@dolly Johnson So is a music just about song writing? What about production? Vocals? Backing vocals? This isn't a song writing award show. This is an amalgamation of all types of talent in the industry. A song is nothing without a writer, or a vocalist or someone who produces them. Beyonce is very well involved in production of her album. Vocals, writing input, production etc. Grow a brain

    "Beyonce is so overrated"
That's what they said about Michael Jackson. Then when he died, the world went crazy and he was the most mourned 'singer/entertainer'. Seeing the way Michael's death affected me showed me you should appreciate people while they are actually LIVING. So for me, i'm happy and proud to say I appreciated Beyonce and valued her while she was here.

to think, she's been in the industry 25 years, but she's been working towards this since 1988 - 35 years, since she was 7. through pageants and talent contests, through forming a group, to becoming lead singer, through losing on Star Search, through getting signed and dropped, through getting signed again, through the first hit single to a hit second album, through the group breaking up and recalibrating, through going solo, through establishing herself, building this musical and artistic legacy.
I bet all that was running through her head when she won. no wonder she was emotional.

@Firesky Yeah. Vocally she is much better than JLo. But JLo was also of not magical natural talent with a huge work ethic and crystal vision. Unstoppable. I admire that. That’s why I compare them.
Frankly, I have to admire that she works to make a song out of that nauseating schlock those “songwriters” she surrounds herself with give her. Computer generated, factory slog. She needs to hire a David Foster type legendary composer or someone who writes music that will still be around in 50 years.
I was thinking about this thread when I read the news about Burt Bacharach passing today. This legendary songwriter and composer was a huge part of the soundtrack of the 60s and 70s and worked with many big artists. Also 3 academy awards. He won 6 Grammys in one of the most prolific careers in history. When winning a Grammy was an actual prestigious event and worthy of high praise. I can only imagine him sitting in the audience watching Beyoncé perform one of those auditorally offensive “songs” from Renaissance. His resting WTF face. What’s happened to the quality of songwriting and instrumental excellence is just sad. And what young people think of as exceptional is worse. There are exceptions of course. Jacob Collier, HER and a few others. But Beyoncé has 32 Grammys? That’s just Crazy.

I don’t admit the Grammy’s gets it right very often, but they did this time. Beyoncé is well deserved of this award and all the one’s previous. Beyoncé is one of the most iconic artists of all time, and over the past few years she has really developed a sound all her own. Great job! 👏 👏 👏 … now, let’s start recognizing other genres and artists that aren’t mainstream (asides from the one or two they pick each year simply so they seem inclusive). I think Tobe Nwigwe should’ve won a Grammy, along with the bands: Polyphia and Animals as Leaders.

      The Gospel:
(I am not a bot, I'm just someone who enjoys spreading the gospel. Much love to you all!)
The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over His enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy.
Peter says in 1 Peter 2:24, “He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.”
So Christ died not only to forgive sin, but also that it might die in the lives of His people.
      ~Quoting John Piper~
      ALSO
My friend put together a great PowerPoint about the Gospel and Jesus being the prophesied Messiah. I'd like to share if you're interested, just reply and I can send you the link. May Jesus Bless you!

@ABMS Well. Certainly it would be great to have all that wealth. You could help a lot of people and create any life you want. I wouldn't care about fame. And I know that she has worked very hard and kept an unstoppable vision. That's truly remarkable.
But THAT has zero to do with her level of musical excellence in comparison with other artists. The fact that she's won more Grammys than any other artist since the 40s isn't a tribute to her musical greatness. It's a condemnation of what has become of the music industrys marketing and selling of and the general (meaning not all) clamoring of this generation for computerized, factory built, superficial mediocrity since the early 2000s.

@D'heireea Torres Absolutely. Bonnie Raitt is an amazing artist who didn't write a lot of her own music. Frank Sinatra was ALL covers by GREAT songwriters. Bonnie wasn't surrounded by an army of factory people writing just for her. She just would get songs and look for songs that moved her. And yes, there was shitty music and songwriting back in the day but we aren't talking about the shitty music because they wouldn't get Grammys. This music would NEVER get a Grammy back then because they were competing with the likes of Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Lionel Ritchie, Aretha Franklin, etc. Watch the amazing Rick Beato and his breaking down of music and WHY the music that is considered "song of the year" material now days is so without any depth or musical excellence. Beats, autotune and computer generated noise in so many cases. AWFUL.

@Teresa Lynne Also she wasn't the only artist who use song writers, so many artist in the 70s and 80s did too before the 90s, so the army of songwriters happened way before she came on the scene, so why judge only her for it?

This speech brought tears to my eyes. I felt her sentiment as she was giving thanks to God, her uncle, parents, husband, children and the Queer community. When you look back at her beginnings and think of all be sacrifices that she & everyone had made to help her get to where she is it makes you emotional.

@Lea Reed You do know that YHWH made HIS presence known in Africa ages before the transatlantic slave trade and colonization took place right?
No one is forcing y'all and that's the beauty of HIS Grace. Y'all are choosing to allow this woman to lead you to hell.
"You lack faith". Says the person who thinks that YHWH & HIS Word originated from colonization.
HIS Love will never lead one to support someone who states she uses HIS Word as a tampon, like you are doing.
      Reevaluate your priorities.

@GarageStudio you're spewing the teachings of colonizers who literally had people executed or enslaved. you're riding hard for a religion that was forced upon you. God would never require His followers to come to him by force.
You are not an Archangel. It is not your place to speak for the creator that was assigned to you. You lack faith, you only know how to shame others into faith. You are not what represents His love.
