Chess'.
@mrbow50001 it’s not a mate, just a check
I used to be afraid to play against real people so I stuck to playing against stockfish on low levels. Your videos helped me see that there's nothing to fear and that stockfish is actually much harder than other players at my level :)
I laugh because some of these are me and it also helps me learn because of the jokes that are made. I love the content.
this video was hilarious levi is such a great storyteller
This is very educational to me - I am a very new chess player and I don't really understand what are good moves, so seeing what not to do while you also showing what is a good move as an alternative in bad positions is really helpful to me. I am bound to make mistakes, and now I have a better idea of how to recover from blundering.
The ending literally had me crying from laughter
As a proud 600 rated player my biggest fear is ending up in one of these videos love the content though
lmao
As a 600 rated player I take incredible offence in these moves
Not sure how they can combat that cheating as it's not software on the playing device.
bro they dont play badly they just play so good that theory cannot start to fathom how amazing each of their moves is
Best quote of 2022 “You can’t attack a queen with an unguarded bishop”😂
The build up to 14:05 is absolutely glorious. As a 500 elo blitz player I was locked in suspense as Levy was describing the checkmate threat😂 oh gosh is it a funny world being a terrible chess player
5 minutes in, already one of the best chess videos ever! you've made my day :D
I do appreciate these videos a lot as a newer player. I've been watching a lot of this at work, and I think in no small part it's helped me pick up a lot of overall awareness
If you want to go from being 600 to 1200... take this one piece of advice: let your opponent make the bad moves.
@descendency I try to play the least solid play I can: Minimal support for everything. Does that mean I can be over 2000? :P
@Gerardo Diaz that feeling sucks indeed
The other secret is to always checkmate your opponent, and you'll be a grandmaster in no time.
That's what I feel sometimes. That anytime I win is because My oponent played Bad, and not because I played better than him.
True but on top of letting my opponents make the bad moves, the strategy that worked for me (700 to 1350) was to only allow myself to make the good moves.
Haven't laughed this hard in a while. Thank you very much
wow! I never seen such wonderful game. yes, they absolutely deserve GM title.
these commentary on players making bad moves videos are surprisingly really entertaining
That first sentence, in a chess video, nearly got me in tears. Bravo sir, bravo
The guys that submit these games are brave, it’s nice to see some people who can laugh at themselves, good video levy
It speaks volumes about me that I was genuinely impressed for Re4 at 13:44. Levy literally had to point it out to me that rook was hanging. Man, these videos really make you regress...
@JC not 3ven the pawn takes rook have queen takes pawn check and then queen takes rook is another line for it blocking black from opening up the center with pawn trades and then that threatens another mate in 3 or 4
The move was just so dumb that it couldnt possibly be.
I'm trying to just not hang my pieces, then I end up in a fork, or bad trade and lose the game. Especially forks is hard as they are not natural for us 700 to spot.
There I would take the c6 pawn with my queen. Then take the rook with the queen forking the bishops
Oh that's amazing! As another 600 rated, I can say that these guys are actually really good!
This makes me feel good as a 400 rated fellow chess player
God Lenny you really turn into me right now, you know words hurt man
Thanks for explaining why most of my moves are bad
easily the most chaotic chess match i've ever seen
As elo 440 I must say this mastergame was a good learning material for me to play on next game
Me: laughing about these moves
Also me: definetely playing worse than that
@Velerium are you even aware of what you're saying there?
@Velerium I‘m trying my best though T-T
I don't believe someone can play worse than that, but if it's true... maybe you could give checkers a try?
just play e4
First time a chess video felt like a stand up comedy show lol
Made me feel good about my chess game for a moment too lol
When Gotham videos start with "ladies and gentlemen" you already know that it's going to be one heck of a ride.
An Excellent match to watch! So many sacrifices!
Congratulations to you too! You were able to convey the excitement of watching and sharing a truly beautiful game to your audience (chess lovers) too! Thanks for the same! - KSM
I'm at 400... but I like your content. I feel like I'm getting better by seeing your ideas. And trying to implement them.
watching Levy going insane was very funny
"Chess is a painful game, so we're all just laughing together" Never have truer words been spoken
3:00 his thought process was probably: if i dont place the bishop there, he checks my king and can take my knight
I resubbed at 14:00 because you're fucking hilarious 😂😂😂 you actually had me going for a second, I was literally expecting some high level interpretation 😂😂😂😂😂 it's not just the game that's funny, it's how you talk about it that gets me. I'm dying over here
why did you unsub in the first place?
Someone tell levy that 600 games are never lost,the winning player can find a brilliant sequence of moves to eventually lose.
the most entertaing chess game ive witnessed😂, the commentary was top notch
This is the first time i laughed at a chess game, this is hilarious.
13:43 I felt so smug for instantly seeing Qxc6+ forking the king and rook and completely missed that you could just immediately take with the pawn lol. I need to play fewer puzzles
But actually playing Qxc6 is better
?
sameeee
@SomeRandomDudee then Qe4 and it's another fork
i can't stop laughing man this was awsome those moves are legendary
I love how he's being chill and enraged at the same time and a real stupid move kills the chill levy.
the definition of "never let em know your next move"
I was secretly hoping the game would end in a stalemate 🤣
It's funny when they were playing the pawns to prevent the back rank checkmate. It's clear that they both had tunnel vision there, knowing each other's plan, but completely ignoring the rest of the board. Really equal adversaries.
f3 was the best move I've ever seen. After seeing that move, I went outside for a walk. I cannot tell you the emotions that run through my heart when I saw f3, It literally paralysed me
When
@Mr Dr Bass lol
then howd you go for a walk
The maniacal laughter is what got me
I want more such Videos! THIS Video Actually Made my Day
When"this is as good as it gets "you know this game is crazy.
i think the idea of the bishop e2 is to prevent the check so you wont lose knight
This game not ending in a stalemate is a damn shame
Imagine ending it off with white making another queen, moving around for a while, and then having a draw
I was about 800 against a 1400 who got 2 pawns promoted without close attention to where they were ... immediate stalemate.
Finally, a game on this channel that I can identify with.
I think I made all of those same blunders just last week.
Bar was the happiest in all of this mess having 48 adrenaline shots🙃
Too funny keep doing what you’re doing
That was the best opening sentence to any video ever
As a Gotham chess sub, I approve these strategies
You should know by now levy, at 600 level the queen is actually 27 points, because you just can’t stop it from taking everything in your position
I only started playing chess for the first time in july of this year and I was 500 but thanks to your courses I'm now 1300 rapid
As someone who’s played chess only once at 5 years old, I’m very confused but slightly entertained
Not only because of this video.. I can say: Chess players have the best humor so far :D
