not a swiftie but i’m a film student and i’ve been on sets before so i really mean it when i say that she sounds like a very competent and effective director. the language she uses towards both the actors and the crew is clear but also really allows them to interpret the material in a way that gives them some artistic freedom as well. reaaaally impressive and probably something she’s naturally picked up on with all of the mv directors she’s worked with through the years. she’s also very hands on which is nice to see and very respectful of everyone on set whether their talent or production. just an all around a great director that, if given the chance, i would love to work with :))
Looking at Sadie and Taylor hugging at 4:51 is taking away all my illnesses. UGHHH especially Sadie being so happy with Taylor makes me burst in happiness.
And now she's making her debut as a director... I'm overwhelmed by this woman. She's insane. In a positive way. She will be remembered so well one day...
All the comments complimenting her directorial abilities are amazing. What hits me hard is she knows exactly how it should be because she lived through it. She’s recreating moments from her own life, with the end poignantly showing how she remembers it today. “The stillness, the stoicism, the silence…We’re watching a person come of age.” Many of us have similar memories of losing our first loves and Taylor put that to music and now to vision. It’s truly remarkable.
This was SUCH an interesting video to watch. The way Taylor was directing them, watching her vision come to life and the way Sadie took direction IMMEDIATELY and just did it, is incredible to watch.
Damn seeing Taylor direct is awesome but seeing Sadie be directed and the way she responds to what she's given and how she acts upon it is literal magic, that's impressive
I’m a live theatre actress and I still don’t think I could’ve been able to follow the directions from a director so naturally on the first time like she did. She’s phenomenal
I’ve heard from other crews and casts that she’s amazing to work with. Apparently she’s extremely professional and impresses everyone who works with her.
im a people pleaser, and im always lacking confidence in my creative projects, especially if they are inspired by personal events in my life. seeing taylor direct this is so inspiring. i love that she's so confident in her artistic vision and says exactly what she wants while still being very professional and respectful of the actors and letting them be creative too. seeing this process makes me love the short film even more.
She is really passionate, super talented and artistic in so many ways. You can tell she loves what she's doing and always have an image of the things she wants to do.
Taylor is so creative. Not only such a great songwriter, singer, musician, composer, storyteller. Also a great director. She's really an inspiration. I'm so glad she shared this video with us. And also I love how natural beautiful Taylor looks in this video. Love you, Taylor ❤
Sadie and Dylan did so amazing in this film. She really put her heart into it she deserves so much credit. And Taylor swift is so amazing seeing her make this is such a different side! She deserves the most credit as well for this art ❤
the way taylor works will never stop surprising me. i don't know anything about directing but the way she would try her best to communicate exactly what she wanted to sadie and dylan but also at the same time, giving them a certain amount of freedom to make the characters their own was pretty amazing. genuinely cannot wait to see what else taylor decides to create or direct.
I love that these are actual clips of the behind the scenes and not just a fast-paced montage of tiny clips with music over it like they do nowadays. Love seeing Taylor as a director, she’s amazing at everything she does❤️
I just Love how easy the words come to Taylor, everyone is talking’ of how awesome are the actors (of course!) but, OMG how amazing is Tay to explain EXACTLY what she expects of them…what she want for the film to look like…I mean, complete perfection, such an amazing team they made…
Taylor seems to have an innate ability to visualize a concept, a scene, or an emotion, and translate that vision into words. Her right and left brains work seamlessly together. Whether it's in the concept of a new album, the lyrics to a song, or the directions to others, the end product is professional and seemingly effortless. Of course, it's not and never was. It's taken her years and tears to arrive at this point. It's taken constant dedication to the minutiae to perfect her craft. And now here we all are, eagerly awaiting to see what's next.
Not a swiftie, but I think my favorite thing about this is Taylor being able to express her mind clearly and calmly, and the other crews and actors could really pick it up without feeling rigid about what she envisions for the video, which a director should really embody. I used to direct short films for school back then, and this is the area where I struggled the most. Glad to see this behind-the-scenes footage. She’s excellent.
The fact that she keeps looking at her phone means that she had the entire vision written out before they started filming which is just mindblowing to me for someone who isn't a professional director. She gives such clear instructions because she has she has such a clear vision in her head. Dylan and Sadie did a tremendous job bringing it to live. This short film deserved all the awards that it got. Edit: just found out she's going to make her debut as a director and scriptwriter on the big screen. This is not a drill, people, i repeat, THIS IS NOT A DRILL!
Taylor Swift was so detailed in everything and yet it doesn't feel heavy for the actors to do what she wanted to get from them, She respect the actors own ways to act the emotions and story from the song. I have no absolutely question why taylor swift last in music industry! she's stupidly genius.. thats the kind of artist that value her music and craft. Congratulations!!
creative genius. Everything she does from writing to directing. everything has so much thought and she always put it in the ways that give you an “ah ha” moment of “yes the words I never said”
It's so not fair that Taylor is SO talented in everything she does! She is a great director. I hope she does more of these videos. Sadie and Dylan were fabulous together, don't know if she did the casting - but I believed every bit of that love story.
As a film student and a swiftie, this was really cool to watch! I really hope to see more films where Taylor has some sort of creative control in the filmmaking process, her directing in this is really well done!!! ❤️❤️ Also those actual film cameras are soo cool! Bravo to the whole team!!!
It’s so great to see Taylor really having full control of her art. That’s a true artist. Wasn’t a big fan of her in the beginning of her career but she’s really grown and showed that she’s a real
I’m just really thankful that Taylor started trusting herself and her artistry in terms of directing her own music videos. There is NOTHING she can’t do.
well... i guess having been directed in a bunch of music videos and on the big screen helped quite a lot with that. and probably many many deep conversations with directors she's worked with before did help tremendously as well. having a vision for a story to be told in a video is one thing but understanding the technicalities of things, the whole craftsmanship behind it and what visuals and angles and lighting can and cannot do is quite a handful and a steep learning curve which one usually doesn't master single-handedly. so yeah, defo loads of respect for taking that on and succeed.
Seeing her directing here is something so fascinating to me and it really portrays how passionate and intricate she is with her work. Sadie and Dylan did absolutely phenomenal as well, being able to communicate actions as quick as Taylor directed them is very special to see. Overall amazing, loved seeing this behind the scenes process!
you have to give taylor swift credit where credit is due. this entire short film is the result of her vision and direction. she deserves the recognition
taylor is so serious and yet sweet at the same time. shes so genuine towards everyone that she works with and she truly deserves everything. you can tell how much she cares about every detail and person in this film, and how important her work is to her. she seems like an amazing down to earth person and i really hope i get to meet her and hug her someday. taylor, you are truly a gift to this world. thank you for being such a great human and being so caring towards your fans an coworkers. i love you as a singer, songwriter, actor, director, and person. and my dream is to tell you how much i love you in person. thank you for letting us see your wonderful work. everything you do is beautiful. i love you to the moon and to saturn, you mean the universe to me and to so many people. you are the best in the game and always will be. you have helped me through the hardest most difficult parts of my life and i will never be able to thank you enough. your work is magic and thank you for always making us happy. you are a treasure to this earth and such an amazing person. im so proud of you for everything. congratulations love. ❤
The way she's describing how this love felt FOR her and how SHE saw herself is so amazing, this must be so healing for her. To be able to control the narrative that was originally manipulated. 10/10
I’m so happy for Taylor that she had so much success with this film. She deserves every thing she has and is such an incredible talent. And I can’t wait to see the new film she makes in the future!! She’s so amazing and has such a kind, warm demeanor and this video shows it. These people are so lucky to get to work with her. And happy birthday Taylor btw!! ❤️❤️❤️
Love how involve Taylor Swift in creating this beautiful music video of All Too Well. It is nice to have a personal touch on how one wants to express the song/memory from the beautiful lyrics, emotional vocals, to the visuals in a video. It is nice to see how she explains what she wants to see in the video in serious detail, but also having fun creating the music video with all the cast and crew members. * Today is 12/13/2022! Happy 33rd Birthday Taylor Swift!!! May you have a blast and wonderful time celebrating your birthday with friends and love ones!!🥳🎂🎉🎉🎉
i love watching behind the scenes of music videos and the making of music. its my favourite part of the whole album process and wish more people did it
The emotional trauma she must have had in order to still remember every detail, I’m sure she took creative liberty to the ones she don’t remember, is so sad yet so amazing to see her be able to move past it now
The way she's bringing back her younger self into an action, with the environment exactly how everything happened, she's making her own past traumatic love story, happily gives me how a women can comeback way more stronger !! 😭
Ever since Covid hit, me and my family have loved you and all your songs. It pretty much started with folklore. We would literally listen to it every single day. It was insane. It drove, my brother crazy but we didn’t care. We just rocked out to you. I got tickets to your tour luckily and when I found out I cried. I have cried numerous times because I’ve been so proud of you or sad because of your songs that are so relatable and true. Taylor Swift you have inspired me to write songs, and now I do it almost daily. You help me get my emotions out when I just want to scream or when I just need some time alone. And it is finally nice to have an artist that is so kind to their fans. it is honestly been such a journey from 2020 to here. Taylor, Swift I don’t know if there is a word for this, but you make me feel so amazing, so proud and so loved. You are a literally like my second mother. I swear the happiest times of my life are when I’m watching you or listening to you. You have always been my favorite artist even if I am in the recent fan. Happy birthday Taylor Swift. I don’t care if you see this or not but I love you and all your work. 💕
The best short film ever, i love Taylor's directions and their acting... Also Dylan is such a sweetheart and Sadie just brought the entire thing to life!! I come back here everytime because i remember my past relationships...
She had to relive this tragic story over and over. No one else COULD direct it. She is the bravest woman. The way she bares it all for the world to see and dissect. So brave and thank you Taylor for letting us view your incredible mind and beautiful heart. You are a treasure and I appreciate you ❤
@Pristine Whens! Tragic: causing or characterized by extreme distress or sorrow. I’m so glad she’s happy now, but this was THE big heartbreak for her. ♥️
@Pristine Whens! i don’t think it was just a heartbreak I think it was more deep than that. Especially seeing the music video this man clearly gaslighted her many times. it was kinda abusive.
4:18 i love how astounded taylor is by sadie's smile fading because it was exactly what she was looking for, while the camera man was like 'yeah, i know right?'
since Dr Swift got control of her music videos she's been able to be more creative and weird with what she wants to see, and what she imagines. She's brought a sense of herself, and how real she really is, to this world! This video is definitely a creation of who she is, and who she's still striving to be. Love you Tay!!
"She's fine but-but she's not who we met" "we're watching a person come of age" "and it was my foot!" Are my favorite quotes from this video truly an incredible life changing artist
Taylor must have been the most productive person in the whole pandemic era. I wonder if anyone else noticed she hugs everyone at the end of the scenes, such a sweetheart
“She’s fine-but she’s not who we met.” How is she a wordsmith at all times? I’m so proud of this project and of her and I just love it and love her and ugh😭
The fact that Sadie can instantly act upon what was said is amazing. I can't wait to see how far she can go. She is such a talented actress.
Lnppp
Skilled* an important difference
That's what actress do 🤷🤦
@ioverobin love is wonderful 😊😊😊😊😊
Sadie will be one of the greatest actress for sure 💕
not a swiftie but i’m a film student and i’ve been on sets before so i really mean it when i say that she sounds like a very competent and effective director. the language she uses towards both the actors and the crew is clear but also really allows them to interpret the material in a way that gives them some artistic freedom as well. reaaaally impressive and probably something she’s naturally picked up on with all of the mv directors she’s worked with through the years. she’s also very hands on which is nice to see and very respectful of everyone on set whether their talent or production. just an all around a great director that, if given the chance, i would love to work with :))
@Ananya Ambikar Yeah like what do you think?
@Kenef srsly ??
@Kenef wdum?
Sadie nailing taylor’s direction of “falseness to your smile…” SHE’S AMAZING!!!!
Looking at Sadie and Taylor hugging at 4:51 is taking away all my illnesses. UGHHH especially Sadie being so happy with Taylor makes me burst in happiness.
Swiftticket Done subscribed
Epic Win :)
This is why she deserves to be at the level she’s at. She’s so so smart and talented in general, not just with music. A true genius and icon.
@Todortaytay can pull more than you
❤️❤️❤️
@Todor she never said you're an icon tho. Your sl*t comment is unnecessary. 🤭
No one thinks it’s weird dylan is 31 and Sadie is 20…..
@UGO SLAY that’s the point. It mirrors her own age gap years ago and she wanted that element
That’s the point. That was the age gap between Taylor and her ex who the song is about and she wanted to show that it was wrong looking back.
It was uncomfortable to watch
Fun fact: We all agree that Taylor not only is a great musician, singer and artist but an awesome director.
@Sensual Charm
That's for sure!
Taylor is beautiful
And now she's making her debut as a director... I'm overwhelmed by this woman. She's insane. In a positive way. She will be remembered so well one day...
Taylor love
@MiMi she's debuting as a feature film director. meaning she'll start to direct movies that are about 1hr or so
What do you mean debut, shes done this before
I loved Dylan’s “babe, I’m telling the lego land story” 😭😭
@Arnav Sheelvant 2:06

Had me cracking up

Taylor’s face when Sadie does the birthday scene ❤
Damn seeing Taylor direct is awesome but seeing Sadie be directed and the way she responds to what she's given and how she acts upon it is literal magic, that's impressive
No only James Cameron 😍😘
Yes 🙌🏼
I’m a live theatre actress and I still don’t think I could’ve been able to follow the directions from a director so naturally on the first time like she did. She’s phenomenal
I’ve heard from other crews and casts that she’s amazing to work with. Apparently she’s extremely professional and impresses everyone who works with her.
This just made me fall in love with Sadie. I've never seen any of her work before and I am beyond impressed. She is a gifted young actress.
@Celeste it's in season 2.
@Mrs X she appears in like season 2 or 3, i forgot which but probably 2
I'm impressed w Ben too.
@ZahrA S never realized she was in that.
im a people pleaser, and im always lacking confidence in my creative projects, especially if they are inspired by personal events in my life. seeing taylor direct this is so inspiring. i love that she's so confident in her artistic vision and says exactly what she wants while still being very professional and respectful of the actors and letting them be creative too. seeing this process makes me love the short film even more.
💗 Totally agree

me too. love Taylor
So proud 😭
I was about to mention this! Gave me tears!
me too
Got my tears when she said this. 😭

we definitely need more films like this from Taylor's songs
Fr
I love that these are actual clips of the behind the scenes and not just a fast-paced montage of tiny clips with music over it like they do nowadays. Love seeing Taylor as a director, she’s amazing at everything she does❤️
Even from the little we see it makes it even more clear how next level talented Sadie is

Well said 👏 Can’t agree more
I can’t believe how talented Taylor is at EVERY SINGLE THING ON THIS PLANET. ❤❤❤
Not a swiftie, but I think my favorite thing about this is Taylor being able to express her mind clearly and calmly, and the other crews and actors could really pick it up without feeling rigid about what she envisions for the video, which a director should really embody. @axel i want you to re-read your comment and then say to yourself that "Celebrity Worshipping isnt an issue in today's society"
.....omg she put her shoes on one at a time.....mind-blowing....such an icon...such vision....
She’s a masterminddddd
There's something so intimidating about the way taylor screams "KISS" at 1:07. Love her 😭
Taylor Swift was so detailed in everything and yet it doesn't feel heavy for the actors to do what she wanted to get from them, She respect the actors own ways to act the emotions and story from the song. I have no absolutely question why taylor swift last in music industry! she's stupidly genius.. thats the kind of artist that value her music and craft. Congratulations!!
creative genius. Everything she does from writing to directing. everything has so much thought and she always put it in the ways that give you an “ah ha” moment of “yes the words I never said”
The way she puts her hand on her chest at 4:22 when she sees Sadie looking down sadly in the birthday scene. I FELT THAT.
I know everyone worked so hard on this. But the way Sadie Sink carried this is something really special. She brought so much emotional depth to it.
She clearly knows what shes doing! There’s no accidental success with this women, she deserves every single bit of her fame!
Taylor is beautiful
She was reminiscing scenes from her own life experience while working. That's why
Thanks

She has grown so much, it’s like she lives and learn from everyone around and everything she had to go even if did not deserved
It's so not fair that Taylor is SO talented in everything she does! She is a great director. I hope she does more of these videos. Sadie and Dylan were fabulous together, don't know if she did the casting - but I believed every bit of that love story.

after so long, it’s here.
@baze.djunkiii Every single artist who has had music videos made has the same opportunity to learn how to direct a music video.
well... i guess having been directed in a bunch of music videos and on the big screen helped quite a lot with that. and probably many many deep conversations with directors she's worked with before did help tremendously as well. having a vision for a story to be told in a video is one thing but understanding the technicalities of things, the whole craftsmanship behind it and what visuals and angles and lighting can and cannot do is quite a handful and a steep learning curve which one usually doesn't master single-handedly. so yeah, defo loads of respect for taking that on and succeed.
I love the short film, I’m so happy I found it, awesome storytelling Taylor, and the actors are amazing!!❤
Taylor always knows what she wants and you completely goes for it. So inspiring!!
Taylor is so talented omg, she keeps surprising me. And I'm not even a regular fan.
This video made me love Dylan and Sadie even more. They’re acting has always been elite but seeing this behind the scenes stuff is like WOW
Taylor seems to be a natural at the directing and producing of her vision! Great job!
Seeing her directing here is something so fascinating to me and it really portrays how passionate and intricate she is with her work. Sadie and Dylan did absolutely phenomenal as well, being able to communicate actions as quick as Taylor directed them is very special to see. @Todorblah blah blah go somewhere else 💀
you have to give taylor swift credit where credit is due. this entire short film is the result of her vision and direction. she deserves the recognition

taylor is so serious and yet sweet at the same time. shes so genuine towards everyone that she works with and she truly deserves everything. you can tell how much she cares about every detail and person in this film, and how important her work is to her. she seems like an amazing down to earth person and i really hope i get to meet her and hug her someday. taylor, you are truly a gift to this world. thank you for being such a great human and being so caring towards your fans an coworkers. i love you as a singer, songwriter, actor, director, and person. and my dream is to tell you how much i love you in person. thank you for letting us see your wonderful work. everything you do is beautiful. i love you to the moon and to saturn, you mean the universe to me and to so many people. you are the best in the game and always will be. you have helped me through the hardest most difficult parts of my life and i will never be able to thank you enough. your work is magic and thank you for always making us happy. you are a treasure to this earth and such an amazing person. im so proud of you for everything. congratulations love. ❤
I’m watching this after it didn’t win song of the year at the grammy’s 😢💔
The way she's describing how this love felt FOR her and how SHE saw herself is so amazing, this must be so healing for her. To be able to control the narrative that was originally manipulated. 10/10
YES!!!!
wdym manipulated?
👏
@Todorat least Taylor’s parent was three for her
I’m so happy for Taylor that she had so much success with this film. She deserves every thing she has and is such an incredible talent. And I can’t wait to see the new film she makes in the future!! She’s so amazing and has such a kind, warm demeanor and this video shows it. These people are so lucky to get to work with her. And happy birthday Taylor btw!! ❤️❤️❤️
I've never been in a relationship but watching the film made me feel that loss, it was beautiful.
Is there anything you can't do my sweet lady swift? You're a great musician, amazing artist and AWESOME DIRECTOR!
Taylor is like that one cool cousin who is always kind, helpful and youre having the most fun with her
Love how involve Taylor Swift in creating this beautiful music video of All Too Well.
TAYLOR IS NOT JUST THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, SHE IS THE WHOLE ART.
she’s a goddess
I'm so proud of her 🥺🥺🥺
taylor is an amazing, singer, songwriter, actor, AND director. she's so talented
Estuvo en todos los detalles que genia, hermosa canción con algo de tristeza...
Taylor with red hair is GORGEOUS I honestly wish she had kept it for longer
“That was literally perfect CUT we have what we need” ✨
i love watching behind the scenes of music videos and the making of music. its my favourite part of the whole album process and wish more people did it
The emotional trauma she must have had in order to still remember every detail, I’m sure she took creative liberty to the ones she don’t remember, is so sad yet so amazing to see her be able to move past it now
@Todor you are very sad person
True, and she bare it all to these ppl to us how she got the heartbreak
@Inessa emotionally abusive, and before one assumes that’s less traumatic you’d be surprised the effects it has on a person for a lifetime.
This probably was like therapy for her to have it all out there the way she remembers that time of her life.
The creative talent this woman has is insane. So beautiful seeing her story come to life on screen.
I hope this song wins a grammy this year.
When they said directed by Taylor Swift... they meant it.
Love how involved she is and what a masterpiece this turned out to be!!!
there's so much talent in this one video its actually insane
I love ❤️ you’re music 🎵 Taylor Swift ☺️ , true fan ☺️😇
the fact that taylor wrote, directed, casted, sang, choreographed, and instrumented this whole *experience* really is true dedication.
Dont read my name! 🔥
@Carolina Pinto totally
Also having the confidence to direct people into playing scenes of your actual life that represent such vulnerable parts of you. Amazing!

She is such a natural director. I hope she does a full-length feature some day. She captures emotion and subtlety SO well
Populer opinion: Everyone agress that Taylor Swift isn't just a singer-songwritter, she's also a very effective storyteller!
Ever since Covid hit, me and my family have loved you and all your songs. It pretty much started with folklore. We would literally listen to it every single day. It was insane. @giulia ohhh and it probably also affected her self-esteem. Him being “older and wiser” and making her feel out of place 🥲
I understand it was a painful heartbreak, but what makes it tragic? What happened? 💔🥺
ⓈⒶⒹⒾⒺ ⓈⒾⓃⓀ!!!!
“She’s fine, but she’s not who we met.” AAANNDD I’m sobbing
Taylor Swift was just born to tell stories.
"She's fine but-but she's not who we met"
"we're watching a person come of age"
"and it was my foot!"
Are my favorite quotes from this video truly an incredible life changing artist
i personally love “babe. i’m telling the lego land story” 😭
Also "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, KISS!!" 🤣🤣
The chemistry between taylor and sadie is unreal
Congrats to the Grammy award-winning music video!
Taylor and Sadie! Amazing! Both talented women.
Give Dylan and Sadie the Oscar award. Their acting was SO professional! I love them!
I love this! Everything from Taylor's enthusiasm, to the clear easy cooperation and chemistry between the actors, cast and crew is admirable
Taylor must have been the most productive person in the whole pandemic era. I wonder if anyone else noticed she hugs everyone at the end of the scenes, such a sweetheart
She really was creating non stop during the pandemic
Taylor is amazing. And of course Dylan and Sadie 🎉
She seems like a natural director and I can't wait till her feature length movie comes out!
Hello how are you doing today?
I love seeing the behind the scenes with Sadie, Dylan and Taylor its so cool and she picked two amazing actors for the short film....
TAYLOR CAN DO IT ALL, SO TALENTED! 😭👏
Bruh Taylor is an amazing director. And all the cast did so well in this, everything was just corresponding and coming along very well. I love it❤️😩
“She’s fine-but she’s not who we met.” How is she a wordsmith at all times? I’m so proud of this project and of her and I just love it and love her and ugh😭
That and her smile at the end😭❤️
Those words are so relatable!
even a normal conversation with her is like a song on its own skdjskdjsj
Justo esto es lo que me gusta de Taylor, siempre tiene una idea concreta y trabaja en ello hasta que la ve realizada 👌🏻👌🏻
Happy 33th Birthday Taylor Swift! I love and admire you so much! 💜
Taylor is so freaking talented. So cool to see how she had everything planned in her mind😍
I love how Dylan when Taylor tells him to do the hand drop he’s like “dangggg that’s a cold move. Like someone did that! That’s not okay.”
i love how shes so specific about everything that she wants and the way she wants it, shes really telling us every detail of her love story
taylor, sadie and dylan all deserve awards. taylor’s directing was IMPECCABLE and sadie and dylan’s acting was absolutely GORGEOUS !!

I wish BTS videos like this existed for all music videos. I LOVE seeing things like this and then watching it post production
Anyone know how Taylor decided on Sadie and Dylan? I love them separately but together wow!!!! They are both some of my fav actors.
She is such a professional. Bravo Taylor!
