@CIGOL And yet we've seen similar lines with 007 movies. It's a quip. The villain doesn't have to be broody and serious to BE serious all the time. Especially if they enjoy killing people.
@Kaique Reis Hey, I ain't knocking bards at all. I'm just saying that when diplomacy (or seduction) fails and things come to blows, high charisma and garbage strength can be problematic. A smart bard (especially at higher levels) often has enough tricks up their sleeve to figure something out eventually, but until then it's the more physically-capable party members who tend to get things done.
The filmmakers being able to translate the sort of hilarious absurdities that often come up in sessions, into film, is what I think will make this film a hit. At least with the D&D playing crowd haha.
@Elaysea Baker No tone intended, Elaysea. Sorry if it came off like that. Just trying to elaborate on my original post. I have known about D&D (the game) since the late 1970s, although I have never played it myself. I was just trying to make the point that the moviegoing audience tends to go to movies that look appealing to them in some way or other, all without ever knowing the backstory that brought the movie to the screen (i.e. a book or a video game, etc.) D&D has a rather small following numbers wise, both in players and the community, in contrast with audience that would go see this move based upon the KZclip trailer, its stars current or past popularity or its subject matter (i.e. Fantasy.) The fact that a player or member of that community choose (or not) to see the movie will have no real impact on its critical of financial success. The same applies to the example I gave with "The Notebook." That movie was not a roaring success because of Nicholas Sparks fans, but more because of the draw of its stars, a well-crafted script and execution, word of mouth and critical acclaim. Cheers.
@Michael Dobson sorry, I'm having a little trouble determining what your tone is. I mean no fight at all, I was just wondering if people who play dnd consider us, people who watch dnd players, one of them. I really enjoy vldl dnd and I feel like I am a part of the crowd, just wondering what the players think. Although thanks for the facts.
@Elaysea Baker A rather large portion of the viewers won't even know that this is based upon the D&D game (or even know what D&D is, or care.) Most will simply view it as another Hollywood Fantasy film. You see this a lot with films that are based on books/games. Many of the viewers will not have read the books, or are familiar with the games, and only realize the film is based upon a novel or a game when the opening credits begin. For example, Ryan Gosling in "The Notebook." A lot of people went to see that because of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, both very popular actors at the time. Few moviegoers would have previously read the romance novel it was based on. Same with Mel Gibson and "We Were Soldiers." How many moviegoers read that book (written by an obscure, retired Army general) before the movie came out? Cheers.
That's cute, you think their target audience is Advanced Dungeons and Dragons players, when it's targeting a more mainstream audience with the hope of building a new film franchise and gaining new players to the game.
@ND It doesn't matter if its like a Marvel movie, this is just how DnD games play out. Besides, what would you have done differently if you were to make a dnd based movie?
@Meat Head optimistic that is better. With what looks like a Forgotten Realms setting, with the Red wizards being necromancers ( bald heads with tattoos ) and what looks like a lich, Szass Tam maybe?
D&D is marketed as a serious high fantasy action/adventure game, but it is plays as a high fantasy comedy with elements of action and drama sprinkled on top.
I want to see the party arguing about how to unlock a door, trying all sorts of absurd things, only for someone to just come by and open it, allowing the party to realize it is unlocked. Because that is the truest of all D&D experiences.
That's what I've been predicting It's gonna Be kind of like the Lego movie Like it's in the player's imagination so that'll be revealed in I guess the ending or The middle point of the movie
If you consider silly fun home-brew campaigns I play with my friends to be the "source material" than this looks like the most accurate-to-the-source-material D&D movie ever.
@Bill bob the rules don't have anything to do with the tone of the game. i could play a comedy like goofy campaign and a dark serious one with the same rules. also what is with the rules say this the rules say that thing? they are a suggestion. you adapt the rules to fit the people, the campaign, the table, and sometimes even the situation. also if you are so concerned with the "advanced tier of game" you shouldn't play d&d in the fist place. there are far more complex game systems out there. don't get me wrong. play the game however they want but don't tell others they are doing it wrong. especially if they are having fun the way they play.
@Bill bob wow, what a subjective view you share here as a rule.. "Most homebrew games are this and that" Well I (and i bet maaany more people) share a different experience. Namely that homebrew games are more flexible and interesting than sticking a 100% to a book. Also a small reminder: Your way of playing is not the ultimate goal or the best way. Everyone seeks something different in a game and that is a good thing
I loved the part about party vs 1 caster that clearly has legendary actions, will put a great visual on simply how fast and dangerous a creature with legendary actions is.
The only thing that could complete it is if the characters take it really seriously at first until they start to realize the outcome won’t change either way.
I was skeptical, but this movie turned out to be great. I could practically hear the DM groaning every time the characters came up a new silly (but brilliant) plan 😂
I get the feeling that the super serious Paladin dude is the DMPC/NPC that's guiding them. Sort of going so far into seriousness to egg the players on into being even more goofy.
The goofiness actually works here since it gives off the vibe of an actual D&D campaign. I've never been in a campaign where the players took it seriously.
Maybe the other party members forgetting whether he's a Wizard or a Sorcerer can be an ongoing joke in the movie. And then at the end we find out he's actually a Warlock.
@storyteller0111 Ohhh gotcha. It's hard to tell what magic user is what class on the screen lmao. Didn't expect Hugh to be a rogue but I won't complain. Thanks for the info
@storyteller0111 I just read up on the lore, and it states Forge Fitzwilliam is the new Lord of Neverwinter, ultimately deposing Dagult Neverember at the end of the 15th century. But according to the lore, Nevember held ultimate autocratic power over Neverwinter as of 1496, so I wonder what’s gonna happen to Neverember during that 4 years gap. I hope this is something the movie will explain
@xDracolich Nah, his name is Forge Fitzwilliam and he's definitely a rogue :) This takes place after Neverember's rule, if I got the implications of some of the directors' comments right.
I can definitely see a good franchise built around D&D if it appears to be made with as much love and care as this film seems to be, albeit not with a grander mythology being built up like the MCU. Preferably the next installments would be standalone sequels taking place in different realms with a different cast of different characters. Maybe they all take place in the same world, the characters just don't intersect. Who would you like to see in a D&D film?
@Mr Sardonicus I have dreamed of a Drizzt movie or series for ages. but let's face the truth, there is no way in 2023 Hollywood would make a movie where all dark elfs are bad. Imagine the backlash. Even though in the books it is stated that they turned black after the civil war and could not stand the sun. A Dragonlance movie would be epic but again difficult because some of the main protagonists in the War of the Lance are Knights of Solamnia who are full anti-woke
This looks really fun… Id love to see a scene where someone suggests “splitting the party”, and they do so knowing its a bad idea and someone gets eaten
@Hiair stop sayings its bad because you dressed up and took your campaign so seriously its effected your logic and reasoning why people would like this.
Looks great! I'll definitely go see this, looks to capture the spirit of a party in DnD while having some nice looking effects. Chemistry seems to be there too between actors.
Gods I can "see" their character sheets and all the terrible rolls their doing. Can't wait to see it. I just hope that all this hype they are showing will not be a disappointment later.
@RazzleFrazzle Some serious generalization of Marvel movies or shows if you think they are all non serious and stale but also, Marvel movie formula or not, this how DnD has been for years, what were you expecting?
Given the normalization of D&D as well as the success of shows like TLOVM, I definitely think this movie will be more successful than previous films and I’m overall excited to see it!
DnD Players: Ah cool, yeah great movie. Owlbears are beasts now? Alright cool - we love a system that's subject to change WoTC: Subject to change , you say? Change that wallet to my property. Wildshape those Open Gaming License terms yo
I went to see Jesus Revolution on Tuesday and I saw this trailer before the movie began and I was caught off guard. This may be one of the best Action packed medieval films in a while.
Instead of Marvel movies we need some Wizards of the Sword Coast movies..... There is so much potential it's crazy. I would especially like to see a live action of Drizzit.
Just smells of a cheeky player "I cut my rope on the edge of the stairs!" "You sure? ....your friend knocked out someone with an axe" "Stairs are good"
Just gonna break down this combat round: 0:10 - Barbarian: "Okay, chop it off!" - passes the DC for perception and sleight of hand checks on a loose brick and stealthily picks it up 0:14 - Guard A: rolls less than the Barbarian's AC and misses. Hits brick instead - - - combat begins and everyone rolls initiative! - - - 0:15 - Surprise round begins! Barbarian rolls to attack and hits! Smashes brick on Guard A's foot and face. 0:16 - Extra Attack! Throws brick to Guard B who is on his way to help. Guard B rolls natural 20 on reflex save, ducks in time and brick smashes into Guard C right behind him. 0:18 - top of initiative! Bard uses turn to try and cut his bonds through the corner of a stone step. Fails dexterity check. 0:19 - Guard C's turn: rushes towards Barbarian and attacks. Misses! Guard A and B use their turns begin to crawl away from the battle. Barbarian's turn: succeeds in an athletics check to knock Guard C prone. 0:21 - top of initiative! Bard: fails dex check to break bonds on dull-edged stone step. Uses bonus action to inspire Babarian with "Oh we got em now!!!" 0:23 - Guard C approaches Barbarian cautiously, A and B still attempting to crawl away Barbarian uses extra inspiration from Bard to throw herself on Guard C, grabbing his head, and knocking him prone. succeeds both athletics and acrobatics checks! 0:25 - top of initiative! Bard still failing to cut his bonds loose.
@Bottlethrower Because like the mcu there are expectations when it comes to d&d. And the trailers have those expectations. D&D energie means that they see d&d. Instead of boring random fantasy. I know why your skepitical. To many good movies ruined by the woke crowd. I too fear it will be woke. But nothing i seen so far has any woke in it. So i am hopefull.
I love how much this feels just like one of the campaigns I've played with my friends over the years. It's epic and silly in equal measure. Can't wait to see the whole thing.
If I buy a ticket to go and see this movie, are Wizards of the Coast going to revoke it as I try to sit down, or will they charge me a subscription or micro-transactions to actually use a seat while watching the movie?
The analogy would have worked better if wotc gave you the movie for free, and allowed you to make money off of it first, and then later revoked the ability to make money off of it
So, Chris Pine being deliberately comedic is always great to watch. Hugh Grant doing campy evil is always fun. And this looks like a good time, let’s go see a movie, nothing too deep but why not type of popcorn flick. Reminds me a bit of Hellboy. Comedic but the villain doesn’t get the joke.
The female leads aren't going to be rolling any "1"s, but the male characters will scarcely get anything else, the writer effectively said as much when he bragged about emasculating the male characters.
The more I watch this and read the comments, the more I expect a twist that this is a story within a story of a group of young persons playing a campaign
The players casually setting off the trap is the most realistic thing i think in this movie
@Roboto 101 If I can be INCREDIBLY pedantic and annoying, the rogue isn't with them in that scene. (Chris Pine is a bard)
I'm sorry. Couldn't help it.
Reviews are in from SWSX festival....100 percent so far! :o)
I mean I can 100% see players setting off a trap right as someone was mentioning that there is a trap right there
@David Gomez he's not a wizard, he's a sorcerer
Realistic? Lol
I love the line, "I don't want to see you die....so I am going to leave the room."
@Musemistress what line is similar in 007? Don't tell me Goldfinger....
@CIGOL And yet we've seen similar lines with 007 movies.
It's a quip. The villain doesn't have to be broody and serious to BE serious all the time. Especially if they enjoy killing people.
neutral evil in a nutshell
Using this with my next bbeg
@Mittens! a movie and a session are very different things
the barbarian kicking ass, while the bard tries to free themself is the most accurate thing I've seen, also.
@Thomas Joyce well someone rolled a one on their Intelligence (Investigation) check
It seemed obvious that he was using a dropped axe to cut his ropes but, surprisingly, no. He was doing something stupid instead.
Does the bard have multiple personality disorder?
"himself"
@Kaique Reis Hey, I ain't knocking bards at all. I'm just saying that when diplomacy (or seduction) fails and things come to blows, high charisma and garbage strength can be problematic. @Michael Dobson are the people who watch other people play dnd part of that crowd?
You know, I’m sure this will perform wonderfully given that the owners of DnD have created a lot of good will between players and the brand.
Only terminally online twitter users care about ogl drama most actual players are just having fun playing dnd like normal
That's cute, you think their target audience is Advanced Dungeons and Dragons players, when it's targeting a more mainstream audience with the hope of building a new film franchise and gaining new players to the game.
@RICO PARADISE roll for persuasion, remember you have a -15 for persuasion
💀💀💀💀
@Alexander Forbes so the Amazon series isn’t happening?
Can we get a scene where something is obvious but they "roll a low perception" and they miss it completely
I mean, that's "I may have triggered the mechanism," right?
Honestly the part at 1:19 is pretty much like that
MUST
This movie has a massive "rolled multiple 1s" and the "chaotic uncooperative players" energy and I'm all in for it.
that song from the trailer but the lyrics “got a whole lotta love” (or whatever) are replaced by “rolled a whole lotta ones”
From last week's session:
"But you do remember I'm a drunk sparrow now?"
Better than that awful 2000s movie.
D&D is marketed as a serious high fantasy action/adventure game, but it is plays as a high fantasy comedy with elements of action and drama sprinkled on top.
Well said.
Which is why people love Critical Role
@Jim Jimjim Well it's woke influenced what you expect
@Topo Gigio Who cares about him? He's dead
I want to see the party arguing about how to unlock a door, trying all sorts of absurd things, only for someone to just come by and open it, allowing the party to realize it is unlocked. Because that is the truest of all D&D experiences.
Can you imagine if this ends with an actual party playing the game, along with their DM.
And it’s on the Enterprise. :)
Ward
ngl that is the ending I'm expecting lol
"same time next week?"
*murmurs of agreement*
"oh actually no I have a-"
*various complain noises*
That's what I've been predicting It's gonna Be kind of like the Lego movie Like it's in the player's imagination so that'll be revealed in I guess the ending or The middle point of the movie

I second that.
This is phase 4 MCU in D&D dress up. Hopefully the trailer tried too hard to show the “clever funny” bits
@Bill bob wow, what a subjective view you share here as a rule..
"Most homebrew games are this and that"
Well I (and i bet maaany more people) share a different experience.
Namely that homebrew games are more flexible and interesting than sticking a 100% to a book.

That...honestly, that looks like what every D&D game I've ever run and played in eventually turned into.
Crap?
The only thing that could complete it is if the characters take it really seriously at first until they start to realize the outcome won’t change either way.
I was skeptical, but this movie turned out to be great. I could practically hear the DM groaning every time the characters came up a new silly (but brilliant) plan 😂
And there is that one super serious dude that is 120% into character and roleplays every possible situation. Yep, sounds like a proper session to me.
I get the feeling that the super serious Paladin dude is the DMPC/NPC that's guiding them. Sort of going so far into seriousness to egg the players on into being even more goofy.
Indeed.
He is already my favorite.
Followed by the druidess.
The goofiness actually works here since it gives off the vibe of an actual D&D campaign. I've never been in a campaign where the players took it seriously.
love it
love it
love it
love it
love it
I can already tell even if it’s bad, it’s going to become a guilty pleasure of mine
The trailer is revealing too much. I hate this about modern movie advertising
@Epic Apex Plays the woman is the barbarian while the guy is a bard
...
until they call you a loser for enjoying it then you might sing a different tune.
@Epic Apex Playsyeah that’s probably part of it, but I think the guy acting like an idiot is more of a class thing rather than extreme wokeness
Looks like a bard, barbarian, druid, paladin, and a wizard... not a bad group! Hoping we get to see a rogue or a monk somehow too
Maybe the other party members forgetting whether he's a Wizard or a Sorcerer can be an ongoing joke in the movie.
And then at the end we find out he's actually a Warlock.
@storyteller0111 Ohhh gotcha. It's hard to tell what magic user is what class on the screen lmao. Didn't expect Hugh to be a rogue but I won't complain. Thanks for the info

Who would you like to see in a D&D film?
SHOW ME STRAHD :oD
The writers said they intentionally emasculated the men so thanks all my hype is dead now. But i appreciate their honesty.
“We INTENTIONALLY EMASCUALTED all the men” - writers for D & D movie. Get woke, go broke.
This movie definitely feels like one of my D&D sessions.
Including the humour?
Kas the blood handed has to be in the movie
having the red "WIZARDS" being the evil greedy villan is so in point here
@Mr Sardonicus I have dreamed of a Drizzt movie or series for ages. but let's face the truth, there is no way in 2023 Hollywood would make a movie where all dark elfs are bad. Imagine the backlash. Even though in the books it is stated that they turned black after the civil war and could not stand the sun. A Dragonlance movie would be epic but again difficult because some of the main protagonists in the War of the Lance are Knights of Solamnia who are full anti-woke
@James Kovach I am using them as main villain on the campaign i am currently running. And the campaign runs for almost 2 years
@Craig Wiess it is in the Forgotten Realms. The first big city shot they show is Waterdeep.
Army of the undead totally sounds like the plot line of "The Haunted Lands" trilogy
@OldSchool at 0:39 , that's literally Szass Tam. Look at the cover of "Dead in Thay". It's spot-on.
So excited for this movie!
Me too
i like this
Nice
Nice
Nice
i originally kind of excited about this movie. then writers come up and says "we intentionally emasculated men"
looks like typical woke hollywood garbage... i still can't see Chris Pine not being Captain Kirk
Just the fact that they jump through a Gelatinous Cube to escape a Displacer Beast is enough to get me to see this...
If blink dogs are used to fight the displacer beast… swoon.
yeah, 2 sessions ago my newb players threw a torch at a pit because i told them it was pitch black inside. Turns out a black pudding was inside
This looks really fun… Id love to see a scene where someone suggests “splitting the party”, and they do so knowing its a bad idea and someone gets eaten
I've never played a serious D&D campaign so this look exactly like what I would be playing. Just a fun silly action filled adventure
@Hiair The books and comics are some of the silliest shit I have ever read! What are you talking about?
@Hiair you have no friends I’m guessing 😂
seriously? Are we talking about the same RPG? Oh my God!!! What's wrong with these people?
@Hiair stop sayings its bad because you dressed up and took your campaign so seriously its effected your logic and reasoning why people would like this.
Looks great! I'll definitely go see this, looks to capture the spirit of a party in DnD while having some nice looking effects. Chemistry seems to be there too between actors.
Gods I can "see" their character sheets and all the terrible rolls their doing. Can't wait to see it. I just hope that all this hype they are showing will not be a disappointment later.
Same.
I fear the movie wont be as good as the trailer.
well this does capture the spirit of dungeons and dragons now does it. I'd love to watch this.
This looks so fun. Hell of a cast, as well, just as good looking and charismatic as any D&D player would create 😆
@Taylor C Same
I get the feeling YT is hiding the real comments.
No dump stats needed if you can just make it up 😁
I've always said "Imagine Guardians of the Galaxy.. but it's medieval Fantasy" and now here we are.
You should watch The Legend of Vox Machina then, it has real vibe of medieval Guardians of the Galaxy
This is genuinely good D&D energy.
The DM is trying his hardest to tell a serious story but the players are having none of that.
@Bottlethrower This is exactly what a DnD campaign looks like and feels like.
@RazzleFrazzle Some serious generalization of Marvel movies or shows if you think they are all non serious and stale but also, Marvel movie formula or not, this how DnD has been for years, what were you expecting?
i love this she'a
@theGamingPeaches thats not what a D&D campaign looks and feels light. Its what a MCU sequel looks and feels like.
Please expand on this "good D&D energy"
This looks like standard MCU fare, but dumber
I liked the first trailer better, but this movie still looks like a lot of fun!
this actually looks like it'll be a lot of fun. well done :) cast looks good too
The more I see in the trailers the more it makes me feel like I am watching someones D&D game. I hope the movie is that good.
Given the normalization of D&D as well as the success of shows like TLOVM, I definitely think this movie will be more successful than previous films and I’m overall excited to see it!
Bet
With the new announcements today from WotC, I am happy that I will now be able to support this movie. Looking forward to it!
Hell yeah!! Good for my friend.
DnD Players: Ah cool, yeah great movie. Owlbears are beasts now? Alright cool - we love a system that's subject to change
WoTC: Subject to change , you say? Change that wallet to my property. Wildshape those Open Gaming License terms yo
I went to see Jesus Revolution on Tuesday and I saw this trailer before the movie began and I was caught off guard. This may be one of the best Action packed medieval films in a while.
Instead of Marvel movies we need some Wizards of the Sword Coast movies..... There is so much potential it's crazy. I would especially like to see a live action of Drizzit.
Me too
This looks like fun. I wish the team wasn't just humans though. It would have been cool if they had Dwarf or an elf with them.
Imagine an aarakocra or a kenku! Those would be so cool to see
@blackjac5000 Michelle Rodriguez is a dwarf in this, is she not?
@Timothy Wilkes Because Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez are bigger stars?
The short girl is a tiefling.
"I don't want to see you die, which is why I'm gonna leave the room" 😂
Plus I've never seen a chubby ass dragon, kinda cute. I'm so in for this movie
“I’ll go last,” sounds a lot like my bard. He was not really wanting to be an adventurer, but kind of stumbled into it and stayed with his party.
"I don't want to see you die, which is why I'm gonna leave the room."
LMAO!
This is what modern audience want. Silly one liners and they are all for it.
@Dariusz Sobotka 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That took me out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Dariusz Sobotka 😂😂😂
LOL
I hope there's a scene where the villian is behind a protagonist and they say "He's right behind me, isnt he?" That will be a Movie Scene.
this seems like the type of movie that will indeed have that cliche
Fantasy movies are my fav genre. I hope this movie succeeds
Same here
...looks like we finally gonna see some properly designed dragons on screen - 1st time this century.
@Michael Knight It's a wurm not a dragon
It’s obese! Love it!
Looks like a guardians of the galaxy style movie 🍿
The thing is the guards getting dropped had axes and swords and yet our hero is choosing to cut his rope on... stairs ....I love this crew already.
@Sweaty Drug Clearly, he was using an oratory bardic performance to inspire courage. "Oh, we got 'em now."
I just assume the bard doesn't need hands to cast spells, like Vicious Mockery or giving out inspiration, that explains it.
Just smells of a cheeky player "I cut my rope on the edge of the stairs!"
"You sure? ....your friend knocked out someone with an axe"
"Stairs are good"
Kas has to be in the movie because he’s the only character that’s missing
Just gonna break down this combat round:
0:10 - Barbarian: "Okay, chop it off!" - passes the DC for perception and sleight of hand checks on a loose brick and stealthily picks it up

Guard A and B use their turns begin to crawl away from the battle.
Barbarian's turn: succeeds in an athletics check to knock Guard C prone.

0:23 - Guard C approaches Barbarian cautiously, A and B still attempting to crawl away
Barbarian uses extra inspiration from Bard to throw herself on Guard C, grabbing his head, and knocking him prone. succeeds both athletics and acrobatics checks!
0:25 - top of initiative! Bard still failing to cut his bonds loose.
Best line ever “who needs hero’s when you have thieves”
Yep, that comes from Hollywood's love affair with lawlessness and disorder.
Please let there be a scene where they are in front of a door they think is trapped... and then they find out it wasn't even locked.
Cutting the rope on stairs is very accurate D&D player energy.
@Esphaeras Praestans This is what rolling a "1" on that particular skill check looks like
@Esphaeras Praestans I would go nat 20. Or dc 10 INT roll to realize its loose 🤣
What is the dice success roll on cutting a rope with a piece of stairs?
Why can I see when they would roll a “nat 1” I’m going to love this movie
2:12
*Casual Viewers:* Why would he activelly step on the obvious trap bridge?
*DnD players:* (Vietnam Flashbacks)
Because there's frequently one player not paying attention or doesn't wait when the situation is being explained.
The part when Mary Sue screams: "Approved for sensitive audiences!" Chills.
this movie doesn't look half bad and this gives me d and d cartoon series vibes and videogame vibes.
Okay the OGL is back. Which means I'm good to go back to this movie with open arms. Lets get ready for D&D in March.
I was excited for this movie but I don't think I'm gonna be giving WoTC any of my money rn
The only thing this is missing is one of the characters dying, and then being replaced by a new character, played by the same actor.
Whatever Hugh Grant is doing now is precisely what I want him to do forever from now.
I may have never played myself, but the bit at 2:10 seems like something that actually happened in someone's campaign
Dear god this looks staggering good
I know that this movie is gonna be really awesome and I hope that they make more DND movies just like this
I love how much this feels just like one of the campaigns I've played with my friends over the years. It's epic and silly in equal measure. Can't wait to see the whole thing.
@Mr Critical That not incompe... incompetu... whatever. That just how Mash find traps. Me walk into 'em, and casty types heal me after.
Right down to one of the members triggering a trap for no damn reason other than incompetence
@Neander Phillip no u
Excellent song choice 🎶 I guess you could say I have a whole lotta love for it 😎🤏
I'd love a serious tone 'Baldur's Gate' movie in the style of Game of Thrones. Now THAT would be good!
I just hope this is better than the last attempts at a D&D movie.
So excited. Taking both my grandsons opening day...have to travel 4 hours between them to do it, but they both need to see it opening day.
I Love the part the Dragon said it's Dungeoning time, that made the movie for me.
THAT WAS NEVER SAID!!!
Hasbro thinks DnD is undermonetized and will eliminate any competition to make a profit.
Let's ruin their year and make this movie bomb.
Looks like so much fun! Can't wait to see it
SHILL HARDER PLEASE! Talk about how it has "that D&D energy" because it is so campy or whatever
It would be cool AF if in the end credits the ACTUAL actors just finished playing a D&D session ....and that continues through the next movies.
That’s a big IF.
“Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin good forces have invented or made”
Perfect Story.... Serious bad guys... awesome quest..... players goof off and tell jokes 🤣
The orifice? 😂😂😂
Damn I can't wait for this movie!
This looks really fun! It would be so awesome to watch this with my D&D friends! :)
Imagine it ends and the characters are just people in real life playing the DnD and the movie was all imagination
The bard won't take it since he was drunk from the very beginning.
This is hilarious. I like how they are following the fact a lot of times you roll a 1. XD
The female leads aren't going to be rolling any "1"s, but the male characters will scarcely get anything else, the writer effectively said as much when he bragged about emasculating the male characters.
I can't wait to watch this movie
Couldn't be a more worst time to release this.
They did this on purpose IMO - win people over and distract against the OGL situation
Wow, I feel like we both won with this movie. Some people will think they won. But you didn’t. We both won.
And eOne won most of all. Well played
I see what you're doing there, and I approve
I would love to see a Joe Manganiello cameo in this movie!
This looks so good. Great humor, action and casting. Looking forward to it 🍿👌
I was hoping to see a ranger, barbarian, magician, thief, cavalier and acrobat.
You called it and didn't even know it!
You can't have a DnD party in a show or movie without a bard.
Not bad for a movie that's going to get boycott. Make your move wotc, you know what ours is going to be.
I think an irrevocable OGL could help this movie a lot
Never played DND and I still wanna see this movie
Ok, now I want really want to play this D&D campaign right now!
This looks like a blast
The more I watch this and read the comments, the more I expect a twist that this is a story within a story of a group of young persons playing a campaign
that would be great
You know this is going to be good when the characters are acting like they are playing a real game of D&D
Amei, vou assistir.
Led Zeppelin music, Tony Stark witty banter, awkward silence moments...This feels like I'm watching a Marvel movie trailer instead.
Tom Cruise is the least weird person in Hollywood...let that sink in.
*LOL* 👀...🤣
