Have you not seen "The Bubble"? He was hilarious! And "Unbearable". I've seen him do other comedy as well. He is a versatile all-around actor who can pretty much do anything!
So it's similar to when Willem Dafoe hosted, only it also has the energy (and trailer for a gritty remake of an innocuous kid property [Sesame Street filtered through "Joker"/Mario Kart filtered through "The Last of Us"]) of the David Harbour episode.
@Elizabeth Jarvie Completely agree and imo, the writers didn’t bring their A-game for Woody. He literally had nothing to work with and he’s in my top 5 all time hosts.
“that’s because you lost 50lbs in the coma” … “yahhhh goood feeer mahhhh” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Pedro Pascal deserves an Emmy nomination. Every skit was A+ when he hosted
@Maximillian Powers no it’s usually SNL who comes up with things. Hosts can definitely have their input though, I’m sure some like to do that more than others.
@Maximillian Powers not really, but they can contribute of course. In this case Pedro said he came up with the voice, he never really said he came up with the idea for the whole sketch. I think the involvement depends on each host.
Similar experience when Aubrey Plaza hosted. The cast and writers need some work when they keep getting outshone so exponentially by guests, but it’s also good to see guests who hold their own.
Pedro was so hysterical in the sketch, and the main reason is because he committed to the character. He is truly an “actor” so he was able to come up with different characters throughout the show and this one was hysterical. It is always hysterical to watch actors break in scenes like this. Love him!
@Paul Leverton Seriously?! You do understand the difference between a live show and filmed material? Let me guess-you`ve never seen the outtakes for any of those FILMED things you listed. SMH
Oldest trick in comedy. If the material is weak, pretend to be struggling not to burst out laughing. Ever notice how the funniest comedy NEVER had performers breaking character to laugh? Ever see Pryor or Wilder laugh in Stir Crazy? What about the actors in Blazing Saddles? The Pythons in Life In Brian? No, because they were professionals with enough faith in their material to not need such amateur tricks.
@HD6113 I think it was "People always gonna do the do, and be the be, and that's the tooth" (people are always gonna do what they do, and be who they are, and that's the truth)
Our family thinks this was one of the best SNL hosts in a very long time! The host picks which skits they will do, so it's extra awesome knowing that Pedro Pascal not only has an incredible sense of humor, but also the acting chops to back it up!
OMG. When Pedro hosted SNL it was one of their funniest shows ever. Pedro is great. So talented. Can do drama and comedy as if he was born to it. Love him!
One of the best in a while. Breaking character with the right people is always great as well. Pedro should win multiple awards somehow for this. SNL glimpse of hope on it's way out, from a hospital bed. He should get an award just for that alone. I miss those constant glimpses over the years of what was.
@Athena Jaxon I loved him in that movie. I wish he would do more comedy. His agent Whiskey fight scene from Kingsman: The Golden Circle is one of my favorites!
I couldn’t breathe I am laughing so hard! 🤣😭🤣 He frickin reminded me of LSP and it made it all the funnier! 🤣☠️🤣 I LOVE PEDRO!!! 😍 He is so funny! I love that he isn’t afraid to be his goofy self! Never change, Pedro!
This is 100% my happy boost...getting ready for work? Watch this. Rough day at work? Watch this. Wanna laugh just because? Watch this. Best skit in ages!!!
Pedro is so entertaining lol anything he touched it turns to gold. Man’s been so unappreciated all these years until just a few years ago and I’m glad he’s getting his recognition
This skit was golden. I have a TBI and this is pretty much how it was like to wake up, only not as funny. I appreciate the humor that Pedro brought here. Sharing to everyone!!!
He also came up with the whole accent thing. He talk about it on a late night show. Now he and the cast of “last of us” will do it for kicks when they are not filming. He and his costars try to keep the mood upbeat off camera because it’s such a dark heavy hitting show.
It's a miracle how Pedro managed to hold it together for so long and then continue the sketch after momentarily breaking. Definitely a highlight from the later seasons. :D
I have no idea how someone even comes up with this but it was hilarious seeing how much fun everyone was having doing it and the Bill Burr part has me rolling
Pedro absolutely killed every skit! It's as if he carried the entire cast. This is a rare instance where the host carries the entire sketch. Pascal kills it!
One of the best SNL skits in a long while. Reminds me of the older 80s/90s skits that were quality. Pedro Pascal absolutely nailed his week of hosting. He made this skit look easy but to maintain that voice with a live studio audience takes real skill. Bravo to this season’s writers and actors!

@northstreet13 lol I was wondering the same thing. Honestly, it seems like a generational thing. I assume this person is older because...have you watched those 80s/90s episodes lately? Of course there is gold there, but on the whole, you can see just HOW MUCH comedy has progressed. Once in a while, it's great to have a stupid sketch where the entire concept is low effort "funny voice" comedy. But it only works these days because it stands out against *better*, more interesting and complex comedy. Half of the funniness is waiting for some explanation or punchline, and finding none. It's an anti-joke, because the lack of punchline or context or greater point just never shows up. And that's funny. But back then, when it was all, "IM GAY, LISTEN TO MY FUNNY VOICE" or anything of the sort and there was no expectation that there was anything else behind it...its fuckin tedious and boring
Do you have a head injury? I can see how this sketch spoke to someone in your condition. I wish you the best in your recovery, hopefully you regain full consciousness soon.
I've watched this so many times and I just realized how weird it is for Charlie's sister to say, "Yeah and that goes double for me," after his wife says, "Charlie, I'm your wife and that's never gonna change, come hell or high water."
This whole skit cracked me up! The fact that he broke character during it as well as another sketch towards the end of the show! You can tell he had a great time!
For those who didn't see him on Seth Meyers' show, Pedro actually brought that accent to SNL. He said he used it on the set of The Last of Us to lighten the mood.
Definitely the best sketch this season! Pedro Pascal ate the entire episode! He was absolutely in the top 5 of all time hosts! In this sketch everyone is great, but he just elevated it!
Pretty sure the writers were trying to piggyback off of the Loudermilk coffee scene… SNL needs to start hiring writers based off of talent again not meeting some social justice checklist
The fact that it was Pedro who came up with this idea makes this skit even better
@R no he doesn't. Pendleton Ward voices Lumpy Space Princess
Does it really make it even better??
He didn’t come up with the skit. The writers asked him if he had any accents.
@RiseAboveHonor Bi- buh!
Vote For Pedro!!!
I love how Pedro is not necessarily a "comedic" actor... but he went ALL IN with his hosting of SNL... Such a fun time!
Oh do ya love that
He made his name in dramas, but dramatic actors tend to be naturals at comedy
Have you not seen "The Bubble"? He was hilarious! And "Unbearable". I've seen him do other comedy as well. He is a versatile all-around actor who can pretty much do anything!
So it's similar to when Willem Dafoe hosted, only it also has the energy (and trailer for a gritty remake of an innocuous kid property [Sesame Street filtered through "Joker"/Mario Kart filtered through "The Last of Us"]) of the David Harbour episode.
Ive seen we can be heroes he can tottaly do comedy
Pedro deserves the Emmy for Guest Actor in A Comedy for this episode. He was so damn good. I hope he hosts many times after this.
@Elizabeth Jarvie Completely agree and imo, the writers didn’t bring their A-game for Woody. He literally had nothing to work with and he’s in my top 5 all time hosts.
And thats the truth! ❤😅
@Billy Lewis they SHOULD be on a mission to be funnier ! Always 😍
Pedro then Woody. SNL is on a mission to increase viewership and I’m glad because we get funny skits back to back to back.
Do guest hosts get Emmys for SNL??? Is that a thing?
“that’s because you lost 50lbs in the coma” … “yahhhh goood feeer mahhhh” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pedro Pascal deserves an Emmy nomination. Every skit was A+ when he hosted
I'm being nitpicky, but the line is, in SoCal speech, "Omagaawwww, goo' fa meehhhh"
@Maximillian Powers no it’s usually SNL who comes up with things. Hosts can definitely have their input though, I’m sure some like to do that more than others.
@Giulia I thought the way it works is that the host of the show comes up with the sketch, or does it with a sort of team.
@Maximillian Powers not really, but they can contribute of course. In this case Pedro said he came up with the voice, he never really said he came up with the idea for the whole sketch. I think the involvement depends on each host.
@Maximillian Powers yes the guest always has creative input.
"SoUndS lIkE sPaNiSh To Meh!" has been stuck in my head, right next to "I'm allergic to dairy".
This episode is an honest classic.
You think l sound LA I love LA...Sama, Sama, Sama... I can speak Spanish
Hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
I say this all the time now, I can’t stop halp
He was hilarious haha
I literally said “Sama Sama Sama Sama” the other day😂😂😂
I love that when Heidi “meets him in the middle” Pedro can’t look at her because he knows he would lose it 😂
This is a rare instance where the host carries the entire sketch. Pascal kills it!
Similar experience when Aubrey Plaza hosted. The cast and writers need some work when they keep getting outshone so exponentially by guests, but it’s also good to see guests who hold their own.

Sketches
@TriforceTyffseriously. Im a huge fan of Pedro but this was obviously centered around his character 😂
He was an exceptional host. One of the best hosts is the last several years.
Pedro is like one of those guys who doesn’t take life seriously but killing everything at the same time. So respectable 😮
No crumbs left!
Pedro was so hysterical in the sketch, and the main reason is because he committed to the character. He is truly an “actor” so he was able to come up with different characters throughout the show and this one was hysterical. It is always hysterical to watch actors break in scenes like this. Love him!
Pedro was one of the BEST guests in a long time. This skit will become a classic.
Pedro said some of the cast talked like that on breaks while filming The Last of Us. It kept them sane during the dark scenes.
Yeah and he came up with the accent himself during rehearsal. He added a lot input with most of the sketches, he definitely does comedy well.
This scene is already absolutely hilarious, but it’s made even 100x better when they break character. I love it.
Heidi trying not to laugh when Pedro was holding her hand was PRICELESS
@Gabriel G yes!
Her face was doing some weird things😂
@Gabriel G Oh definitely! 😃
@Blue Kinopio Came here to say that! So funny.
I love her expressions.
Pedro "cracking himself up" just touched my heart. He is a great performer. His prince oberan character in GOT was my favorite
"Bill Burr"... I have DIIIED. Everything about this sketch killed me lmaooooo🤣
I keep coming back over and over to watch this. That show was SO GOOD! Pedro was amazing in all the sketches!
"Ok let's put a pin in that" My go to line in all situations from now on😂
He really is giving us Lumpy Space Princess realness.
A-tier comment 💯 yesss!!
OH MY GLOB YEEEEES!
I love that pedro tried to keep going but clearly wants to laugh and breaks a bit, god he's having fun and I love it
@Paul Leverton you listed movies where they do take after take. Apples and oranges.
@Paul Leverton Seriously?! You do understand the difference between a live show and filmed material? Let me guess-you`ve never seen the outtakes for any of those FILMED things you listed. SMH
@What? You must be real fun at parties
@dttruman that was epic and the British rappers on update ha
This is one of the funniest sketches I've seen on SNL in a long time. Pascal is so good on this show - I wish he was on it all the time.
You're joking, right?
Crying! Who knew the man was genius at comedy. Watch his timing and when his eyes go to the camera. He is a master of his craft.
I still have a hard time realizing that this is the same guy who played the Mandalorian and Joel after cracking up in an SNL skit
He's real goofy in real life.
He's so funny in every skit omg 😭
I keep watching this over and over. Pedro Pascal kills it!
I love how Pedro almost lost it and started laughing out loud. He's great!
He even made Heidi break, and she NEVER breaks!
@HD6113 I think it was "People always gonna do the do, and be the be, and that's the tooth" (people are always gonna do what they do, and be who they are, and that's the truth)
i couldnyt hold it together!
@HD6113 I haven't been able to understand those few sentences either.
What did he say? "People are always...what?"
I cant make it out.
the way he looks into the camera when he says "I can speak spanish" I'M DEAD
It must be so hard as an actor to start cracking up and have to fight it when the whole audience is laughing harder than before 😂
I almost died when Pedro broke character for a second at the end and started laughing
3:57-4:30 He was holding that laugh in for dear life 🤣
It speaks volumes that Pedro is making the regular cast break character and hide their giggles. Amazing!!!
“he’s the hottest guy i’ve ever seen” charlie gets it 😂
I cried laughing at that
@White Rabbit don't hate, appreciate;)
I can take over for the live filming of The Last of Us Part 2. Pedro, take me under your wing
He is so cute fun lovely
Did it affect his sexuality too? 😄
I loved this one. The accent and I loved how he was trying not to laugh. I love Pedro!!
did you understood everything? after he broke I didn't lol people do the dance? bed the bed? LOL
He is the poster boy for charisma. You either have it or you don't. He does! And what's so neat is that he's so humble.
Love him!

He should get an award just for that alone. I miss those constant glimpses over the years of what was.
god i love seeing pedro acting in lighter roles 😭 he’s already naturally hilarious so it works well
Brad Pitt is another one of those actors that's so attractive they don't get a lot of comedy roles, but is hilarious too.
Even though the movie sucked, he was really good as Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman.
@Athena Jaxon I loved him in that movie. I wish he would do more comedy. His agent Whiskey fight scene from Kingsman: The Golden Circle is one of my favorites!
@thedoneeye possibly "the bubble" if I'm wrong pls correct me lol
I forgot just which one but in some past interview he was quoting lines from 'Airplane!'
Perfect!!!
I KNEW the way he was talking reminded me of something else but couldn't put my finger on it!
Pedro Pascal laughing is one of life's greatest joys to my heart. Amazing. Such range.
Pedro breaking character was the best, all the sketches they wrote for him, he was impeccable.
This is one of those ridiculous, yet hilarious sketches. Entire cast killing it but Kenan calling his words LA mush mouth was perfect
@jwnyc3 That's NYC? I thought uptalk was stereotypical of the Valley Girl accent.
LOL and so accurate 😂
@jwnyc3 ugh! Your poor ears lol 😂
@SueP-Dyah we rilly dew
@Bauul 😊👍
He lasted so long before breaking, fair play honestly 😂
The woman: (Doesn’t even look at him) “Look, he’s waking up!”
Pedro Pascal: (Shoots awake)
This skit was golden. I have a TBI and this is pretty much how it was like to wake up, only not as funny. I appreciate the humor that Pedro brought here. Sharing to everyone!!!
One of my all time favorite SNL skits. Pedro rocks as a host.
Pedro made this scene!!!! Is it me or did the cast have legit fun with him. He's such a great and fun actor to work with with his range!
He also came up with the whole accent thing. He talk about it on a late night show. Now he and the cast of “last of us” will do it for kicks when they are not filming. He and his costars try to keep the mood upbeat off camera because it’s such a dark heavy hitting show.
It's you.
3:55
He’s just so affable. It seems wherever Pedro goes, everyone just loves him.
@beardown2489 Pedro pascal and Adam driver are the best so far
It's a miracle how Pedro managed to hold it together for so long and then continue the sketch after momentarily breaking. Definitely a highlight from the later seasons. :D
These Pedro skits are the hardest I've laughed in a while. He is so good at this!
One of the funniest sketches. Always funny seeing them break character, especially Pedro.
I love how when he temporarily uses his normal voice there's a small emotional reaction from the audience
*Pedro absolutely killed every skit! It's as if he carried the entire cast.*
I like how he couldn’t resist but laugh by breaking out of the character😂
Pedro delivered in every skit! One of the best SNL episodes in a very long time. ❤
One of the best skits in forever!
He was amazing in all his sketches. This one though made me laugh so hard i had tears in my eyes. Love this guy!!!
You can tell he had so much fun with this skit.
Pedro is bringing back the funnyness to SNL, I haven't laughed this hard at an SNL skit in a while 😭
Put a pin in this comment 📌
Way better than Steve and Martin. Their Ebenezer sketch was great but the rest of the show eh.
Under every SNL skit you will find a comment about how funny SNL is. Kinda like it never wasn’t funny.
This wasn’t that funny. I felt disappointed cuz I’m a fan of the actor. Oh well.
OMG- I'm falling in love with Pedro since GOT, he's so hysterical and there isn't anything he can't act out! 😂🥰🤗💖
Me too! Loved him since GOT!
Lets put a pin in that.
This is the best thing ever, I love it when it's so funny that the actors start laughing, makes it funnier to me.
I haven't watched SNL in like 20 years, but pedro made it funny again!
I love that this was a voice he created to pass the time between scenes on Last of Us, and when SNL asked him if he had anything he pulled it out
I haven't laughed at an SNL skit like I laughed watching this one in years!
They did a great job keeping this skit on the rails, when clearly it was about to careen out of control. So funny!!
I would’ve lost it the moment he “wakes up”. I had BURSTED into laughter already by that point 😂
He’s got this incognito humor that is BRILLIANT
@Kjata316 that was the best one 😂
Unlike the restaurant sketch 💀✋🏾
@Kjata316 couldnt stop laughing
Thank you, writers, for this beautiful absurdity, and to Pedro for his hilarious delivery. LA mush mouth = this is the way! 🥰❤
“You lost 50 lbs during your coma!”
“Ohhhhh… good for mE!!!” 😂😂😂
I have no idea how someone even comes up with this but it was hilarious seeing how much fun everyone was having doing it and the Bill Burr part has me rolling
This is one of those subtly brilliant sketches that should be considered one of the modern classics.
Best is when he broke character laughing at himself
@Yevgeniya Leshchenko lol believe it or not, that took incredibly little brainpower. It was just my thoughts. Took exactly the same amount of effort it took you to reply, so really, if I'm wasting time, so are you. Also...I hate to break it to you, but we are in a KZclip comment section. We're ALL engaged in a stupid and pointless thing. So...glass houses and all that
@Feller O'er'dere Also, noone asked you to dissect the joke, it's one of the most stupid and pointless things to do.
I haven’t laughed this hard at a SNL skit in a MINUTE 😭😭 Pedro needs to save them full time 😂
Actually in love with this guy! His humour is on point 😂😂😂❤❤❤
Pedro literally got a laugh with every single thing he said
First episode in a while I didn't miss the older cast members. Thank you Pedro 💖
I've watched this so many times and I just realized how weird it is for Charlie's sister to say, "Yeah and that goes double for me," after his wife says, "Charlie, I'm your wife and that's never gonna change, come hell or high water."
I have now watched this 8 times. It is officially in my top 5 SNL sketches of all time. Pedro and the cast are priceless in this.
same.
@Amen_ Ra people like what they like, its not up there for me, but the simplicity of this sketch (make pedro talk funny) is pure and crisp.
IKR
Me too Buddy, me too...
Let's appreciate Heidi ending her emotional speech with "come hell or high wa-wa" XD
This whole skit cracked me up! The fact that he broke character during it as well as another sketch towards the end of the show! You can tell he had a great time!
I hope he can come back to host SNL again. He's a terrific actor. He nailed it!
I love his look at the camera when he says he can speak spanish
Please bring pedro pascal more times. Dude's a legend. Amazing and funnyy😅😅
Watching people break in SNL skits remains some of best comedy.
This one of the best skits in the last decade!!
The rest of the cast can’t help but just stare at the teleprompter. Pedro let’s it flow.
For those who didn't see him on Seth Meyers' show, Pedro actually brought that accent to SNL. He said he used it on the set of The Last of Us to lighten the mood.
After so many years finally a good skit 😆
This was really just four minutes of Pedro being the cutest thing ever🥰
One of the best SNL skits it 10 years
Why did Heidi look like she was on the verge of laughing this whole skit. She's usually able to keep it together haha. Loved this!
@Dr. Loomis This man has been on my radar for years. He's very talented.
Pedro has that effect on women. Sigh!
@Em E. Fortunately most people forget, The Great Wall, but he was good in that too.
Pedro effect
@Faisal EXACTLY. I was like a lot of "hit shows." A lot.
You know Pedro Pascal is a great actor when he can turn any situation romantic...
The end when Pedro has almost laugh is so funny and he's a pro that he didn't stop just continued his speech 😊😄
One of the best sketches. Never get tired of watching it.
Definitely the best sketch this season! Pedro Pascal ate the entire episode! He was absolutely in the top 5 of all time hosts! In this sketch everyone is great, but he just elevated it!
One of the funniest skits I have seen on SNL in a long time!! Wasn't much of a brain teaser, more of a who's gonna break character first skit. 100%
This skit had me in tears. Pedro killed it, and the entire crew having so much fun.
Lets put a pin in that.
Pretty sure the writers were trying to piggyback off of the Loudermilk coffee scene… SNL needs to start hiring writers based off of talent again not meeting some social justice checklist
i can recite basically every line in every sketch from this episode. pedro KILLED it
Honestly my all time favorite SNL skit so far! Well done!
You know this is an extremely funny sketch when everyone breaks character laughing 🤣🤣🤣
they did such a good job making me laugh
This was hilarious 😂 this was a amazing skit
