This was a great documentary! I have a lot of respect for Floor, as an artist and as a woman. I appreciate that she openly shares her strengths and struggles, which helps normalize those experiences for regular people. I appreciate that she's not afraid to be herself - she makes silly faces, shows herself doing mundane, yet fulfilling, everyday tasks, and shares makeup-free selfies. I also appreciate that she takes credit when it is due her, without being a braggart, yet is also quick to point out the talent she is surrounded with. She has worked hard and deserves to be proud of the resulting success. She's a good role model for girls everywhere.
I have the greatest admiration for this gorgeous, humble and extremely talented lady. I love Floor to bits. I am 60 years old and one day I hope I can watch her sing without getting tears in my eyes. Love you Floor and Love Nightwish :)

Niemand hat es auch nur annähernd damals auf Tarjas Stufe geschafft, niemand konnte auch nur ansatzweise ihre Songs singen.....und dann hab ich Floor das erste Mal live mit Nightwish singen hören und hab geheult wie ein Schloßhund,weil es einfach nur Hammer war😍 ich war skeptisch ob sie Tarjas Songs schafft....und dann hab ich gesehen wie sie Tarjas Songs genommen und sie zu ihren eigenen gemacht hat 🌹😍 you are absolutely incredible,Miss!!!

It teaches us all to never give up, even in the darkest of moments of our lives. I have heard her sing in After Forever, ReVamp, Northward and Nightwish... All incredible.

Floor würde in einer Liga mit Celine Dion und Withney Houston singen. Allerdings kann sie was genannte Personen nicht können, nämlich die andere Seite des Spektrums. Sie kann Rock. Sie kann sich die Seele aus dem Leib growlen. Sie kann alles singen was sie möchte bis zur Perfektion und das ohne Hilfsmittel aus dem Studio. Das macht sie vielseitig und somit besser als alle anderen. Deshalb spielt sie in ihrer ganz eigenen Liga. Sie ist die beste Sängerin unserer Zeit. Und sie ist Mensch geblieben. Auch wenn wir sie zurecht als Göttin bezeichnen, was ihr schon unangenehm ist.
I feel a little compassion for Floor having to move 4 times by the time she was 15. I'd feel more if I myself hadn't moved 9 times in 13 years as a kid. But I do understand how difficult that can be. I guess I never realized what an emotional woman she has been her entire life. That shit can manifest in many ways and one wouldn't be surprised if there was anger and depression. But every time I hear just talk about anything, she just feels accessible and normal. The perfect balance. 2020 comes along, and the KZclip algorithm presents a trending duet from Beste' Zangers covering Phantom of the Opera. The singers kill it, with the female just plain emotive and powerful. Here name, Floor Jansen. Lets try out her cover of Shallow. Pick me up off the floor and I'm a fan for life. And I fall down her rabbit hole. She introduces me to Nightwish, but because I'm not a metalhead they'd have never crossed my path. And while I recognize the genius of the band, I would not call myself part of the Army. Oh, I have two favorite songs, GLS and Ever Dream, but only the specific performances at Wacken (the former probably the best live video captured I've ever seen) and I listen to them several times a week, especially reaction videos. But I'm 100% tuned in to her solo career. Can hardly wait for her album to drop and have loved the three singles she's released from it. You'll find me shunning the word "best" when talking about my favorite artists. If there was some way to empirically measuring "best", I wouldn't be surprised if Floor was near, or at the top of that list, but ya can't. Art is subjective to the senses of the recipient. But I can say that she is a Master of Her Instrument and I admire her use of it immensely There are only a handful of artists I've come across in the past dozen years that have made my playlist, some of whom have stuck around and others I haven't listen too in years. And there aren't but five you'll find in my search que and history log that repeatedly show up. Interestingly except the one group included in those five (Home Free) each one is representative of a teen, 20's, 30s, and 40s in age. Each have that quality of master of her instrument that Floor defines so well. Hope damn lucky am I?

At 33, I've never been to a concert, never had a favorite band, never felt the need to enjoy music beyond the speakers. It all changes next year and I feel like I'll be too teary to see anything or that I might faint. Wish me luck!

Floor we are very similar you and me. One thing is unfortunately different. Your Family understands that there are very sensitive people out there, mine never did and gave me the feeling of an alien. Someone who does not belong in this world. It is very hard to grow up like that. We fought our battles, you are further than I am, well I am glad you are. Unfortunately we are stroke both by a new one. Maybe we are sisters in hearts. To the person who uploaded it, thank you. I hope I get strength again, because I also got a terrible message, where right as I got it, I had the feeling the boxing-partner (life) hit me too hard this time and I can not get up at ten again (as I usually did). Floors Stimme ist wirklich grossartig!! Diese schöne Doku hat sie verdient. Auch schön zu sehen dass sie auch in Deutschland so geliebt wird. Sie war sagenhaft in die Niederländische Musikzendung mit das wahnsinnig gutes Duet Phantom of the opera. Ich bin auch Hochsensitiv und wenn ich sie singen hör mit diesem Lied bekomme ich tränen in die Augen. Entschuldige mein nicht sehr gutes Deutsch. Ich komme auch aus die Niederlande. 😄

@john lindquist Mandatory after 1985, for people that went to school before that it's all self teached from the internet and television. Shows/series/movies and such from the US/UK are subtitled instead of translated which helps a lot. Only the real old people are bad in English usually. As you can probably notice my English is far from the level of generation Z as well.
English is mandatory as a second language in the Netherlands and Irene also teaches English so, needless to say, she has a great deal of experience speaking it.

Muss aber dazu sagen, dass ich Nightwish nur mit Floor live kenne. Die Tarja-Auftritte kenne ich nur von Videos, hab da nie so drauf geachtet - aber es stimmt, ist tatsächlich so. Ironischerweise war GLS beim Wacken 2013 allerdings DER Song, der mich plötzlich hat hinhören lassen, nachdem ich während der Annette-Ära ein bißchen weniger NW gehört habe, und mir jetzt auch nicht wirklich ne Meinung über NOCH ne neue Sängerin bilden wollte🙄...Dann hab ich Floor GLS singen gehört und war hin und weg.😲 So wie es jetzt ist - so finde ich es einfach perfekt.🤗
Sie hat am Ende noch Gesang hinzugefügt. Tarja war bei Liveauftritten von GLS in den letzten 1-2 Minuten des Songs gar nicht mehr auf der Bühne. Da hat nur noch die Band gespielt und der Gesang eines Chors kam vom Band. Umgetextet ist also eine ungenaue Beschreibung.
Why are "we" called high sensitive when a lot of people are low sensitive, i think what's being called high sensitive is more "normal " then the the people who are cut of from their natural original being 🤷♀️

Sängerin von Nightwish? Seit Tarja sind die Fussstapfen größer als groß. Konnte bisher keine ausfüllen. Ihr Klangspektrum gibt das leider auch nicht her. Tarja kann schlicht keine normale Sängerin das Wasser reichen.

As much as I love Floor, I sorta wanna know how her sister speaks such perfect English.
@john lindquist Mandatory after 1985, for people that went to school before that it's all self teached from the internet and television. Shows/series/movies and such from the US/UK are subtitled instead of translated which helps a lot. Only the real old people are bad in English usually. As you can probably notice my English is far from the level of generation Z as well.
English is mandatory as a second language in the Netherlands and Irene also teaches English so, needless to say, she has a great deal of experience speaking it.

@Marcus Knorpp Aha, danke sehr für die Erklärung.☝ Erfüllt zwar für mich immer noch nicht den Sinn des Wortes "Umgetextet",😅 macht aber dann mehr Sinn.
Muss aber dazu sagen, dass ich Nightwish nur mit Floor live kenne. Die Tarja-Auftritte kenne ich nur von Videos, hab da nie so drauf geachtet - aber es stimmt, ist tatsächlich so.
Ironischerweise war GLS beim Wacken 2013 allerdings DER Song, der mich plötzlich hat hinhören lassen, nachdem ich während der Annette-Ära ein bißchen weniger NW gehört habe, und mir jetzt auch nicht wirklich ne Meinung über NOCH ne neue Sängerin bilden wollte🙄...Dann hab ich Floor GLS singen gehört und war hin und weg.😲 So wie es jetzt ist - so finde ich es einfach perfekt.🤗
Sie hat am Ende noch Gesang hinzugefügt. Tarja war bei Liveauftritten von GLS in den letzten 1-2 Minuten des Songs gar nicht mehr auf der Bühne. Da hat nur noch die Band gespielt und der Gesang eines Chors kam vom Band. Umgetextet ist also eine ungenaue Beschreibung.

Nein, natürlich hat Floor das Lied nicht umgetextet.... Sie singt es einfach anders, insbesondere das Ende und es klingt wirklich großartig!

Sängerin von Nightwish? Seit Tarja sind die Fussstapfen größer als groß. Konnte bisher keine ausfüllen. Ihr Klangspektrum gibt das leider auch nicht her. Tarja kann schlicht keine normale Sängerin das Wasser reichen.
Sehr einsame Meinung, aber jedem das Seine.
