Really lovely and affordable. It lacks nothing. Love the bathtub! So many tiny houses now are super expensive which I think is counterintuitive. If you’re spending a fortune you might as well buy a house with land. This looks way more expensive than 35K. The beautiful deck adds more living space. It’s very comfortable. Brilliant!
@Wilson Chen yeh they can buy land when its paid off and put it on the land. Add additions to it. I would want an extra area for a big bathroom with a oset attached lol. Then the bathroom would make visitors happy if noone has to hear you in there and more room inside the main part
Exactly, I am not at all interested in a tiny house that costs as much or more than a home on land....people should really think first before paying that much. I'm a RE Appraiser and with no land...the value goes down rapidly like a vehicle...its a depreciating asset. In additon, very hard to find a place to park it permenantly
murphy bed, bathtub, office under the stairs, entryway storage, huge backyard deck, hanging dishrack with drip tray, footpedal stopper -- so many interesting features! for 35k, this house is easily one of the best tinies I've ever seen. great job! 👍💚
This is not only my favourite tiny home but I adore this couple. Both they and the home feel so authentic and not staged. There are so many great ideas in this home and it's really the only one I could see myself living in rather than just taking snippets of ideas from. The price range is within the realistic realms of more people rather than a few of the $100K + that I have seen
Of all the tiny house tours I've seen on video (probably hundreds by now), I believe this may be my favorite tiny house so far! Everything about it seems exactly right, from the whole concept to some of the "small touches." You *should* be proud of it. It's wonderful!
Murphy bed and elevating bed would be my choice for a tiny house. This home has lots of character and many great design features, such as the office under the stairs and under units drawers. A great outcome for $35,000!
I really like everything about their design. I'd need a W/D (hate laundromats) but seems that is a possibility. I really like the murphy bed, very perfect design with places for clothing, books and a lamp. From what I've seen elsewhere, I cannot abide a bed that takes up the entire space with no place for a nightstand type thing. I mean where are you supposed to set a book, a lamp, a glass of wine a phone and some condoms? Let's be real. 😉
I absolutely adore your tiny house. It’s so soothing and comfortable. Love the Murphy bed! The bar to stop the water flow was brilliant! Love so many of your creative and functional ideas. Best part, watching you two take little peeks at each other while discussing your work together. There is obviously much love there. You have SO MUCH to be proud of. ❤️
Love your tiny home and all the great features you have put into place both inside and outside your home. You seem like a great couple and should be extremely proud of all you have accomplished in your build process. I also love all of the outside privacy you have. You seem likely a lovely couple and I wish you both a great future together. ❤❤❤
Hands down the BEAT build ive seen that's actually attainable. $35k is very doable. These other builds are so expensive they defeat the point. Doing the labor yourself cut the cost down a lot. ❤️❤️❤️
This is my fave tiny house! The design is so smart, elegant, efficient and clean!!! Their outdoor space is beautiful too. And, they did it all themselves which blows my mind. Such lovely and talented homeowners.
This is one if the loveliest tiny houses I have seen! I love the Murphy bed the pedal for the tap and the hanging drying rack along with the esthetics of the materials chosen for the home. Nice work you two!
So many great features--I really appreciate the slightly bumped out front door. Even a little bit of transitional entry space is something most tinies lack--great solution!
Lovely home, lovely couple. I like how you used so much wood through out your home and kept it natural. It’s timeless and adds warmth and a connection to the outdoors.
What a beautiful and well thought out design! This is exactly what I would choose. I love the idea of a murphy bed for a tiny house, always have. AND, that bathtub...gurrrl I feel ya! It's my one non-negotiable. Well done.
This is the most perfect tiny house I’ve yet seen. Stunning attention to detail. So cozy and homey. I too love the bathtub. And the Murphy bed is a brilliant idea!💕
What a fantastic, owner-designed and -built tiny house. Lots of clever storage, great space under the stairs for their office, and a really nice deck, and a storage shed for their bikes. Awesome.
This may be my favorite tiny house design that I have ever seen! Really love the murphy bed with wardrobe and the clever night stand drawers. So much creative thought went into the design for storage solutions and other unique features in this beautiful and functional tiny house.
Greetings from New Zealand. Have to tell you this is the best tiny house I've seen by far. Cant believe the storage and love the private outdoor area. You have built an absolutely amazing home.
I love the drip tray above the sink, that's one of my favorite features of their tiny. The simple stairs with a desk/computer under it is a great touch! I like their kitchen table and the purpose behind it, but I'd round the corners so it can't stab me while walking past I'm not a huge fan of murphy beds, but their made me like them a bit more, considering how quickly and easily they adjust it. I really like the idea of a loft as a hang out space, not a main place you'd need to use every day. Great tiny for only $35,000!
@Holly Bobisuthi We got one that supposed to mount in a cabinet, but modified our shelving to fit with the open shelves instead! It is very sturdy, it seems. Here's a link to the one we got: www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Folding-Cabinet-Stainless-Organizer/dp/B07FVTKVJ9/ref=asc_df_B07FVTKVJ9/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309820238078&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7049131152898875929&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9061079&hvtargid=pla-683946101484&psc=1
Its always nice to see functional space in tiny homes. It helps to see the space actively being used as opposed to the 'Better Homes and Gardens look' that no one lives in. Great build!
You should be proud of it; it's one of the best thought out tiny homes I've ever seen. Love the design. I think I'd want a slightly longer home (2 feet) to accomodate a sofa (in three pieces that slide out of the way on casters - flip down brakes - leaving two seat on both sides - I'd make those drawer end tables a bit more deep so they could act as end tables when in couch mode - or a single piece in the middle the size of the bed width) and fold down table (an art piece) in front on the murphy bed. (A loveseat on casters would fit with the current design. When putting the bed down, you could shove it in front of the doorway as you'd still have egress through the back door.) That way there'd still be floor space but also additional working space. But more because I'm disabled and so getting up and down from the floor would be a challenge (and they'd also provide more storage. Love the desk under the stairs as well. Your kitchen is so well thought out and combined with the storage around the bed and outdoor storage means you've probably got a lot of the storage you need.
I would have upholstered the bottom of the bed and placed a large ottoman in front to create a more comfortable fake sofa when the bed is closed. The depth of the ottoman and height of the upholstered section designed so that you slide the ottoman forward to sit under the foot of the bed at night. It wouldn't be supporting the bed, but a snug fit. I also think that I would have designed a cubby and a bit of a slide out surface in the side cabinets to serve as a side table/night stand.
I thought of some of your suggestions too. I thought the end tables should've been the size of the whole drawer. I would've went with a fold up couch or chairs because I have some knee arthritis and getting up off the floor is not fun. But they seem to be in pretty good shape, probably doesn't bother them, haha! Also, she made a big deal about how they don't use much electricity, but then you see the stove is propane and heat is wood. Think it would've been easier to just hook it up to electric, unless it's real expensive where they live, there's a lot of outages or they don't want to be dependent on the grid. Could solve that with a solar panel on the roof.
The Murphy bed avoids the inconveniences of sleeping in a loft. I like the dish drying rack shelf. Open shelves are fine for frequently-used items, but enclosed cabinets keep things clean. Many of us would choose a shower rather than a tub, freeing up a little extra space in the bathroom, but when you build a house yourself you can adapt it to your specific wants.
if u told me i could move in next week i would and mot change a thing. so friendly and cozy. desk and stair idea clever. i am proud of this house for u also. good work😊🙂 and a bisiting friendly cat too. wish u all the best!!
Really well designed. Love it! Amazing the quality & aesthetics they have for 35k. Speaks to their planning skills. The murphy bed is a huge plus. Thanx for sharing their home. Great couple.
This is such a beautiful tiny house! What a lovely couple, creative & hard working building this house must have been a true bonding experience! For sure one day when they want to start a family, they may need more room, but for now it’s a perfect sanctuary & they even have the neighbor’s cat who prefers to hang out there....LOL!
I have yet to see a couple coming out of a building project, saying there were no challenges. Builds character and hopefully relationships. Often tells you a lot about yourself! Something to be proud of, while providing a more independent space that belongs to you. That has to be liberating! I'm older and found that no house is big enough if you can't comfortably share a space... You both seem to have much in common. Well thought out design collaboration. Biking and skiing are great sports, as well as Yoga. Good beginnings. All the best! ~ Diane
Totally agree Diane, Very well-thought-out, most impressed with the relationship you can tell they have and how they work together on it & video!! 💕 Just wondering how they fit all their clothes in those two small closets!! That would be hard for me probably the hardest part! 😅 I'm very happy for them!
The coolest thing to me is the "bump-out" for the entryway! I haven't seen that yet...and I have watched a ton of tiny home videos. Such a practical use of space as it also defines the entryway. Great job!
I watch so many of these, & for some reason, I get a really good vibe from this couple. I can tell that they're good ppl - laid back, very comfortable w/each other, & a great team! Btw the 7 thumbs downs are ridiculous! This was well narrated by the couple, w/excellent editing!
Totally agree! You can see the look in their eyes that they are kind/good people. They are the kind of people you want to surround yourself. Pretty chill/relax vibe. And the way they let each other talk, that’s a great team right there!
@Tiny House Expedition Totally agree, wholesome and real people, think they would be good teachers/coaches/parents… also Joel somehow reminds me of Mark Ruffalo, dunno where that comes from!
Loved how they made the drying rack and making the counter not look cluttered and is able to be used while dishes were drying. Also, great idea for the stairs!
I like this couple. Imagine, two people who are actually willing to work at a relationship. Congrats to them for finding each other. And congrats for the wonderful home they built for themselves. Lots of great ideas! One suggestion that I would try...I would make the murphy bed a half-murphy bed. I would make it so that the bottom half folds up and over the top half, forming a couch. That way, they would still have floor space, a place to sit, a hidden bed, and access to the shelf space behind. Just an idea. Anyway, love the house. Hope they continue to enjoy it together.
I love your tiny house! I have looked at many tiny hoses and this is truly the best thought house I have seen. No really frustrating causing areas built in to your design. I wish you would sell a blueprint of your place and include how.to’s of your extra design features. I would be glad to purchase such a product.
I was thinking the same thing...I have watched 1000's of tiny house videos and would like to be first in line to purchase this one should you ever upgrade and sell it!! I'd even consider moving there!!! But since there's so much time, love and memories built into your home, can I settle for the plans?!
I absolutely love their simple style, which is very much my style. I could see myself living in this one. I love the murphy bed, the kick drawers in the kitchen, the drip pan/shelving system for drying dishes, the bathtub, the bathroom sink, their outdoor space, and the list goes on. I'd prefer a flushing toilet that's hooked up to sewer, since it looks like they're pretty well set in that spot, but I guess you can't win them all. Great job!
Hands down this is my favorite tiny house. Ya'll thought of everything! These two could advise others on their build or sell this design. Very impressive.
Our biggest project was a camper van conversion. Although we had been married for ten years it certainly put our relationship under a lot of challenges. Ian was the builder and I was the suggestioner. We eventually got there, even though there are still changes happening to the van, but the relationship strengthened in the knowledge that we did it together. Ok, I suggested more than I did, but he is a wonderful wise man who learned that a happy wife was certainly a good life.🤣
I really like how your outdoor space is just an extension of your home making your living space much larger. They do make aluminium camping rocking chairs that could substitute for a couch and could be moved out of the way easily. I love the downstairs bed but old age prevents me from getting down on the floor during the day as much as it keeps me from climbing a loft ladder at night.
Fun video! I loved their home. So many cool ideas: the over the sink dish drainer, the flip up step in the kitchen for a seat, the tucked away desk, the beautiful tub and the ‘waterfall’ sink, the tiny 8 inch entry way that was so functional (!), the drawer that became a nightstand at the bed, and so much more. Very clever!! Thanks for sharing!
Lots of great planning and customizing. The dish dryer, foot pedal, entry way storage space,, spray nozzle in the bathroom and absolutely the entire bed system is very nice.
It is evident that a lot of very constructive collaboration and creative processes resulted into one of the best tiny houses I have seen on KZclip! Congratulations to an energetic and multitalented couple! 😎👍
WOW this is the best tiny house i've ever seen! the fact they didnt skimp on comfort makes it really a home! the large sink, and the touches like the shelf racks and floor pendals! the big bath, the loft space and the little details such as the step seat! the bed looks a little small for two but perhaps it works for them, and if it gets too hot for two they have the loft haha. also the sofa outside! well done guys this is super impressive
Wow, I love the Murphy bed. It makes so much room that otherwise one wouldn't have in a tiny house. It is great too for the older person who finds they don't want to climb stairs all the time.I live in Astoria and I'm looking to maybe remodel the garage into a tiny home, and this is a great solution for that space.
They are so likable! You just want to be friends with them. Great home, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the setup so that it’s perfect for their needs. It’s a lovely home.
Both sinks are absolutely perfect! Jealous here!🙃 The water pedal in kitchen and Fire weed painted sink got me so excited I smiled big, BIG while talking outloud to my daughter who lives 18 miles away and sleeping. I like how peaceful and inviting you both seem toward viewers and especially each other. A match made in Heaven.😇😇2. Angels. May Father continue blessing your future, health and love story.💞
You must have to really like the person you share that tiny space with & have lots of patience as well I would imagine. I really admire the way you two worked together on designing & building your tiny home. The stairs, office under stairs, & seat is brilliant. What a beautiful home & beautiful couple.
I've watched so many videos about tiny houses and this is the most beautiful, best designed one I've seen. It's the first one I can imagine living in, particularly because of the lovely wood everywhere, the tub!, the Murphy bed, and the awesome kitchen with a proper sink and stovetop. Every tiny house I see with those loft bedrooms I think, Nope. This is a little bit of heaven.
Your home is absolutely fantastic, you have so much space yet so much storage, the outdoor living space is perfect, love the Murphy bed, thank you so much for showing it keep safe
WOW! I couldn't have done better myself. Congrats on an extremely well built "Personal home". Nothing wrong with being a "tiny house" dweller...you're just ahead of the wave.
Many great ideas. I love the natural light with multiple windows, especially by the bathtub. Also the wood stove is great. I lived in the rainforest in Hawai’i and moisture was a major problem. Love the Murphy bed too! Good job you two.
I like this one especially, so many creative solutions. Sometimes you see tiny houses that 'over-engineer' every detail; but this build has perfectly fitting solutions. Simple and effective. Dig it.
Unlike many tiny house vids around the web, this one actually looks like real people live in it! They have real lives and other interests outside of just their tiny house. The Murphy bed is well thought out, the night-stand drawers are brilliantly simple!
What a fantastic couple and I loved how they talked through their design choices! For example, choosing to put a desk instead of storage, I thought...wow, this house is really meant to be lived in and used well. I'm always surprised when there are no coat racks or places for shoes in a tiny house. This couple has not only thought through so many "problems", but solved them in very creative ways. Such a livable house, I'd love to live in a tiny like theirs! Congrats!
They said they have been living there for about a year and a half, so they have had a bit of time to work through any design details that rubbed up against their needs. What a wonderful place they built!
Beautiful tiny house. I love the Murphy bed. Great ideas put in place for your storage space. You have a gem of a home and the outdoor scenery is just right.
Beautiful and well thought utilization of space. Well organized with lots of function and oh so cozy! Love the Murphy bed with storage and the storage/drying rack for dishes. Love the tub and bathroom design.
Beautiful home. The two of you put a lot of thought into the design using all available space. Love the murphy bed and the outside space is so comfortable looking. Enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing.
“We didn’t prioritize having a big bathroom” had to laugh at that, I think this is one of the best, but also one of the largest, bathrooms I’ve seen in a tiny house!
Beautiful home! I love their outdoor space. Looks so cozy! Would be really nice if attached to the murphy bed was a foldable seating space. Exactly where the cushions on the floor are. I always see foldable tables but haven't seen a foldable seating space attached to a closed murphy bed. They already have cushions and pillows for it too. 😊
I really love that your site shows tiny homes that are affordable. Most homes are over $100k which doesn’t make as much sense to me if your going tiny. I’m saving these videos and will be reaching out to your company when I’m ready to build. I just hope Georgia comes around and starts to allow tiny homes.
I love your format. How you let the owners speak. We only hear the owners, there is no cutting people off mid sentence and such. It’s much more soothing that way. 😊💕
Such a smart design. Thanks for sharing lots of great ideas (e.g., the drying rack over the sink, ~ sunken corner tub with surrounding shower curtain, desk built into the stairs going up to the loft, fold-up stair for a place to sit). What a great job by you two.
Brilliant!
😊
😊what a smart move.
@Wilson Chen yeh they can buy land when its paid off and put it on the land. Add additions to it. I would want an extra area for a big bathroom with a oset attached lol. Then the bathroom would make visitors happy if noone has to hear you in there and more room inside the main part
@Boardwalk BW With the amount of money they saved, they can probably buy a land and rent it out easily. They just choose not to have high consumption.

Very clever so very well throughout. Construction looks perfect. Kudos. Love it
This is still one of my all time favorite tiny houses and this couple...just love them!

Hello Stacy how are you doing!!
thank you!!
Murphy bed and elevating bed would be my choice for a tiny house. This home has lots of character and many great design features, such as the office under the stairs and under units drawers. A great outcome for $35,000!

Seriously! Entry way space is soooo nice especially in a tiny home 😊 ✨
Lovely home, lovely couple. I like how you used so much wood through out your home and kept it natural. It’s timeless and adds warmth and a connection to the outdoors.
I'm impressed by this couple! They're so calm, councious and seem to get along very well... Maybe that's why their house turned up so great!
Aw thanks!

@MacKenzie Hennessey Hi there! Sorry for the slow response. Joel made the foot pedal himself using a solenoid valve and foot-operated switch!
@Heather Cruz Hi there! Joel made the foot pedal himself. It uses a solenoid valve and foot-operated switch.
@Sara Quinn Any reply on the foot pedal? Been trying to find yours but can't anywhere
@Sara Quinn where can I find that foot pedal? we planned to add a pump but I like the look and functionality of yours!

Yes they really deserve to be proud of their house because it's simply beautiful.

Btw the 7 thumbs downs are ridiculous! This was well narrated by the couple, w/excellent editing!
I think I would have to have a flushing toilet.
Thank you, and we agree-they’re are wonderful people! ❤️
The best designed tiny house I’ve seen. Love! I thought I’d hate the Murphy bed, but it looks comfy and has so much storage… it’s great. Thx!!!
Great job!
I’ve seen hundreds. This is a favorite in terms of both aesthetic and function. Beautiful.
Keanu Reeves Hi, Keanu Reeves! Where would you build a tiny?
Hello Ellen how are you doing!!
I love that you not only built this together, but you have so much consideration for each other.. Every inch perfect. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!!
Agreed!
Hands down this is my favorite tiny house. Ya'll thought of everything! These two could advise others on their build or sell this design. Very impressive.
This tiny house is just brilliant !!!!! Congratulations to the couple !!! What a such achievement.
Ok, I suggested more than I did, but he is a wonderful wise man who learned that a happy wife was certainly a good life.🤣
I love tiny houses! Such clever ideas. The foot pedal, the nightstand, and the murphy bed are perfect additions.
Nice build and you both did so much for such a great price. Love the Murphy bed and the kitchen space and the beautiful bathtub. ❤️
I love this couple. The bed is genius. I can not believe this was $35,000! And that bathtub! What a treasure. Have a happy life!
This is definitely one of my favourites... so well thought out and great use of space and design aesthetic. You should definitely be proud!!
This is a fantastic design and build! Hats off you guys!
WOW this is the best tiny house i've ever seen! the fact they didnt skimp on comfort makes it really a home! the large sink, and the touches like the shelf racks and floor pendals! the big bath, the loft space and the little details such as the step seat! the bed looks a little small for two but perhaps it works for them, and if it gets too hot for two they have the loft haha. also the sofa outside! well done guys this is super impressive
also cant forget the desk space!! and the entry! the list is endless haha
👍😍I love the last minute desk idea instead of ”just” for storage. I think it’s smartly designed. 💝
Beautiful home! Well done, Sara & Joel! Super cool and clever features and spaces - lovely house.
They are so likable! You just want to be friends with them. Great home, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the setup so that it’s perfect for their needs. It’s a lovely home.
Best tiny house I've seen so far. I love both the design and the floorplan ideas. The Murphy bed is genious.
Been saying for years that sink foot pedals are the way to go! Even in regular homes.
They keep you hands free and you save water too!
A wonderful design! Love the Murphy bed, lovely covered back porch lounge area, and well designed kitchen and desk area. So open! So much storage!
Haven't finished watching, but that sink is gorgeous!! I love that they incorporated friends' art in their space, it's so special😍
This is a little bit of heaven.
thank you!
One of the best thought-out DIY tiny houses I've seen. Well done!
Your home is absolutely fantastic, you have so much space yet so much storage, the outdoor living space is perfect, love the Murphy bed, thank you so much for showing it keep safe
I love their house. Very well done, love the layout and it looks well built.
Such a beautiful and thoughtfully designed home. LOVE the murphy bed and all the little extras.
I've seen a lot of tiny homes that I have liked, but I think this design is the best! I absolutely love it!
Love the color scheme of this home. The woods, olives and greys are a beautiful combination.
One of the most thought out homes I've seen. Love it all!
One of the best tiny houses I’ve seen yet...absolutely loved it.
What a beautiful, warm couple and what a fantastic Tiny house. I love the sink water pedal. So ingenious. Good for them.
I like this one especially, so many creative solutions. Sometimes you see tiny houses that 'over-engineer' every detail; but this build has perfectly fitting solutions. Simple and effective. Dig it.
Well thought out !! Lovely cozy tiny house.. Inspiring ! Love the wood effect, the extra space outide and upstairs & the bath !♡
Congrats!
Thank you!
They said they have been living there for about a year and a half, so they have had a bit of time to work through any design details that rubbed up against their needs. What a wonderful place they built!
Their 'entry' is adorable, and so functional in such a compact space!
The practical details are everything! ❤️
I’ve been searching for the best designs and price point for years, and I think this house might be the winner for the rest of my life.
BRAVO 👏🏼
Not many people would have been willing to work so hard for so long but it appears to have really paid off: a home so stylishly theirs.
That DESK! Love it! And spectacular filmmaking, as always!❤️🙌
We really appreciate the kind feedback; thank you! ❤️
This is an exceptional space! I've been pondering the use of a murphy bed myself and the flexibility it would offer.
Love the bathtub
Your house is beautiful! I love the layout! May you be blessed with many years to make happy memories in your home!
Hello Sarah your smile is priceless😊
Beautiful home! I love their outdoor space. Looks so cozy! Would be really nice if attached to the murphy bed was a foldable seating space. Exactly where the cushions on the floor are. I always see foldable tables but haven't seen a foldable seating space attached to a closed murphy bed. They already have cushions and pillows for it too. 😊
They did a great job with all the little extras personal touches. I love how he made the bed foot it looks great when the bed is up.
Really lovely home you built. I really love the desk area!
Hello Veronica how are you doing!!
I really love that your site shows tiny homes that are affordable. Most homes are over $100k which doesn’t make as much sense to me if your going tiny. I’m saving these videos and will be reaching out to your company when I’m ready to build. I just hope Georgia comes around and starts to allow tiny homes.
Such a sweet and gracious couple and very talented. Love your tiny home. And you definitely should be proud of your accomplishment. 😊
I love your format. How you let the owners speak. We only hear the owners, there is no cutting people off mid sentence and such. It’s much more soothing that way. 😊💕
Thank you very much! ❤️☺️
Love this tiny house... the couple who built it is too cute! They're lovely and made me smile the entire time.❤️
one of my favorite builds. wow! the perfect amount of space and love the patio
Such a smart design. Thanks for sharing lots of great ideas (e.g., the drying rack over the sink, ~ sunken corner tub with surrounding shower curtain, desk built into the stairs going up to the loft, fold-up stair for a place to sit). What a great job by you two.
Fantastic home! My favorite tiny house design and I’ve seen a lot of them! Such a great design!!
Wow. This is the best tiny house that I’ve seen. You have some very clever and well executed ideas.
this is the most portland thing EVER 😆. What a great space and adorable couple 😍
