hey besties! we had so much to say about this album, honestly it was absolutely offensive... also I am not 100% sold on this background after editing this video, might play around with it a tiny more 👀 LOVE YOU ALL
@Livieroadtreego i don't know if they'd love it, because Tate has alot of trap-pop songs on the album which they tend to not love, but maybe the lyricism will make up for it ? i know there's some songs on the album that they'd love tho!
Now that Gracie has gotten her reaction I will begin my campaign for a reaction to Lizzy McAlpine’s Five Seconds Flat ❤️ you guys will love the story telling she even wrote a short film to go with album!
fun fact: this is not an album. gracie only wanted to call it as a project because it’s a fragments of different things. she’s currently working her debut album with aaron coming out early 2023 :)
taylor, lana, billie, lorde, sabrina carpenter, madison b, phoebe bridgers , mitski, maisie peters, gracie abrams, lizzy mcalphine and lexi jayde are the sad girl lyrical geniuses of this generation and sum of them even graduated from the school of taylorswiftification
@Aaron Huskyman thank you for saying this! you really conveyed everything i feel about olivia and this is the perfect response to people trying to discredit her.
@lily First and foremost, an honest thank you for elaborating on your statement instead of just leaving it there to hang. While I don’t want to poison this conversation from the get-go, I feel like I can already tell we are probably not going to agree on a lot. With that said, I do want to legitimately engage with the points you raised and tell you why I believe them to not be representative of the Olivia Rodrigo I know and the Olivia Rodrigo that has inspired me. 1. I have heard this criticism lobbed at DL before, but I just…don’t see it-more specifically in terms of villianizing Sabrina, or ‘the new girl’. While I feel the term ‘villianize’ is very loaded, I will acknowledge that there is a clear sense of sorrow and feeling of betrayal directed towards Josh, or ‘the guy’. ‘Villianize’? I don’t know. Obviously there probably is some negativity the listener would feel towards ‘the guy’ but I think DL is built so much on raw emotion-it’s someone in heartbreak describing in great detail how that heartbreak has effected them. The reaction from a listener should theoretically be a lot more visceral than just some classic ‘hero and villain’. But as for ‘the new girl’? I get none of that negativity. Olivia acknowledges ‘she’s everything I’m insecure about’. To me, that feels more complimentary than adversarial. She’s acknowledging this person has qualities she feels she doesn’t have. There’s some sympathy mined there for sure, but the sympathy stems from ‘the new girl’ being painted in a positive light, not a negative one. 2. I will address the broader point you’re trying to make about Olivia’s silence on the situation in a second, but I just want to say I feel like you may be slightly misinterpreting those lyrics from “traitor”. When she mentions the guy is talking to this girl, I believe she’s just conveying to the guy and the other girl did know each other when she and him were dating. Essentially, she is stating that the guy had an emotional affair. When she says “guess you didn’t cheat, but you’re still a traitor”, she’s acknowledging that there was no physical affair occurring, but that his heart lied with someone other than her. 3. In all honestly, I don’t necessarily disagree that there should have been a statement regarding the harassment/threats. And there were some. In an interview that took place less than 2 weeks after ‘DL’, Olivia shifted the focus away from the alleged triangle, stating “I totally understand people’s curiosity with the specifics of who the song’s about and what it’s about, but to me, that’s really the least important part of the song. It’s resonating with people because of how emotional it is, and I think everything else is not important.” She also expanded upon this view in multiple interviews since: “I put it out not knowing that it would get that reaction, so it was really strange [when] it did. I just remember [everyone being] so weird and speculative about stuff they had no idea about.” before going on to add “I don’t really subscribe to hating other women because of boys. I think that’s so stupid, and I really resent that narrative that was being tossed around.” Could these statements about the drama be more sweeping and explicit? Yes, and I think there is a level of responsibility that lies on her with that. I believe it is true that, while fans and artists are separate people, artists do have a degree of responsibility over the way their fans react and feel. Perhaps not enough action was taken by Olivia. I will concede that. But I reject that there was radio silence or a demonization against the other parties involved, especially the girl. 4. I mean, “for no reason”? I think there are a lot of reasons Olivia resonated with people and caught on like she did. Marketing is a part of it, for sure. Strong marketing is behind pretty much every pop star’s success. But think about the state of the world at the time DL jumped on the scene. Isolation and loneliness after once living in a vibrant world was a theme many could connect with even going beyond the break-up premise. But sticking within the break-up premise, the moody brooding tone of a lost young love provided an empathetic resonance for younger listeners and a wistful nostalgia for older listeners. I’m not going to say curiosity about Disney drama played zero role in anyone checking out DL or Sour. But tabloid theatrics were a mere sliver of the reason her music caught fire and holds power with many. While I am not trying to start any ‘beef’ here, I must say it feels like you’re doing what you believe Olivia to be guilty of-painting people as evil masterminds when they’re simply human beings doing human being things. She was a heartbroken teenager giving her perspective on her heartbreak, and was not trying to get the whole world to hate two specific people for the reasons I’ve stated above. And saying she is the one who ended the relationship is quite frankly just as speculative as you’re accusing fans of Olivia being. Additionally, there is a clear moment of accountability towards the end of the record-“one heart broke, four hands bloody”-in “favorite crime”. In terms of her laughing at her best friend slutshaming Sabrina, please elaborate there. I have no knowledge of this. The SNL sketch goes back into the accountability section covered in point 3. Skin wasn’t necessarily about Olivia, but there were certainly allusions to the situation-same with “deja vu”. And again, I just did not have that interpretation of “deja vu” (my favorite Liv song) at all. It is clearly addressed to the guy, it’s pointing out that he is doing the same things with this new girl. The song is not directed at said new girl. As I said from the onset, there’s probably not going to be a lot of agreement here, but I appreciate you taking the time for writing a response and reading this reply to it. I get the sense that there is some emotion tied to this topic for you, and there certainly is for me, as Sour really served as a light for me when I was in a dark dark place, and so I hope I have stayed reasonable through this response. Always appreciate the conversation.
@Aaron Huskyman 1. she created a false narrative with drivers licence the way olivia described joshuas actions with sabrina in drivers licence definitely villainized them, especially sabrina she made it seem like she stole him. she knew this would happen, she sat back and watched as people assumed they cheated and said nothing olivia is allowed to talk about her feelings. sabrina is allowed to date who she wants. josh is allowed to move on, but what’s not right is creating a narrative that isn’t true solely for the sake of a good song and then when people get treated like they aren’t humans bc of how u wrote the song you don’t do anything 2. she let this narrative run its course while she sat back and baked in the career move she sat back and watched her ex get hate for moving on and his new girl get hate for living her life only in sour did she reveal that they didn’t cheat. but also how do u say “u talked to her when we were [together]” then “guess u didn’t [cheat] but ur still a traitor” two very contradicting statements 3. she never had the urge to defend them the fact she never addressed the hate, couldn’t even take a second to go online, and she definitely was seeing all the things being said about them. really disgusting because as a woman how can u sit and watch another woman get bullied and harrassed bc of you solely bc she was simply existing and doing exactly what she did. she also should have defended josh bc as much as he hurt her and he is wrong for that nothing can compare to what she did . u don’t deserve being harassed for breaking up with someone bc that’s something that we all do it’s something that’s apart of life, olivia will break someone’s heart the way josh broke hers does that mean she deserves death threats for being a human being? 4. she got a pity party from the world for absolutely no reason i see people saying “oh but u can’t blame Olivia for her fans” true, but she enables them by staying quiet why does she get treated differently for something we all go through? Olivia has also dated someone with an ex how would she feel if the ex wrote about their breakup (which is perfectly okay she has the right to do that), but then has the audacity to mention the exes new girl who keep in mind they did not cheat with, but it’s a problem bc she exposed their private relationship and painted a picture that was not the truth. u can write about what u want but when it becomes a false narrative that’s also a defamation of someone’s character then that’s a problem. there are boundaries, she really had no business involving sabrina in her messy breakup bc frankly sabrina was minding her business, Sabrina and josh were even broken up when all of Olivia’s crazy fans were attacking them ppl who were like “oh he’s trying to make her the bad guy “ “why won’t he let it go” olivia didn’t have to let the breakup go why should they let go the fact that bc of her they nearly lost their lives sabrina was going through the same thing Olivia was but olivia got praise for dating the guy and sabrina got hate? personally if a guy was toxic and hurt me and I found out he was in a new relationship I would not form an insane rage towards the girl bc she did nothing to me, I would warn her bc I’m a feminist assuming she must hate sabrina because you must hate someone to involve them in a situation that has nothing to do with them and then profit off of the world tearing them apart she also laughed at her best friend slut shaming sabrina, and when snl called sabrina a bastard, weird how everyone chooses to ignore these things just bc she’s young and made a sad album. olivia is a great musician but the way she earned her fame is another topic for discussion. i find myself asking where her moral compass is to be able to sit and watch someone get death threats over a song u wrote, which painted the narrative that they were in the wrong. never heard her take accountability in any of her songs when she is the one who ended the relationship it’s also funny how locals and livies refused to believe that skin wasn’t about Olivia when it clearly wasn’t, but when Olivia said deja wasn’t about anybody they believed her, obviously she’s gonna say it’s not about anyone it has disgusting lyrics like “she thinks it’s special but it’s all reused” that does not sound like someone who supports other women it sounds like someone who takes the anger they should have for the guy out on the girl instead. bc in that song she was literally saying “ha that bitch has my leftovers she’s not special “ if that’s a feminist or a good person to you then wow
also!! If you guys are accepting suggestions atm, id like to say that Lizzy McAlpines latest album Five Seconds Flat is soooo special and unique! she's a songwriting genius. Its not as depressing as TIWIFL but equally as offensive and superior hahahaha. aaaand she's the sole songwriter in the majority of the songs which is amazing and so impressive!
🌿TIWIFL time stamps✨ - feels like 4:19 - rockland 12:09 - for real this time 18:20 - camden 27:32 - the bottom 38:45 - wishful thinking 43:56 - older 51:55 - better 1:01:18 - hard to sleep 1:08:10 - augusta 1:13:53 - painkiller 1:20:24 - alright 1:28:15
I love the tradition of teen/young songwriters name dropping their besties! Gracie and Audrey, Conan and Ashley, going all the way back to Taylor and Abigail and Miley and Lesley etc.
i absolutely LOVE when emily says “do you know WHAT??? i feel the need to say SOMETHING.” and then says something completely offensive it gets me every time
they put lyrics into perspective so fast. like it takes me a couple times to listen to the songs to fully digest and appreciate them. And even then I’m still realizing things months later. It’s so offensive how fast they put things together it clicks everything together for me 😭
Hard to sleep is actually one of my favourite tracks on the album. For me, it really relates to the concept of social anxiety. Especially the lyric "I guess the gravity of going out is sinking in". She also mentions "being stuck in your head" quite a lot of times which is also very typical for people who struggle with social anxiety.
same, it’s definitely one of my favorites, you have to be in a state of mind where everything feels out of ur control to truly grasp the feeling this song will give you. I think they didn’t really dig deep into the lyrics bc they heard the melody and assumed it was just like the rest.
You guys need to check out Lizzy McAlpine's album five seconds flat!! The production and storytelling is out of the world!! Love yall so much, thanks for listening to our requests!!
Love you both! So glad you finally reacted to Gracie 😊 Honestly, her Minor EP is equally, if not more, offensive if you ever want to react to that as well 😬
@karma the cat yeah she has talent but when I start to think about how many talented artists there are who remain underrated, it would always lead me to this conclusion... it's the drama
don't forget about her talent. the drama played a big part in the vitality of the song, for sure. but many people simply related strongly to drivers license or it reminded them of their own first teenage heartbreak.
I've been following Gracie since her Instagram originals days and she is very referential (like TS) and things make even more sense if you know the whole back catalog, so I suggest listening to Minor EP. Also I agree with everyone here, 'Five Seconds Flat' by Lizzy has to be next!
same here, came to comment that exact thing. minor ep is definitely a must, it’s so special🥹 even her old insta originals are worth checking out tbh, she really can’t write a bad song
Have y’all listened to Phoebe Bridgers’ Punisher??? Her songwriting and production is genius + her feature on nothing new is such a perfect intro to her music!
now that you’ve reacted to Gracie please react to Lizzy McAlpine album called Five Seconds Flat!!! her lyrics are incredible and so is her voice! i love her so much :)
she has a single called “block me out” and “difficult” which was produced by aaron and recorded at the long pod. she also worked with aaron for her upcoming album coming out early next year ;)) pls react to her minor ep. as well and her other singles pls she doesn’t have that many song :>
Screaming, crying, throwing up. Sooo excited to see your reaction Gracie this has been my number one request. Thank you ladies for working so hard before Paris ❤️
I knew you guys would love Gracie's music, it's so good!! I would recommend Lizzy McAlpine's album Five Seconds Flat, I think you both would really like it!
AAAAA GRACIE !!!! This album has helped me through some tough times and as someone who has close ties with Maine, the songs Rockland, Camden, and Augusta are some of my fav songs of all time!! U should def check out her ep "Minor" it is SOOOOOO OFFENSIVE, especially the title track!!!
"I really really hope that one day she might open for Taylor" well... SHE IS AND I AM THE MOST EXCITED EVER TO SEE HER AND TAYLOR ON THE ERAS TOURRRR :)
y’all gotta check out her minor ep too!! it inspired liv to write drivers license :) other recommendations i have are 5sos5 by 5 seconds of summer (it has their best & most offensive lyricism to date!) and when facing the things we turn away from by luke hemmings (lead singer of 5sos with equally offensive lyricism)
omg... i've been requesting wfttwtaf for ages !!! convinced Emily would LOVE the first half, and Bonny more the second. And I just know they would find the instrumental in mum and lyrics in slip away soooo offensive. Also, bonus points because he has a small place in the TSCU
I get what y'all mean when you say the album can sound too depressing however to me personally, it feels very honest and in a depressive episode/state, it sometimes feel very eye rolly to hear people say things like "things get better!" I feel very validated by gracie in some of the sadder songs tbh :)
The friendship songs made we think about how y’all met?! Would you be open to doing a video chatting about how your friendship formed and how it’s been over the years living together? Maybe favorite memories y’all have as friends! Love y’all so much 🍒🌸💞
fun fact: blake was her ex boyfriend, they got back together; however the breakup songs are likely about him due to the connections to 'unlearn,' which is confirmed to be about him!
love y’all so so much. but also when y’all’ were saying it’s depressive and stuff (which it totally is) keep in mind she was 20 / 21 / 22 writing this this record which are such messy up and down & confusing years of life :’) so to be so young and be able to process through those tough weird emotions at this time of life i think she did incredible at capturing her authentic feelings ✨ no hate to what y’all said just wanted to add this perspective in so to speak 💛
i got through a really hard depressive episode last year and this album actually helped me realize that someone out there that had nothing to do with me actually felt the same and was fine now it made me fell better
When I tell you I screamed nine minutes ago this video dropped and besides Maisie Peters reactions I have never been more excited fora video from you guys. Thank you so much. I saw her in concert. She was amazing.
Sooooo obsessed you’ve done Gracie 🥹 she is my #2 behind Taylor!! Only just starting the vid but if you haven’t listed to her most recent single release ‘Block Me Out’ it’s truely in the running to beat ATWTMV in my Spotify wrapped which is a HUGE CALL
i love you both so much! i’m so excited that you guys finally reacted to gracie, she deserves so much recognition; her and her music are so beautiful! i will now be campaigning for a lizzy mcalpine reaction, give me a minute and five seconds flat are SO OFFENSIVE in lyrics, melodies, and production ❤️
time stamps - feels like 4:19 - rockland 12:09 - for real this time 18:20 - camden 27:32 - the bottom 38:45 - wishful thinking 43:56 - older 51:55 - better 1:01:18 - hard to sleep 1:08:10 - augusta 1:13:53 - painkiller 1:20:24 - alright 1:28:15
I started listening to Gracie a few months ago and literally fell in love with her and her music and I'm so glad you girls reacted to This Is What It Feels Like !!! Definitely recommend reacting to Minor, her EP, which is equally (if not more) offensive -- and fun fact, it inspired Olivia Rodrigo to write drivers license
Guyss you gotta thank Blondie lol I honestly discover Gracie on my own love her music and I found out she's a Taylor stan and hanging out with Taylor 😭 they're like my main stan ever
Funny…Bonnie’s last comment is that she hopes Gracie might open for Taylor one day…and that’s exactly why I watched this vid, bc she’s one of the openers for the show I’m PRAYING I’ll be able to see! Sooo excited, tickets go on sale in one week, ahhh!! 💜 Thx for the reaction too.. I always appreciate that you see to be able to find something positive to focus on, even if it’s not exactly your new obsession…
Don't know if this is something that you guys would do, but it would be so cool if you reacted to Olivia Rodrigos unreleased songs! She has a ton such as pretender, Naive Girl, gross, Victim, 21st century girls, apocalyptic crush, and more! You can find them all on a KZclip channel called "wholseome" !
I think "For Real This Time" is my first love by Gracie's and now I listened to this album on repeat. Anyway you guys need to react to NIKI album "Nicole" as well, she is apparently part of TSU from Indonesia cause she's opened Red Tour. You guys might love it... especially track #10.
I wish you girls knew how much you mean to me. your videos make my entire week and I am so inspired by you both. you always make me smile and cause me to open my music taste and I am so thankful you have fun doing these videos because I don't know what I'd do without them. also I am OBSESSED with the new background!!!
You should definitely do Minor, her other project. I actually like it even more but I love both. She just put out a new song 2 days ago as well that was super good.
I think gracie purposefully called this an EP rather than an album because it wasn’t what she imagined her first album to be and said it was more like pieces/fragments of that time of her life, which might explain why it can seem a little repetitive in terms of themes (especially closer to the end) and super depressing lol
So Blake Slatkin (Older producer) is actually Gracie’s boyfriend. I think all of the songs about love and breakups are about him and their relationship timeline. I know she made a TikTok explaining it a little bit. I’m so glad you reacted to this I love Gracie so much.
1:24 this is what it feels like by Gracie Abrams !! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ looveee itt so much! I think it’s literally the best song I’ve heard so far. So I’m going to her concert 🫶🏻
I think you guys would LOVE Emily Yoke! I just discovered her and she is absolutely incredible. She has a very dreamy, Lana Del Rey sound, that is still unique and it just hits you right in the heart! 😍
Fun fact: her boyfriend (maybe ex now?) Blake produced a lot of her earlier songs and a couple songs on this album. and most of them are the sadder emo songs so it's giving Lindsey Buckingham and Stevei Nicks vibes also Olivia ridrigo wrote drivers license after hearing Gracie's EP "Minor", specifically "I Miss You Im Sorry" which those will also rip your heart out 🥰
I LOVE GRACIE SO MUCH AND THIS ALBUM MEANS A LOT TO MEEE!!! i love you guys your reactions are always the best. you truly need to react to the album “minor” by gracie too
I think it’s quite obvious from this EP that Gracie has or had a mental illness, whether it’s depression or a ED, and i always thought “painkillers” was about the disease, sort of like her talking to it. “i almost like the way you fooled to make me feel like this would last forever”, like saying she would never heal from it and again “tricked into thinking you were stronger” like she couldn’t beat the disease, but perhaps she did. “i called you out and labelled you a problem” she’s saying that she was not okay and she realised she had to seek for help. Also the fact that the song is called painkillers and she says she wakes up sweating, maybe a side effects from medicines? (she then does mention “the side effect is cold resentment). i also think the codepence refers to medicines, like she can’t cope without medicines. “to sleep without you here would do me better” like if she wasn’t depressed or other, she would sleep much better. the last bit “hold me slowly” does feel like a relationship, but she said she wrote this bit when she was 16 and she added it to the song, so it makes sense! also, the fact that the following song is “alright” and it starts with “i still avoid medication” and she mentions she “never thought of a fallback”. i also have a theory that the main theme of the album is actually her disease and “this is what it feels like” refers to how it influences her life and relationships; you know, “you could never fix me”, “i’m gonna drag you to the bottom” ecc. would love to know if anyone else has interpreted this particular song like this and the album title, i always felt it was about more than a relationship
Ok so this is a little late but I definitely see what your talking about. For me also, saying this album is ,just‘ about a breakup feels kinda wrong because it dives in so much deeper and it’s also not just the mainstream concept about a breakup song. Especially in hard to sleep I think it’s about social anxiety and her being stuck in her head, which also is kind of a thing kn the whole album, because she seems to overthink a lot. This I think you can also see in Camden because in on line it says ‚self diagnosing til I’m borderline‘ which for me also feels like she’s looking for a reason why she feels this way and just doesn’t wanna acknowledge that it’s only her head which id making up problems. I feel like I just said quite obvious things but anyway, loved to hear your thoughts
I'm seeing so many comments telling you guys to listen to Lizzy McAlpines album Five Seconds Flat and so I just listened to it... I'm speechless. you guys would love it. PLEASE REACT TO IT!
I LITERALLY listened to this album for the first-time last night just so I would be prepared for both of your reactions on KZclip, and I am so grateful bec this album is validating and doing a lot for me currently. (brb crying, bec 'Rockland' is my fave bc tht bridge is iconic 🥺)
As a woman in her 30's, this kind of music also is hard for me to listen to over and over again because *growth* (I say it with air quotes as I am constantly growing haha) has allowed me to think things aren't always depressing/difficult. HOWEVER my late teen/20 something year old self would have listened to this album on repeat crying to all the lyrics, such a beautifully written album thank you for sharing your reaction!
gracie is so good and even better live:')) her ep minor was the soundtrack to my first heartbreak but lets be real all her music lets u feel all the feels all over again
We’ve been waiting for this one!!! gracie’s music is just so good (i love rockland). Now that you’ve listened to tiwifl you should listen to her ep “minor” and some of her other singles!!! also i agree with everyone saying you also need to listen to lizzy mcalpine’s music cause that’s perfect too.
Omg yes it was a bit depressing but loved loved loved seeing your comments and reactions on it and i felt like i was there with you guys coz i didnt know the artist. Now i have more songs to add to my autumn playlist lol thank you so much for the content and would love you guys to react to other new artists! kisses from Spain!!!!!
for video suggestions, i’d love to hear your guys’ thoughts on NIKI’s new album “Nicole”! NIKI’s my fav lyricist besides Taylor and Gracie, and i feel like you guys would love her music
I would totally 100% be into and market the hell out of your podcast if you start one! Like I could listen to things like in the first few minutes of the video. Just general stuff, improv, music, Taylor OBVIOUSLY, “personal journals” sort of thing. Love y’all❤️
hey besties! we had so much to say about this album, honestly it was absolutely offensive... also I am not 100% sold on this background after editing this video, might play around with it a tiny more 👀 LOVE YOU ALL
GRACIE ABRAMS HAS ANOTHER ALBUM IT'S CALLED GOOD RIDDANCE AND WE ALL NEED TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS
You need to do a reaction to the album Sleep Well Beast by the national. It’s Aaron’s band and is one of my fav albums of all time!
@Livieroadtreego i don't know if they'd love it, because Tate has alot of trap-pop songs on the album which they tend to not love, but maybe the lyricism will make up for it ? i know there's some songs on the album that they'd love tho!
Glad you enjoyed it! Her first EP "Minor" is even better, in my opinion. You should check it out!
you guys NEED to do minor now too, and all of her other songs too (my personal fav gracie song is mess it up)
Now that Gracie has gotten her reaction I will begin my campaign for a reaction to Lizzy McAlpine’s Five Seconds Flat ❤️ you guys will love the story telling she even wrote a short film to go with album!
YES, PLEASE!!!
yes i'd live for a lizzy reaction !!!!
PLEASE DO LIZZY
Pleaseeee
Yess this NEEEDS to happen
Fun fact: Taylor commented on one of Gracie’s tiktoks and said she loved Rockland and needed 5-7 business years to recover
YES I SAW THAT
omg that's my favorite... taste.
fun fact: this is not an album. gracie only wanted to call it as a project because it’s a fragments of different things. she’s currently working her debut album with aaron coming out early 2023 :)
IT'S THE BEST!!!!
@James itsssssss outttttttt
@Daisyit’s so soon!!
ITS COMING FEBRUARY 24TH
Speaking of Olivia she was inspired to write drivers license after listening to Gracie’s first EP, Minor 🥺
@Jimmy Swifties OMG STAYYYYYY thats my fav song, IT NEEDS A REACTION
@Jimmy Swifties RBWHFJ YES MESS IT UP IS ONE OF MY FAVS
YESSS MINOR!! AND SINGLES OFC WE NEED THE REACTIOOONNN
@bea let's not forget her droplets too! "Mean It", "Stay", "Mess It Up" is also a great songs!!!! I very hope that they'll reacting to it!!!
Please please please react to her first EP Minor!! It shows more of her versatility, and 21 is actually one of her best songs 🥺

@Aaron Huskyman thank you for saying this! you really conveyed everything i feel about olivia and this is the perfect response to people trying to discredit her.
Sasha Alex Sloan also ❤️
@lily First and foremost, an honest thank you for elaborating on your statement instead of just leaving it there to hang.

@Aaron Huskyman 1. she created a false narrative with drivers licence
the way olivia described joshuas actions with sabrina in drivers licence definitely villainized them, especially sabrina she made it seem like she stole him. she knew this would happen, she sat back and watched as people assumed they cheated and said nothing
olivia is allowed to talk about her feelings. sabrina is allowed to date who she wants. josh is allowed to move on, but what’s not right is creating a narrative that isn’t true solely for the sake of a good song and then when people get treated like they aren’t humans bc of how u wrote the song you don’t do anything
2. she let this narrative run its course while she sat back and baked in the career move
she sat back and watched her ex get hate for moving on and his new girl get hate for living her life
only in sour did she reveal that they didn’t cheat. but also how do u say “u talked to her when we were [together]” then “guess u didn’t [cheat] but ur still a traitor” two very contradicting statements
3. she never had the urge to defend them
the fact she never addressed the hate, couldn’t even take a second to go online, and she definitely was seeing all the things being said about them.
really disgusting because as a woman how can u sit and watch another woman get bullied and harrassed bc of you solely bc she was simply existing and doing exactly what she did.
she also should have defended josh bc as much as he hurt her and he is wrong for that nothing can compare to what she did . u don’t deserve being harassed for breaking up with someone bc that’s something that we all do it’s something that’s apart of life, olivia will break someone’s heart the way josh broke hers does that mean she deserves death threats for being a human being?
4. she got a pity party from the world for absolutely no reason
i see people saying “oh but u can’t blame Olivia for her fans” true, but she enables them by staying quiet
why does she get treated differently for something we all go through?
Olivia has also dated someone with an ex how would she feel if the ex wrote about their breakup (which is perfectly okay she has the right to do that), but then has the audacity to mention the exes new girl who keep in mind they did not cheat with, but it’s a problem bc she exposed their private relationship and painted a picture that was not the truth. u can write about what u want but when it becomes a false narrative that’s also a defamation of someone’s character then that’s a problem. there are boundaries, she really had no business involving sabrina in her messy breakup bc frankly sabrina was minding her business, Sabrina and josh were even broken up when all of Olivia’s crazy fans were attacking them
ppl who were like “oh he’s trying to make her the bad guy “ “why won’t he let it go” olivia didn’t have to let the breakup go why should they let go the fact that bc of her they nearly lost their lives
sabrina was going through the same thing Olivia was but olivia got praise for dating the guy and sabrina got hate? personally if a guy was toxic and hurt me and I found out he was in a new relationship I would not form an insane rage towards the girl bc she did nothing to me, I would warn her bc I’m a feminist
assuming she must hate sabrina because you must hate someone to involve them in a situation that has nothing to do with them and then profit off of the world tearing them apart
she also laughed at her best friend slut shaming sabrina, and when snl called sabrina a bastard, weird how everyone chooses to ignore these things just bc she’s young and made a sad album.
olivia is a great musician but the way she earned her fame is another topic for discussion. i find myself asking where her moral compass is to be able to sit and watch someone get death threats over a song u wrote, which painted the narrative that they were in the wrong. never heard her take accountability in any of her songs when she is the one who ended the relationship
it’s also funny how locals and livies refused to believe that skin wasn’t about Olivia when it clearly wasn’t, but when Olivia said deja wasn’t about anybody they believed her, obviously she’s gonna say it’s not about anyone it has disgusting lyrics like “she thinks it’s special but it’s all reused” that does not sound like someone who supports other women it sounds like someone who takes the anger they should have for the guy out on the girl instead. bc in that song she was literally saying “ha that bitch has my leftovers she’s not special “ if that’s a feminist or a good person to you then wow
@Tammy oh pls don’t defend her
PLEASE
yessssss love this album SO much.
YESSSS I’m waiting for the day they do LIZZY
@Jenna Aguirre YES NIKI omg
@Channel with the vids yesss that album is so offensive

THANK U, U ARE GODSENT
Fun Fact: Audrey (Gracie's friend that she wrote about in Feels Like) is a backing vocal in Feels Like 😊
wow loveee this
I love the tradition of teen/young songwriters name dropping their besties! Gracie and Audrey, Conan and Ashley, going all the way back to Taylor and Abigail and Miley and Lesley etc.
“This is so depressing… this is so depressing” that was the realest shit Bonny could’ve said about Gracie’s music LOLLLL
i absolutely LOVE when emily says “do you know WHAT??? i feel the need to say SOMETHING.” and then says something completely offensive it gets me every time
they put lyrics into perspective so fast. like it takes me a couple times to listen to the songs to fully digest and appreciate them.
OMG YESS
yess!
Vouch!
Love you both! So glad you finally reacted to Gracie 😊 Honestly, her Minor EP is equally, if not more, offensive if you ever want to react to that as well 😬
Totally! I think there’s a greater variety in sound in Minor than this project but both have her amazing lyricism and vocals!
YES!!
Fun fact: she's already working on a new album at Long Pond with Aaron :)
she recently did a video with vogue where she revealed she's working on a new album and aaron posted a story with her
Gracie just came out with a new album called "Good Riddance" id love it if you made a reaction video, its truly a piece of art.
YESSS IT IS!!!
camden actually has perfect lyrics and it tears me apart every time I listen to it. I absolutely adore Gracie and her lyricism
"...Olivia got so big with Sour while other artists giving the same energy don't quite get there..."
It's the love-triangle DRAMA, sis.
@Arbien i agree. it caused people to keep coming back to it, keep thinking about it.
YES thank you, I recommended Phoebe too, I want them to react to Punisher so badly 😭
coming here bc gracie's debut album was released today and after listening to it on repeat for hours i needed to feel my feeling validated
good riddance is everything to me how do i cope 😭
now that you’ve reacted to Gracie please react to Lizzy McAlpine album called Five Seconds Flat!!! her lyrics are incredible and so is her voice! i love her so much :)
I second this!!
The lyric in Wishful Thinking “Do you regret how I see you now?” Gets me every time 🥹
ITS MY MOST FAVORITE SONG TO FUCKING EXIST
I added it to my playlist before finishing the chorus.. I heard the first line and added. The vocals and melody AH
she has a single called “block me out” and “difficult” which was produced by aaron and recorded at the long pod. she also worked with aaron for her upcoming album coming out early next year ;)) pls react to her minor ep. as well and her other singles pls she doesn’t have that many song :>
YEEEESS LIzzy is so so good and so underrated!😭
AAAAA GRACIE !!!! This album has helped me through some tough times and as someone who has close ties with Maine, the songs Rockland, Camden, and Augusta are some of my fav songs of all time!! U should def check out her ep "Minor" it is SOOOOOO OFFENSIVE, especially the title track!!!
Being from Maine, it’s so cool to have those places tied to these amazing songs!
"I really really hope that one day she might open for Taylor" well... SHE IS AND I AM THE MOST EXCITED EVER TO SEE HER AND TAYLOR ON THE ERAS TOURRRR :)
the new album that she's working on IS all recorded at long pond 💛 maybe that's what Em read! She did another song with Aaron called Block me out too!
@Murk Motwani it's coming out friday 7th
@Katie Strickland oh alright thanks:)
@Murk Motwani not sure but one of the singles came out today I think! Or it could be a stand alone single, not sure
Do u know when is gonna come out??
Gracie is the love of my life. I love her songs and her voice just beautiful
y’all gotta check out her minor ep too!! it inspired liv to write drivers license :) other recommendations i have are 5sos5 by 5 seconds of summer (it has their best & most offensive lyricism to date!) and when facing the things we turn away from by luke hemmings (lead singer of 5sos with equally offensive lyricism)
omg... i've been requesting wfttwtaf for ages !!! convinced Emily would LOVE the first half, and Bonny more the second. And I just know they would find the instrumental in mum and lyrics in slip away soooo offensive. Also, bonus points because he has a small place in the TSCU
OMG I WOULD DIE IF THEY DID ANYTHING RELATED TO 5SOS 😭 PRETTY PLEASE BONNY & EMILY
Omg YES I would love a 5sos reaction!!! plus they are also aussies
@Nathalie yea!! but they broke up again and he's now dating maude apatow
WAIT they got back together??? omg????
love y’all so so much. but also when y’all’ were saying it’s depressive and stuff (which it totally is) keep in mind she was 20 / 21 / 22 writing this this record which are such messy up and down & confusing years of life :’) so to be so young and be able to process through those tough weird emotions at this time of life i think she did incredible at capturing her authentic feelings ✨ no hate to what y’all said just wanted to add this perspective in so to speak 💛
i got through a really hard depressive episode last year and this album actually helped me realize that someone out there that had nothing to do with me actually felt the same and was fine now
it made me fell better
Gracie is such a great artist. There's something in her voice that makes me feel relief.
now i need a minor reaction lmao😭 minor is probably my favourite gracie song everr
i second this
also adding to the petition for “five seconds flat” by Lizzy mcalpine!! It is seriously so good
When I tell you I screamed nine minutes ago this video dropped and besides Maisie Peters reactions I have never been more excited fora video from you guys. Thank you so much. I saw her in concert. She was amazing.
gracie's songwriting and voice are so superior, glad that you reacted to her 🥰
I wanna see you guys reacting to her debut album, “Good Riddance”🙏🏼it’s soooo good!
"i really hope that one day she might open for Taylor" IT CAME TRUE 🥹 SHE'S OPENING FOR TAYLOR IN THE ERAS TOUR
I love Gracie!!!!!! You should check out her Minor EP as well
yess!!
Omg y’all predicted her opening for Taylor ❤

you definetely should react to one of phoebe's bridgers albums
I started listening to Gracie a few months ago and literally fell in love with her and her music and I'm so glad you girls reacted to This Is What It Feels Like !!! Definitely recommend reacting to Minor, her EP, which is equally (if not more) offensive -- and fun fact, it inspired Olivia Rodrigo to write drivers license
Guyss you gotta thank Blondie lol
I honestly discover Gracie on my own love her music and I found out she's a Taylor stan and hanging out with Taylor 😭 they're like my main stan ever
I always appreciate that you see to be able to find something positive to focus on, even if it’s not exactly your new obsession…
oh my god YES i have been WAITING. this is one of my favorite albums of all time and getting to see it live when she opened for olivia was OFFENSIVE
PLEASE check out lizzy mcalpine’s “five seconds flat” album! her writing is amazingggg
Yessss
I second this!
YESS
Please react to her ep “minor” it’s so amazing and it features the iconic “I miss you, I’m sorry” which u guys are gonna love!!!❤
I think "For Real This Time" is my first love by Gracie's and now I listened to this album on repeat. Anyway you guys need to react to NIKI album "Nicole" as well, she is apparently part of TSU from Indonesia cause she's opened Red Tour. You guys might love it... especially track #10.
it’s so worth listening to her other album which is quite short and her singles stay and block me out!
I wish you girls knew how much you mean to me. your videos make my entire week and I am so inspired by you both. you always make me smile and cause me to open my music taste and I am so thankful you have fun doing these videos because I don't know what I'd do without them. also I am OBSESSED with the new background!!!
gracie’s so talented it’s crazy
to continue Taylor's cinematic universe do Clairo's albuns pleaseee!!!
Jack produced most of the songs and Lorde does bg vocals in the last album
You should definitely do Minor, her other project. I actually like it even more but I love both. She just put out a new song 2 days ago as well that was super good.
You should react to her first ep now, its called 'Minor'! It's only 6 songs. You could also react to her Singles, there's also 6!
yesss
Love the new set up 😍😍 another rec is Lizzy McAlpine’s five seconds flat album!!
I can't believe you reacted to this SUPERIOR album. I've been waiting for this reaction my whole life😭😭😭
How are we coping with the fact that Midnights will be here in just a few weeks?!!! Also Bonny when do you leave for your overseas trip?
@Katie Strickland they are going to be in paris together to react 🥰
@Chats & Reacts oh wow! Will you be back before Midnights comes out so you and Em can react together?
NOT WELL!! I leave on the 10th! so soooon!
THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN MY LIFE FOR THE PAST YEAR! THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO IT!
I've been waiting for this for so long and I can't wait!
Please do her Minor album too. That's my favorite project of hers! Love what you do!❤️
I think gracie purposefully called this an EP rather than an album because it wasn’t what she imagined her first album to be and said it was more like pieces/fragments of that time of her life, which might explain why it can seem a little repetitive in terms of themes (especially closer to the end) and super depressing lol
Please react to Florence and the machine. She is an superior artist. Her last album was mostly a Jack Antonoff album.
Fun fact: her boyfriend (maybe ex now?) Blake produced a lot of her earlier songs and a couple songs on this album. and most of them are the sadder emo songs so it's giving Lindsey Buckingham and Stevei Nicks vibes
also Olivia ridrigo wrote drivers license after hearing Gracie's EP "Minor", specifically "I Miss You Im Sorry" which those will also rip your heart out 🥰
i was at the gracie show where she performed the whole 10 minutes of all too well. it was so so special
The way you said you hope Gracie opens for Taylor and now she actually is!! Y’all are masterminds!
I feel like I just said quite obvious things but anyway, loved to hear your thoughts
when you said she reminds you of olivia, olivia actually said gracie’s music is what inspired sour! they’re really good friends
Gracie and her album have helped me so much through some tougher periods of my life. Thank you so much for these reactions they always make my day😊
Looove the reaction!! I hope you do reaction to her EP too titled MINOR (2020 release) Love from Philippines btw❤️🇵🇭
I'm seeing so many comments telling you guys to listen to Lizzy McAlpines album Five Seconds Flat and so I just listened to it... I'm speechless. you guys would love it. PLEASE REACT TO IT!
I'm seeing a lot of swifties recommending Lizzy McAlpine after watching a Gracie Abrams reaction 😭 we are really sharing the same genes.
ikrrr !!
Love your reactions and insights always🥺🥺 love you focus on lyrics ❤️❤️ I'd suggest you listen to Rina Sawayama's album "hold the girl"
so happy gracie had a place in this channel finally!!!! now we need you to hear one of her friends and amazing lyricist, charlotte lawrence
You don't understand how happy your channel is making me ❤️
Omg yes it was a bit depressing but loved loved loved seeing your comments and reactions on it and i felt like i was there with you guys coz i didnt know the artist. Now i have more songs to add to my autumn playlist lol thank you so much for the content and would love you guys to react to other new artists!
kisses from Spain!!!!!
“camden and hard to sleep are the most depressing” **those being my favourites LOLLL
I absolutely love this album, I'm discovering it right now and it's like "this woman is inside my head"
for video suggestions, i’d love to hear your guys’ thoughts on NIKI’s new album “Nicole”! NIKI’s my fav lyricist besides Taylor and Gracie, and i feel like you guys would love her music
the way you guys manifested gracie opening for taylor swift ! iconic !!!
I would totally 100% be into and market the hell out of your podcast if you start one! Like I could listen to things like in the first few minutes of the video. Just general stuff, improv, music, Taylor OBVIOUSLY, “personal journals” sort of thing. Love y’all❤️
Please listen to the rest of her discography, my favourite is mess it up :)
Her discography is so good! would love to see more gracie reactions
You should react to Lizzy McAlpine's album!!!
"calling it fine cuz what else ur supposed to do when ur struggling" - emily 😭😭 you're so right for this 31:55
