Great in-depth breakdown from start to finish. Roddy is at a point in his career rn where he just needs to constantly drop for his core fans he still got left and build back up his momentum. I personally still have faith in Roddy due to how talented he is but only time will tell

Appreciate that bro real talk and I agree with you he has to start feeding his core audience and built up that momentum again. I say just go back to the basics and start releasing a music video every week for a new song or something like that he got to start being more on the scene right now.

  • Sports Talk With Planet Jadarius

One of my favorite rappers of this generation. I’m not much of a fan of the new rap scene but his music’s subject matter and hooks felt like fresh breath of air in a formulaic field. To me I think that break hurt his momentum. Unless your Kendrick or JCole with a fanbase that’s been built over time it’s hard to gain your audience back in this era of fast food music. I really hope he keeps grinding and works his way back up. He’s too talented to get lost in the shuffle.

Absolutely agree! He waited wayyyyyyy too long and possibly got too comfortable way too soon. I didn’t even stream LLF, but Roddy is superrrrr talented, I’m sure he can make a comeback no doubt. Hopefully he’s learned from his mistakes. I’m more into r&b so I have never liked any rap artist enough to download/buy their full albums/mixtapes since Nicki Minaj in early 2007-2009. Roddy is the first person since then whose full mixtape/album that I’ve listened to and fully enjoyed. Feed the streets 1 and 2 are my all time favorite to date and stay on repeat. ❤

He needs to go the tpain route and be the hook man until he gets right. Honestly with his voice there’s no reason for him to ever fall off. He could be like Ty$ or partynextdoor and kill some hooks for a minute

I still hope he comes back & takes his throne back… His antisocial album really did it for me and he was just so different from any other rapper I’ve ever heard. Till this day I have so much respect for him for not being afraid to create a new sound coming from Cali💙 I think that’s what really did it for me… I’m still rooting for you dawg.

I agree with everything you said, I most certainly believe if he would of dropped LLF 6 or 7 months after Antisocial… the overwhelming hate wouldn’t of been as bad and people would of brushed it under the rug. With him taking two yrs to release another album it build the anticipation up to a level where it almost have to be a masterpiece to make up for lost time. Appreciate the love bro.

I liked Roddy. But he seemed to have thought that becuz Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial was well received that he can take constant breaks and drop a random project whenever he wanted and dip and it would also be well received. But he forgot that nowadays, rappers are unfortunately forgettable and if ur not consistent, u will fall into the endless sea of One Hit Wonders

People keep saying he’ll bounce back but bro it’s been a year since LLF & if anything his career has been dipping more into irrelevancy. He dropped an EP & Mixtape last year. And in the span of less than a few weeks, he’s been forgotten. For some he’s already out of the public eye. I feel like to redeem his career and get back in the momentum of going on an upwards slope, he has to dominate features on iconic album/tracks to then drop an album in solidifying his place. The fact one of the biggest pop stars globally Justin Bieber, had to deadass post to have his fans stream his song to get it to #1 to attempt and beat Roddy on the charts is one of the fattest W’s I’ve seen. I hope Roddy comes back in full swing, dude has a lot of potential/talent.

I agree this may be one of the main reasons why. But I new it from antisocial I gave that album a full listen and was extremely disappointed that besides the box and maybe one other song it lacked n just sounded like he was deliberately copying future and young thug. So a combination of those two plus Covid-19/no shows and him not being present on the internet when ppl were quarantined n hooked to social media really hit his career hard.

*Like Kanye is a great example - Now that he’s trying to change his life & give it to God, He’s losing from his Billion Dollar empire!*
*It’s not just in the industry, regular people too. It’s so hard. But as long as you have God by your side & you stay in faith during the hardest times, it will pass!*

Didn’t cover it because i had made my point and FTS 3 was a below average project compared to his other FTS mixtapes. FTS 3 was forgotten after the first week and sold less then his previous two projects (Antisocial & LLF) if I would of covered FTS3 in this video it wouldn’t have made no sense unless I was going to pile on him and that wasn’t the goal of this video. The goal was how he had falling to grace and what he should do to get back on top. His upcoming album will be the determining factor.

His first album sounded too much like a knock off future/ young thug album. It felt like they wrote that joint fr. It’s hard to sustain consistency trying to use somebody else’s sauce. It was commercially successful but he got away from his own sound that gained his cult following

HipHop has became a joke, especially the listener. All these fans now follow narratives instead of the music, and artist could drop an album that doesnt hit as there previous and instead of giving an artist another chance they discard them.

Double....you are right....sometime the album will just sound diff, have diff production or show growth.....and that's enough for people to discard you

Ngl I heard a rumor that he also just broke his voice super early. There’s merit to it bc he can’t sing and do melodies as well now as he used to in PEMFBAS.

I heard about that as well look down in comments I told somebody that like a week ago, just like you I heard he damaged his voice while touring, his ex engineer exposed it and it all makes sense fr.

It really did I don’t think people understood the effect of how much he wasn’t able to really capabilities on the moment. Once in a lifetime moment at that, it’ll be very hard for Roddy to make another “The Box”

Word biggest fell off and A whack sophomore album The dude is actually nice and he’s very talented but I feel like the production work on the second album was not done right it didn’t cater to his flows. He kind of replayed the same flows over and over. It just wasn’t what the first album was. It didn’t live up to it.

Roddy was / is a Series A rapper acting like he IPOed. He was a high-growth business acting like he matured. 2 years hiatus with no developed social media presence in this day just shows he and his mgmt don’t understand the lay of the land of the modern consumer, regardless of talent. And it’s not as if his music is filled with quadruple entendres that you’d decipher later like Jay-Z’s reasonable doubt or something. The Box was driven by social media from tiktok. Him going on Clubhouse to argue with gangbanging bums to flex just further shows he doesn’t understand how to move given his current scale.

I don’t think he fell off. I just think he don’t give a fuck about the Internet some folks don’t care about no INTEREST don’t want nothing to do with it. I would definitely get my money and get gone who gives a damn about a fan when you’re dealing with real life
