I love how Mike is portraited as the ultimate professional: no mistakes, no emotions, all his actions calculated from cleaning up Jane's house to escaping the police manhunt on him. But at 01:30 he finally loses his cold front and lashes at Walter telling him everything he thinks of him, and then dies because of those seconds stepping out of his character...
“… you and your pride and your ego…” is the line that echos in my head when thinking about this scene. Jonathan’s performance is incredible and just telling Walt point-blank what’s wrong with him and why everything keeps going to hell around him. He said it in the most direct way possible with no hesitation or fear. Just anger and aggravation.
@Matthew Howard That's actually not true. The entire reason why Walt conspired against Gus to begin with was because he wanted to protect Jesse. Gus' inability to just trust in Walter's trust in Jesse ultimately made an enemy out of Walt.
I love it when Mike looks so defeated and given up after Walt had shot him. Mike has dealt with killers, mercenaries and gangs all his life but that one moment of losing his guard had screwed him. So he's just sitting there trying to die in peace not even fighting back anymore thinking "Really? Killed by this guy?"
Don't forget how in BCS, its heavily implied during the arms deal scene that Mike served in the Vietnam war. It makes a lot of sense to some degree given his profficiency with weapons and combat, but if that is true, and Mike really did survive a WAR just to go out like that...man.....
@SheTheyIt He That could have been a callback to Mike saying that Walt would be dead or arrested due to his amateur-status in the drug trade. When Mike advised Saul to avoid getting into business with Walt.
“I can’t up and leave mike I’ve got a family. People who depend on me” That line aggravated me to my core cause Mike was the one truly doing it all for his family
@armysniperman80 Walter only said he did it for himself because he wanted to see his daughter one last time and so Skyler would feel better about her own wrongdoing. He truly was a good man who fought against all odds 💪🏼
@Just some guy who likes water HUH. Tuco was in a gunfight??? Walter basically shot Mike in the back? You literally just invalidated your argument with the worst example possible.
No. He didn't expect him to kill him at that particular moment. There were many times before Mike knew walt had valid reasons to kill him like when he was about to execute him.
@AHP I dont think he was thinking about or caring about what happened to walt at all. why would he expend that much energy in his dying moments for such a fool? There was no conscious thought to “spare or kill” walter. just to spend the rest of that time left in peace.
For me the saddest part is Walt following Mike and trying to apologise. Even in Mike’s last moments peacefully contemplating the end and looking over the beautiful view, Walt ruins the moment thinking about his own ego. Mike’s response is perfect.
@runetide say what you want but he really accomplished what he wanted. He made a name for himself and his family will get the money he initially wanted to get.
@Matthew Green and everyone were bad persons in the show, yall like to jump into the conclusion that walter is satan but jessie, mike and gus aren't exactly saints.
What's even more disturbing is knowing after Mike died, Walter had to drag is corpse back up, stuff him in the trunk, hope to not get pulled over by police, and in the next episode, with todd, dissolved him in acid, with 0 remorse for what he'd done.
You kill by the sword, you died by the sword, mike was never a saint and he was just too deep in the game to make apart from it, in this cycle of revenge that never ends, he just ended up just like everyone who was in the game, losing everything and damaging his loved ones, like kayle, who will always remembered his grandfather as a mercenarie who run away without remorse
God I love 2:12 shot. The way the sinister music starts as Walt reenters the scene with murderous intent. Like the boogeyman coming to claim his victim.
Underrated part of this scene: Walter: I just can’t just up and leave like you Mike. I have a family. I have people that depend on me. Mike: *clicks lips* yeah… Walter is so self centered he doesn’t even think that maybe Mike is leaving something behind too. That maybe people depend on him as well.
@sraffsohma123 he refused because they were "kindly" offering him money that belongs to him and he was tired of depending on other people , he didn't want them to be the good guys of the story , and him to be the guy who failed everything in his life
this scene never fails to make me cry. i keep thinking how stacey and kaylee eventually found out about mike's drug business and all the other things he did. but he was still a good man and was really doing it all for his family. it's heartbreaking that mike's story ended this way
Dude, just no my dude. Mike wasn’t even remotely a good man, he could have easily stopped doing what he did but actively chose not to. He could have chosen any other job besides being a hit man for the cartel but chose not to. In what universe is mike a good person bro? 🤨
Mike could have killed Walt but you could tell he was just so tired of all the fighting and death. He rather have a peaceful death than get revenge and that perfectly sums up who Mike was as a character... Such a powerful scene
It's better for his granddaughter if he disappears and lets Walt win than to kill Walt and 2 rotting corpses with drugs and cash in their trunks get found by the police.
I think we ignore the fact that at the start of Walt’s relationship with Gus & Co. Gus tells him in his restaurant how much of a liability Jesse is because of his status as a drug addict. Walt even enrages Gus by comparing himself to him. Gus inherently knew the problems that came along with Jesse’s status. Even after the 2 dealers kill Combo, Jesse is more enraged at the fact that they’re using children. Gus knows that emotions like that just don’t have a place in drug dealing. Even after knowing how powerful Gus is, Jesse still chooses to go against him which is another bad trait for an employee. I think Walt of course had love for Jesse in both a caring and manipulative way, but if he hadn’t included him in the first place, none of what followed would have happened.
@Jordan Astro Cause Mike chickened out when he had the opportunity to do the same (to save Nacho). He expected Walt to bow his head and allow Jesse to die just as he had already done.
@Bobby Cilkebh I think Mike just wanted Walt to put his head down, cook, make his money and let Gus deal with the drug dealer situation with Jesse. Instead ofc Walt killed the dealers, saving Jesse, and the rest is history lol.
His last moments really get to me. Mike had a very miserable life but did everything he could for the people he cared about. His son being murdered and then entering a life a crime, you can tell he knew his life wasn't going to end well. So when his time came and he had the opportunity to crawl down the hill and have that view at the lake, he was not about to let Walt spoil that moment. A beautiful and blissful view of the lake was the last thing he saw. Something we all can agree, he deserved.
I like how in the beginning of the show they took the time to show us in detail how Walter dealt with getting rid of dead bodies of people he killed. But towards the end, everyone knows Walter is already a professional in erasing his traces, so they trust us In completing the details. I like the faith they have in the viewers mind.
This is by far the most needless kill I've seen in the whole series, I'd seen walt being stupid several times in the series but couldn't believe he stooped this low and straight up shot Mike just because he refused a demand!
@Shea Roberts The child was a part of a strategy at least. Walt didn't have to kill Mike at all, like he later admitted he could have just went to Lydia for the names
@Shea Roberts depends on for what Eason you call it pathetic. Poisoning the child was a completely genius move that led to the fall of a guy who we thought was invincible in Gus.
The irony is that Walt is arguably the most dangerous character in the entire Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe. You see the other characters coming unlike him. Like Mike once described him very accurately, "A ticking bomb."
This was the most upsetting death for me! Mike was my favourite character and I will never forget Walt for doing that. And the thing that makes it even worse and sadder, is when you have watched Better Caul Saul and learn more about Mike's life and what a good person he actually is, with a big heart and so much tragedy, that he doesn't show often or the creators don't show us often in Breaking Bad.
I always find it funny that even in his last moments, Mike made Walt listen to an order lol you can see Walt clench his teeth after he tells him to stfu. Subtle little acting I picked up on years later. This show really is genius for cable tv.
Anyone else just really captivated by how walt is in season 5? Even in that better call Saul flashback Cranston still embodies something that you just can’t stop watching
This right here was the most unexpected moment in the entire series for me. I just couldn't see him dying. I saw him as someone way too careful, to savvy to get himself into a situation with no way out. His death was quite fitting cause only something this random and crazy could kill him.
@Sub Zero oh it starts with walt? Like that time jessie tried to kill thise two drug dealers and started stealing from the lab? Yeah, yeah poor jessie didn't do anything wrong.
lol why didnt mike answer the question? , get yourself followed by the DEA... ...and now suddenly, this is all my fault? - Why don't you walk me through this?
A lot of people got this all wrong. He clearly took the gun out before he even showed up. He was planning to kill mike or not based on whether he gave up the names.
"If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now." look at Walter's face when Mike tells him that... I bet he's drawing parallels to when he left Gray Matter too, and how much better off he would have been had he have just stayed put. Ego ruined both of these for him
God I loved Mike so much after BCS. I rewatched breaking bad years after I originally seen it and almost forgot about his death. So it felt like watching it for the first time again. And it had me depressed for about a few hours
Bryan Cranston is two characters in the span of 5 minutes seamlessly. Heisenberg is all the bravado, then Walter backs away from Mike in fear, then Heisenberg murders Mike, then Walter is beside himself and tries to apologize.
People really forget that Jesse was responsible for all of this and Walter was fine with working under gus. The whole pride and ego thing is really overstated. Gus and Mike tried to kill Walt so it was self defence
Yes, in this part of the script, Walt really could've said something to refute Mike's point, but in this scene his character just had to have the final reasonable word
Walt's reasons for saving Jesse again come from pride. He didn't care that the dealers used kids or even about Jesse beyond the scope of his use for him. Just like Mike said, he wanted to be the man, and wouldn't abide Gus being in control over him or his domain
My favorite part is where Walter pulled his Walther revolver out then screamed out “It’s Waltin’ Time!” n just started walting all over the place in a revolving motion
The writers decided to kill off the most likeable character with a great background story, seconds before he could leave the show peacefully... Only to show how much of a merciless, messed up thug the main character became. It still hits deep after all those years.
@jellyjimbelly Thats true Walter Loses his family and ends up dying, Saul i haven t watch Better call Saul but i know that its a time that he is in jail, Mike ends up dying, Gus ends up dying, Jesse ends up Alive, but his two girlfriends died
I really liked Mike, but he was wrong a lot of times about Walter. In this particular scene for instance, Mike recalls everybody having a “good thing” with Gus attributing the meltdown to Walt’s “pride & ego” which is, to say the least, absolutely false; Gus was up to no good towards Walt trying all along to replace him with his long-acquainted chemist (Gale) as well as driving a wedge between Walt & Jesse. Not to mention Walt rebelling against him in order to protect Jesse only for Gus to threaten to kill his “infant daughter” later on. Perhaps Walter was a monster, but nonetheless he was battling monsters that he eventually outsmarted. Gus was a well-groomed snake and Heisenberg cut its head off when it showed its fangs.
Mike was my favorite both on BB and BCS. Even though he did terrible things, he faced up to his actions and didn't make excuses. I like how he tried to save Nacho.
What hits the most for me is how after Mike is shot he instantly goes into survival mode, he’s so stealthy even wounded that Walt doesn’t notice him leave the car. Knowing how skilled Mike is I’m 99% sure he could’ve killed Walt if he wanted to but he made the personal decision that he was done and would rather go out peacefully.
Can we just talk about how quick mikes reflexes are. As soon as he gets shot he tries to take off. Now if only someone can do that in a horror movie lol
I love how despite everything Mike’s been through he gets killed by Walt over something stupid. Just goes to show how you could do all this crazy stuff put yourself in danger and your death could be caused by something that didn’t even need to happen.
Well, this is a very nice comment section. Thanks for all the contributions. I guess it’s not random. It’s just crazy to see how he just died from something stupid when he could’ve been killed from any other near death situation he was in.
I love how in the last season we have Mike Who Is the opposite of Walt and in a certain way Is what Walt think about himself ( a righteous man Who did what he did for the family) and we have Todd who Is the opposite of Jessie ( a dangerous psychopath with 0 empathy ). Both protagonists in the final season have to face off they' re worst enemies : themselves.
I still remember the first time I saw Walter walk back into frame. His movement and posture were so intentional, so furious. I immediately knew what was coming.
Arguably the most evil thing Walt’s done. At least when he poisoned brock it was a calculated decision when he had his back up against the wall. Here he just shot mike because he hurt his feelings
And Mike had 200k to care for Kaylee, had already gotten them a house, but chose to get in deep with Fring, sell his soul, and lose his family entirely. Mike hates Walt because Mike knows on some level they're the same person.
@DR DOOMER You shouldnt be caring about your own ego if you're life is being threatened by cancer though, ultimately this's nobody elses fault. He could've not dealt at all
@Marcus Fossa you do realize we're talking about a guy that wanted to "be in the empire business" even after getting money that can support his family for generations, on drugs mind you
Absolutely brutal, and heartbreaking & sad....it brought out all sorts of emotions in me. I am near the end of Better Call Saul, which I am enjoying immensely - but nothing comes close to BB, apart from maybe Seasons 1-5 of Game of Thrones. RIP Mike Ehrmantraut (such a great name...).....🙂
one of the scenes that made me emotional the most, the part where mike's staring at the river makes me sad knowing he's counting his last seconds and he had good things to look out for. i didn't like walt due to his countless manipulation moments but this scene grows my hatred even more because it could've been avoided if he wasn't so angry about the truth.
I wish we could of seen Stacey’s and Kaylee’s reactions to all this. Learning who mike really was and what type of work he did, then learning he was killed
@hello man wrong. Mike clearly said he enjoys his job in season 3 episode 4. He was in the game because he liked the thrill, just like Walter. Money was secondary to them
that little 'tug of war' with the duffle bag of money was the perfect distraction from the gun not being in the bag. It was probably because of that little game with the bag exchange that threw Mike off guard allowed him to get emotional and didn't bother to check the bag for the gun, as soon as he got possession of the bag. But Mike just wanting to get away from Walt as quick as possible and that extra minute gave Walt the opportunity to get the jump on Mike. Well played Walt.
The blood that splats on the car seat when mike is shot symbolizes Mikes trust in Walter leaving his body. This is evident because by Mikes tone earlier it sounded like he disliked Walter. Amazing writing! Bravo Vince!
@Fourteen I think you didn't pay good attention to the show. Gus was not trying to kill him until he started causing issues and being wild and unpredictable.
@Archives of Fantasy yea but here's the thing mate: i don't trust walt. i trust mike lol. mike's perspective will naturally be more well rounded - if he'd had an actual hand in all of this hullaballoo he wouldn't have even bothered to start in on walt.
The best series ever to grace the screens. I’ve watched it all 4 times in 2 years it’s that good. Pity Walter was killed, I think it would have been a fab continuation had he lived.
This scene hits different after watching Better Call Saul. Mike told Saul word for word “that amateur is going to Break Bad, and when the Bad is Broken, there is no Unbreaking the Bad. Remember I said these exact words when the Bad is going to Break all around us Goodman. Anyway, you wanna go get some Cinnabon?” When you come back and watch this scene you really can tell Mike is staring into the distance really upset he didn’t get to have that last Cinnabon.
@Alexei Harp Walt was never going to be satisfied. It was never about the money, it was about him having an empire. If it was about the money, he would've taken the money from big ears at the beginning of the show. But as Mike said, Walt's pride and ego caused his downfall, as well as everyone associated with him.
Yes and no, Walt showed that he could run this business and leave it when he was satisfied with the amount of money earned was sufficient. Through horrible ways yes but still. Walt had retired for good from crime/empire business until Hank found that one evidence.
Mike has always outsmarted his enemies. The only reason he died here is because Walt did something so unbelievably stupid no one could've ever seen it coming.
Just saw this episode damn literally killed him for names Lydia already had he could of just let Mike go but probably the saddest part is Mike didn't even get to tell his granddaughter goodbye
Imagine trying to die peacefully and then your killer comes up to you trying to have a conversation with you
@Aditya Subhedar ok...
"so.. what are your plans tomorrow.."
"Nice day for fishin aint? he he"
‘Let me die in peace
No he apologised for making mistake😂
I love how Mike is portraited as the ultimate professional: no mistakes, no emotions, all his actions calculated from cleaning up Jane's house to escaping the police manhunt on him. But at 01:30 he finally loses his cold front and lashes at Walter telling him everything he thinks of him, and then dies because of those seconds stepping out of his character...
I didn't like Mike anyways. Always acted so cocky as if he was some undefeatable superhuman, i was relieved when i saw this scene.
ok
He was gonna kill mike regardless thats why the holster was shown to show walt was going to use a gun
@Wilfred V what? It’s not a valid reason at all. It might be some things humans do but it’s definitely not valid at all.
@GojiCrafter lmfao hey
Bro really killed mike because he was losing an argument
He killed Mike because Mike would’ve came after walt after he assassinated all his men
Gus was after his family he could have argued that instead he kept looking
mike wouldve killed him a lot of other times before this
To be fair, it wasn’t walts ego that made Gus want to kill walt, he was just trying to protect Jesse.
average twitter user right there
“… you and your pride and your ego…” is the line that echos in my head when thinking about this scene. Jonathan’s performance is incredible and just telling Walt point-blank what’s wrong with him and why everything keeps going to hell around him. He said it in the most direct way possible with no hesitation or fear. Just anger and aggravation.
Gus was after his family threatening him so he had to , could have argued like this but instead he stared angrily
And then Walt killed him for it -_-
It's one of those line deliveries that live rent free in my head.
It has to be conducived to him. ( Walter )
If he fulls his point-blank. It will lead him to death by somehow.
I like how Mike was so right about Walt and yet STILL manages to underestimate him because Walt is just THAT unpredictable
Unhinged you mean
He was Griffith. Just a man with a dream who soared too high.
@Matthew Howard That's actually not true. The entire reason why Walt conspired against Gus to begin with was because he wanted to protect Jesse. Gus' inability to just trust in Walter's trust in Jesse ultimately made an enemy out of Walt.
@lkuiiuy nah
@Joseph Lee Bob yummy

@Nick How could he NOT be killed by Walt at that point? If Walt couldn't do it, nobody could.
@SheTheyIt He That could have been a callback to Mike saying that Walt would be dead or arrested due to his amateur-status in the drug trade. When Mike advised Saul to avoid getting into business with Walt.
@R Mnope. It was Walt’s ego that killed him. Walt’s a fragile narcissist.
Even as Mike is dying, Waltuh can’t help but make it about himself. Mike’s last line was truly the perfect line
@Morgan Freeman You're based. Look at all the seething in the replies.
Waltuh is something else 😂 Always about him just like the meme
@Gaming enthusiasT no he didnt
@Stranger you dont understand this show very well
Mike was going to kill him atleast 5 times.
“I can’t up and leave mike I’ve got a family. People who depend on me”
That line aggravated me to my core cause Mike was the one truly doing it all for his family
“I did it for me”
Mike makes excuses just like Walt
@J Th I mostly agree, but I don't know if he was 100 percent a truly good man - mostly though! lol.
@armysniperman80 Walter only said he did it for himself because he wanted to see his daughter one last time and so Skyler would feel better about her own wrongdoing. He truly was a good man who fought against all odds 💪🏼
So was Walt, no matter what he said in the last episode.
It was literally the first time Mike put his guard down the whole show. He never guessed Walt would be that low to cheap shot him like that.
@Just some guy who likes water HUH. Tuco was in a gunfight??? Walter basically shot Mike in the back? You literally just invalidated your argument with the worst example possible.
@Just some guy who likes water Guess you have never heard of the term "duel"
@Suraj Singh Tomar Arya how could he not expect to be killed right after all his guys in prison were killed
No. He didn't expect him to kill him at that particular moment. There were many times before Mike knew walt had valid reasons to kill him like when he was about to execute him.
Mike deserved it. He had it coming what did he think he'd keep pushing Walt's buttons and nothing would happen?
The fact that Mike could've easily killed Walt after he got shot but decides to sit and die peacefully will always be my favorite thing in the show
He obviously didn't have enough energy to kill Walt.
@Pokaay why did he have his gun out then?
@AHP I dont think he was thinking about or caring about what happened to walt at all. why would he expend that much energy in his dying moments for such a fool? There was no conscious thought to “spare or kill” walter. just to spend the rest of that time left in peace.
I think he spared Walt because he knew that Walt would suffer more alive than dead.
@ssss when was it confirmed that she ended up receiving the $, Jesse used all he had to get to Alaska
Whenever you feel useless, just remember they had a hairstylist on scene for this show.
You should. At least she’s getting paid 😂
@Al Nobleman well youve got a stroke before reading that
@Kotak 🤓
well tbf they did have beards ..
@Al Nobleman Me too
I’ll always be impressed with how fast he got out of that car.
@Boomp LMAO
Pure adrenaline.
Thought you said shuttered outta there for a sec.
Slithered out of there
For me the saddest part is Walt following Mike and trying to apologise.
Even in Mike’s last moments peacefully contemplating the end and looking over the beautiful view, Walt ruins the moment thinking about his own ego.
Mike’s response is perfect.
@Jason Voorhees You people idolizing and looking up to people like Walt are so cringey and yet you think it's the coolest thing ever 😂
@Digbert Nelson unnecessary
@Mr62Lincoln ok...
I think Mike really cared for Jessie, unlike Walt that always manipulated him and then made amends only because of the guilt
Walt was in the entire mess with fring and Mike because he refused to betray Jessie and ran down those dealers. Which is what started the whole thing
Didn't Walter save Jessie's life at the price of his own though?
@Stexex it did for me too. Only ran downhill faster from here.
This scene really made me hate Walt
jessie is the only guy walt cares about in this whole thing
What's even more disturbing is knowing after Mike died, Walter had to drag is corpse back up, stuff him in the trunk, hope to not get pulled over by police, and in the next episode, with todd, dissolved him in acid, with 0 remorse for what he'd done.
@ResterminadorIts what Nacho's father had said. Everyone in the crime industry has their deluded sense of justice.
@Chimkinnuggers2888 it's in the beginning of the next episode
He clearly felt remorse.
@Haze Abysmal wrong lol he did have remorse it’s literally the reason he tried talking to him after he shot the guy
God I love 2:12 shot. The way the sinister music starts as Walt reenters the scene with murderous intent. Like the boogeyman coming to claim his victim.
Bravak Vinbama
“Put your gun away Waltuh… I’m not dying in peace right now Waltuh.”
Truly one of the quotes of all time 😭🥲
@cole21 .
@HYDE pause
@yigit1178 🤡
Stop.
I cannot laugh anymore.
@Centro Fingerin' Time*
Underrated part of this scene:
Walter: I just can’t just up and leave like you Mike. I have a family. I have people that depend on me.
Mike: *clicks lips* yeah…
Walter is so self centered he doesn’t even think that maybe Mike is leaving something behind too. That maybe people depend on him as well.
The more your watch Better Cal Saul, the more you realize how 100% right Mike was in telling Walt he ruined everything
@sraffsohma123 he refused because they were "kindly" offering him money that belongs to him and he was tired of depending on other people , he didn't want them to be the good guys of the story , and him to be the guy who failed everything in his life
@Al good point
@Alejandro Quinones So why did he save Jesse from those gang members? He spoiled his entire career for Jesse. without it, no problem
@julian marx I agree but that's not how the real world works, sometimes you aren't dealt the best hand. You gotta deal with what you have.
this scene never fails to make me cry. i keep thinking how stacey and kaylee eventually found out about mike's drug business and all the other things he did. but he was still a good man and was really doing it all for his family. it's heartbreaking that mike's story ended this way
@LARA maybe a universe where Mike stood being a clean cop and where Walt never had cancer lol
Don’t worry the actor is fine lol
Dude, just no my dude. Mike wasn’t even remotely a good man, he could have easily stopped doing what he did but actively chose not to. He could have chosen any other job besides being a hit man for the cartel but chose not to. In what universe is mike a good person bro? 🤨
@Walrus5 oh, alright. Sadly I think it will be like 6 months for season 6 to be available.
Mike could have killed Walt but you could tell he was just so tired of all the fighting and death. He rather have a peaceful death than get revenge and that perfectly sums up who Mike was as a character... Such a powerful scene
@Brian Merritt Yup
It's better for his granddaughter if he disappears and lets Walt win than to kill Walt and 2 rotting corpses with drugs and cash in their trunks get found by the police.
@Hayden Lau Are you blind? Man had a gun, also had the jump on walt, was also a far better killer.
@Hayden Lau he had a 45 in the scene after this
How could he have killed Walt with no gun and wearing a bullet inside his chest?
This scene is immaculate but I always love how Mike just forgets that the conflict started because Jesse wanted to kill those drug dealers.
I love the part where Mike said “shut up and let me break bad in peace”
😂
The mere fact that this episode is called “Waltuh shoots Finger” is honestly the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen Bravo Vince!
@Spooon Pro yes
the fact that Walter actually reached a level that he killed a man just because he was annoying him is crazy .... greatest show
@Atlas Marvel child
Sopranos is the goat
lol watch the sopranos
Walt was definitely thinking of that time Mike beat him up at a bar lol.
Walt became the GTA Player he first watched get almost busted by Hank
His last moments really get to me. Mike had a very miserable life but did everything he could for the people he cared about. His son being murdered and then entering a life a crime, you can tell he knew his life wasn't going to end well. 2:10 I can’t get over how good this shot is
@Jakob Yarns 2:23 is a great shot too.
@Crystal Starr the combination is what I meant ig
The music when he walks back
This is by far the most needless kill I've seen in the whole series, I'd seen walt being stupid several times in the series but couldn't believe he stooped this low and straight up shot Mike just because he refused a demand!
i liked mike. i agree. this was the worst death on the show besides andrea.
Ikr Mike was such a good character 🥺
A demand he didn’t even need to make because of Lydia. Makes it even more sad/needless
the look of suffering but also of "I couldn't say goodbye for the last time to my granddaughter"
@pilkers2 nope
@Mayonnaise not until el Camino
@pilkers2 dude we knew that about mike for a while
@Mayonnaise kinda does, the same place Jessie decided he wanted out is the same place Mike couldn’t get past
@pilkers2 he didn’t though? Just because he died in that same place doesn’t make it any deeper
Mike is usually good at predicting anything around confrontation. The fact that even he didn’t expect Walter to do this is extremely sad.
@Shea Roberts literally jessie and even mike covered the death of a child, they're not any different from walter.
@Gp-15 /4 - A man who has nothing to lose usually means that he's extremely dangerous if you’re impeding or bystanding it.
@Shea Roberts The child was a part of a strategy at least. Walt didn't have to kill Mike at all, like he later admitted he could have just went to Lydia for the names
@pokeman5000 i never thought of that, he literally could have gave that money back to himself though walt jrs charity and never did
@Shea Roberts depends on for what Eason you call it pathetic. Poisoning the child was a completely genius move that led to the fall of a guy who we thought was invincible in Gus.
Mike literally died all bc he bruised Walt’s ego beyond repair while simultaneously staying loyal to his guys. Respect
No matter the circumstances of his death, "Shut the f*ck up and let me die in peace" were always sure to have been Mike's final words.
I love how Walt knew the one phrase that would get Mike to turn back. Saying “you’re welcome” really grinder his gears
"Shut the ****** up and let me die in peace." Absolute legend.
Strangely poetic and sad
Based
wombunktules Yeah, but still, bleeping things is just more mature.
@cloudzol if you don't want to be shadow banned by youtube you do.
legend? someone didnt watch better call saul.
this was coming to him from the start
The way the music hits when Walter starts walking back towards Mike gives me chills
Bruh
I immediately teared up as I was not expecting Mike to die in the hands of Walter White.
Bro really killed him because he lost the argument
💀
Tiktok moment
@Sub Zero oh it starts with walt? Like that time jessie tried to kill thise two drug dealers and started stealing from the lab? Yeah, yeah poor jessie didn't do anything wrong.
@FBadge tell me when my dear leftist hahaha
lol why didnt mike answer the question? , get yourself followed by the DEA... ...and now suddenly, this is all my fault? - Why don't you walk me through this?
A lot of people got this all wrong. He clearly took the gun out before he even showed up. He was planning to kill mike or not based on whether he gave up the names.
Man Walter White is such an amazing character. He said "You're welcome" because he knew Mike would be ticked off.
That is Heisenberg, not Walter White.
This show is the best thing that happened to the bald community
Not even a meme, just facts
This and Andrew Tate
What about Fast and Furious?
In the end, there can only be 1 bald dude
Have you not heard of Asmongold?
“I just realized that Lydia has the names, I can get them from her!!” No Walt, you knew that beforehand, you just wanted a reason to do what you did!!
it seems so redundant to have even said that to Mike. He doesn't care anymore, he's dying. Walt was just mocking him at that point.
Wrong
People really forget that Jesse was responsible for all of this and Walter was fine with working under gus. The whole pride and ego thing is really overstated. Gus and Mike tried to kill Walt so it was self defence
Yes, in this part of the script, Walt really could've said something to refute Mike's point, but in this scene his character just had to have the final reasonable word
if you forget that Mike kept defending Gus, who threatened to kill Walter's family
Mike didn't take his chance to kill him. He already knew Walter is a sensitive guy.
Walt's reasons for saving Jesse again come from pride. He didn't care that the dealers used kids or even about Jesse beyond the scope of his use for him. Just like Mike said, he wanted to be the man, and wouldn't abide Gus being in control over him or his domain
that is very true
we as audience knew walter was fine but walter thought him and his family might be in danger :/
My favorite part is where Walter pulled his Walther revolver out then screamed out “It’s Waltin’ Time!” n just started walting all over the place in a revolving motion
This scene perfectly illustrates how much of a monster Walt became
Mike saying “if you’d done your job, known your place, and didnt breaking bad, we’d all be fine by now” to Walter hit different
The writers decided to kill off the most likeable character with a great background story, seconds before he could leave the show peacefully...
Only to show how much of a merciless, messed up thug the main character became. It still hits deep after all those years.
Uh Speak for Yourself I didn’t Even like Mike
@Big Dawg Jesse is not very intelligent
He was just a few hours until retirement...
this is also the same for Hank aswell
@jellyjimbelly Thats true Walter Loses his family and ends up dying, Saul i haven t watch Better call Saul but i know that its a time that he is in jail, Mike ends up dying, Gus ends up dying, Jesse ends up Alive, but his two girlfriends died
The most saddest scene in my opinion. Watching BCS, I couldn’t help but blissfully deny this happened.
Right after Mike said "it's Morphin time" , morphed into a dolphin and swam into the sunset on the lake was when I absolutely lost it 😭 great scene
"Oh lmao my fault man. Just realized your death was unnecessary. Life's crazy, right? 🤪"
"Bro it was a prank, take it easy"
@Lucas Grey mike is an old boomer. He’s not jack
@NobodyHarder your whole rant got shut down by a fact lol
@NobodyHarder ironic how your the one saying "you guys do so much mental gymnastics to bend facts"
@NobodyHarder You do realize mike was a war vet, right?
@David Smith No I think that opening scene takes place months before el Camino starts. It's from the show if I remember correctly but from Jesse's POV
I remember Mike saying that Walt is a tiking time bomb. This scene is a perfect demonstration of that analogy !!
Mike literally had a flash back of 6 seasons of Better Call Saul and we didn’t even know it
if this scene didn't make you hate Walter I don't know what will
Can we just talk about how quick mikes reflexes are. As soon as he gets shot he tries to take off. Now if only someone can do that in a horror movie lol
Mike is the embodiment of the saying "beware of a poopoo in a urinal where a peepee would suffice."
@Pseudotaku To be killed when you're involved in a shady business like this, is not that random...
@0 1 that’s type two very fit people can still be diagnosed with type 1
No
@0 1 TIL you can develop type 1 diabetes through sedentarism
lmfao
I love how in the last season we have Mike Who Is the opposite of Walt and in a certain way Is what Walt think about himself ( a righteous man Who did what he did for the family) and we have Todd who Is the opposite of Jessie ( a dangerous psychopath with 0 empathy ). Both protagonists in the final season have to face off they' re worst enemies : themselves.
Even after letting Jane die, having Gale killed and poisoning Brock, this made me the most angry at Walt
I still remember the first time I saw Walter walk back into frame. His movement and posture were so intentional, so furious. I immediately knew what was coming.
badass until his last moments. legend
Arguably the most evil thing Walt’s done. At least when he poisoned brock it was a calculated decision when he had his back up against the wall. Here he just shot mike because he hurt his feelings
“You could’ve made as much money as you NEEDED” that’s the biggest line in this to me Walt only needed 600k but his greed and ego couldn’t stop there
And Mike had 200k to care for Kaylee, had already gotten them a house, but chose to get in deep with Fring, sell his soul, and lose his family entirely. Mike hates Walt because Mike knows on some level they're the same person.
@Berkay speak for yourself
Mike figured everything Walt did was because he liked it.
This show is great in the sense that everyone is a bad guy so its really hard to feel bad about deaths.
Except Hank.
one of the scenes that made me emotional the most, the part where mike's staring at the river makes me sad knowing he's counting his last seconds and he had good things to look out for. i didn't like walt due to his countless manipulation moments but this scene grows my hatred even more because it could've been avoided if he wasn't so angry about the truth.
He’s got a family and people who depend on him. He can’t just leave.
I wish we could of seen Stacey’s and Kaylee’s reactions to all this. Learning who mike really was and what type of work he did, then learning he was killed
Mike wasn't scared of Walter at all, but Mike underestimated Walter, because of how unpredictable Walter can be.
@Amit Mike's argument was wrong tho
Literally everyone underestimated Walter
@hello man wrong. Mike clearly said he enjoys his job in season 3 episode 4. He was in the game because he liked the thrill, just like Walter. Money was secondary to them
That’s why his name is Heisenberg.
Goes for everyone who dealt with him
that little 'tug of war' with the duffle bag of money was the perfect distraction from the gun not being in the bag.
The way Walter just went up and shot him was so funny lol
The blood that splats on the car seat when mike is shot symbolizes Mikes trust in Walter leaving his body. This is evident because by Mikes tone earlier it sounded like he disliked Walter. Amazing writing! Bravo Vince!
This seen haunts me even years after the show ended. Mike didn’t deserve to go that way especially after everything he’s done to Walter.
Waltuh was shut even by an agonizing man, truly one of the moments ever.
The moment Walt realized Mike was right about him ruining everything is wild. His face says it all
It was Jessie that ruined it all
Yes, this is the exact moment that happened.
@J.D'S ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY REVIEWER. he absolutely was. Watch the show again.
Love how Walter always looks like a confused grandpa
The best series ever to grace the screens. I’ve watched it all 4 times in 2 years it’s that good. Pity Walter was killed, I think it would have been a fab continuation had he lived.
It was so difficult to watch mike in better call saul knowing what eventually happens to him 💔
It's funny how Walt gives Mike an amused look after he just shot him, as if he didn't know what he was doing.
@Boss Nass ikr, Walt was the true antagonist of Breaking Bad.
He looks fearful to me. Like a child who broke something in a tantrum out of retaliation, and immediately realized what he did.
I love how you see the escalation of emotion in Walt's face the very moment Mike pointed out that Walt's ego is massive.
Walter doing that angry little walk after mike told him off had me dying
Ok
It reminds me of my grandma when she'd get angry with me back then 🤣
@The Orange Oof I don't use reddit, though.
@HYDEYou could r/woosh it off
The Hal walk
The fact Mike ends up killed by the one person he completely dismissed from the get-go is the perfect irony
This scene hits different after watching Better Call Saul. Mike told Saul word for word “that amateur is going to Break Bad, and when the Bad is Broken, there is no Unbreaking the Bad. Remember I said these exact words when the Bad is going to Break all around us Goodman. Anyway, you wanna go get some Cinnabon?”
When you come back and watch this scene you really can tell Mike is staring into the distance really upset he didn’t get to have that last Cinnabon.
The little wimp cough after screaming confidently “You’re welcome”! Always gets me lol.
God this show is just on a whole other level
Walter is a good guy deep down. He loved Mike but in a wrong way. RIP.
Mike was always right about Walt, he's like a time bomb, always ticking to explode
@Alexei Harp Walt was never going to be satisfied. It was never about the money, it was about him having an empire. If it was about the money, he would've taken the money from big ears at the beginning of the show. But as Mike said, Walt's pride and ego caused his downfall, as well as everyone associated with him.
ding ding ding ding ding AHHHH *BOOM*
@Azumarill con Gafas walt only kept it because deep down he wanted to be caught…
@Alexei Harp until Hank found that one evidence... That Walter keep bc of his ego
Yes and no, Walt showed that he could run this business and leave it when he was satisfied with the amount of money earned was sufficient. Through horrible ways yes but still. Walt had retired for good from crime/empire business until Hank found that one evidence.
I love how disgusted Mike looked when he said “YOU, and your pride and your ego!” 😂😂
