Great in-depth breakdown from start to finish. Roddy is at a point in his career rn where he just needs to constantly drop for his core fans he still got left and build back up his momentum. I personally still have faith in Roddy due to how talented he is but only time will tell
Appreciate that bro real talk and I agree with you he has to start feeding his core audience and built up that momentum again. I say just go back to the basics and start releasing a music video every week for a new song or something like that he got to start being more on the scene right now.
One of my favorite rappers of this generation. I’m not much of a fan of the new rap scene but his music’s subject matter and hooks felt like fresh breath of air in a formulaic field. To me I think that break hurt his momentum. Unless your Kendrick or JCole with a fanbase that’s been built over time it’s hard to gain your audience back in this era of fast food music. I really hope he keeps grinding and works his way back up. He’s too talented to get lost in the shuffle.
Absolutely agree! He waited wayyyyyyy too long and possibly got too comfortable way too soon. I didn’t even stream LLF, but Roddy is superrrrr talented, I’m sure he can make a comeback no doubt. Hopefully he’s learned from his mistakes. I’m more into r&b so I have never liked any rap artist enough to download/buy their full albums/mixtapes since Nicki Minaj in early 2007-2009. Roddy is the first person since then whose full mixtape/album that I’ve listened to and fully enjoyed. Feed the streets 1 and 2 are my all time favorite to date and stay on repeat. ❤
He needs to go the tpain route and be the hook man until he gets right. Honestly with his voice there’s no reason for him to ever fall off. He could be like Ty$ or partynextdoor and kill some hooks for a minute
I still hope he comes back & takes his throne back… His antisocial album really did it for me and he was just so different from any other rapper I’ve ever heard. Till this day I have so much respect for him for not being afraid to create a new sound coming from Cali💙 I think that’s what really did it for me… I’m still rooting for you dawg.
Can't lie he did get comfortable and think shit is sweet but I think he still has potential to comeback and the comeback is so much better than the come up 💪🏾Roddy be OK he just need to put all that clown shit behind him and stay focused on his business and stay about his bread.
It’s amazing how speaker knockerz is so influential, I’m glad I got to see his beginnings to his end and now you see his influence all over the rap game. He definitely would’ve been a big player in hip hop if he was here today.
i honestly think he just waited too damn long. if you take a long break like he did you have to come back with an undeniable banger of a project… you have to follow up. you did a great job on this brother. def got potential keep goin! subbed
I agree with everything you said, I most certainly believe if he would of dropped LLF 6 or 7 months after Antisocial… the overwhelming hate wouldn’t of been as bad and people would of brushed it under the rug. With him taking two yrs to release another album it build the anticipation up to a level where it almost have to be a masterpiece to make up for lost time. Appreciate the love bro.
I liked Roddy. But he seemed to have thought that becuz Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial was well received that he can take constant breaks and drop a random project whenever he wanted and dip and it would also be well received. But he forgot that nowadays, rappers are unfortunately forgettable and if ur not consistent, u will fall into the endless sea of One Hit Wonders
@Take one Tarantino not according to his album sales. And carti has been in the game long and and built a big fanbase enough to he able to do that. Roddy hasn't.
Eh.. carti hasn’t dropped a project since 2020.. he’s still highly talked about.. no features no nothing. Roddy isn’t a one hit wonder, y’all just stopped listening to him after that album dropped. He’s still dropping heat.
>>>If an artist as big as Drake drops music consistently then who does he think he is to wanna do otherwise. He sabotaged himself thinking he was already a household name like Kendrick lol
People keep saying he’ll bounce back but bro it’s been a year since LLF & if anything his career has been dipping more into irrelevancy. He dropped an EP & Mixtape last year. And in the span of less than a few weeks, he’s been forgotten. For some he’s already out of the public eye. I feel like to redeem his career and get back in the momentum of going on an upwards slope, he has to dominate features on iconic album/tracks to then drop an album in solidifying his place. The fact one of the biggest pop stars globally Justin Bieber, had to deadass post to have his fans stream his song to get it to #1 to attempt and beat Roddy on the charts is one of the fattest W’s I’ve seen. I hope Roddy comes back in full swing, dude has a lot of potential/talent.
Let’s be honest…fans don’t like growth, they complain about change but when it’s time for change they complain, Nothing wrong wit his music he’s just looking for a better sound yet the sales don’t match
if he keeps dropping he'll eventually get a hit that brings him back into the spotlight where he can have his chance to get into the mainstream but until then he has just fallen into obscurity
He waited long because Roddy rich a quality over Quanity type artist. But I guess it depends on the artist and fanbase I’m guessing only certain artists can take years off and comeback
I agree Roddy is a quality over Quantity type artist but when you put yourself in that box you got to deliver on every project you release and I don’t think LLF did that, if he would of released LLF 6 to 7 months after antisocial I don’t think the hate would of been as bad in all honesty.
I see where u going with this .. in some ways u R right but the dude is still mad young and has plenty of talent to still re vamp his early promising career ! He def has lost a step in quality of music in my opinion.. he still has a good enough catalog to be a piece to la rap scene! We’ll see what he does in the next 3-5 years
That 2nd album also flipped because his team (hopefully unknowingly) reached out to many artists during c19 asking for songs offering fake deals and trying to snake peoples bank account ....once again if\if not hope he wasn't involved
One thing u forgot to mention is roddy went no.1 again with dababy on rockstar in 2020. His career was still at a all time high cuz of that and the pop smoke feature
Man roddi still better than most these Yung UNS out here, more harmonious, sounds the same way live as he does on his recordings, lyrical with a great stage presence too his Catalog will stand the test of time🎤🎧🇰🇳
I knew when Roddy spoke against the industry, it may go left. Industry is always watching and they really don't like dudes trying to expose shit. Can't bite the hand
Exactly he didn’t build a big enough core audience for that, I think the success of “the box” kind of blinded him to how far away he was from being on the level to where he could wait yrs project 2 project.
Melodic cadence...i don't think u can locked in fans necessarily with a style like that..alone..but then again i'm a least used to rapper's having memorable barz, as well as cadence..🤷🏽♂️
I agree this may be one of the main reasons why. But I new it from antisocial I gave that album a full listen and was extremely disappointed that besides the box and maybe one other song it lacked n just sounded like he was deliberately copying future and young thug. So a combination of those two plus Covid-19/no shows and him not being present on the internet when ppl were quarantined n hooked to social media really hit his career hard.
🎶 *”I will never sell my soul - and I can back that”* 🎶 *I feel like the ones in the industry who don’t go along with the whole “selling your soul” BS, they’re most definitely going to struggle.* * Bc then you become a threat to the enemy, so he will attack trying to break you.* *Like Kanye is a great example - Now that he’s trying to change his life & give it to God, He’s losing from his Billion Dollar empire!* *It’s not just in the industry, regular people too. Them tickets on that tour he went on with Post Malone was rich people prices. That music might not be big but I know that bag crazy. Fuck music, people change up on you too quick these days. That’s the curse of being a black artist, you gotta please niggas and that’s not fair. Cause niggas wired to hate.
I reside in Florida as well, you right they do still play him but not none of his recent singles. Just his hits like Ballin, Rockstar, The Woo, and of course The Box.
Idk how much of a effect lil peep would of had me personally but I 100 percent agree with you with Juice Wrld and XXX they was pushing boundaries and experimenting with new sounds. If those two was alive “street rap” would not be as prominent as it is today.
I think y’all just stopped listening to him after his first album.. roddy has some great projects that he’s recently dropped.. he didn’t fall off if we’re being honest here.
Quality over quantity any day…I’d rather wait on some 🔥 vs him rushing to put out music just to appease fans who ain’t loyal anyway. You supposed to be able to take time off to live life so that you actually have something to rap about. And people wonder why everything is sounding the same nowadays….
“Thinking he was Kendrick Lamar when he wasn’t” Couldn’t have said it any better…. This dude is super talented but I feel he let it go to his head a lil too much. Pride comes before the fall. He shouldve stayed consistent with the quality music not wait 2 years to drop some mid.
@July Jackson he came to Houston when post Malone was doing a show. He appeared but from what I seen, it looked like he just seem very relax and unmotivated during the show. He made it regardless generational wealth.
Idk if it’s true but I read on a Reddit page that Roddy ex engineer exposed that Roddy kind of damaged his voice because he started singing live vocals when he did shows and club appearances and haven’t really recovered from it. Either way it go your right, it feels like he’s not hitting the notes the same way and settling just to rap lyrics which isn’t his strong point.
How about he lives and experiences life so he can create good music. Everyone nowadays have the shortest attention span. It’s only been like a year and a half. Dood isn’t worried about what people think. When he drops another good album, this whole falloff will disappear.
I feel you. The short attention spans of the listeners be having these artist rush to put out BS to appease them and be considered “relevant”. People don’t care about talent these days. It’s a popularity contest.
It’s funny you say this because I showed a clip in this video where he said he was caring too much about what social media thought and it was getting to him 🤣 but do your thing bro.
Willing to bet he probably was going thru something with his label but either way if you don’t got that Rihanna/ Beyoncé type fan base, you can’t be going ghost then try to bounce back with some mid
@July Jackson i have 12 songs of that album on my rap playlist some of them i skip depending on my mood but the ones i never skip are murda one, thailand and all good
Didn’t cover it because i had made my point and FTS 3 was a below average project compared to his other FTS mixtapes. FTS 3 was forgotten after the first week and sold less then his previous two projects (Antisocial & LLF) if I would of covered FTS3 in this video it wouldn’t have made no sense unless I was going to pile on him and that wasn’t the goal of this video. The goal was how he had falling to grace and what he should do to get back on top. His upcoming album will be the determining factor.
@Jy’ King You right as of this moment he’s still poppin but you can tell no matter how much the industry push him, people starting to realize Lil Baby is not growing as a artist.
His first album sounded too much like a knock off future/ young thug album. It felt like they wrote that joint fr. It’s hard to sustain consistency trying to use somebody else’s sauce. It was commercially successful but he got away from his own sound that gained his cult following
HipHop has became a joke, especially the listener. All these fans now follow narratives instead of the music, and artist could drop an album that doesnt hit as there previous and instead of giving an artist another chance they discard them.
Double....you are right....sometime the album will just sound diff, have diff production or show growth.....and that's enough for people to discard you
Ngl I heard a rumor that he also just broke his voice super early. There’s merit to it bc he can’t sing and do melodies as well now as he used to in PEMFBAS.
I heard about that as well look down in comments I told somebody that like a week ago, just like you I heard he damaged his voice while touring, his ex engineer exposed it and it all makes sense fr.
It really did I don’t think people understood the effect of how much he wasn’t able to really capabilities on the moment. Once in a lifetime moment at that, it’ll be very hard for Roddy to make another “The Box”
Word biggest fell off and A whack sophomore album The dude is actually nice and he’s very talented but I feel like the production work on the second album was not done right it didn’t cater to his flows. He kind of replayed the same flows over and over. It just wasn’t what the first album was. It didn’t live up to it.
Roddy was / is a Series A rapper acting like he IPOed. He was a high-growth business acting like he matured. 2 years hiatus with no developed social media presence in this day just shows he and his mgmt don’t understand the lay of the land of the modern consumer, regardless of talent. And it’s not as if his music is filled with quadruple entendres that you’d decipher later like Jay-Z’s reasonable doubt or something. The Box was driven by social media from tiktok. Him going on Clubhouse to argue with gangbanging bums to flex just further shows he doesn’t understand how to move given his current scale.
Who cares. When these artist up they barely speak to their fans and often down the very audience that supports them which os mainly black women most likely darker. He has said countless things about them. His preferences and men need to support him also.
I don’t think he fell off. I just think he don’t give a fuck about the Internet some folks don’t care about no INTEREST don’t want nothing to do with it. I would definitely get my money and get gone who gives a damn about a fan when you’re dealing with real life
@PlayBoi Matrix If your saying “The Box” his last hit then yeah I agree with you on that. He hasn’t had another hit since “The Box” that’s just a fact.
Great in-depth breakdown from start to finish. Roddy is at a point in his career rn where he just needs to constantly drop for his core fans he still got left and build back up his momentum. I personally still have faith in Roddy due to how talented he is but only time will tell
@July Jackson pray for me is soo beautiful he got a whole catalog of leaked hits tho pretty much all better than the stuff hes been dropping
@SERGE KOFFI™ He got a few leaks that I feel are hits fr, it’s one song called (Pray 4 Me) it’s on KZclip somewhere fire 🔥 ass song bro.
@July Jackson he needs to drop the leaks that way he might actually make a few instagram headlilnes while pleasing the fan base
Appreciate that bro real talk and I agree with you he has to start feeding his core audience and built up that momentum again. I say just go back to the basics and start releasing a music video every week for a new song or something like that he got to start being more on the scene right now.

@July Jackson Absolutely!
R&B definitely is a vibe and don’t get enough credit as it should in my opinion.
He needs to go the tpain route and be the hook man until he gets right. Honestly with his voice there’s no reason for him to ever fall off. He could be like Ty$ or partynextdoor and kill some hooks for a minute

What throne? He made 2 hits which was fire no cap, but he only had 2-3 hits, drake have 100’s, Kendrick is way way better, where is the throne lol
@NEVER HUNGRY AGAIN nah lol
@Heemtimes Ten but somehow still sounds different from them
“ he’s so different from any rapper I ever heard “ lol he’s a blend of future and thug
Can't lie he did get comfortable and think shit is sweet but I think he still has potential to comeback and the comeback is so much better than the come up 💪🏾Roddy be OK he just need to put all that clown shit behind him and stay focused on his business and stay about his bread.

@July Jackson you ain’t lying, they both really was ahead of their time.
I always think about what could have been with him and Lil Snupe.
Roddy is still fire as ever. Constantly on my playlist and on my reference mix tracks.
fr he lit, that llf was a hit to me like every album i skip like three songs 🤷🏾♂️
i honestly think he just waited too damn long. if you take a long break like he did you have to come back with an undeniable banger of a project… you have to follow up.
you did a great job on this brother. def got potential keep goin! subbed

Agreed. Well said bro
Roddy really just getting started. Talent outweighs speculation - he’s one of those that will release hits forever and always “come back”
He'll be back like he never left. he has to much talent
His feature run after Antisocial was amazing. 4 da gang & Pure Souls take me back to fond memories
People keep saying he’ll bounce back but bro it’s been a year since LLF & if anything his career has been dipping more into irrelevancy. He dropped an EP & Mixtape last year. Naw I thought he’d bounce back with FTS 3
2020 was all about the box, bird box, ballot box, quarantine box and so forth😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Let’s be honest…fans don’t like growth, they complain about change but when it’s time for change they complain, Nothing wrong wit his music he’s just looking for a better sound yet the sales don’t match
90% business 10% talent. He didn't know the business.
Hoping for the best for Roddy ❤🙏
if he keeps dropping he'll eventually get a hit that brings him back into the spotlight where he can have his chance to get into the mainstream but until then he has just fallen into obscurity
He probably didn’t sell his soul/sacrifice someone. We all know he has crazy talent and ahead of everyone else.
He waited long because Roddy rich a quality over Quanity type artist. But I guess it depends on the artist and fanbase I’m guessing only certain artists can take years off and comeback

Once “The Box” hit the scene, it was over for ERRBODY! That was a time man… smh.
Right before Covid too, when life was normal.
I fw this bro! You didnt bash Roddy like alot of youtubers would do for clout. You stated facts. Keep it going 💯
not having an active insta contributed a whole lot to the slide i like him and love the music but social media cant be overlooked
I agree with you on this point.
I see where u going with this .. in some ways u R right but the dude is still mad young and has plenty of talent to still re vamp his early promising career ! He def has lost a step in quality of music in my opinion.. he still has a good enough catalog to be a piece to la rap scene! We’ll see what he does in the next 3-5 years
One thing about Roddy though is he came up off his talent so he’ll be good regardless
That 2nd album also flipped because his team (hopefully unknowingly) reached out to many artists during c19 asking for songs offering fake deals and trying to snake peoples bank account ....once again if\if not hope he wasn't involved
He still can redeem himself with the next album
@July Jackson let's hope this ages well
Yeah Roddy is literally a hit away from being the guy again.
One thing u forgot to mention is roddy went no.1 again with dababy on rockstar in 2020. His career was still at a all time high cuz of that and the pop smoke feature
I wouldn’t say all time high, his peak so far has been “The Box” but your right I could have added those songs.
He can come back up! Never too late!!!
Man roddi still better than most these Yung UNS out here, more harmonious, sounds the same way live as he does on his recordings, lyrical with a great stage presence too his Catalog will stand the test of time🎤🎧🇰🇳
Awesome vid bro Keep Grinding✊🏾
Appreciate that bro.
Know your levels roddy4lyfe ❤️
I knew when Roddy spoke against the industry, it may go left. Industry is always watching and they really don't like dudes trying to expose shit. Can't bite the hand
Feed the streets 2 was a banger still got multiple songs from that album on my playlist down below one of my favorite songs
FTS 2 was 🔥
I had already called it, i liked a fw of his songs, but something just wouldn't allow me to hop full on his bandwagon
He got good music ❤I won’t lie
He does, he always got a puncher chance because he knows how to make a good record.
Big ups to Roddy he still cool to me.
How you feel about FTS 3 ?
When he dropped his album he disappeared he should’ve stayed on our neck
Roddy thought he could pull a cole or kendrick taking a year to drop..hell na😂😂
Exactly he didn’t build a big enough core audience for that, I think the success of “the box” kind of blinded him to how far away he was from being on the level to where he could wait yrs project 2 project.
Great Narration Keep making Vids Like this.
Appreciate that bruh, I will.
He fell off
Everybody falls off at one point or another
Melodic cadence...i don't think u can locked in fans necessarily with a style like that..alone..but then again i'm a least used to rapper's having memorable barz, as well as cadence..🤷🏽♂️

I honestly didn’t think live life fast was as bad as everyone was saying !!
Its just facts! Good video!
Nice video cover on this guy. ❤❤❤
Boi Roddy still on the radio down in fl 🚀
@July Jackson high fashion and I'm forgetting another one either way dude fall off my goal

Good video , the Big 3 was solid!!
I think Roddy fell off personally that’s how it is when you sound like every one out you fall into obscurity fast
finna honest..RR doing jst good
I think y’all just stopped listening to him after his first album.. roddy has some great projects that he’s recently dropped.. he didn’t fall off if we’re being honest here.
He's too emotional
Quality over quantity any day…I’d rather wait on some 🔥 vs him rushing to put out music just to appease fans who ain’t loyal anyway. You supposed to be able to take time off to live life so that you actually have something to rap about. And people wonder why everything is sounding the same nowadays….
There was allot of politics going on with his neighborhood and the industry behind the scenes

he not singing his ass off like he used to, bro jus got complacent fr

The comment I was looking for
I ain't gone lie I never heard of Roddy Rich until Racks in the Middle
Damn! That’s crazy
Mans eyes soulless frfr
Like every dime-a-dozen, he fell off.
Fell off? He still has at least 3 songs on mainstream radio on constant rotation. Urban Radio Pop Radio sometimes Blues&RB radio.
This shoulda been Roddy decade
Great video ! Just Subscribed !
Appreciate that bro.
I completely forgot he existed
Willing to bet he probably was going thru something with his label but either way if you don’t got that Rihanna/ Beyoncé type fan base, you can’t be going ghost then try to bounce back with some mid
@Chad Harris yea relative to quality lol
Mid as in a bud reference lol?
Ballin is a new fav 😉🐸
i enjoyed llf there is a few skips but overral a 7/10 album for me
@July Jackson i have 12 songs of that album on my rap playlist some of them i skip depending on my mood but the ones i never skip are murda one, thailand and all good
This the best rating I heard for that album.
Before I clicked this video I ain't heard his name in a few months
WRITERS BLOCK!!! HE WILL GET BACK 🔙 ON, AND FIND HIS GROVE!!!
Great video homie
Appreciate that bro.
he stilll litt what yall taliking about ..still doing fire hooks..listen to his song ft symba🌋🌋
That new symba song hard though not even going to lie.
Great video bro
Appreciate that bro, I’m a fan of your content keep up the great work.
I feel like he made his money and dipped out honestly.
You didn’t cover feed the streets 3 what’s the climate after that album
Didn’t cover it because i had made my point and FTS 3 was a below average project compared to his other FTS mixtapes. Honestly Roddy and Lil Baby are in the same position currently.
@Ultron Rocko agree was just speaking on they second albums not considered as good as the previous ones
Lil baby on a whole nother level bruh
@Jy’ King You right as of this moment he’s still poppin but you can tell no matter how much the industry push him, people starting to realize Lil Baby is not growing as a artist.
Lil Baby on his way out the door if his next project don’t deliver. He’s still living off the success of My Turn, that’s coming to a end though.
Hell nuh lil baby still popping in still around he be on commercials selling out hella shows and everything he was even on snl
Miss that Younger Ricch Crip Nigga🗣️🌠🙏🗣️🇳🇬
@July Jackson 💯💯
Old Roddy undefeated he can make a comeback though.
Double....you are right....sometime the album will just sound diff, have diff production or show growth.....and that's enough for people to discard you
Nah..people make videos when these rappers fell off but when their career popping dont say shxt..not everyone wanna see u wining😴😴😌😏
Everybody was praising Roddy when he was on top though…
Ngl I heard a rumor that he also just broke his voice super early. There’s merit to it bc he can’t sing and do melodies as well now as he used to in PEMFBAS.
I heard about that as well look down in comments I told somebody that like a week ago, just like you I heard he damaged his voice while touring, his ex engineer exposed it and it all makes sense fr.
Covid killed his career
Thets methed up. Covid19 did Roddy dirty
Everything you said is 💯 percent facts.
Don’t speak to soon nipsey said roddy the one
Roddy still got time, he ain’t all the way down and out.
Wait roddy still the shit he went nowhere...clout man
Subed👊🏾
Who cares. When these artist up they barely speak to their fans and often down the very audience that supports them which os mainly black women most likely darker. He has said countless things about them. His preferences and men need to support him also.
Nothing happened...he is who he is ...that's it
I don’t think he fell off. I just think he don’t give a fuck about the Internet some folks don’t care about no INTEREST don’t want nothing to do with it. I would definitely get my money and get gone who gives a damn about a fan when you’re dealing with real life
Ft3 was good tho
It was decent bruh, I’m waiting on his next album to truly judge him.
he don't want to be a slave for this labels and wear a skirt.
He's not selling his soul for this music shit
He sound too much like future
🤣
Bruh music been mid to me. 🤷🏽♂️
whats going on with your career?
Did somebody said Atlantic records? I’m out
🤣🤣🤣
Nah it's just nobody listened to him after the box when u say roddy rich that's all people think is the box
@July Jackson yup
@PlayBoi Matrix If your saying “The Box” his last hit then yeah I agree with you on that. He hasn’t had another hit since “The Box” that’s just a fact.
@July Jackson yea but you cannot tell me that y'all didn't stop listening to him after the box
I ain’t going to say that bro, he got a couple more hits to his resume for sure.
