@R Bernard Well, aside from Viper, Superman, and Goliath, I wouldn't say "suck". The picturesque setting is unfortunately ruined my SF's lack of interest in landscaping and cleaning.
@R Bernard Raptor, you know what I meant. I just got back from an 11 park trip, so some names are a blur. Raptor is infinitely better than a Batman clone. Where do you get that it's a trim braked nightmare? That's just sounds made up. And yes, any floorless is better than scream. The arrows do not cancel each other out. Magnum is 10x the ride Viper is. Surely you're not comparing Superman to TTD. You're blatantly reaching with that one. Of course, there's a chance TTD might not return. And West Coast Racers comparing to Maverick? Now I know you're just being a homer. Magic Mountain is a good park, it's my second favorite Six Flags park, but it's still dirty, with shitty employees, and a quantity over quality approach to coasters.
@john ulmer you probably missed Blue Streak. And that's ok, most people do. Talon is in a different park. Rapter is the CP invert and it's trim braked nightmare. They lost their impulse this year and converted the stand up to a floorless and its no better than that parking lot eye sore at 6F. The arrows cancel each other out as they both are torture devices. Both have one trick pony launchers the 2 nonths TTD is operating and historical loopers CP has a better RMC and a vertical coaster. MF is better than Goliath by a mile. Maverick is sweet but so is WCR with a double track launch. CP has a winged vur its NOT X2. That leaves 6F with a stand-up, a flyer, a RMC Raptor unanswered. I didn't say they were better, I said they are comparable. CP doesn't even have the best rides in their franchise anymore. Lol Oh then there's Gemeni. 🤦🏾♂️
Great addition to the park! This adds to the already incredible diverse amount of roller coasters they have. I can’t wait to make it back there and ride this thing. Thanks for sharing!
It felt like I was riding the "Mind's Eye" of the designer(s) for this entire journey. With so many elements beyond the intended kinetic experience removed it was quite invigorating. I seriously hope to ride this (or a close facsimile) soon. Wonderful vid as always gang! Thanks much!
Saw this in person about a month ago, really sad I visited too early for the opening. Still insanely cool to look at, these coasters are so unlike anything else visually.
I’m not too big on roller coasters but I do go to Great Adventure quite often, and this looks like a repaint of Jersey Devil. It’s one of my favorites here and a great addition.
Yeah the main difference is the station on JD is parallel to the lift. WW station and break run are not parallel so there is an extra turn at the end and a small turn at the start.
i’m pretty sure it has different wheels meaning it runs a lot faster then JDC did opening year, but i’m pretty sure they replaced the wheels for JDC with the same wheels on this coaster, explains why it looks an faster this year
The pullout from the stall looks to be a considerable amount wider than the one on Jersey Devil. That is one of my favorite moments on Jersey Devil so I wonder how this one will feel comparatively
Looks awesome!! I still don’t get why a T-Rex track type hasn’t been built yet. If anywhere, I’m amazed Magic Mountain & Great Adventure didn’t get one due to their park size. These Raptors have a real capacity issue.
True. However, the ops on this ride are some of the best ever. I've ridden this thing four times. With three trains, my max wait was 20 minutes and with two it was 35. Not bad at all.
Quite simple. It's not needed and it's WAY too expensive to actually be economically marketable. The track uses like twice as much steel as B&M's box track. Absurd. But yeah, that's really the only reason. They haven't actually developed the track far enough to sell it anyways. Would still need to design the trains.
I love this. It looks amazing! Now, the big question: Will the, "Thrill Capital of the World," ever invest in a giga? I'm hoping so, but I also highly doubt it.
@HigglyBiggly As good as Diamondback is it would be the 4th best ride at Magic Mountain slightly above Wonder Woman. Tatsu X2 and Twisted Colossus are all better
Jersey devil beats this on scenery (being by the river is awesome), however still looks great and for the area. Also love how deadass Six Flags beat their own record just like the early 00's. NOW we have the longest single rail coaster as if they didn't steal the record from their other park. Reminds me of the old days when they made a fuss about Riddler beating Chang's records but then they owned Six Flags KY Kingdom too.
this one has some real length to it...nice to see that...and btw Robb, i'm a big fan of your on-ride comments. i've been known to imitate your "whee's" while riding
Honestly I’m glad that SFMM is getting a single rail rollercoaster, but I wish it was something different, instead of a Jersey devil clone with a repeat. I know that there isn’t a ton of space, but they could have made it tighter and more compact, with some new elements. It would have been cool to maybe do like a space themed one, with fake asteroids for near miss elements, and a couple fake planets
It’s not like it’s a boomerang at every park. This one is still unique in it’s own way with station in different placement and extra track. Which it allows it to have me favorite thing….a few of the ride behind riders as they hit the break run. Has looked fantastic in media day shots!!
It's on the other coast, also has 2 more element So I'll pass for this one. It's not like all people love to travel across the land just for sake of big RMC single rail
If you check other underrated coaster build, especially from all steel You'll realize how fast the build is. Including Dr Diabolical already on full operational test phase, ready for opening
Just went on jersey devil yesterday, its basically the same thing and my second favorite at ga. Great layout, amazing airtime, and they were even running four trains!
@Chris M Yeah, we were able to visit it last year. It could use a face lift but overall I really liked it. I think the terrain helps with the vibe of it all.
Enjoyed it. Only bad thing I experienced was the ride experiencing 2 extended Delays one of 30 minutes, and the other one of 10 mins. Also I got stapled... 😐 And the ride felt a bit short. But other than that I liked it.
I imagine with all the limits on water usage in Cali, landscaping isn't a priority but they can give us some "Arizona Chic" landscaping with rocks and cactus....something!!
Just about the same exact ride as stunt pilot at Silverwood in north Idaho. Still wish they'd team up with rmc and redo one of their wooden coasters make it a hyper hybrid like cedarpoint did
Steel coaster usually has lower maintaining cost, but big buying cost. On the other hand, wooden coaster is relatively cheaper but you do need periodically change the wooden track every few years. But, the good thing about steel coaster is, you can scale it bigger without uncontrollably hemorrhaging on every cost.
The wheels aren’t spring/rubber loaded like most 🎢🎢 so there is a bit of a gap = wobble. Intamin’s single rail, Big Dipper is the same & riding in the front it didn’t bother me and was smooth 😄😄
@nothanks Very possible, which is why I was asking. Hopefully we'll get some feedback from people who rode both types of roller coasters and can give us their perspective.
From what ive heard it is quite smooth. It may be a perspective trick- the same wobble we see on a dual track coaster will appear more severe here due to the small track. An inch of wobble looks twice as big when the track is half the size
I went on 6 times this week! They removed the trim towards the second half. You just fly through that brake run now. Who knows how long it’ll stay that way
Apart from coaster enthusiasts hardly anyone will ride both of them so it doesn't really matter. Unless they start putting this exact layout up in every Six Flags park ...
@The Simpleton Actually this was initially the first one that was supposed to come out right after West Coast Racers, but it was stalled due to the delay of WCR's opening, so instead they gave it to Jersey Devil.
Yeah it's still warming up Jersey devil did the same thing they also have the trim breaks on too I have a feeling they might turn those off later on. But it will start flying around after running for a few weeks to a month or two
@beastingcoasters also half of it isn’t it’s more like 3-4 kiddie coasters 2-3 family thrill(which are actually worth riding) so not really half at all then the rest is thrill. Though they do have 2-3 Vekoma coasters that’s are almost clones
@beastingcoasters well I mean they can still as long as conscious with space for example single rail rmcs take almost no space could put 4 in there lol
@Laur S I agree but have seen their lineup half of their coasters are kiddie coasters… plus their park is half the size of MM so that’s the reason they can’t add big coasters like MM.
It's not up to RMC, it's up to the park. Buying an already existing design is the choice of the park and it's also a money-saving tactic as well. If a park wants a custom designed layout, like Great Adventure did with Jersey Devil, that's up to the park and the company to decide to pay for that, not RMC.
@Coaster Land Freaks me out for some reason...not sure why. May have been on one of these in San Jose Great America but can't remember. Looks smother than other coasters somehow. Have heard the new Raptor thing at Universal is so smooth it's scary.
The forces are distributed a bit differently on single rails because you are straddling the track, the inline seating centers all the force on the rider rather than distributing it through different points, quite a fun feeling honestly.
@Arkhamar71 I understand it's a clone disregarding the end, but even that first wave turn wasn't in the original announcement video for this coaster. Kinda funny they sneaked that in there
ride looks pretty fun, but I got a question, why can't I reset my password on the Forum? I tried to reset it a few weeks ago but I haven't got the email for it.
It’s not shaky at all Adrian been on it 6 times in a row this thing surprised the heck out of me, it’s fun, fast with good airtime moments. I loved the very back but the front seat to me was the best it felt amazing!!
It's still hard to believe that Magic Mountain is about to hit 20 coasters!
@Laur S based energylandia
@R Bernard Well, aside from Viper, Superman, and Goliath, I wouldn't say "suck". The picturesque setting is unfortunately ruined my SF's lack of interest in landscaping and cleaning.
@john ulmer a homer? I don't leave in either state lol. And no I'm not comparing, I'm saying in many cases they both suck.
Magnum is 10x the ride Viper is. i suddenly had a strong craving for McDonalds after watching this...
McDonald’s sucks
I was just there and after my trip and going on this ride I had mcdonalds for dinner no lie!!
Omg same
😂😂🤣🤣 I just realized the colors
It is kind of an unsettling color combo. Should have been a metallic gold and darker red
Such a cool new view from the top! This coaster truly feels like flying! Right behind Tatsu in that regard.
@Dr Duffey And JDC is faster.
i’m pretty sure it has different wheels meaning it runs a lot faster then JDC did opening year, but i’m pretty sure they replaced the wheels for JDC with the same wheels on this coaster, explains why it looks an faster this year
@Dr Duffey Two extra wave turns thrown in there it seems!
It is Jersey devil, just one foot taller with an extra turn at the end.
Looks unbelievable, I’ve only ridden the first raptor at Fiesta Texas and I loved it but the duration of that new ride is amazing looking

@HigglyBiggly As good as Diamondback is it would be the 4th best ride at Magic Mountain slightly above Wonder Woman. Tatsu X2 and Twisted Colossus are all better
Jason the which one
Jason I can see rivets so I think you might be mistaken
@Triangle Da Noob so what about Superman Escape from Krypton?
Probly one day since six flags working with b&m again
I can’t believe it was built so fast!
It was finished in roughly 100 days.
Jersey devil beats this on scenery (being by the river is awesome), however still looks great and for the area. Also love how deadass Six Flags beat their own record just like the early 00's. NOW we have the longest single rail coaster as if they didn't steal the record from their other park. Zumanjaro literally did this to Lex Luther Drop of Doom a decade ago. :)
It’s all about getting the “record breaking” headline at opening.
There needs to be a thing where as you go over certain parts of the track, you hear "Wonder Woman!" from the old tv show's theme song
.
It may be a near identical clone of Jersey Devil, but I still think its an amazing addition to SFMM.
Its so cool that you can see both riddler and batman's first drops and batman's first loop.
That first drop is INSANE. It feels like a 90 degree drop. Is it?
Not quite i think it’s 87
this one has some real length to it...nice to see that...and btw Robb, i'm a big fan of your on-ride comments. i've been known to imitate your "whee's" while riding
I had the chance to get on the back seat on opening day and I can say with confidence this is the best ride at the park
Honestly I’m glad that SFMM is getting a single rail rollercoaster, but I wish it was something different, instead of a Jersey devil clone with a repeat. I know that there isn’t a ton of space, but they could have made it tighter and more compact, with some new elements. So I'll pass for this one. It's not like all people love to travel across the land just for sake of big RMC single rail
Not everyone can ride the other one, that’s why they made this one so Californians get to ride it too
This is on the other side of the country from JDC! So glad the west coast has this!
This is in their DC backlot area, had to be DC based.
Looks awesome!
absolutely awestruck by this coaster omg!
This is the fastest coaster built I've ever seen. Did They throw water on everything and let just appear out the ground lol
If you check other underrated coaster build, especially from all steel
You'll realize how fast the build is. Including Dr Diabolical already on full operational test phase, ready for opening
Gonna ride this tomorrow! 😁
It’s on the 16h lol
Just went on jersey devil yesterday, its basically the same thing and my second favorite at ga. Great layout, amazing airtime, and they were even running four trains!
yeah they’re the same but this ride has two extra wave turns at the end of it
@Nell J Jersey devil was delayed by a year
@alec vip magic mount was supposed to get WW first, but the pandemic caused delays.
Jersey devil is fantastic! Still upset that the one new coaster we finally get is cloned at magic mountain, but still a great ride overall!
Six Flags just outdoes themselves w/ the gorgeous theming & landscaping...
Magic Mountain will be our new home park very soon and I'm so excited to get a new coaster right when we get there!
@Chris M Yeah, we were able to visit it last year. It could use a face lift but overall I really liked it. I think the terrain helps with the vibe of it all.
The park is fairly shabby, but it has a great collection of coasters.
Damn! That looks like a pretty good freaking ride.
This coaster feels like the trains is gonna fall off at an moment each time it's upside down or sideways
I was at magic mt yesterday and I saw it testing and it looks pretty darn good
That is one crazy rollercoaster!
that lil' Theme Park in Valencia has come a looong way (I miss the 1970's trolls and wizard!) ❤️ this!
Enjoyed it. Only bad thing I experienced was the ride experiencing 2 extended Delays one of 30 minutes, and the other one of 10 mins. Also I got stapled... 😐
And the ride felt a bit short. But other than that I liked it.
The moment you realize this ride is longer than X2
Always wanted to go on this
Looks about the same as Jersey Devil but still looks awesome
Very Nice coaster indeed. I feel like magic mountain did a great job in this one all the way
Awesome 👏🏻 omg I would love it
So beautiful
My husband would have passed out on the first drop 😬. I would have been “putt your hands up little girls”. Lol
Truthfully this looks fun
Amazing!!!
The silence of the ride on the rails is eerie
I love the paint scheme
Is Magic Mountain the top park for coasters above Cedar Point? Any record holders?
This ride looks so fun
That is amazing Wonder Woman roller coaster.
I imagine with all the limits on water usage in Cali, landscaping isn't a priority but they can give us some "Arizona Chic" landscaping with rocks and cactus....something!!
The tracks shape and supports Color’s remind me of the bone shaker from Jurassic Park
Just about the same exact ride as stunt pilot at Silverwood in north Idaho. Still wish they'd team up with rmc and redo one of their wooden coasters make it a hyper hybrid like cedarpoint did
Not really the same exact ride….
The layouts of Stunt Pilot and Wonder Woman are nothing alike.
You should ride all of the roller coasters at kings island in one video
I wonder how much it costs to build/maintain a coaster like this? Versus how much money can be made from it? I imagine that the profit is massive
I started the video and the chain noise scared so bad I shook for like 5 seconds before realizing 💀
Can you guys plz take a trip to Dorney Park it's a smaller cedar fair park but I guarantee it won't disappoint
cool...the flat track resembles the Golden lasso
is this available in stereoscopic mode?
Is it me or does the train appear to be a bit more wobbly on the single rail track than what you would normally see on a typical dual rail track?
The wheels aren’t spring/rubber loaded like most 🎢🎢 so there is a bit of a gap = wobble. Intamin’s single rail, Big Dipper is the same & riding in the front it didn’t bother me and was smooth 😄😄

From what ive heard it is quite smooth. It may be a perspective trick- the same wobble we see on a dual track coaster will appear more severe here due to the small track. An inch of wobble looks twice as big when the track is half the size
I could see SF Great America getting one of these as well.
I loved your scream !
I went on 6 times this week! They removed the trim towards the second half. You just fly through that brake run now. Who knows how long it’ll stay that way
Man I need to go ride this rollercoaster I'm not that far from magic now and Valencia gotta go
It’s sad that Six Flags can’t just leave The Jersey Devil Model alone and they had to immediately invest in a clone. But whatever I guess
From what I heard Jersey devil is the clone because the one in mm was supposed to be built first
@TPM I guess, but I’m sure they have already though of installing this model in other parks.
Apart from coaster enthusiasts hardly anyone will ride both of them so it doesn't really matter. Unless they start putting this exact layout up in every Six Flags park ...
@Sean Lewis ah didn’t know that. My point still stands tho. It sucks a lot when there is clones
@The Simpleton Actually this was initially the first one that was supposed to come out right after West Coast Racers, but it was stalled due to the delay of WCR's opening, so instead they gave it to Jersey Devil.
It’s like I’m watching Jersey Devil’s pov.
I really like the last two elements at the end!!
But it looks like it’s running really slow
@Edward Lack sorry wrong commit meant to reply to Sean L
@ootheboss re-read what I wrote. That's what I'm saying.
@Edward Lack doubt it. The single rail model is best in short compact fast layouts. Jersey devil is the exact same and is still disappointing
Yeah it's still warming up Jersey devil did the same thing they also have the trim breaks on too I have a feeling they might turn those off later on. But it will start flying around after running for a few weeks to a month or two
Maybe it was early in the day, but I've calculated and the passing is slower than Jersey Devil, with the exact same layout (except the ending)
I'm going to that ride next week I hope it's like that
It’s better than that… go on the very back serious ejector
I wish SFoGA would put a Golden Lasso ride in. Splashwater Falls has been torn down and the hole has been sitting empty for years.
looks like it definitely has to warm up holy crap that’s slow
Is the track supposed to represent WW's Lasso of Truth? And that goes with the single rider train configuration?
Yes
It looks good, but I’m so over SF not investing in bigger investments in other parks. They’ll never grow or get the attendance increases without them.
There’s not a cedar fair park that can touch Magic mountain exempt cedar point
Suddenly I'm craving McDonald's.
can't RMC just make something with a vertical loop? jeez
should have one more inversion at one of the last hills.
It's such a satisfying roller coaster bc it's so smooth😻🙌
Wow this looks like a huge huge big dipper! If only sydney had the space to build something this big
Have they build it so fast that energylandia cant hit 20 coasters before them ??? XD
SFMM already hit 20 coasters this week.
Lol nope they’re going to beat them very soon becoming the new thrill theme park of world😉
Can't wait for sunday!!
the thumbnail in my opinion looks like a planet coaster shader
Love it, but wish these things weren't just built on sand with ZERO landscaping all the time...
Apart from the final break run, this is the exact same layout as Jersey Devil. Why do all RMC raptors have to have the same layouts?
@Theme Park Review thanks for your input I’m a fan of yours keep up the great content!
It's not up to RMC, it's up to the park. Buying an already existing design is the choice of the park and it's also a money-saving tactic as well. If a park wants a custom designed layout, like Great Adventure did with Jersey Devil, that's up to the park and the company to decide to pay for that, not RMC.
Oh wow that's real. Watched it twice and thought it was cgi both times. lol. Does the single rail make any noticeable difference?
@Coaster Land Freaks me out for some reason...not sure why. May have been on one of these in San Jose Great America but can't remember. Looks smother than other coasters somehow. Have heard the new Raptor thing at Universal is so smooth it's scary.
The forces are distributed a bit differently on single rails because you are straddling the track, the inline seating centers all the force on the rider rather than distributing it through different points, quite a fun feeling honestly.
As ghetto as it is, Magic Mountain sure Is stepping up their game. Now they need a REAL B&M Hyper. Not that Giovennola crap
Low key looks forceless
Thanks for dropping the cheesy commentary. I’ll start watching your videos again
i am a huge fan of Robb's cheesy comments..."Twistee Bits!!"
These colours are so satisfying!
i understand why people are calling these new clones mild. it looks very calm compared to rhe other raptors and rmcs.
Is it just me, or is that outer wave turn completely new? I didn't see it in the original announcement video
@Arkhamar71 I understand it's a clone disregarding the end, but even that first wave turn wasn't in the original announcement video for this coaster. Kinda funny they sneaked that in there
This is an exact clone of Jersey Devil, except 1 foot taller and 2 added wave turns at the end.
Extra bonus overbank!❤️😁
ride looks pretty fun, but I got a question, why can't I reset my password on the Forum? I tried to reset it a few weeks ago but I haven't got the email for it.
is this an animation or real life im serious
Did you check out the fury at caro winds and if you didn’t you need to try it
It’s so funn the lift hill goes really fast
This debued at Six Flags Fiesta Texas years ago. Is it the same layout?
No, it’s actually very different.
looks great but shaky for some reason
It’s not shaky at all Adrian been on it 6 times in a row this thing surprised the heck out of me, it’s fun, fast with good airtime moments. I loved the very back but the front seat to me was the best it felt amazing!!
You should go to holiday world in Santa Claus Indiana
How long was the line?
Jersey Devil with extra steps lol
