One of the first looping rollercoasters I ever rode, the summer after third grade. I was EXACTLY the right height. When I rode, I got in the train car and then an attendant made me get out so they could measure me, and everyone in the train clapped when I turned out to be the right height
Wow, I'm impressed that the camera made Viper look smooth! But really, this ride is a GEM! I think it's on its last legs though, and will be replaced in the next five years by maybe an S&S ride, which would be fitting, since they bought out Ron Toomer's Arrow Dynamics.
I love the combination of your top notch camera work and your "whee's". I can hear the fun you have. Makes me feel like I'm riding a seat behind you (would love to though, you and your fam seem like super nice, kind and just friendly people).
My most anticipated coaster on my big west coast trip from the UK next year. I need to ride this so bad! I was so close in 2020..2021..2022. Still I am booked and I hope this classic holds on a little longer.
As a veteran of this ride, I suggest to keep your head forward during the first loop. By the way, X² in pure insanity, and Tatsu's Pretzel Loop is incredibly fun (for me). Batman is an extremely intense ride. Have fun at Magic Mountain!
I love how this one stands out as like the roughest ride at SFMM because it’s surrounded by better coasters! Meanwhile over at SFDL we have a similar, though smaller Viper, and it’s actually one of the better coasters there , just because there are so many worse coasters in that park 😂.
I was watching this with my 3 year old daughter and noticed your harness was not clicked all the way down!! Im really glad nothing happened because I was nervous watching this. The ride looks really fun!!
I love this ride and I’m very glad Magic Mountain has maintained it rather than scrap it but I just wish they’d update the restraints and go with vest-like ones. It’d probably make this ride 1000 times better.
Being tall enough to comfortably avoid headbanging, it's still an incredibly solid ride when that discomfort isn't a factor. New trains would definitely help improve the ride for most people, though.
Hopefully with a lengthy refurbishment, along with new Vekoma trains. There are plenty of opportunities for Magic Mountain to completely refurbish Viper.
As a 90's kid, viper was THE coaster everyone was talking about. This coaster is legendary. As the last of the mega Loopers, I really hope that they refurbish it instead of removing it. Especially since the demon will almost certainly be headed to the scrap yard when great America closes 😥
While I've never been on Viper, I have been on one of the others like it, Shockwave at Six Flags Great America. It was one of my favorites before it was demolished.
I remember back in early July of this year, waiting in line for X2, I see Viper going down it's batwing element, and all of a sudden, I hear someone go "wheeeeee", and I'm like, "is that the theme park review guy?" I think I was right...
Aww man I wish I could have seen ya, I’ve been a huge fan of you for a long time, I went here for the first time 3 days ago hoping to see ya here, also the fact I’ve watched so many videos from you to get through the fear of roller coasters
You guys are easily the best theme park channel on KZclip. I've tried watching other channels and about 90% of them are just complete and total shaking. But you guys always have super steady and high quality videos. Keep up the good work!
This ride deserves a complete retrack from vekoma. Keep this thing going as it's historic. A retrack would give it a smooth ride but a vintage feel either the shapes of the loops. It also seems smooth why nit get some new vekoma comfort collar trains for it? It would make it like a new ride
Thank you for this, I have a heart condition and I can’t go to any theme parks this year and I’m devastated, this is nice to watch as I was supposed to go this Sunday
Just rode it last week. Is it recommended to keep your head back against the headrest on this and X2 for a smoother experience? I kept my head forward, but it wasn’t that smooth. My head really got a walloping on the last raven turn on X2… not very fun!
That track needs a new red paint job! I'm surprised at how smooth the curve transitions are since it being a Arrow Dynamics custom looper. The majority of their coasters were rough in their banked curved transitions, causing side whiplashing.
I'm surprised how smooth the ride looks in this video. Old Arrow Dynamics coasters don't exactly have the reputation for being the most comfortable rides
No, its a horribly rough ride. The camera has self stabilization. And 3rd, Magic Mountain has very rough rides thanks to them doing the absolute bear minimum
The first Coaster I ever road at Six Flags! My first (LuDiCrOuSlY) Looping Coaster! And, my first Coaster over 79 Feet Tall... if you get my meaning...
Seaworld in Queensland had the Viper Rollercoaster formally known as the Corkscrew no longer there they knocked it down and replace it with another Rollercoaster called The Storm Coaster
All seven ludicrous loops luxuriously laid lengthwise letting leverage lead longevity loosely... Dang... Ran out of L words. I love the super close giant run up loop right next to the lift hill. Foreboding.
I'm more concerned for the restraint the guy is using. it looks a bit loose. I've ridden Viper numerous times over the last 30yrs and I don't think it's supposed to be that loose and moveable like that.
The snake's head (along with its visible windpipe) at the entrance looks a lot like a King Cobra with added horns and Cobras are NOT vipers. They are elapids.
Don’t get rid of it, no matter how old it is, when Alton Towers got rid of the original corkscrew it was a travesty. I don’t know why only wooden coasters get love for antiquity
It will be a sad day when if this leaves the park, and considering Arrow Custom loopers are becoming harder to come by, I hope it gets sold instead to a smaller park like Silverwood or something. As much as most coaster fans like to rag on Arrow rides, they hold a special place in our hearts!
2pac been on this it’s been a long time sence you guys been on rides like your Superman escape from krypton video I saw filmed 11 years ago I was 1 years old
Dark Helmet says Ludicrous Loops Go!!! What Have I Done. What I'm saying this is Fun!!!!
One of the first looping rollercoasters I ever rode, the summer after third grade. I was EXACTLY the right height. When I rode, I got in the train car and then an attendant made me get out so they could measure me, and everyone in the train clapped when I turned out to be the right height
i live near busch gardens so it will most likely be nessie, tempesto, or pantheon
something similar but it was on full throttle.
@xygomorphic44 yep, really happened ^^
A real "and everybody clapped" story?
This is my mom's first looping roller coaster was this.
Still one of my favorite rides. I don't know how long this one will last but holy shit the memories.
I thought this coaster was slightly painful but would always ride again!! So fun. Rode in 2013.
This, along with Ninja and Tatsu, was the highlight of the entire roller coaster vacation I took as a kid with my folks. Long Live Arrow Dynamics!!
Wow, I'm impressed that the camera made Viper look smooth! But really, this ride is a GEM! I think it's on its last legs though, and will be replaced in the next five years by maybe an S&S ride, which would be fitting, since they bought out Ron Toomer's Arrow Dynamics.
We need a large Intamin multi looping launch in its place or maybe a newer Vekoma model!!
I love the combination of your top notch camera work and your "whee's". I can hear the fun you have. Makes me feel like I'm riding a seat behind you (would love to though, you and your fam seem like super nice, kind and just friendly people).
@Theme Park Review how tall are you I’m just wondering if I’m too tall for roller coasters I’m 6 foot 5
@Theme Park Review Amazing video. which camera are you filming?
Thank you!

Nice smooth POV, and at high quality, keep it up!
Definitely the best video of Viper i've seen. I live in Australia, great to experience such a classic coaster.
Brilliant POV and commentary, can't believe Viper is over 30!
I love how this one stands out as like the roughest ride at SFMM because it’s surrounded by better coasters!
Meanwhile over at SFDL we have a similar, though smaller Viper, and it’s actually one of the better coasters there , just because there are so many worse coasters in that park 😂.
Appreciate the sideways view! I love doing that on lovely ludicrous loops... :D
It's such good footage, I can feel my ear drums being punished as we speak. Long live the Arrow looper!
I was watching this with my 3 year old daughter and noticed your harness was not clicked all the way down!! Im really glad nothing happened because I was nervous watching this. The ride looks really fun!!
this is the best warm-up ride at six flags hands down.
I always do Revolution first! Love that coaster and very smooth.
Back seat of viper is probably in my top 3 most intense coaster experiences.
I hope this coaster never shuts down❤️ historical landmark status
This and Magnum are my top 2 arrow coasters. I have a soft spot for those old arrow mega loopers
Arrow Megaloopers may've been a dying breed, but this one (Viper) is STILL A Legend!
Hopefully with a lengthy refurbishment, along with new Vekoma trains. There are plenty of opportunities for Magic Mountain to completely refurbish Viper.

Good to see you still at it, Mr. Alvey.
Keep riding!!!!
LOOONG LIVE THE "SEVEN LUDICROUS LOOPING" STEEL SLITHERER.....VIPER!!!!
Got to ride this legendary coaster for the first time this year! It was a little rough, but still fun!
Little rough? I don't think you understand what 'little' means.
oh hi!!!
Uhmm little rough is a understatement.
“A little”
That camera must have the greatest shock mount known to mankind.
It’s a GoPro with HyperSmooth stabilization that’s all.
Well, it’s about time you posted a video of this awesome iconic classic!!! Thank you 😊
This is probably the closest to what the coaster from Final Destination 3 would have looked like.
While I've never been on Viper, I have been on one of the others like it, Shockwave at Six Flags Great America. It was one of my favorites before it was demolished.
Great ride. Classic.
I remember back in early July of this year, waiting in line for X2, I see Viper going down it's batwing element, and all of a sudden, I hear someone go "wheeeeee", and I'm like, "is that the theme park review guy?" I think I was right...
I rode this back in 2002. First rollercoaster of the day. Seems remarkably smooth for an arrow looper.
Keep up the good work! Also if you do see this, thanks for all the fun memories!
I love your videos!!!!! Keep it up! Hello from Louisiana!
Yessir, Louisiana coaster enthusiasts where yall at? From Baton Rouge to New Orleans to Shreveport and between.
Aww man I wish I could have seen ya, I’ve been a huge fan of you for a long time, I went here for the first time 3 days ago hoping to see ya here, also the fact I’ve watched so many videos from you to get through the fear of roller coasters
I hope I get to ride this before it's gone. I loved Vortex at KI
I remember going to this when it opened, the lines were insane.
You guys are easily the best theme park channel on KZclip. I've tried watching other channels and about 90% of them are just complete and total shaking. But you guys always have super steady and high quality videos. Keep up the good work!
MayPaMasane or whatever is awesome too.
Thank you! 😍
Great POV o this one of a kind Mega Looper from Arrow Dynamics.
Viper needs a definite repaint. This used to be a vibrant red to the track.
This ride deserves a complete retrack from vekoma. Keep this thing going as it's historic. A retrack would give it a smooth ride but a vintage feel either the shapes of the loops. It also seems smooth why nit get some new vekoma comfort collar trains for it? It would make it like a new ride
The commentary makes this already lengendary ride worlds better.
Thank you for this, I have a heart condition and I can’t go to any theme parks this year and I’m devastated, this is nice to watch as I was supposed to go this Sunday
Have you gone on Enchanted Kingdom before? It's a popular amusement park in the philippines. It'd be cool if you could visit it sometime!
Just rode it last week. Is it recommended to keep your head back against the headrest on this and X2 for a smoother experience? I kept my head forward, but it wasn’t that smooth. My head really got a walloping on the last raven turn on X2… not very fun!

I'm surprised at how smooth the curve transitions are since it being a Arrow Dynamics custom looper. The majority of their coasters were rough in their banked curved transitions, causing side whiplashing.
Shockwave and Great American Scream Machine bit the dust. But Viper, a true legend.
Viper is still standing!
i know there's a lot of hate for viper but i still get on it every time i go to magic mountain. i think it's great
Hope it stays around for a long time!
I'm surprised how smooth the ride looks in this video. Old Arrow Dynamics coasters don't exactly have the reputation for being the most comfortable rides
@PositiveG these are also smaller rides tbf, Viper is massive and really only has 3 significantly rough areas, despite how long the length is
@Troyzfn Carolina Cyclone, Vortex, Loch Ness Monster, Corkscrew CP & MI are all better
@PositiveG have you ridden other arrow loopers? besides Tennessee tornado at dollywood, most arrow loopers are significantly rougher than viper
No, its a horribly rough ride. The camera has self stabilization. And 3rd, Magic Mountain has very rough rides thanks to them doing the absolute bear minimum
Magic mountain takes really good care of it
Great coaster and you guys look great
0:55
"oh crap here we go, get ready for it!"
one of the guys in the back: " *Not ready for it* "
A friend of mine rode every new coaster that MM added. Including Viper. That was our last one. Too much.
The first Coaster I ever road at Six Flags!
My first (LuDiCrOuSlY) Looping Coaster!
And, my first Coaster over 79 Feet Tall... if you get my meaning...
Was only able to ride the great American scream machine in 2009-2010 what a ride
Either Intamin or B&M must make hyper (giga) coasters a reality!🎢🎢🌇🌇
What a fun video!
Love Viper SFMM ❤🔥
Corkscrew Coaster 1 was great!
All hands LUDICROUS SPEED!!!
hope S&S keeps this ride going with some DLC-TLC down the line to hopefully extend it's service life
Seaworld in Queensland had the Viper Rollercoaster formally known as the Corkscrew no longer there they knocked it down and replace it with another Rollercoaster called The Storm Coaster
I can't get on this ride without leaving with a headache unfortunately...
🔥🔥🔥😍
Were you the only 2 on the roller coaster because, it looked like it? Scary! Really enjoyed your video!
@Theme Park Review cool!
Yes. We filmed this before the park opened to the public.
All seven ludicrous loops luxuriously laid lengthwise letting leverage lead longevity loosely... Dang... Ran out of L words. I love the super close giant run up loop right next to the lift hill. Foreboding.

The last surviving sister of the three 7 inversion arrows.
The snake's head (along with its visible windpipe) at the entrance looks a lot like a King Cobra with added horns and Cobras are NOT vipers. They are elapids.
can you try visiting Knott's Berry Farm again, please?
Sure! We were just there last year, although we couldn't film on that visit. Hopefully maybe next time.
The count will be so very proud.
Bro if you go to SFMM ( Six Flags Magic Mountain) You need to ride Twisted Colossus and X2!
Just ludicrous... Ludicrous... Ludicrous.... Ludicrous.... How many is that😂
This ride is assault forsure.
Seven Ludicrous Loops and One Massive Headache afterwards...
😍😍😍
Don’t get rid of it, no matter how old it is, when Alton Towers got rid of the original corkscrew it was a travesty. I don’t know why only wooden coasters get love for antiquity
Top 3 at magic mountain!
It will be a sad day when if this leaves the park, and considering Arrow Custom loopers are becoming harder to come by, I hope it gets sold instead to a smaller park like Silverwood or something. As much as most coaster fans like to rag on Arrow rides, they hold a special place in our hearts!
Geez those have Big grab handles for over the shoulder restraints
Double loop, nice.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💙🤗
LUDICROUS LOOOOOPS!
They reused the logo at Viper at SFOG lol. Classic six flags
There was one of these at my home park
Viper is so scary ride coaster.
Where was this located?
Viper is begging for a repaint. That red paint job keeps fading away in the hot California sun.
Hello sir , goods afternoon thanks for the updates
Probably close to 100 times with you lol
I went on it and I hit my head on the strap so bad
Robb I am your biggest fan! Can you please come to my home park, which is cedar point, and ride all 16 coasters?
@Theme Park Review also your channel is awesome
ii_Strawbear your brave
ii_Strawbear oof even though you got bruises you still had a fun time
Sure.
Love from India.
Rất tuyệt vời. Kênh video rất hay. Chúc bạn sức khoẻ và phát triển kênh thành công. Đã ủng hộ kênh bạn hiền .
I'm going to six flags magic mountain in early December
This roller coaster is in the movie space cowboys
2pac been on this it’s been a long time sence you guys been on rides like your Superman escape from krypton video I saw filmed 11 years ago I was 1 years old
appears to have the 1990 paint job.
