My husband and I are trying to build out of two shipping containers. It's a very hard slow process, when you don't really have the funds. But when you do have the funds the time is not there. So it a long haul for us but we are going to do it. It's our dream. And God is helping us along the way. And we love it.
Yes I heard a BBC radio reporter during the World Cup say that the individual hotel bedrooms in Qatar that he stayed in were basically hundreds and hundreds of containers, beautifully fitted out as fully modular bedrooms with toilet & shower, and were evidently very nice (although fairly expensive rates…) 👍
Love your video, I've been interested in the container home's. I look forward to more videos and future projects. All the best and thanks so much for sharing. Love to your fur babies too 🐾🐾
Very well said, we can learn and make our life happier than ever. Thanks for encouragement and off course your simplicity while explaining your simple yet important happy project. keep it up..
highly practical, economical, brilliantly designed well thought tiny home, u all did a superb job, and I would surely consider buying one in the near future, absolutely love it, thanks highly for sharing.
I think this is a very cool video and you are very down to earth and that’s a good thing. And it just goes to show that living in a shipping container can be quite nice
Enjoyed the video of your container home. Looking forward to watching more and learning more. I'd like to build a container home someday and east Texas is where I would like it to be. 👍👍
I really enjoyed your Container Home video. I'm thinking about the same kind of living. So "thank you" for the tour of your lovely home. Where did you buy your container if I might ask? Did you build it out yourself or did you purchase it already built out? Sorry for all the questions. I have been watching lots of container videos. Your video was very easy to understand and you helped me make up my mind about "Container Tiny Home living" I'm Ms. J and I am new to your channel. Looking forward to watching your container home journey. Be Blessed and Happy New Year. Ms. J
I love your home! Cozy and compfy looking! I'd enclose a porch screen, in, all weather porch. Cover porch for vehicle pine tar and stuff will eat paint off your vehicle
the higher rent goes up the more this option looks appealing! at 1:51 I was wondering why they didn't put the couch on the back wall and they can have a longer couch . There must be a good reason! I hope I can buy one of these one day to have and have it fixed up nicely~ Great home.
Thank you, we like it. The reason we put the couch like that was because it made the living room area feel like a separate room without a wall. We may try putting it along the wall at a later date though.
Great video. Looks like you have a very nice set up. You might find my Container cabin of interest. I have now been enjoying it for more that 15 years. You are on the right path, good luck with all your projects. Okanogan Forest Channel
Good for y'all Your home is great. I get it about wanting simple, peaceful, & quiet. I wonder if y'all couldn't drill a well. You didn't talk about your utilities, only the TV ;-) I sure don't get how someone could say a Container build w/b unsustainable. As a country we get s--t tons of them from all of the incoming shipments from China. We've gotta do something with them, right? Then the rest of the things are choices one makes with each home, regardless what the structure is made out of. I doubt your TVs take a whole lot of juice. When I got my TV it had a sticker on it saying they estimated the cost to run it was like $11 for a whole year. So if I happen to use it twice as much as they figure it'd cost me a whopping $22 for a whole freaking year. LOL!!!! Maybe solar could actually work for you.
Wow!!! I am a new follower of your channel. I also want to do something like this. There is one thing I am afraid of. Can something that has been transported in this container when it was used make a person sick afterwards? Greetings from Sweden
Hi neighbor! Im in LInden (east Texas) and building out a 40' high boy. Im putting in the high-end cabinets, and wood floor to go... then finished. Ive got 2 wells, off grid entirely, 20kW lithium battery bank/ solar, propane for instant hot water heater and stove. I travel through gilmer from my city house in DFW on a weekly basis. Do you have a way to talk off here?
Where can you purchase these shipping containers already built out? I would love to know because I am thinking of doing the same. So so tired of city life and want a more simplistic way of life
It's a neatly designed house; but, if I were seeking to buy a house or rent an apartment, I would really prefer bigger apartment or house, especially if I were going to be living in with my chosen mate, but really, I would prefer a bigger house or apartment more like a regular size house or apartment with more room in to be able to move around in moreso comfortably rather than an apartment or house that's called tiny or small house or apartment that I can't move around in so freely and or not as comfortable for space of my own in the place although I love my mate very much; it's important that I have some space of my own privacy to do in sometimes respectfully and the same for my mate; although I could live in a small house or tiny house just fine to make nice and neat and cozy for myself or for me and my mate if I had one I prefer bigger housing called regular size housing; plus, I wouldn't want to live way out in the boondocks far away from stores and other places that I may need a car to get too for my wants and needs could be very costy and or lot of time and or pay for to get to places if have a car or not have a car, soooooo, I'd rather live in the city on a beautiful street and or peaceful and or beautiful area of which are natural living peacefully and or beautifully in the city that way also if I didn't have the money to buy a vehicle and or to pay for gas, I could walk to places living in the city to get my wants and needs and or I could take the not expensive listed as public transportation, bus/es and or train/s to get to places for my wants and needs.↗👌
No, we are hooked to local co-op water and an electric company. I would love to drill a well and set up solar power, but as of now we haven't done that.
Yes Si my friend, I want too do something like that but in COSTA RICA PURA VIDA BEAUTIFUL place get some land in north CR and make it like it was tropical we need it, pond , river trees 🐺🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷B SAFE 🙏
was t to much of a problem to get it set up and get it fix the ay you want it and about how much in all for the Container and are you going to add on to it ??
No, it wasn't much trouble to get it set up. We are talking about adding another one in the future but we are finding this may actually be plenty of room for us and leave it the way it is. We will see
All the wild animals you have around your place with kill every animal that you have and it will also kill you. Hogs will attack you a bobcat will attack you amd your chickens so you need to get a fence or something around your chickens I feel bad about your dogs.
@LuckyStar Acres don't mean to be rude it's just that as a carpenter I think about the limitations of this building method, I'm glad you love your home
Congratulations! I just bought my first container and hope to make it as beautiful as yours! Thanks for sharing your story.
Good luck!!
What a beautiful environment. A lovely build.

I agree. All things are relative to your personal circumstances. I guess 50% of the world would love to have something like this to live in!
Location,location.
I appreciate that!
This is so cool! Thank you for sharing your journey!

Yes (if that’s Texas USA) I guess the weather is pretty good over there?
Im glad you liked the video!

@LuckyStar Acres Thanks for the container info. I will checkout Tankabox. Where are they located? I'm on the westcoast.
Thank you for watching. We purchased it built from Tankabox. I understand having questions, I had a bunch myself.
I love your home! Cozy and compfy looking! I'd enclose a porch screen, in, all weather porch. Cover porch for vehicle pine tar and stuff will eat paint off your vehicle

My personal opinion is research the company your using to make sure you get a quality container.
I love it , such a great , simpe and efficient design!!! And you moved to Gilmer Tx ...YEAH !! My mom is from Gilmer
This is definitely a dream of mine!

Where can you purchase these shipping containers already built out? I would love to know because I am thinking of doing the same. So so tired of city life and want a more simplistic way of life
It depends on where you live. We worked with Tanka Box (6235 TX-21, Nacogdoches, TX 75961). I hope that helps you
Did you get this container already with that floor plan? Or did you construct your own floor plan and do it yourself?
There was a basic floor plan, but we worked with the builder and changed things to how we wanted them.
Who did the build for the shell of the home? (Windows, top deck, etc.) Was it Xcaliber? Thanks!
It was built by Tankabox
Good luck 2 u both!🌻
Thank you!!
very very nice home and very very nice video.
I love this video, it almost convinces me
My wife and I are getting ready to start a container home airbnb.
If you need any advice on the chickens or the bees, let me know.
I will take you up on that, thanks!

I long for the day were people show us how the septic and plumbing rough-in took place
It actually wasn't to bad. The plumbing was run out to the bottom of the house. When the house was set we connected the lines together.
Love your house you didn't show how the pumping is hooked up?
Get some hanging flowers for your bees and hang them out where the sun shines a lot. (Not near the house if you want peace on that deck)
I will do that, thank you.
How do you get water? Do you have a septic system? Is it solar or grid connected?
As of now, we are still on the grid.
Like the concept!
Good for you Sam. I'm envious. Enjoy
Thanks!
$40k, I wish! Here, more like $140k or more.
Did you have this built for you?
