You're getting it a bit wrong. When you have a team that makes every single play just for you, your chance of scoring grow fast. Especially when you have beasts like Iniesta and Xavi behind you. Also, Spanish league is not famous for having strong defenders. That said, he's an outclass, an absolute legend but don't overexagerate the thing, there are better players in history. You can say that for his times he's one of the greatest, and I agree, but of all times... well... no. Think about people like Nordahl, Pelè, Maradona, Romario, Sivori, Altafini, Meazza, Zico and in more recent times Totti, Del Piero, Shearer and the list goes on.
I remember watching FCB matches, seeing him dribbling players, and always thought he would never do that against an English team. After watching the 08/09 final against Man United, I started following Messi. I just could not believe how he kept going past players when he dribbles, it just looked impossible. When I saw the Ankara Messi goal, I was convinced that no football player will ever score a more perfect goal. I just get goosebumps when I see Messi dribble.

His overall ability to completely take over a game by himself has always been absurd. Ronaldo could never do that. It is a team game but Messi has always had a way to make people forget that. Messi is just simply in a league of his own and always has been. No other footballer has been able to so consistently capture pure magic with their plays before. The kind of football where you just believe that if he has the ball literally anything could happen. The day Messi retires will be a sad day for all who love football.

He’s like a Hollywood version of a football player except he’s actually real. What you see on the pitch is actually real. I’m blown away.

Messi = Magician. You can’t simply replicate anything he does. Truly a legend. I’m a CR7 fan btw but I love them almost equally! While Messi makes me fall in love with football even more, Ronaldo inspires me as a person and Goal machine. I just wish we can wind back time and witness these both legends again :)

haha I'm sorry but Messi is by far the better player. Ronaldo makes the best out of his opportunities. Messi creates them himself. When looking at the greatest players to ever play the game you have to take into account all of their abilities and not just the statistics. Messi is by far the best rounded forward to ever play the game and Ronaldo isn't even top 5. Messi has better ball control, better touches, better deliveries and better shots. His overall ability to completely take over a game by himself has always been absurd. Ronaldo could never do that. It is a team game but Messi has always had a way to make people forget that. I'm not trying to hate on Ronaldo here. He's still a great player. I just don't think he deserves the praise that he's always been showered with. I've never thought of him as anything truly special. He's just not the kind of player to consistently inspire people with his plays.
