I'm trusting you guys with to use the PEZ trick responsibly!! And I know it's been a hot minute since I've posted, but my videos take a lot of work and I've got 3 more BANGER vids to drop before the end of the year!
Shout out to the muscle guy Andrew Herbert, a world record breaking powerlifter. I have no clue how Mark found him, but he sure found one of the strongest human on the planet.
I took your advice and built all of these things. It took me a while. About 160 hours of design and build with about $8000 out of pocket. But I successfully got a bunch of tickets which I traded for a $3 stuffed animal, so who’s laughing now?? Haha, I totally swindled them!
I guarantee you, as someone who works in an arcade, if anyone I work with caught you doing this, we'd all think you were really cool and warn you what our manager looks like
I love how Mark so casually downplays that you could get thrown out of the arcade for this, but when he's actually demonstrating them he's all shifty eyed making sure he doesn't get caught lol.
Y'all think your average mini golf or boardwalk arcade have floor watchers? Nobody is leading you into a dark room to have a chat at Bennigan's because you were cheating at Skeeball
Pretty sure they arcades know about him filming this, otherwise it would be way too obvious and it makes things a lot easier. Really awesome video nonetheless though!
air hockey thing is really inadequate since both mechanical arm and Raspberry PI are much slower than human arm and brain. Essentially any human player (yes even children) could beat it. Plus it can not hit hard enough and have the hockey stalled on its side
The local arcade I work at (won't specify which one) actually has told me that most the rigged games are a automatic %30 chance to win if the owner chooses not to change it
Only thing Mark isn’t factoring in would be the power of the universe. On my 13th birthday, I won like 3 jackpots on the same day. ABSOLUTELY INSANE. Lol unless the arcade did that on purpose to make me happy. 😂 Then it makes total sense.
I used to own a couple of arcades and the percentage payout is down to the location. In the local inland arcades you could run 80%-86% payout as you want the customers to return, at the coast they will be set at a minimum, 70% is normal, and the local fair that comes to town once a year could have dodgy programs and run ridiculously low. This includes the popular crane grabs....
There’s something about having a huge wad of “physical” tickets that makes it more rewarding/satisfying than having them just loaded onto a card. At least with the card it’s more discreet though.
I always felt like places like Chuck E Cheese that just weighed the tickets instead of putting them in a counter was screwing you on the true amount of tickets you won.
Your an employee at a arcade store and you remember that Mark's Making a video there , you know that 3000+ kids are gonna be following him and the arcade breaks down.
I think they also use these beam brake detectors on the supermarket conveyor belt. It tells when there is your groceries at the end and detects when to stop.
@squidman Seeing as arcades typically have a lot of children, they usually have someone at the entrance to make sure no kids wander off without their parents. They're called a greeter because they also greet people coming in
As a kid of the 80s and 90s, I miss the heyday of arcades where they were like movie theaters - the newest, best games were there first and months later would get a home release. It’s sad to me ticket games have totally taken over.
Some of the older crane machines didn’t have the ability to be odds based basically there is adjustment wheels on one of the circuit boards inside to adjust how much grip the claws have.
As someone who worked for 5 years at an unnamed major corporate arcade for children (🐭), I remember our district tech giving our district a range in which the redemption games had to be “rigged” based on the store budget. It was crazy.
Mark would create a knife that can slice any mineral like Titanium or something and someone will ask him why and he will just say "To cut my watermelon."
It is so awesome to see him doing this in the golfland arcade where I grew up playing mini golf and playing arcade games because it was the closest mini golf course to my elementary school
Hey Mark! Big fan here. I was wondering if you ever had conduct a resonance experiment, but the sand is in a cube and sound is on all sides of the cube. Would the geometrical patterns be 3D or nah?
Mark Rober could've devoted his talents to paving the way for human life on Mars, but instead, he chose to make our lives here on Earth a little better and brighter with these delightful videos.
@I have fallen and i can't reach my keg what? how would humans possibly make mars' atmosphere and weather conditions any worse than they currently are? also, if we're trying so hard to destroy earth, it's amazing that the climate is still undergoing periodic shifts at the exact same rate it was 1000 years ago. we really must suck at breaking things.
This kind of content was definitely needed. Science videos like this will appeal to the younger audiences and teach them how that dorky nerdy stuff that they might think is boring now can apply to them in adulthood, or in the here and now even, and benefit them. Not to mention that it's actually cool to be nerdy and dorky about science. The more people who come around to science, the better. Admittedly my younger self did not like science, in Highschool I failed Science classes often. I wound up becoming a science major in college after discovering a passion for it. Sometimes all it takes is a video like this one to flip that switch.
Although Stackers is random in its payout, I win at least 30% of the time and the prizes are sometimes worth $15 or more, so $3 for a $15 item isn't bad.
@Jeweled Peach that's a copy paste message, those "small channels" go around posting it under A LOT of random high-like comments on A LOT of different channels to get attention

Ok
@BenjiTheBnny Bobi
ok
Imagine people coming into the arcade and wondering how they could ever beat the record on the machines...
Imagine someone beating the high score
💀💀
That’s exactly what i was thinking
@ i like you
Imagine being an employee at an arcade and seeing Mark walk in, knowing what is to come.
@hengki irawan POV: your mad at a comment for no reason anyone can see
I don't think people understand just how cheap arcade prizes are
@janbiel12 The clerks should worry about their salary if enough people start doing this🤣
Squirrels, glitter...some chaos.
I would just let him in if I got a autograph
Shout out to the muscle guy Andrew Herbert, a world record breaking powerlifter. I have no clue how Mark found him, but he sure found one of the strongest human on the planet.
It definitely wasn't chance.
Ain't no way
@Ste Da thats offensive.
Also just a superstition
@BananeledWorking on his brains. 🤣
So he’s basically the real-life version of Hercule Satan?
I took your advice and built all of these things. It took me a while. About 160 hours of design and build with about $8000 out of pocket. But I successfully got a bunch of tickets which I traded for a $3 stuffed animal, so who’s laughing now?? Haha, I totally swindled them!
@Carpe Lunam its a JOKE bro
@Carpe Lunam im pretty sure thats the joke
big cappin
Amazing lmao
If you ever see Mark walkin into an arcade with 12 backpacks, you already know he’s about to own the entire gift shop.
@Ryan Robinson I've seen a ps5 and xbox series s for a few thousand tickets 🤷♂️
@Luigi Battaglioli dave and busters is the exception
Yup- 🤣
Haha 😂😂
Ahahahah true, hit up a D&B’s tho, and that may be a different story @Ryan Robinson
I guarantee you, as someone who works in an arcade, if anyone I work with caught you doing this, we'd all think you were really cool and warn you what our manager looks like
I’d have thought you’d get kicked out
Imagine being an Arcade worker and seeing the same guy on the security feed 9 different times in 1 day with slightly different backpacks everytime.
CrAzY cOiNcIdEnCe I gUeSs
Imagine imagining.
Bruh
👁👄👁
@blindleader42 😂😂😂😂
He really just went and made the power fist from Fallout to beat someones score on the punching bag.
@Joshua Packard bc pez is too powerful
@KäsekuchenLP yeah, but a pez dispenser did
@notfiveo you should work in the industry. They do that all the time!
My problem is I come up with solutions to problems that don’t exist.
@KäsekuchenLP He had Unarmed level 9
I love how Mark so casually downplays that you could get thrown out of the arcade for this, but when he's actually demonstrating them he's all shifty eyed making sure he doesn't get caught lol.
yup
Theater of the mind!
@kjulo be honest im pretty sure they just dont care since that aint part of their work
So unless the boss or a bootslicker found you they wont care
Y'all think your average mini golf or boardwalk arcade have floor watchers? Nobody is leading you into a dark room to have a chat at Bennigan's because you were cheating at Skeeball
Pretty sure they arcades know about him filming this, otherwise it would be way too obvious and it makes things a lot easier. Really awesome video nonetheless though!
15:50 Mark is probably the only guy who keeps his diamond play button alongside tools and equipments
I sure would need a ”dad finder”! Seems like a cool unit!
Ah, your dad didn't comeback either, mine went on a beer run.
If i found him, id also need the bionic fist invention
Yeah me to.. I don't think he's getting milk.
DARK!
You will need one if your dad goes to get the milk XD
"But you'll notice, there is no rule against spring loaded piston punching gloves" -mark, 2022
I must say, the air hockey backpack is genius. The other guy would never notice a backpack playing for you while you are doing something else.
@K P fr
it would be more hilarious if his component also use one 😂
air hockey thing is really inadequate since both mechanical arm and Raspberry PI are much slower than human arm and brain. Essentially any human player (yes even children) could beat it. Plus it can not hit hard enough and have the hockey stalled on its side
Ikr
@notcoolatall
The local arcade I work at (won't specify which one) actually has told me that most the rigged games are a automatic %30 chance to win if the owner chooses not to change it
Which arcade?
Where I work doesn't do 100% but I know they can it just makes them lose money
@decal could they be set to 100% or close?
I worked at Main Event for a while and it’s set to 20% there
The idea of walking into an arcade with multiple backpacks is hilarious to me.
Shiningarmor hiiii
Plot twist: it’s one back with everything inside
Dude, that was not only cool, but inspiring🎉
Only thing Mark isn’t factoring in would be the power of the universe. On my 13th birthday, I won like 3 jackpots on the same day. ABSOLUTELY INSANE. Lol unless the arcade did that on purpose to make me happy. 😂
Then it makes total sense.
@Jackson Gibbs I really don’t remember, but most likely they knew. 😂.
Did the people running the arcade know it was your birthday? If so, they probably did do it on purpose.
@Konversation Koopa thank you it was some of my best comedy
@Cerberus Combat MMA p
I used to own a couple of arcades and the percentage payout is down to the location. Well said
I always felt like places like Chuck E Cheese that just weighed the tickets instead of putting them in a counter was screwing you on the true amount of tickets you won.
I prefer getting physical tickets, partly because in the UK we don't have cards in arcades
Mark Rober's au'tis'tic s.on will be a failure and my content will be more important than he will ever be🤣 ahahahah
@AsianPersuasion jusy to get like 5 lollypops
The pez hack was some incredible on the spot engineering!!
Wow. I loved it.
Mark always comes up with the most interesting inventions
I went to an arcade the day this came out! It was so useful! Thank you so much!
Your an employee at a arcade store and you remember that Mark's Making a video there , you know that 3000+ kids are gonna be following him and the arcade breaks down.
Do u real liked a kid a merch of preston
I think they also use these beam brake detectors on the supermarket conveyor belt. It tells when there is your groceries at the end and detects when to stop.
I’ve said my whole life “arcades are casinos for kids but with zero regulation”
lmao
And you can't ruin your life by putting a second mortgage on the house
With experience games to further widen the loophole
Nope it’s casinos are arcades for audits.
Yup a lot of the same games are available in casinos with actually money..
Has to be hilarious for the greeter at the door seeing you go back and forth to your car to swap out the same backpack.
@squidman Seeing as arcades typically have a lot of children, they usually have someone at the entrance to make sure no kids wander off without their parents. They're called a greeter because they also greet people coming in
tf is a greeter
As a kid of the 80s and 90s, I miss the heyday of arcades where they were like movie theaters - the newest, best games were there first and months later would get a home release. It’s sad to me ticket games have totally taken over.
Ah the days where you don't have to pay 2$ for a lap of Mario Kart. How I love it
Well at least those "best" games can now be more accessible
He spends so much time making great videos 😊
What if when Mark was young, he lost so much money in arcade games he decided enough is enough,
and he studied Engineering for revenge😂😂
Why do I always feel like there’s a solenoid in everything he makes
Imagine walking into the arcade seeing 9 jackpots go off while a guy leaves with 9 different backpacks smiling
@ItzMalickKys you’ll never be anything
Bold of you to assume he doesn't have a single backpack that has all 9 functions
@ItzMalick that sounds like the most boring channel ever
Or one guy and his 8 friends each with a different backpack and each with a different jackpot win.
@ItzMalick 💀
"Sir why do you need 3 backpacks in an arcade"
Mark:
Arcade:
To carry home my won toys?
Such a cool find! The class and the labs sound addicting.
With al, the knowledge from your videos, I’m either going to follow my passion to be a scientist, or become a mechanical engineer.
If you wanna play all games, all you gotta do is bring your 10 backpacks, discretely, into the arcade 😅
I'm sure you can bring all 10 backpacks in together in a big pile. They don't need to be discrete. But you might get caught if they're continuous.
Love ya work, Mark. Looking forward to getting my kid and engineer friend some build boxes for this Christmas ❤
My favorite part is that his pez dispenser contraption is so much more simple than his original one.
Ikr
@SalKhayer Occam's pez dispenser lmao
@101jir woulldt even have crossed my mind, thanks
Yeah, but now he just has a Pile Bunker laying around. Never know when that could come in handy.
40 minutes in and I already think it’s going to be so fun. Your videos are always so freaking fun
I swear, Mark takes cheating in arcades to the next level
It's unnerving how incredibly smart he is...
Would love to see you do the fruit machines too 😂😂
Mark Rober is a national treasure
Mark out here making a side hustle of tutoring but in a way that is much cooler than just learning how to pass tests
Some of the older crane machines didn’t have the ability to be odds based basically there is adjustment wheels on one of the circuit boards inside to adjust how much grip the claws have.
You are awesome Mark! I am 40 but still get fascinated with all the stuff you do!
As someone who worked for 5 years at an unnamed major corporate arcade for children (🐭), I remember our district tech giving our district a range in which the redemption games had to be “rigged” based on the store budget. It was crazy.
You make engineering fun bro.
Always hated the maths...but end results it worth all of it
Imagine trying this 30 years ago when cards didn't exist. You'd need a second backpack just to hold all the paper tickets!
@Sodafied same
Bruh here i have never seen a card at an arcade, only paper tickets
We still have paper tickets
30 years ago, there were no arduinos or raspberry pis
Paper tickets are the best.
The dad finder is so useful I finally can find my dad after 15 years!
He is the best KZclipr imo, his videos are so interesting and the editing is very well done.
It's cool how he speaks science casually while everyone else has no idea what he's doing
This guy could potentially make the most watched video of all time someday.
As a mom of 3 boys, I thank you for your "cool" example of science.
Mark: makes a weapon,
Government: “What’s that for”
Mark: “beating my friend in the arcade”
@TK-7193 yes watr malone
@Sheriff_intheseparts water malone
Mark would create a knife that can slice any mineral like Titanium or something and someone will ask him why and he will just say "To cut my watermelon."
I dont think ur in the US
Lol
Awesome stuff, Mark!
I love the fact that all of the arcades he features are places I've taken my kids. We've taken that Quik Drop jackpot at Hyper Space more than once! 😀
Oh cool a verified person hiiii
Great channel, really interesting stuff!
It is so awesome to see him doing this in the golfland arcade where I grew up playing mini golf and playing arcade games because it was the closest mini golf course to my elementary school
The air hockey bag one looks hilarious! 🤣
This is fantastic.
it's cocacolastic
fantastic yessir 100% fire
Thabks 4 watching. Tune in next week to.find out if you're the dad
What do u do daniel
@James Patton I bet he didn’t even get 15 seconds into the video.
Love your content mark keep doing what your doing
The punching glove thing has Dr. Stone energy
@Solar Bear fr
at this point he's basically dr. stone
Imagine being that one guy who lost Air Hockey against a backpack 💀
Hey Mark! Big fan here. I was wondering if you ever had conduct a resonance experiment, but the sand is in a cube and sound is on all sides of the cube. Would the geometrical patterns be 3D or nah?
I love how the guy does not care that he’s playing against a backpack 😂 10:04

Why not both?
humans will never live on mars, so I think he chose his path well.
He chose to teach the child to get started as an engineer, who will then pave the way for life on mars!
This kind of content was definitely needed. Science videos like this will appeal to the younger audiences and teach them how that dorky nerdy stuff that they might think is boring now can apply to them in adulthood, or in the here and now even, and benefit them. Although Stackers is random in its payout, I win at least 30% of the time and the prizes are sometimes worth $15 or more, so $3 for a $15 item isn't bad.
@SmileInCam You high bro ?
A $15 "item" that costs 50c when bought in bulk from China.
Do u realised a kid a merch of preston
I didn’t know so many of these games involved lasers and stuff! Cool vid :D
Imagine being the boss of the arcade and see mark walk in. Mind: something bad bout to happen
Imagine being that kid watching what Mark is doing
Thankyou to the arcade for allowing Mark to do these tests
Mark can singlehandedly bankrupt the arcade sector if he wants to. He's just choosing not to.
Too late
There are consequences to doing that.
True
@Jeweled Peach that's a copy paste message, those "small channels" go around posting it under A LOT of random high-like comments on A LOT of different channels to get attention
I say - make HIM president. He'd run America a lot better as he is honest AND SMART (Which is EXACTLY what we DON'T have in the White House today).
Imagine being Mark's kid and going to the arcade with him
from the slowmo of the punch, i think you'll get more results by having larger surface area, less deformation in the ball and more momentum transfer
You better have gotten a charm for that backpack for basically carrying your jackpots
"A dad finder"
I can finally know for sure if my dad actually went to buy milk
This man's a literal genius. 😳
I love how Mark Rober is basically a more wholesome version of Tony Stark, who uses his insane engineering powers to beat shady arcade owners and porch pirates, rather than alien invaders.
But if the aliens ever show up, I can't wait to see how he will turn his warehouse into a Home Alone death trap.
@Slinger I do agree with the fact that doctors are incredibly different from engineers, but I would say a doctor needs some sense of engineering if they are working with tools, it's true a doctor needs a different subset of skills in order to make a diagnosis but at the end of the day a doctor needs to know how to use the proper tools to treat your medical condition/ diagnosis.
A team up with Nerd Explains to overanaylize the alien invaders' mistakes could be fun
@Blue Flash best response of 2022
@Slinger depends HEAVILY on what type of engineer. I used to sail on commercial ships as Chief Engineer and have a Marine Engineering degree. The steps you listed doctors do are very applicable there.
Doing rounds in the engine room, checking temperatures/pressures of running machinery, diagnosing problems, using instruments (like a voltmeter) to gather data, rectifying issues based on the diagnosis.
Low budget, geeky Tony Stark
I am impressed with ur dedication to the craft hat tip to u sir. You took cheating to a whole different level
Mark your channel is awesome. My kid watches it every day. You are his hero.
To be honest, I really want to be an engineer like him. Im just too young for now.
This is probably the best American entertainment I have seen in at least 15 years. It makes me miss the days of that show "Mr. Wizard"
In some arcade machines I found around the world, some sounds alarms if you’re only getting high scores for example, as it raises suspicion.
Such a banger video Mark!
Yeah, I love how he rickrolled us: 20:06
Oh no! We’ve been discovered!
Yea
@EmptyStudent oh nvm sorry
@EmptyStudent 2*
I watched the previous video with regards to claw games, and I was on holiday and saw one still on settings after check up, so I changed the setting to payout every time (obviously provided you can actually grab it).
You are awesome bro. Keep it up. You are one of the real ones.
Mark casually walking into arcades with 5 back packs
still pretty epic that you managed to make a robot in a few days that punches almost as hard as this guy's muscles which he's been building for years
I guess you could say he’s been building his knowledge for years though
I wonder what Mark does for 'fun' and relaxation.
Its always baffled me how its not illegal for arcade games to be deceptive about skill based looking games
@JordanLofgren Funny how you go dead silent for 3 days about the initial discussion, but speak up at the same day when someone crosses the line and goes personal.
I dont think youre going to answer but still, did you atleast see and acknowledge how mistaken you were with your argument?
@JordanLofgren capitalism brain
so in turn, you are allowed on cheat them
@no fbi Imagine stalking someone's profile to try to make a point.
@JordanLofgren You're someone who has added 85 ASMR videos to a playlist. I wouldn't be talking.
Mark, you are the Rube Goldberg of practical engineering! Love it!
Heath and Rube are looking down proudly
These are THE BEST. So fun to see science applied in the place most of us spent time happily losing our money as kids. REVENGE.. XD XD XD
Time for mark to open a fair arcade and magically turn a profit. Would love to see CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!
I Thank Mark for Inspiring my daughters interest in science.
It’s funny how no matter the solution, whether it is training or going to college, both essentially tell the viewer to, “Git gud.” 😂
What I love about Mark is that he makes STEM appealing and fun for kids, making kids more likely to go for STEM majors, a true service to society.
nah history and social sciences for LIFE BABY
@mark_ chill out 😂
@Duck Meat yeah it ain’t the same 🥲
@AlmightyK Chill out it’s a joke. But if you really think the future is bright in the USA you are tapped.
If they didnt care about studying STEM before, they aint gonna care now. Don't set your entire college education and all those student debts based off a youtube video, kids.
I mainly just go to arcades for fun. Even as someone that's almost 20 I still find them fun to go to lol.
What a great video i enjoyed every second of it !
Leaving a backpack like that anywhere would probably have someone call on you no matter what.
