actually about set me free. he said on zach sang that he remembered about the SA he faced as a child after he already written the song and found a relevance that way too about letting it all go. it wasnt written about it.

I’m so excited about this! I listen to secret so often. Set me free is a hard listen because He said it’s also about him being sexually abused by an older man when he was younger. Also, the blue of the nails matching the shirt is so cute!

I felt your reaction to set me free. It's by far my favourite Joshua basset song it never fails to give me chills. I'm sure someone has probably already told you but Joshua said to him the song is partly about his SA as a child and teenager. It would be awesome to see you react to his interview with Zach sang, he goes into a lot of stuff that has happened to him leading up to this ep. Generally I think hearing him talk about his trauma's and philosophies is really interesting. He expresses himself in a very articulate and insightful way that I personally find very thought provoking.
I also would highly recommend you react (or at least listen on your own time) to Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo because they are both just extremely extremely talented young women. I myself am I huge Sabrina fan and have been for years. She's very underrated but she has released 5 studio albums since she was 15 and makes really good music. While bofe driver's license and crisis and heartbreaking and incredible songs I think "because I liked a boy" from her new album tops everything else that came out of this situation. She states things in such a simple way in that song it really lays down not only the hate but the slut shaming she dealt with in a way that hits you in the guts. It also illustrates really well how useless and nonsensical the whole situation was (I mean the music video is a literal circus. She's calling us all clowns). So definitely recommend that one.

I feel like you were right about the story timeline, Crisis, Secrets then Set Me Free. My interpretation of it was first he was addressing the situation/break up, then the relationship/break up that came after that and finally him learning and loving himself.

his songs are very speciel! I'd recommend listening to more from him, personally I cant believe I've lived wihout his music lol. Your reaction to set me free was literally me when I heard and honestly every time I hear it!! It is nothing less but beautiful!!

So Olivia Rodrigo and Josh were dating and then Josh started dating Sabrina Carpenter. Olivia basically wrote her whole album about Josh and fans went crazy (sending him death threats, hate, etc.) All that hate made him go into septic shock and heart failure. Olivia never said anything about the situation/never put her fans in line. Once he was ready, he put out these songs. The "secret" is that Olivia was (allegedly) cheating on Josh.

While i love Josh's music, I feel like I identify more with Olivia's music, hers seems sincere, it took him a year to respond, of course he had time to choose his words wisely and finesse his response to save his image. I don't trust him. He talks about her not wasting a crisis, but who was suddenly dropping song after song at the same time as her to ride off of her fame. Sabrina Carpenter is a queen and they both seem to have a similar opinion on his personality, they both wrote songs about how he played them.

Ah! and about the drama.
I'm not gonna pick sides or put the blame on any of them. I'll just explain a little the situation so you can catch up a bit.
So the people involved are Joshua Basset, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sabrina Carpenter.
All of them are Disney kids or actors. Sabrina was in Disney before because she is older and she played in a TV show. Joshua and Olivia are in the HSMTMTS the actual TV show about the High School "Univers". They play Ricky and Nina that are a couple in the show.
Basically, they started dating as we know in real life or had something. But some things happened and in a short period of time and Joshua started dating or having something with Sabrina. They broke up too in a short period of time.
We don't really know because is their private life so...we can't put blame or hate on any of them because it was their story.
I don't know a lot about de details. Someone correct me if I said something wrong. (No bad moods or hate in the comments plis, :))
