Kevin's first demo is a great example of how human error can lead to the incorrect answer even when the tools are behaving perfectly. He asks for the sum of the values in B2 through B10, but his data is actually in B2 through B11.
Kevin has not only provided such crucial information at such juncture when chatgpt has just begun to roll out but also helped us integrate it with excel. You are very helpful Kevin ☺️
After using Excel for more than 7 years I just tested the ChatGPT - this is amazing! It is such a great tool and I would like to introduce this to my team so everyone can increase their efficiency while not struggling with formulas! Thank you so much Kevin for always bringing new ideas, tools that blow my mind and make my work much easier!!! :)
@3nron Yep, spot on, with even the best of today's AI, how can you get an answer if your cannot construct the question accordingly. It's like anything else in life, if youwant to grow a garden, then get a spade and get digging, or get rich enough to pay someone to do it for you. No matter how clever the AI, someone at some stage someone will have to do the grunt work
@Alexandra Nevermind No it isn't - you're still going to have to understand the formulas. For example, I asked as cohort of young people how do you calculate the VAT on product costing £100 when VAT is 25% and they looked at me as if I'd just fallen out of a tree
Your teaching method is perfect. It's brief and at the same time concise plus you highlight some tips that not everyone knows but if someone is interested he/she can follow up on that subject and learn it later.
I've been using Chat GPT for about a month now for research/writing, and it definitely has its limitations. When you asked it to describe the first Sum example, it misspelled separate as "seperate" 🤣 But thank you for showing how it can be used in Excel. I'm pretty good at using Excel, but I don't know the more advanced formulas.
Another great video. Would be nice to see you make use of chatGPT in Excel and make videos on that. It's a good basic video and we would love to see more advanced stuff where AI can actually help us use new things
What an era we are living in. It's hard for me to articulate how astonishing it is that from one month to the next an AI technology appears that changes the course of learning programs like excel. And improving the lives for everyone from novices to people who've been using the software for decades. Amazing!
This video is so informative and well-produced. Keep up the great work. Can you do more videos with a Blue Willow comparison to other image AI generators?
Excellent tutorial and demo. Thank you. Your pace and screenshots are just right to convey the information at a good pace for viewers. If you don't mind, just a couple of thoughts: First, (this might be just me) I think it would be even more helpful when you are doing something in a specific area of the screen, such as pating the formula into the cell or formula bar, to ZOOM IN on that area so we can see it better. This was not bad - not nearly as bad as some demos I've seen where the screen was full of very tiny controls and the narrator did a quick clisk and was on to something else before we could follow his cursor movement. But still, I think some zooming in would make your videos even better. Second, and again this might be just me, you might consider trying to eliminate audible inhales. To me, it sounds like you are gasping and just gets distracting. Other than those two suggestions, a top-notch video. Thanks.
Today I finally wanted to know what was the ChatGPT fuzz about. I just knew it was AI related. And as usual, Kevin explained it to me super easy. Thank you Kevin, you’re the best 👍 I don’t even go to other channels anymore, I know you have a very easy and *fast* answer.
ChatGPT looks like a great productivity and knowledge tool. Seems to me, there is 1 catch: ChatGPT makes small mistakes, and it takes real in-depth knowledge from the user to spot and tackle those mistakes. That's especially visible towards the end of the video, where Kevin manually corrects the Excel Macro code.
yeah that is true, but you can also ask ChatGPT if you don't understand something or you can ask ChatGPT to retry if there is a mistake or ask ChatGPT questions to find the error. That is a lot faster then learning an entire computer language.
Respect to all hard workers! Soon, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take over, but we must recognize the value of human effort. Thank you for your explaining:)
@LCK Many jobs will be lost due to the introduction of AI; however, there will also be new opportunities for those affected. Assignments for the AI must come from humans, thus creating more job opportunities. Although some doors will close, other doors will open and provide individuals with new chances for success.
Agree 100%. It's really hit me these past couple days as a whole package, how society as a whole is more/less losing touch with the full human element (got a young buc, perfect example of this working in my department). This a huge discussion, unfit for a comment thread because oh! Wouldn't you know! We lose the human element of conversing when we're on screen like this :) But I agree completely: respect the hard work of human effort!
Wow Kevin, Impressive video. I'm working on building a spreadsheet to keep up with medical issues ( for personal use only) - frequency, type, symptoms, etc and want to test ChatGPT. Have you a video of instruction on this or something close to this?
This is impressive, my current task in Excel is complicated and executed manually, with limited formulae. the suggested Marcos mirror precisely the manual functions, will try them out on a test spread sheet. Thanks for the heads up.
Fantastic vid. Amazing how far AI has come already. And as far as I know, it wasn't trained to learn Excel or other languages either. As an ex sw developer your last example was quite frankly alarming... in a good way.
Kevin, both you and Chat are amazing! Thank you. But, I seem to have trouble putting the question together to achieve the complicated results I need. Is there any help for this?
Kevin dear, this video is gonna boost my productivity for sure. I've only recently developed my first likings for ChatGPT and now you give me more reasons to keep it always on my pc. Thanks for touching on the macros part also. I used to feel that it is onerous.
Thanks for the lesson Kevin! Hopefully ChatGPT can teach me how to use arrays. Although, I heard some new formulas in 365 are reducing the need for arrays.
Kevin you are a star. I can't even express how much this helps me. Oh my god I spent hours googling formulas for the new invoice report i was asked for. 😅
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tool, especially with the macros... Amazing job! Will check your video on macros... Do you know where I can find how to build macros using lattice model and montecarlo simulation? Thank you in advance for your time....
Cool video! any idea of using chatGPT in document? for example, through add-in or add-on in Word or Google doc. chatGPT is so good at content generation.
The problem is that this technology can be intimidating, especially for those who are new to it. The advanced capabilities of Chat GPT are hidden behind questions that are not intuitive, and solving that problem is the entire point of my book: "The Chat GPT Prompts Guide." That's where this book comes in - it's designed to help you ask better questions, so you can get better answers from chat GPT.
This is exciting. Can it create pivot tables also? That would be good. I will try my hand with some trading EAs in which I want to add some functionality - obviously will that first on demo account. Let's see
I wanted to ask how to make function calculate the sum of odd columns. AI continually failed in making the formula and also in translating it into my language. After finally coming up with the right formula (by myself) and bc it was my first time at ChatGPT I obviously got philosophical. I tried having the AI explain it's reasoning to me. It refused to give references, broke down in error and now it refuses to talk to me. My social life is a mess...
Not bad, woulda saved me 2 mins a few weeks ago when I automated an EOD report with a dynamic rolling date in subject. Seems like ChatGPT is good for a very basic excel user. Any intelligent person can write macros within a week of learning, for all the others ChatGPT still won't help because they just don't have a problem-solving mentality, prob button pushers. If they were already critical thinkers, they would have learned how to develop tools and templates to accurately and consistently perform tasks. Most people i work with rely on IT, DEVs and QA to spoon feed them tools. That won't change, no matter how easy Excel is made, because it already easy enough for any college graduate to be fully versed in weeks.
Well aren't you just full of yourself! You are forgetting about the people who rarely need to use these tools. We don't want or need to spend a week trying to learn skills we will rarely use! We just want to accomplish the particular task as quickly as possible.
Thanks Kevin for your effort. Unfortunately I can not open ChatGPT in my country because it is not available. I wish you can show me a way to solve this problem. I tried to use VPN but it is not working because ChatGPT asks for phone verification. I tried virtual numbers but is not working.
thats crazy! thanks for pointing this out! i think i'm pretty good at Excel, but you don't know what you don't know right? I'm gonna test out ChatGPT now and again with things I wish there was a shortcut for... because there probably is
Hi Kevin. thanks a lot for all your videos, I learn a lot with those. I have a question, I would like to know how can I have a Microsoft certification tha valid that I know Excel, please? If you could orient me I would be grateful. 🤗
I can see Microsoft implementing this. Maybe when you are making columns like that it even asks if you want to add them. They could have some type of personified ai as a ui… maybe like a paperclip.
Well as MS is also behind OpenAI they will incorporate this with the time into office / excel and then that button "analyse" will become really powerful and popular ;-)
It is absolutely great video to show it is capabilities. However it seems that it is not suggesting the most suitable and new functions such - Instead of Vlookup - Xlookup would better suits , Instead of Left and len combination - textafter and before functions is so easy to apply. Also uniqufe values- the new unique array function + count would be a better option
Thanks for publicizing "TEXTAFTER" etc. I didn't know of them 🙂But it seems they only came out in Q1 2022, so I wonder if that might be why ChatGPT doesn't know them either - its education/training ended in 2021?
Hello Kevin... I'm glad that you used the name of Bangladesh in example data. I am from Bangladesh and I'm a fan of you since you were an employee of Microsoft. Most of your videos are very helpful and increase productivity, so keep it up. Love from Bangladesh.
Assalamualaikum brother i wanted to do btech but because of some reason i couldn't my friend suggested me to invest money (10lakhs) on our family business (medical store) and i have done BSC and after COVID -19 businesses aren't working properly and I'm very depressed because all of my friends are earning money and I'm still stand there i withdrawal my seat without having any single class i had CS branch please tell me that if i do data analytics course what it will good for me ? Question for Kevin or anyone who can answer: Is it possible to include the customer's name in the macro that sends emails to those who owe the Kevin Cookie Company? There are only two columns for the amount due and the email address. What would be the macro and steps needed in Excel for making the email more personalized by adding the customer's first and last name? i.e. "Dear [First Name, Last Name], You owe the Kevin Cookie Company x amount."
You should be able to add any number of customizations / fields. Simply give the instructions to ChatGPT and you should get close to what you're looking for 👍
I’m all for the integration with Excel and office hopefully. Especially for stuff like macros to help me with my large and messy excel files I have to get from one person and reformat/add info/change for presenting to say a client. But so far I don’t trust giving my phone number in order to use it. Big turn off
Awesome, don't need staff to make reports anymore, can just get the AI to do it for me. Huge savings to pass onto the customer and contribute to deflation. Just need to offset deflation with UBI and we're on our way to freedom
Decent tutorial, but probably only relevant to beginners. It would've been interesting to see the AI make some complicated formulas as well. I remember having found all of these on Google in barely anymore time with better explanations than ChatGPT, so I'm not seeing something that'll improve your Excellence by 10x, but maybe just a matter of finding the right examples. Also disappointed to see it prefers legacy formulas over their modern variant
Kevin, Can Chat GPT modify an excel file like we can with MACROS. For example, moving a lists of descriptions to another sheet in order of weights entered on the first page?

Great video Kevin
Is chatgpt free version can create VBA codes ?? Please advise how did you able to create it
@Mig Ram yeah, $30 for lifetime access to all videos and training content 👍
It is one time payment for the excel training???
Kevin's first demo is a great example of how human error can lead to the incorrect answer even when the tools are behaving perfectly. He asks for the sum of the values in B2 through B10, but his data is actually in B2 through B11.
AI shoulda spotted that. Burn it now.
Or, just google what you want to know? right??
@Mike Meh, it's the same as using a calculator. If you get the wrong answer, you gave it the wrong inputs.
Kevin has not only provided such crucial information at such juncture when chatgpt has just begun to roll out but also helped us integrate it with excel. You are very helpful Kevin ☺️

Amazing job Kevin. Loved the simplicity of the video
Great content, as always. Please keep the excel and ChatGPT videos coming!
Great video, as always! Thanks for sharing these good ideas, Kevin!
Thanks Kevin for this amazingly informative video.... Your teaching method is perfect.
Kevin you are a star. I can't even express how much this helps me. Oh my god I spent hours googling formulas for the new invoice report i was asked for. 😅
Outstanding. Great material and you are a great teacher.
ChatGPT is a fantastic tool that is disrupting the way we do things! Thanks, Kevin for simplifying its use.
Clear, concise, useful, and entertaining. Thanks Kevin.
Kevin, loved this one! A similar video for MS Word would be great. 🤓🤓
Thanks Kevin for this amazingly informative video! Does the chatGPT needs to be a paid one or will the free version work for this?
I am sure we will be fine with AI just follow our coach Kevin. Great start Kevin with this revolutionary technology.
Kevin, thanks a lot for your teaching. please, is it possible that you share with us the commands that you introduced into ChatGPT?
Awesome video. So much content. Value is huge. I have lots to play around with now. THANK YOU
Your teaching method was brief and concise plus you also highlighted some excellent and vital tips that rarely known by others. Tq very much.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tool, especially with the macros... Amazing job! Will check your video on macros... Do you know where I can find how to build macros using lattice model and montecarlo simulation? Thank you in advance for your time....
Thank-you so much for this video. It takes me to a much higher level in Excel and everything else.
Chat GPT is blowing my mind!!!! Cool to see real world scenarios being used.
Great video thanks Kevin. Please let us know if ChatGBT knows how to write Power BI DAX formulas. That will be another great video to watch!
I used chat ai to write a macro today and then insert it into a button on each tab. It was positively beautiful 😍
Excelformulabot utilizes GPT-3 for creating formulas. Super cool and well done.
Thanks for the video, Kevin!
Thanks Kevin. You showing how to use the latest technology in an easy to understand.
One simple macro project of 30 minutes I have been doing from the past 3 year
Hope using this chatGPT I can complete my project 😀

Thanks Kevin your videos are very helpful and easy to understand 💪
Happy to hear that!
Nice video. ChatGpt has helped me a lot in my work since its release. People is mindblown by my excel skills they say 😂
This is exciting. Can it create pivot tables also? That would be good. I will try my hand with some trading EAs in which I want to add some functionality - obviously will that first on demo account. Let's see

I have been using ChatGPT to check both formula and coding with great success.
Great video Kevin ( as always!), can I assume that Chat GPT works the same with GoogleSheets?
Thank you Kevin perfect guide!! have my chat account now and going back through some Excel's and updating formula's
Highly informative! Thanks for sharing , Kevin :)
I really love your videos, its very informative.
This is great! Never thought you could use chatgpt for this. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video. I finally learned how macro is written and had ChatGPT wrote one for me.
Hey Kevin loved that last example. Do you know if its possible for this macro to work in sync with an invoice template from word or PDF?
Great video. I have found check GPT to be especially helpful at creating advanced functions in excel.

Love your NLP speaking. Nice tone. Less is more. Excellent! I appreciate the chat gpt videos. Thanks
The more I use ChatGPT, the more I feel that it has a long way to go before it becomes really useful
That is genius. Thank you so much for sharing this video. 🎉
Kevin, thank you for all of you great videos.
I like so many of your videos @kevin. This is yet another one. I never thought of Chat GPT for this.
Excellent video. Thank you Kevin. Looking forward to have more.

Kevin is right on time ‘again’ with the mic drop 🎤 Thank you x many.
you earned a new subscriber for this video. Awesome! thanks for the helpful tips
I can see Microsoft implementing this. Maybe when you are making columns like that it even asks if you want to add them. They could have some type of personified ai as a ui… maybe like a paperclip.
ClippyGeePeeTee !!
Could you make a video about using ChatCPT to convert 32 bit VBA to 64 bit VBA for Excel spreadsheets?
This video was amazing. thank you Kevin.
Well as MS is also behind OpenAI they will incorporate this with the time into office / excel and then that button "analyse" will become really powerful and popular ;-)
@Programster NOOOOOO please NOOOOOO
😈
Sounds like clippy the assistant coming back.
I bet most of the product managers at Microsoft are focused on AI features right now across Windows and Office.
MS in integrating OpenAI to whole Windows.
Chatgpt seems helpful. But like others have said, you'd still need to have some pretty good Excel skills before you can really take advantage of it.
It is absolutely great video to show it is capabilities. However it seems that it is not suggesting the most suitable and new functions such - Instead of Vlookup - Xlookup would better suits , Instead of Left and len combination - textafter and before functions is so easy to apply. The macro / vba example was great, the others seemed a bit forced in my opinion. Great channel, I love your material.
Question for Kevin or anyone who can answer: Is it possible to include the customer's name in the macro that sends emails to those who owe the Kevin Cookie Company? Awesome! I am so hooked on GPT recently. Think about basic annual income tax calculations!
it would be great if we can upload an excel data to chatgpt, and then we start giving the direction using more simple text
Thank you! Another very helpful video!
Awesome, don't need staff to make reports anymore, can just get the AI to do it for me. Huge savings to pass onto the customer and contribute to deflation.
Just need to offset deflation with UBI and we're on our way to freedom
Awesome video and links, I was able to run the Macro to send emails to myself!
I feel chatgpt is starting to get intimidating. Does it make us too dependent ?? This is gonna take a hit on the learning process !
Maybe, maybe not. Depends upon the user.

Awesome as per usual! 👏
ChatGPT is the new chapter of tech in this world, and for some companies it might be the end of it and for some the beginning
This is what I need. Love ChatGPT. Thanks!
Astonishing content Man 👍👍👍
So useful & great video! Ty
Dude, this only helps if you’ve never use excel in your life. If you use it for work purpose you already know this stuff pretty well.
Kevin, Can Chat GPT modify an excel file like we can with MACROS. For example, moving a lists of descriptions to another sheet in order of weights entered on the first page?
No, it cannot. It can tell you how to do it, but you will have to implement the steps yourself.
