The fact that Simon compared him to Mr. Bean, that's amazing in itself. Mr. Bean is not only a gem of Britain but across the world as well. I hope Tape Face continues to perform and just brighten people's day because he really is quite clever and funny. It would be amazing if Mr. Bean and Tape Face did an act together. 😎👍

Dude is a true artist. He clearly has a huge love and appreciation for miming, and in a time where that’s practically non existent, he works on it tirelessly and uses it to bring a character to life. Honestly I don’t even like these kind of shows normally I mean I did as a kid, but I don’t see how ANYONE could dislike this guy. Even if you don’t think it’s funny you cannot deny the talent and skill it takes to bring a character to life without ANY WORDS. That’s so much easier said then done, I’m sure plenty of middle schoolers are like “I could do that it looks so easy” but the second they actually tried to make a huge audience not only laugh, but get on your side without using any words at all they would see how crazy this is

Tape Face knew Terry would run with him because Terry really has no problem just letting himself go and being totally goofy and letting people laugh. It Tape Face hadn't cut him Off my guess is Terry would have fully kept it going until Tape Face stepped in.

What I like about Tape Face is that he doesn't linger on one set piece he made. He does the piece, he gets the reaction he hopes for and moves on within like ten seconds. It's rather quick paced, which I love.

  • KAK26
    KAK26 11 ай бұрын +76

In addition to brilliant conic timing and originality, I just love the inclusiveness of his act. Like, when he gets someone to perform with him, he's all about sharing the spotlight. He gets a person to perform, too, without them even knowing it/having prepared. And they end up fabulous, with everyone cheering for them. Which has got to be the most joyous feeling! I have never seen anyone do that/love it!
But then, also..like, the "Lean on Me" bit, where he got those guys in that incredible position together, all by working together, 'leaning" on each other. Not only perfectly illustrating the words of the song, but evoking the emotion that goes along with it. Like, I actually felt choked up, like I just witnessed something incredible/moved by the message of pulling off something incredible by helping each other. And so you have this really moving/emotional moment but then just as fast, he turns it back to comedy. That's genius. That's how the comedy greats always handle drama. By pulling at your heart, and then, somehow, getting you to laugh. The comc relief.
Yeah there is just such incredible joy here. Such a message of we're all in this together. Amazing, too, how the joy and innocence juxtaposes with his makeup. How he pulls it all off is most amazing.

This is genius simply from the fact he must perform with completely new scenes and musical pantomimes for each performance. It is not as if he was a singer or dancer with a single talent, but must introduce a completely new from top to bottom stage show. If he wants an extended performance, he must introduce several complete sets per night. He is also a genius for the simplicity within the complete transformations. A true entertainer.

The fact that Howie Mandel, an outstanding comedian in his own right (allegedly, but not on his own, unless he's only outstanding when doing stand-up in an empty theatre), very quickly (immediately or not immediately, there is no immediatishly) recognised the talent masked by (not behind) the tape, speaks volumes though mime cannot.
So if any one taught its poetic, than them should of gone back to there school.

Tape Face manages to look vulnerable throughout his performance. But at the same time, at the end of every performance, its obvious that he was in control every step of the way. Its a difficult tight rope to walk.

Yeah this show is pretty bad. It entertains the vast majority of you, but I mean, the average attention span and intelligence gives us no reason to assume the show WOULDNT entertain. Also, it's definitely NOT scripted. Not ever. And it's definitely not fooling any of you.

I think most of his acts are ok but brilliantly entertaining. Like, you might not find the act to be that good, but yet he absolutely gets all of your attention and you always want to see what he's gonna do next. And that in itself is absolutely brilliant. That being said, THE FIRST ACT has to be by far my favorite original act of all time. It is actually funny, it plays with your imagination wonderfully and is absolutely memorable.

After all the years since I've seen TF's act, each time I see it again is a celebration of fun and respect. Man is simple amazing.
The most important thing for comedy has always been to create joy. When you see the young boy in the audience standing, waiting for TF's act, smiling and laughing, you know TF has succeeded. He brings joy and happiness to the world.
