It’s rare to see a politician who is willing to sit down for a two hour unscripted discussion. For those of us interested in long form discussion and getting insight into the mind of a leader, this talk between Jordan Peterson and Pierre Poilievre is a must watch.

I was raised liberal but I’m a person of reason so I land somewhere in the middle. However Pierre has impressed me because he has a clear, concise plan. He’s honest and he answers questions straight forward. He is refreshing, intelligent, humble, and fair. He’s a proud Canadian and he would represent us well on the world stage. He has definitely won me over and I am 100% voting for him in the next election. 🙌🏾

Being a "person of reason" and landing "somewhere in the middle" is not mutually exclusive. It seems a person of reason would care about taking action against the climate crisis, but ok.

Pierre Polievre is an ordinary man on an Extraordinary mission. Canada is a mess right now under it's current leadership, and Pierre has the guts and gonads to point out their flaws and passion, armed with factual plans, to make changes for all of us. His only unfortunate drawback is that he's the leader of the Federal Conservative party, so many won't listen to his message labeling him Non-Liberal. Give this man the platform we deserve.

@Robbie Paris HAD NO IDEA WHEN I SPOKE OF CANADA AND EUTHANASIA THAT THE MAJORITY OF YOUR COMMENTS HAVE TO DO WITH CANADA'S GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE. JUST FOR YOU AND OTHERS WHO READ THIS I WILL GIVE YOU A LEAD: 8/15/22 Forbes: had an article (as did many others at that time and since) stating in the title that Canada's New Health Law about Euthanasia reminds of the Nazi era. That is not exact title but many key words. I am certain someone like yourself who has no time to search out conspiracy type comments, yet plenty of time to taunt other commenters, can with ease find the article(s) I spoke of here and earlier about Canada and Euthanasia. Receive this FACT as a gift NOT a CONSPIRACY. Hope you make it out alive. Euthanasia is heinous especially when some have no say in their outcome.

Thank you for sharing this interview / discussion (also, I learn a lot from your lectures).
I migrated to Canada over a decade ago with a hope for better life as a skilled worker and obtained a professional license to practice in Ontario. I have many friends in Canada, and my clients appreciated my work. However, I found it very risky continuing to live in Ontario / Canada, and couldn’t continue doing any business where there is no fair legal protection and do not respect my basic human rights.
There are too many fraudulent organizations, individuals, legal professionals, and public servants with authority. People with fiduciary duty openly lie, abuse their authority, commonly downplay the significance of their criminal acts, and together try to maintain their status quo biases.
I have emigrated from Canada a year ago to protect my health and life, but am concerned about the safety of my good friends who still live in Ontario/Canada because of the corrupt legal system there.
    -
Specific examples of what I have experienced:
    [Employment/Criminal Case]
    - Punished by the system for pointing out the risk of clients' data manipulation by the upper management of a company; legal proceedings were constantly interrupted by the Board; they have suppressed/buried the evidences that I have provided; they did not share all case files with me/the applicant but among all other parties until one minute before 5pm on the last day of the statute of limitation; the Vice Chair had interrupted the direct negotiation between the parties and closed the case by canceling the hearing; the Board’s lawyer told, 'sue the Ontario government if you have any issue';
    [Civil Case]
    - Ignored by the system when filed a complaint about the fraudulent practices (to LSO) and a fraudulent charge of over 10K without any itemized invoice (to the Superior Court of Justice) made by a contingency lawyer after failing to negotiate and abandoning the client(me); the lawyer is apparently a son of board members / public servants of the province and the country;
    [Residential Tenancy/Public Health Case]
    - Punished by the system for requesting the property owner to eradicate health hazards (toxic mold, pests, and dusts) from my living space in a residential rental property; LTB proceedings was biased and unfair, interrupted multiple times when I spoke and suppressed the use of my evidences in the hearing (e.g., a letter from a medical doctor, warning the danger of continued exposure to toxic mold), downplayed the risks of exposure to asbestos/lead and the obvious contraventions of the laws [OHSA, RTA, and municipal Property Standards by-laws] by the property owner; LTB suggested the [former] Tenant to pay for the order reviews only to decline those reviews; LTB's selective omissions of evidences that are inconvenient to the other party/ the property owner; my basic human rights were clearly violated -- no response from LTB, Tribunals Ontario, nor Human Rights Tribunals; the property owner, municipal Property Standards office, and LTB have colluded, needlessly delayed the proceedings, and closed the case after 2.5 years without issuing any order against the property owner’s contraventions of the laws, while I had continued to suffer from the prolonged exposures to health hazards (I have paid the rent in full for over a decade without any delay, even during the Covid lockdown, out of my retirement savings [I was not eligible for the government financial support during the lockdown -- no income]). At least two of sixteen units in the building had their balconies literally falling apart; the walls have cracks and friable materials in the living space; my neighbors were afraid of falling through the cracks on the balconies from the upper floors - you never hear about these things in news because they are all colluded and do not issue any official orders.
    [Healthcare Issue]
    - I left Canada before Nov. 30, 2021, as I had serious reactions to the first Covid vaccine-shot (my immune system was compromised) but my physician had refused to diagnose them then - there was no proof of the reactions to the first shot; later the physician had made lies and terminated the doctor-patient relationship; I was required to take the second-shot, or else… I have disposed / gave away of my belongings within two weeks and left the country to protect my health and life -- fled from Canada.
Reported to CBC, but they do not reply.
Posted Gogle Reviews, but they are deleted.

Never thought I’d see the day when a conservative candidate was the only one truly championing for the working class. I’ve been strictly an NDP voter in the 18 years since I became old enough to vote - except for the horrible mistake I, along with many other Canadians, made in 2015 when I voted for sunny ways that never came - and have never voted conservative once. But that will change in the next cycle, provided you manage to stave off the establishment plant that is Jean Charest and secure the CPC leadership. I look forward to voting for you Mr. Poilievre. Bout time Canadians get some real leadership again.

As in international viewer watching this months later, Pierre Poilievre's views on societal ills are so refreshing. You have no idea how mainstream media can shape your ideology. I thought of myself as someone who's somewhat intelligent and couldn't be easily manipulated, until I realized that I had already been indoctrinated by the woke left. Fortunately, my conservative viewpoints on capitalism allowed more right-leaning content to seep into this woke echo chamber that I was in, leading to somewhat of an enlightened awakening.
The fight against the establishment is going to be a long and painful one, and I wish Mr Poilievre all the success in the world. His ability to simplistically layout a path forward is a clear demonstration on his grasp of the issues facing Canadian people. The challenge now is opening the eyes of those who's views are being shaped by the woke media.

    • Tom Korte
Tom Korte 10 ай бұрын +1

There's some good stuff here, particularly on economics and limiting the size of government, but some really terrible stuff too. Pierre's policy on 'affordable housing' is straight out of the Karl Marx playbook. Basically, if you've worked and saved your way into a single-family home then you're a 'Gatekeeper Elitist' that's robbing young Canadians of their dream of home ownership. This is beyond disingenuous, it's a flat out lie. The single biggest cause for skyrocketing house prices is massive immigration and you can see that in the way increasing house prices correlate with increasing immigration. Pierre correctly points out that more dollars chasing fewer goods means increased prices and so it also goes with housing; increase the number of people that need a place to live, and you increase the cost of that living space. Another problem with this leftist fairy tale is that just increasing the supply of new housing actually increases the average cost of a house. It used to be that first time buyers would start with an older 'fixer-upper', because that's what they could afford, and gradually move up until they had something nicer, often with the help of their own sweat equity. Pierre conveniently ignores this because he doesn't want to even mention immigration; after all, his wife is an immigrant so what's he going to do? He has to choose between peace at home and gutting the Canadian dream of a traditional Canadian lifestyle, and he's thrown you and every other working class Canadian under the bus. You can bet he won't ever be living in a high-density housing area and I'm guessing he currently lives in a nice single-family house with a big yard. Rules for thee but not for me! Typical Ontario politician; always happy to give away other people's stuff be it money, culture, neighborhoods, whatever, as long as it gets them ahead.
No politician other than Maxime Bernier has the courage to point out the obvious; that mass immigration is a major problem in Canada and needs to be stopped.

      Underlord Ай бұрын

@Abe Michau I think that's a "you" problem, because I've seen him admit his ignorance in multiple situations.
One of his twelve rules for life is literally "act as if the person you're talking to knows something you don't", one of the reasons he defends free speech is because free speech allows people to help you correct your bad ideas.
You might have gotten this impression from the combative interviews he's had but that's perfectly understandable since most of his opponents are ideologically possessed NPCs. They really don't have anything new, original or interesting to offer him.

    • Abe Michau
      Abe Michau Ай бұрын

Definition according to google “attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed. “
Peterson has a very strong personal view about a variety of issues, he has every right to express his beliefs as he wishes, as does anyone else.
He comes off as though his opinion is non negotiable, as a matter of fact, or your wrong and I’m right , mentality. Yes he has a higher education and most likely well read individual, and has a bunch of subscribers yadda yadda yadda; but I don’t take orders from any one person, I’ll form my opinion on my own and march to the beat of my own drum. We all have certain personalities we clash with. He just rubs me the wrong way most of the time.

I am so relieved to finally have a leader I can get behind. I have been so embarrassed with the lack of real leadership in this country. I first heard of Pierre in a video where he was speaking to a group about where is the money coming from that’s funding these inflated mortgages. I had no idea he was a politician at the time and thought his speech was amazing. I am glad to hear someone call attention to the bad decisions that have destroyed life in this country and believe he has the ability to get us back on track.

I'm a fish year apprentice but I wasn't allowed to finish my schooling because I'm unvaxed. But my vaxxed peers are allowed to go and the schooling was done from HOME. I'm allowed to go to the stores fix the fridges and keep your safe but not allowed to go to school and get my license. Lost freedom of education. Freedom of travel. When working in farmboy stores I had to eat my lunch in the van while high-schoolers could eat in the seating area. What happend to freedom of picking what goes in your body.

@Mike Archibald #1 Everyone is Bias... So attacking someone for having them is just a dumb place to start... You can have a Bias but believe in speaking honestly and with thought put into what you say as he does. That makes for a good interviewer, and interview. As he has some of the most view long form interviews on the net.
#2 Would our prime minister be willing to talk to him for over an hour and come out half as well as Pierre did? I think some people just like to hate people just to hate.
How has Trudeau taken a "free market" approach when his gov. has injected more cash into the housing market than ANY OTHER gov in our history? Your comment is so far for anything real or factual at every level its hard to know if your really a Canadian, or just a bot?

@Michel-Carole Lavallee I think a lot of people say cute things like this and it sounds nice. But the reality is markets decide. If it makes sense to use those technologies... people will use them. The last thing a nation needs while trying to grow is to hinder them selves with expensive green energy. The reality of "central planning" and thinking because you have a nice idea the world should adopt it, while not having any real "solution" offered is just a 21st century trope. We think life is a movie.

Pierre, I too was a product of a very young mother and was adopted by a secure. loving, hard-working family. I feel that you are a product of good genes and good environment. Obviously, you have been the recipient of intelligence and a strong ability for articulation. Thanks to your birth parents and your family that raised you.
My belief is you will be our country's next leader and Lord, I hope so. Justin Trudeau is literally 'breaking the backs' of tax paying Canadians and the middle class. Does he really think we, the hard-working middle class, can continue to fully support the whole country? I worked all my life, paid taxes, never relied on government subsides, am a retired senior, and still paying thousands in taxes that I really cannot afford to pay. Please, I hope that Atlantic Canadians & Quebecers ( note; that I have noted them as a distinct society) develop some semblance of common sense or intelligence and elect Conservative MPs in the next election.

To those who wish to protect him for various reasons, they would simply try to dismiss Dr. Peterson as an extremist as they always do when facing a potential challenge.
The fact that his actions are geared to protect him from scrutiny and being challenged, gives me the impression he has a lot to hide. Unfortunately, the people who need to see this are not getting the message.
For me personally, I would look at it along with a whole lot of other information and say it fits perfectly with his character and fragile ego. I would be shocked if he ever did an interview with someone who wasn't on his payroll.
